3641  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What If There Is A Ban on: March 02, 2023, 09:23:48 AM
I have no ideas that can be possible, because i taught that with the help of VPN weather the cut off your internet or not you can have access to any website, because the ip address the country is not long been display in the server. Many people i know have experience ban on internet and their internet was restricted through the ip of the system used but with VPN with another another address it happens to restore the internet.

Internet is not virtual in reality, it is based on servers and communication lines (cables) between them. If a ban is based on a program decision only then VPN can usually help, but if you don't have a cable connected to Internet no VPN will help because you need some physical connection. If some intranet has no connection to Internet then no VPN will work as no data of any kind can be transferred between not connected intranet and Internet. The same as you can't call your friend in another city if you have no kind of phone.
3642  Economy / Economics / Re: Russian Gas ban - A problem for Europe or suicide for Russia? on: March 02, 2023, 09:12:03 AM
Yes, with which I completely agree - extras, as a rule, think binary and expect exactly simple solutions, where you don’t have to think, everything is simple and clear Smiley

As for the decisions - not everything is so bad. There is a good "bad" example: the USSR. And it fell apart very quickly! Although it was also integrated into the world economy... The situation is very similar. At the same time, stories about "Russia's deep integration into the world economy" are a fairy tale. There is no dependence of the Western economy on Russia. There is a corruption dependence of some Western politicians and companies, this is a fact. And they are very against it, because in addition to the fact that they will lose their income, they will also sit in the dock, since all the dirt that the Kremlin has collected on them will definitely "pour" into the media. And what is important - those of the corrupt officials tainted with the Kremlin's money, who will be the first to understand that their "master" will soon crumble, will begin to hand over their accomplices in order to receive "indulgence" ...

Why do you think that any problems in economy can be a solution of an entire situation? I can remind you that Palestine has a very small economy but they anyway can produce rockets and missiles. As I said if the decision of it will be found, it will be really complicated, otherwise this problem will stay for really long. And expecting that gas confrontation will solve the problem or something will happen by itself — is naive. It is not just about economy and unfortunately no simple decision will be available.
3643  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: El Salvador has become the first country to make #Bitcoin legal tender! 🇸🇻 on: March 02, 2023, 08:57:20 AM
...
If Bitcoin is to succeed there, it has to be the will of the people, not the will of a man, or a few men.

As we can see from different news and posts in this topic El Salvador's government is at least trying to make so: they start educational programs, they work for more business use bitcoin, they try to advertise bitcoin as wide as possible. We never know if there efforts are enough for achieving a goal of intensive bitcoin adoption until this adoption will totally succeed. So we can just welcome these efforts of El Salvador and hope it will be enough. Because I don't have any additional ideas what they should do else.

Grin
3645  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What If There Is A Ban on: March 01, 2023, 07:15:14 AM
Their is no way a country can ban Bitcoin also ban a VPN it's impossible, I'm just exaggerating in this point, i think sometimes ago I heard that Russia don't have access in Bitcointalk but they do access the site with VPN. So therefore, I'm of the opinion that if a country ban Bitcoin accessibility, basically they will be the use of VPN for easy penetration and change of ip address of the country using VPN.

You can always cut off a cable like North Korea did: if you have no access to external Internet physically no VPN will help you. Of course some people in North Korea have prohibited devices with Internet from China, but very few and mostly close to a border of China, and majority hasn't. So maybe some people can get access to banned networks, but it will be hard to do so for majority because government prohibits not for reasons to give opportunity for everyone to used what banned, they will toughen the punishment and increase controls.
3646  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is it true that this AI is good for trading? on: March 01, 2023, 07:05:49 AM
There are many sectors where AI is doing good job and working just like a human like in car assembling units AI powered robots are assembling cars without intervention of humans. But the case of trading is somewhat different, at least till now. If AI can work like humans in trading then that will be the day when the entire mankind will be millionaire.
The AI tools can be used to get guidance about trading but cant work independently in trading sector.

If entire mankind will become millionaires then these millions will cost nearly nothing. Resources entire mankind has don't give an opportunity for luxury for everyone and will hardly do so in a future, because more developed economy becomes more needs we have at a basic level. So no, AI will not make us all richies, it will just raise the level of consumption for majority. And of course there are different fields where AI works good at the moment already, but but it is good not for every type of work activity and some works will, most expected, stay for human beings, including trading (if it will stay).

You can always suggest them to try training mode with demo balance before they start trading with real money.

Of course we should do so, but if we think that it is enough and knowing that majority of newbies will hardly follow the advice will stop on that will it be good advice? As I said we should also inform that even experienced traders lose and that nearly 100% every newbie will lose very fast so after they try training mode they still shouldn't play with big money. For very long time they should play not more than with amount they are ready to spend on entertainment as highly likely they'll lose it all! It's not about to recommend training mode or not, it's about to recommend it and recommend not to risk their savings after that anyway.
3648  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Advantage of holding Bitcoin in time of crisis on: March 01, 2023, 06:48:39 AM
I agree holding bitcoin during a crisis is a good idea, but i don't see how it will make the economy more stable, because everything about bitcoin is about volatility

Why do you expect bitcoin should stabilize an economy?! Low expectations on that. Modern economy was built on a base of inflation, derivatives and fiat money, so bitcoin is not a part of this economy, it is an alternative and makes economy to adapt to it. So it has rather destabilizing effect on old economy, but if we need a new economy we should overcome an old one. It will not be fast and old economy will stay for really long, but elements of a future new economy are being implemented slowly right now. And bitcoin volatility will go down but it will not stabilize an old economy anyway. We are "stabilizing" our money for the time of a crisis, it is a different.
3649  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is trading good for beginners? on: February 28, 2023, 06:21:15 AM
You don't have to be the best trader to start trading. Right?
You have to know how to trade and where to trade. I am not talking about bot trading here. I don't suggest bot trading as it won't help you to learn trades. I do not agree that you must lose your money to learn to trade, and it will teach you the best lesson. If you are a billionaire, that's a different case. But, On an online platform, You shouldn't suggest such things.

