3621  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Proposition: Higher house edge reduces overall gambling losses on: November 01, 2018, 04:28:37 PM
Can't agree OP because there are so many factors and house edge has almost nothing to do with it.
Well, imagine there is high house edge, for example -snip-
Here's the problem. You're creating and assuming individual cases. I am not.

I realize there are a number of factors associated with gambling addiction. However, we are evaluating it from a control group (i.e. irrelevant of outside variables). Suppose our sample size is the entire population of the earth. Then, by analyzing the whole, we absolve any other factors from influencing the results.

It's like stating that all organic experiments are flawed because there are random factors associated with each organism and thus the results are skewed.

Bear in mind, these are also hypothetical ideas based on generalized principles. The average result will reduce overall gambling losses but there will always be variance. This is similar to gambling itself
The thing is, your first example addresses a problem gambler. The behavior would have most likely happened regardless of the house edge (upon a loss) which means there is no significant change to our calculation of total losses.
I interprated individual cases to make my opinion clearer. I talk from the situation which is in country where I have lived for a long time. Young people, yeah teens and imagine, people from 12 years old usually start gambling, it's so easy to register and withdraw money online on those local casinos without verification. They want to earn easy money, everytime they got some buks, immediately deposit and play poker, sports betting, slots and etc. I know a lot of people who does that and in most cases they try to get back what they lost. Imagine, house edge is 8% on most games but they still gamble, doesn't matters. That's why I talk absolutely different, that doesn't means I don't share what you say, yeah you are right and what you say comes from big countries.
3622  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin ATM started in India despite RBI restrictions. on: November 01, 2018, 12:51:51 PM
Maybe a good news, maybe because as we see, there are many bitcoin ATMs worldwide and they have so huge fees, sorry but if they exist doesn't matters, you simply can't use them because these ATMs charge a lot. When there are less ATMs and demand is high, it has to lead low fees but during this 10 year, it was never like this.
Hope new companies will come on ATM market which will try to lower prices.
3623  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Proposition: Higher house edge reduces overall gambling losses on: November 01, 2018, 11:51:13 AM
Can't agree OP because there are so many factors and house edge has almost nothing to do with it.
Well, imagine there is high house edge, for example person Rob started gambling with 1 btc, he lost, tried 1 btc next day, he lost again. Then what happens? More likely he says: I just want to get money back which I lost and then I swear I'll never gamble. He did and lost or win again but didn't get his whole 2 btc, only won 1 btc. But he wants another 1, gambles and loses. Now he gots addict.
I can say also another opposite of what you posted, for example imagine house edge is low and Rob started betting again, wow he won and won much, next day started betting and sees he loses, already lost 40% of profit. Now he realizes that gambling is something he has to left and take a profit, have a fun with friends.

I don't say that you aren't true, yeah you are right also but everything depends on how someone thinks. To be fair I was in sports betting for 2 years, was betting everyday and I am in profit overally but once lose 100$ which was much for me at the moment because I was unemployed, had a lot of free time too. Then soon I left sports betting because don't had enough time to read sport news or watch football (soccer) matches, changed my thoughts and started workout at gym to gain some muscled and it's almost 2-3 year that I haven't made any bet.
3624  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: RX570 Red dragon cards OR Gainward P106-100 cards on: November 01, 2018, 11:08:22 AM
I'm looking to buy bulk miners, my options are
90 RX570 & 90 P106-100 cards. OR

180 Gainwards P106-100 cards.

What would u do, considering im going to resell them.
Overally and especially if you are going to resell them, what about to see these cards? Nvidia gtx 1070ti, 1080/1080ti. I think it will be more smart choise, they consume less electricity, have high hashrate and ethereum won't be your only go to mining option, you can mine another great coins too. I would forget RX, highly doubt you'll get ROI or sell them in reasonable price.
3625  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: A new media on provably fair gaming on: November 01, 2018, 10:31:24 AM
If you want to consider suggestions, then I would say it's bettee if you move on premium domains like .com .net Btw provably fair world sounds great but that's just my opinion. It will be better if you integrate Provably Fair Verifiers like dicesites.com has. Do you write articles yourself? If not then it won't attract people + won't be good for seo.
On another hand, wish you luck.
3626  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will Ethereum prices disappoint you again? on: October 31, 2018, 10:27:04 PM
Good question OP, to be fair it's doubtful but more likely it will dissapoint us again. If you see, there was some issues 1-2 years ago, even before that and it continues so on. Despite the fact that Ethereum is innovative and something new compared to most of other altcoins, it still isn't smooth, devs have a lot of falls, they do forks, they were asic resistant as they claimed but in reality it wasn't like that.
3627  Economy / Gambling / Re: BITDICE - 🎲🎲🎲 New Version is Online! 🎰🎰🎰 on: October 31, 2018, 09:40:50 PM
PS. We noticed someone was able to bet over 25 bets per second on our dice game. If that's not a lot I'm not sure what is!

Any idea about how he does it?

