Any thoughts on this superteam rumors? I guess the Warriors will be too overrated again with this and may just create some hype. Here's the article: https://fadeawayworld.net/nba/3-powerful-superteams-that-could-be-created-next-season
Just rumors but it's not possible to happen. First, salary cap will be the issue. If they force 4 Warriors superstars in one team they will have trash players on the bench and that is not a wise move in my opinion. If 3 of those get injured they will be at the bottom of the rankings.
I very much like teams with just 2 stars in it and fill it with average roleplayers with the skills they specialize at. i.e. Danny Green - sharpshooter
A lot of rumors will come out and most of it will be about making super teams, it's not fun because it will take out the balance of the game again.
I guess that will be the case unless there's someone who might be willing to a salary decrease which is too rare scenario. That's why I do love this guy Chris Paul (though I'm not a fan) because instead of forming a superteam again he chose this time to lead younger players and he now got a chance to got a ring.
Nah, Chris Paul case is different, after Houston, he had a hard time getting into a team because of his huge salary. He ended up in OKC, but guess what, just after a year he was traded to Phoenix Suns. He didn't have a choice, he can't go to other teams to form superteam. It just so happen that he was a perfect fit to the Phoenix Suns.

He was about to make it with the Lakers during Kobe's time, until former NBA commissioner intervene and says No.
3622  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: TENNIS: Wimbledon 2021 on: July 07, 2021, 11:21:24 PM
Here are the men through to the semi-finals:

Djokovic
Hurkacz
Shapovalov
Berrettini

What a Wimbledon this has turned out to be  Shocked

Just sad to see Federer lost against Hurkacz in this fashion, 0-6 score in the last set? And it was a straight set lost, he was leading in the second set and then suddenly he wasn't able to score and he played poorly. No injuries whatsoever, maybe father time has really caught on Federer and it's evident on this match. And probably this is Roger Federer's last match in Wimbledon.

So it will be Djokovic vs Shapovalov and then Berrettini vs Hurkacz. Djokovic stock for winning this tournanament is very high.
3623  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Estrada vs Gonzalez Trilogy - Oct 16 on: July 07, 2021, 10:59:30 PM
It took so long for the second fight to happen but I am glad they are doing the trilogy right away without a tune up fight in between. The first two could have gone either way and I expect the third to be really close also. Estrada was the favorite last time around but I expect Gonzalez to be favored in the third fight. I hope someone can win decisively this time and not leave it up to the judges so there will not be any controversy surrounding the decision.
It's not that long though, I mean there's Pacquaio having a two year stint and now he is fighting Spence. Hopefully we can see some knockout here so it's a bit worth it to watch the third match.
Having a long rest for a boxer quiet questionable if he can still fight, but these two boxer I guess they are still capable to explode considering their previous matches. Estrada and Gonzalez are fighting again to claim the throne and to be declared as the best. It's hard to judge since they tied at 1-1 and this match is indeed a decision match and this might be the last between this two, we don't know. I'll go for Estrada this time but I don't see a knockout on this match.

Regarding this fight, it's not a long rest between the two. They fought this year and then go straight for the immediate trilogy because of the controversial decision. I guess there are fighters that are affected by the long lay-offs and then there are those elite ones like Pacquiao or Loma who didn't seem to show ring rust. For the knockout, very possible, it's just the timing and the power behind the punch. If it hits perfectly, then someone will have to go down in this fight.
3624  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2021 NBA Season on: July 07, 2021, 04:07:41 PM
Bucks will bounce back in game 2, it should be a close game.  Smiley
I'm looking forward to seeing that they'll bounce back on game 2. After so many years that Bucks has appeared in the finals, many are counting on them to get this year's ring.
But they are not the favorites, so I think there's no high pressure on Giannis winning but I believe they can beat the SUns.
Actually the Bucks this season have less expectation because the favorites are the Lakers and the Nets, so I like to see them prove people wrong now that the suns are heavily favored to win in the series.

The line is out, Suns are at -5.5 in game 2.
That's okay if they are not the favorites. Bucks is still a good team and we're still on game 2 which is still ahead far from the whole finals. Well, those favorites are where right now. It's okay to be not the favorites of the crowd but they've shown how good they are and they've landed a grand finals slot which makes them a very good team. Maybe you haven't seen those that admire the team of Bucks because I've seen a lot are rooting for them despite Phoenix Suns showed better at the game 1.
Yeah, I think it is the same odds as game 1. I would say that I was rooting for the Bucks to win in game 1. And I was excited to see Giannis playing, unfortunately, the Suns is really a strong team.

It will be very hard for the Bucks to go 0-2 in the Finals. They need to find a way to even up the series and steal one game. They started good, take a lead in the first quarter. And Middleton was shooting good in the second quarter. They need to be more energetic and match the intensity of the Suns. They need to play physical as well.
3625  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Manny Pacquiao vs Errol Spence Jr - August 21 on: July 07, 2021, 03:38:41 PM
@Questat - perhaps politics is very different in sports. So Manny might have a hard time to win if he run for the President.

Lots of videos already circulating in Youtube, Manny has started his training in Wild Card gym with coach Roach. Mark Magsayo even posted in his in Youtube channel and you can see that Manny still has the power and the speed.
3626  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: China Quitting Bitcoin Mining Is Very Positive in Long Term on: July 07, 2021, 03:13:14 PM
Yeah, during the crackdown in 2017, or at least China started to show it's disdain on bitcoin, we have been calling that even if the government decided to shutdown the mining business for good, still we are going to survived. The price might be affected short term. But in the long term, it will be good as the operations could be distributed globally and not concentrated on some powerful miners in China. Maybe now the hashrate are going down hard because of the shutdown, but sooner or later we can and we will recover.
3627  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin as a ESO (Employee Stock Option) on: July 06, 2021, 11:02:06 PM
That might not work because some employees might find that the volatility is going to be problematic for them because most employees want their investments to be stable and will be certain to give them money when they retire.

That's why the keyword here is "option", well if you don't like crypto's volatility then you opted out.

Behinds if you really wanted to invest then why not go directly buy bitcoin in an exchange and have it in your hardware wallet, at least you have total control of it.

And regarding the article, this is released on Feb 9, so I don't know if it is still being offered as the price plummeted since.
3628  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will bitcoin dump below $30,000 this week? on: July 06, 2021, 02:38:01 PM
Yeah, this kind of movement is normal I guess, the rise to $64k was impressive indeed but we can't sustain that run. Investors will have to book their profits and then we will have negative news to come and pull the price down. Just the nature of the market that we are all in, and timing is the key. Last quarter of the year might be the next major movement that we are expecting. And I do hope that the eventual 6 digits can be reach, it could stretch to early 2022.
I think $64k is the highest price in the bull market right now. we won't see bitcoin hit that price again except in the next bull market (maybe next 4 years). Experienced investors must have understood this condition and would not feel panicked.

It's too early to say if that is the highest that we are going to see, at least for this year. So if we are going with your argument, (4 year cycle) we are not yet done because we have the next 2 quarters to see what will be the final price this year. Yes, we are in the bear cycle, but we are not yet done. Let's say we should remain optimistic, and hope that we could get to another all time high before the end of the year.
3629  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: July 06, 2021, 01:34:19 PM
I am with the Suns to win the game but I am still a gambler first. The odds pretty much says the Suns will win it with a large margin but I doubt that. So, I'll bet for the Bucks +6.5. Over 216.5
I believe they can outperform the Suns offensive power if they could take care of the ball for every possession.
Bucks bench ain't that weak so I am hoping for a close game with the Suns winning with just single digits.

Player props? Anyone?

I still can't make out my mind, but I would say that I want the Bucks to win game win and with that good odds ML @3.10. Might throw some money on it, although my gambling money is on other sports and I thought that I will get the result of my bets before the NBA game.

Anyhow, there's plenty of time to deposit in the next 10 hours. So I might go for the Bucks here. I'm not going into player props though.
3630  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: July 06, 2021, 01:04:00 PM
The good thing about Federer advancing to the quarter finals is that he now gains a good bit of confidence. Not only did he get there, but he made it there in 3 - 0 game. I think now in the quarter finals he has a very good chance to also beat Medvedev (if he makes it to the quarters) or the other guy as well. When would he face Novak Djokovic? Semifinals or final?