As you say, 25 bets/ second is a lot, and not sure it is good for the site, what would happen if 1000 users do it at the same time? By the way, if the site doesn't have a problem with those fast bets I would like to know the way. That speed sound fun for a low chance to win martingale.  Tongue

We updated the backend so that and a good internet connection seems to do the trick. Surely if 1000 people do the same then the performance probably couldn't keep up.
Wait, is it really possible to bet 25 bet/second ? Are you kidding? Well it's positively insane, that performance is great when you play longterm on 97% win chance or just wager and wager low amount of bitcoin. It's a little bit bad if you losr quickly, otherwise enjoy it.
Btw will you add igrosoft slots on your website? They are popular in some places.
3628  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Looking back at the White paper... Do you think Satoshi would be proud of us? on: October 31, 2018, 08:57:06 PM
"What is needed is an electronic payment system based on cryptographic proof instead of trust, allowing any two willing parties to transact directly with each other without the need for a trusted third party.": Satoshi's original Bitcoin whitepaper is 10 years old today!

Hardly anyone are making Bitcoin payments without going through some kind of centralized third party, like payment processors and exchanges or wallet providers.

Satoshi wanted us to use Bitcoin directly between two willing parties, without any intermediary services.

Do you think these services are crushing Satoshi's original dreams and goals for this technology or did we just evolve to satisfy the requirements of the governments that wants to control this technology.  Huh

Do we need to go back to the original vision for this technology or do we continue on this new path?
We wanted to see satoshi but he/she or them don't want to shop face(s).
It's another task what's written in whitepaper and another - what satoshi actually wanted and the reason why he invented this coin. I think he didn't consider this: What will happen when we mine all coins. Following is my opinion: He didn't invented bitcoin for masses, it had to be not so popular used to protect anonimity of it's users. This coin is designed to keep privacy but be the book at the same time of all transaction. He did amazing job and that's all, he did his best and everyone knows something that's abused will lose it's beauty.
3629  Economy / Economics / Re: Cryptocurrencies and Europe's Economic Growth on: October 31, 2018, 11:32:53 AM
Europe's growth is stagnating because Italy is a dead weight.

https://www.bbc.com/news/business-46028714

"Economic growth in the 19 countries using the euro currency slowed by more than expected in the third quarter of the year, official figures indicate.

The bloc was not helped by the performance of Italy's economy, which registered no growth at all during the third quarter."

If countries issued their own cryptocurrencies and citizens functioned exclusively with its use, do you think this be a good thing for Europe's development?

Each country would have to carry its own weight, and one country's progress would not be hindered by another's bad economy.

I think that the euro is a big failure as fiat currency(perhaps a bigger failure, compared with the US dollar),but the cryptocurrencies can't be the solution for the EU problems.
Italy will have to cut it's government expenses and reduce it's budget deficit. This has nothing to do with the crypto world.
Can you tell me why are EURO and USD big failures? Does america has bad economy? I think they are leading, many country depends on usd, so for usa, it's not failure. I'll tell you whatvis the biggest failure, it's when small countries own their national currency and when usd/euro rises, blame to others. Btw on another hand what would you say on GBP? Is it failure? Highly doubt anyone has to say yes, Great Britain was always strong and they did a great choice when they left EU.
Oh, cryptocurrency can't fix anythinf and as user above me posted, it's like printing more and more money which can only worsen situation in near future.
3630  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should we Re-Brand Bitcoin? on: October 31, 2018, 10:36:56 AM
Bitcoin isn't something owned by one man and is rebranding new thing in currencies? Was anyone rebranding gold or us dollar? If you don't like transaction confirmation times, anonimity or other things, then there are altcoins like bitcoin cash, ethereum, monero and etc. If you don't like that it was often used in dirty things, you can't change past so accept it or reject this coin.
3631  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: looking for an English speaking person to record a video about the platform on: October 31, 2018, 09:47:37 AM
Looking for an English speaking person to record a video about the platform
Criteria from 1k subscribers channel on YouTube, you will need to add video to your channel,

Your mail
link to your YouTube channel

if you come to us will contact you
Your post has nothing to do with project development section, better to move it on service discussions. On another hand, if suggestions are welcome for you, then it would be better if you visit fiverr because there are a lot of people who offers this type of job for 5$. As far as I know currently they don't accept crypto but another payment options may not be a problem for you.
3632  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Estrahash.com on: October 31, 2018, 09:04:24 AM
According to whois the site is 8 months old which I think can be trusted but I'm looking for reviews about this site but I don't find any that I think this site looks suspicious.