Federer will probably face Medvedev in the quarterfinals, I assume that Medvedev will win his supplementary match today. Due to the longer recovery time, Federer will certainly have a small advantage, which he needs given his age and lack of match practice.

Is it true what I read, if Medvedev wins Wimbledon he would be #1 in the ATP list, will that work out?

I think the following scenario will make Medvedev the #1

(a) Medvedev reaching the finals
(b) Medvedev winning the Wimbledon
(c) Djokovic not reaching the finals
(d) Djokovic not winning the Wimbledon

So there is the scenario that he has total control with, like winning the Wimbledon. So I guess the best thing to do right now is just focus on winning the Wimbledon this year.
3631  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What do you think will happen to Bitcoin in 100 years? on: July 06, 2021, 12:06:03 PM
I think bitcoin will be around in a 100 years. Gold has been around for thousands of years and fiat money has been around for nearly a century. Bitcoin will be here as long as it survives regulations or any unforeseen technical issues.
Bad comparison though.

As others have said, 100 years? too much to speculate. First, we really don't know what will happen to the planet we live in, for God's sake maybe it won't be inhabitable in the next century.

But assuming people that time survived, maybe they will see the last bitcoin being mined and if become some sort of novelty or collectors item that time or it could be traded and become the currency that we all have been wanting to see, they definitely it will still be here.
3632  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will bitcoin dump below $30,000 this week? on: July 05, 2021, 11:37:34 PM
The price has a more downtrend than the uptrend, we used the $60k as the basis, and see where we are now. The problem is, bitcoin is struggling to break $40k which makes me think that it will likely go below $30k than going higher than $39k. We cannot guarantee but we have to always believe our prediction based on our experience being an investor and a trader.

Support levels around $30,000 are still quite strong. For the long term investors, there is nothing much to worry. Look at the larger picture. It was a continuous rally fro $8,000 to $62,000. Obviously, once the rally ends there will be some amount of profit booking. That brought the prices to ~$30,000. Now that profit booking phase is over and Bitcoin seems to be stabilizing at ~$35,000. The user base continues to increase, and acceptability is also on the rise. So in the long term the exchange rates must increase. The stabilization phase may last a few months and after that we will be having the next major rally, which will take BTC to six digit prices.

3633  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: July 05, 2021, 02:25:14 PM
I guess we should not be worried that Giannis will not play in the NBA Finals as the odds say that he will come back.

Though the Suns are the favorites in the books, things would change once Gianni's wills tart to play, if we see the same Giannis, that will make the bucks a team that is hard to beat because the Suns haven't faced a healthy team that is dominant inside.

The Lakers were the only team that gave trouble to the suns, that's when Davis was healthy because they dominate inside, so if Giannis is healthy, they can do that to the Suns.

But the Suns sweep Nuggets with Jokic, reigning MVP and they frustrate him throughout the series. They can go it with Giannis, his advantage though is his length and speed which might take Ayton off guard. Middleton vs Booker and then Holiday vs CP3 will be the key match up here. Middleton and Booker are both momentum shooter, I mean if they wax hot, they can score in numbers. But if they went cold, then someone has to step up.
3634  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2021 NBA Season on: July 05, 2021, 01:26:35 PM

Giannis was injured now but he could return in the NBA Finals. If he can play then for sure he will not miss this opportunity to help his team to become a champion. The Bucks have missed a lot of opportunities, they are consistent in the Playoffs but they never reach in the NBA Finals, so they sure are very hungry to win.

If he won't play then the series would not be good as we expected since no one will guard Ayton. however, if he comes back at the right time, he will eventually match the power of the Phoenix Suns and have the chance to win this series. Looks like the tide is all going to the Phonix and this is kind of a chance that they don't need to let go since they can win the game one if Giannis won't play. then can secure their offence more often when no one like Giannis will depend on the rim.

Lopez can guard Ayton and I don't think that Giannis will take on him even if he is going to play.

But his Phoenix is healthy and they have like more than a week of rest they should come fresh in game 1. The Bucks still need the services of Giannis here, he is the main man and for sure he will come back and play in this finals specially if they goes out of Phoenix with a 0-2 disadvantage.
3635  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2021 NBA Season on: July 05, 2021, 11:59:30 AM

Suns Vs. Bucks in July 7. My prediction with this game would be Suns in 7 Smiley.

With an injured Gianni who leads his team on offense and defense? I wonder if they can last until game 7 though? Sun's completely dominate all the powerhouse team on West which is stronger to incomplete Bucks. Luck is with Phoenix this season and they have a good roster to counter both offense and defense of Bucks even if Gianni is not injured. Game 5 to 6 is what I'm predicting to end the finals.

This will be more on a defensive game for the Bucks. They should have like a game plan to make Paul and Booker work very hard. I would say that it is much easier to contain Booker, but CP3's experience though as a point guard is on another level.

So Phoenix could have the advantage all around, probably 4-2 in favour of the Suns.
3636  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: TENNIS: Wimbledon 2021 on: July 05, 2021, 11:36:14 AM
Those are players rank, so if you see, (1) Novak Djokovic is currently rank number 1 in this tournament and is the current number 1 player in tennis.
Was about to ask the same thing but it seems that someone's already did the question. I have another question though, how do they determine the rank of the players though, is it like some kind of match making ranking where they have to win to increase their rank like the one that they use in chess?
Well as far as I know, every player who entered a tournament will have some kind of points. So obviously if you won a masters 250, 500 or 1000 you earn a points if you place at least in QF. Grand Slams like Wimbledon accured higher points. So it's a whole year tournament, so players accumulated points overtime and the one with the highest will be on top.

For this year's Wimbledon, I will go with Djokovic, I haven't check the bracket, but Rublev and Medvedev could be a good contender. Federer has lost so much of his speed. Maybe he can win against Sonego next, but it will be a tough match next.

Only bright side for Britain in in the ladies side, 18 year old Emma Raducanu.
3637  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Yunnan Provincial Energy Authority Disables Miners on: July 03, 2021, 07:24:31 AM
And the hashrate continues to drop, fluctuating now from 85 TH/s to 90 TH/s

https://www.blockchain.com/charts/hash-rate.

Maybe there is some kind of truth that China has really taking the plug from the miners. And I speculate that the miners who has lost her are now dumping their BTC too in order to established new businesses or move somewhere else wherein the government are not going to touch them.
3638  Economy / Speculation / Re: Repeating the price cycle every 4 years on: July 03, 2021, 07:02:11 AM
bitcoin differs from other assets in the absence of manipulation by the state, people buy it as they are used to buying, so the cycles are repeated

But there is still manipulation by some whales in the market right? obviously, it's open and free for everyone to play so still manipulation can be there at any given time (bullish or bearish cycle). I'm not really sure of the pattern though, the only pattern who have is the bitcoin block halvening which happens every 4 years and that's where we speculate that cycles do happen because of this one. But as the market markets and the supply is going down, this pattern might change over time.
3639  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: July 03, 2021, 05:54:04 AM
I booked the bucks in game 5 and I won, this time I will favor the Bucks to win game 6.

There's some line movement and I like to call it very positive for an underdog team to be a favorite now.
I'm taking it early, but actually not too early, therefore I got the Hawks here winning at least 3 points.

my bet, Hawks -2.
Hawks -2.5 @1.86 is the current odds. So still this is a good odds and chances are they can cover this spread if Trae Young are going to play. So I'm going to take it early as well, usually the line might fall as the we get closer to the game. It was a boosted odd so @1.92, so best of luck to everyone who are going to bet on the Hawks this game. There's going to be a game 7 if they win, so it makes the series more exciting.
3640  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Celsius CEO says BTC price will go to $160,000 this year, what will happen then? on: July 02, 2021, 05:11:20 PM
First, what are the reasons why the BTC price can rise from $30,000 to $160,000? Of course, not only the statements of 1 person can directly be used as a benchmark for us to manage our portfolio, maybe if it's just a dream I can say this year's price will be able to reach $ 200,000 if you look at the deep correction and if it is supported by the recovery of the world economy when the pancemic disappears .

Fundamentals, that's one reason why BTC can rose to this price in the future, of course, there is the basic economic law of supply and demand. If there is more demand in the future, coming from retail investors to whales, to speculators to countries such as El Salvador to big companies using BTC to hedge their assets and put it on their balance sheet, then BTC can go as high as $100k this year.