I suggest that better to go directly to the manufacturer if you are planning to buy a ASIC hardware.
You can easily buy domains which were already registered if you contact seller or it is selling on namecheap or somewhere, also you can easily buy domain, hold it and start "business" after eight months.
OP bitmain, baikal and etc don't have any official retailer, there is a high chance you'll receive nothing or at least used asic miner, which believe me will be a lot of trouble for you.
3633  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: betting method profit guaranteed no paying on: October 30, 2018, 12:03:22 PM
betting method profit guaranteed no paying !!
Its not fixed or infos or something and i dont ask money for it infront.profit is huge at end of each day..

randonakwon@yahoo.com

or telegram nateaccts

There is only guarantees profit in arbitrage betting but this is so risky, because bookmakers can easily catch you. On another hand there is nothing guaranteed. If you do this freely, then why don't you explain everything step by step here? I think you want to send someone trojan or something and that's all. If you say I am wrong, then please explain why don't you post it in public while you also know that someone whom you'll teach, will spread it.
Btw there is no guaranteed way, you can leave your "proofs" for you and I suggest to never open useless thread again.
3634  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: MiNinG iS DeAd on: October 29, 2018, 08:55:17 PM
OP from your posts it seems like you blame everyone who made a better move than you and buy asic miners or instead of eth mining, they chose other coins.
Don't be so catty, yeah I hate Bitmain for what they do but what to do? They cracked ethash, so they deserve their built asic miner, it didn't come from air. Also when you call others noob, don't you think that you are this at first?
There were given good advices, sell gpus and hold coins or I suggest to move on Nvidia gtx1070ti/1080 and higher and mine other coins, these GPUs are amazing.
3635  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: REVOLUT - SCAM - STAY AWAY - THEY WANT TO STEAL YOUR MONEY AND DOCUMENTS! on: October 29, 2018, 07:35:14 PM
Revolut isn't a scam, also they are going to enter the Russian market with the support of QIWI wallet (It's still doubtful if they enter in Russia because current business owners hate to see them) and believe me, they aren't scammers, even better than any other known wallet service provider, the fact is that russian online wallet service providers aren't as famous as skrill, neteller and others.
3636  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: China: Man Sentenced to Prison for Stealing Railway Electricity to Mine Bitcoin on: October 28, 2018, 07:44:54 PM
Would love to see following news: Man senteced to prison for stealing electricity from elevator or from metro or etc silly reason. OP I highly doubt he was making $$$ because he would have to mine with multiple miners, which couldn't be unnoticed. I think he was making $ annd mining with 1-2 miner. Would see news if I am wrong.
Btw those people act like a fool and are confident while in reality they are silly.
3637  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Education for Cryptocurrency trading? on: October 28, 2018, 11:12:50 AM
Can others tell you anything magic that will turn simple man into super trader? Everyone will tell you to see charts, analyze data, consider current situation and future one, if someone or some country plans to make regulations on crypto or make something prohibited related to it, how profitable does mining is and etc. But you need luck at the same time, sometimes your correct analyze can make you wrong in prediction of price.
3638  Economy / Economics / Re: Companies aren't responsible for innovation, consumers are on: October 28, 2018, 10:20:59 AM
Tech giants are usually praised as holding complete responsibility for innovation, but you can' t have supply without demand.

People are programmed to compulsively desire the latest and greatest thing, which is why they are willing to justify working so hard in jobs most of them hate, or trade bitcoin lol.

If this scenario weren't happening, tech companies wouldn't have the budgets to create the incredible technology that we now have.

Where do you think this seemingly endless cycle will lead? Will the technology ever solve so many problems and carry so much value that it would destroy the cycle?

That's the power of marketing. For example girls buy iphone's latest models just to hold them lol, the only function they use is selfie camera, instagram and facebook, I highly believe 99% have never used NFC or really need A11 Bionic chip or have any imagination on jailbreaking and etc. For them it's main features are camera and wireless connection to upload photos.
On another hand you are true, for example two or three camera on one smartphone, those new, wide screens are invented for years but to make things innovative and give us a reason to buy, they implement everything very lately. This cyclr will never end, especially now when economics is everything.
3639  Economy / Gambling / Re: MyDiceBot - Cross-Platform | Multi-Script-Language | Multi-Site | Multi-Strategy on: October 27, 2018, 09:06:00 PM
Appreciate that you support Seuntjies Dicebot and act like a kind guy. I already mentioned in previous thread and still say that you have nice UI compared to competitor if we call so. Will you include faucet feature? For example freebitco is faucet while offers dice as an additional way to possibly increase profit. If users are able to claim faucet from your software, that will be great.
3640  Other / Meta / Re: Huge section spammed... Attention from MOD required on: October 27, 2018, 02:34:47 PM
Hello guys. Well i'm talking about the "Marketplace (Altcoins) -> https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=161.0
If you go on this section in our forum, you will barely see any thread that should be there.
99,99% of the threads have nothing to do with the section purpose...
Most of people do not sell/buy/exchange altcoins there, they just promote and spam off-topic things not based to altcoin marketing.
I believe this section should be cleaned from all those threads which have nothing to do with it.
This section should be used only as marketplace.
For buying/selling and exchanging alt coins.
Same as currency exchange section at bitcoin marketplace is used only for this.
Please, if someone could bring that to Moderators eyes, or someone could help, it will be great to see another section cleaned from spam and used for his purpose.
Seems you can't understand things well, buy/sell or exchange altcoins isn't must to do things on altcoin marketplace. Here is the bitcoin's general marketplace discussion: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=5.0 <-- it has sub categories because it's main here since website is for bitcoin. All those sub categories are united and given like all in one in altcoin's marketplace. You can offer your services, sell goods, announce a service or discuss about it here so don't worry, if you strongly believe there is spam thread, then just click on report to moderator and they'll take care of it asap.