Surely demo balance and demo trades help newbies how to do it. Even some casinos offer demo tokens to test their games. Some of them offer faucets for their games. Did you see when a new medicine invent, researchers never test them on a human at the beginning? They try it on other animals first. You don't have to lose to learn something. I respect your opinion. But, I don't agree with you.

Of course you are right, it is much better to learn in a training version of an exchange, but how many people will do so? Maybe couple of hours or days and it is definitely not enough to be experienced trader but then they'll anyway start trading at a real market, in majority. So IMO we should not only give advice for in case of an ideal situation, but for as they'll more likely will do. And IMO it is good to say them to use not more money for trading than they are ready to spend on entertainment, because they'll lose their deposit in 99,9% cases very soon. And even after that a majority of them will hardly use a a training version for long enough.
3650  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is it true that this AI is good for trading? on: February 28, 2023, 05:53:37 AM
Of course, having an optimized AI is still not a guarantee that it can have very good results, for an AI to give moderately good results, according to what I think, it would still take a long time, I would say years, because it is complicated, if nothing else. AI detectors are bad, imagine everything that an AI is missing? What many traders look for with an AI is for the AI to do the work for them and for the profits to increase, obviously it is to win, but I see something like this too far away, it is not within the parameters that people expect, it is impossible.

Okay, imagine the situation when AI is as good as the best trader, everyone can get their AI and start trading and everyone will earn at the market as the best traders. From where will they get an income? Nowadays income is summarized from — as a small part — growth of entire economy (when it grows) and from losses of other players as a big part. When everything will be done with an AI it will won't work at all and trading will be over or AI will never work that way. Choose prediction you like more. Wink
3651  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: El Salvador has become the first country to make #Bitcoin legal tender! 🇸🇻 on: February 28, 2023, 05:44:48 AM
This seems to be a great one for the cryptocurrency - accepting it as legal but then I thought the decision has caused some controversy and criticism to be raised. I think some experts expressed concerns over the volatility and potential risks associated with cryptocurrencies. We know how this can affect the people if it goes wrong than planned right?

Well, we can see that bitcoin rates went down last year, but when we see the available statistics of using bitcoin in El Salvador it looks like it doesn't impact on adoption. Maybe we don't see any big progress in increasing in the percentage of the population using bitcoin but seems like those ones who started to use it understand it enough to use it further. When we read stories about travelling to El Salvador we don't see that Salvadirians are upset with bitcoin: if some of them don't want it they just don't use it, others are curious. And I can repeat that there's a long bear market right now, so it is right time for investigating if Salvadorians become more upset with bitcoin — and it looks like they are okay with it. Maybe my information is incomplete, then please share articles which will expand it.
3652  Economy / Economics / Re: Russian Gas ban - A problem for Europe or suicide for Russia? on: February 28, 2023, 05:27:28 AM
Let me clarify a little... Many people think that the sanctions will lead to the fact that on some day the population in Russia will wake up in the morning - and there is nothing around and nothing works Smiley No, it will not happen.
...

That's right, most people want simple solutions and expect they will work but they won't. If we'll see a positive final of this story it will be a really complicated solution and we can hardly predict which components will it have. And yes, gas and petrol ban import from Russia will not impact the problem by itself only, you are right. And if to listen to different European politicians they know that, and it is just one of a measures they try to take. Very complicated problem, lots of hidden problems in the future.

I am little laughing looking picture above about China history banned bitcoin, almost every years announce they not legal and bitcoin have banned there but not impact yet to make Bitcoin price drop.

Restrictions are not just about the rates. We all remember that previously big amount of miners were in China and after governmental ban of mining they moved to different other countries and US is a country with one of a biggest amount of miners now. Having influence on miners you can have influence on bitcoin: if you convince them in something they can make a consensus decision. And rates are secondarily, most important for bitcoin is to stay decentralized and independent.
3656  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Time to buy or sell? on: February 27, 2023, 05:39:50 AM
An investor always knows that the best time to invest can be any, except when you are in a Distribution Stage or in a bearish trend, that is something that every investor knows, however the market is so difficult to analyze that I think the stage under which we are living is that of a re-accumulation, of course I say this according to my personal analysis based on Wyckoff's theory without complying or seeing a defined pattern, only analyzing under the basic principles, I may be wrong, but according to the topic of the thread, it is a great opportunity that there is already to buy.

You never know then bearish trend is over and you never know when ATH will be. So in theory you just should catch a moment when the price is lower than an average and hold until you need to sell. And in practice if everything was so easy everyone would be investors and traders. And most suggestive in this topic is that a majority (including me) supposes that it is a good time for buying if you are an investor. We all know that a majority in crypto can be wrong often enough... I don't change my position, but it makes me nervous a bit. Grin
3657  Economy / Economics / Re: Russian Gas ban - A problem for Europe or suicide for Russia? on: February 27, 2023, 05:30:18 AM
Let's look at statistics: during 2022 gas export from Russia went down comparing with 2021; gas prices were high in the middle of a year and then went down. So idea that Russia earns more then previously is not based on facts.
The gas price went down but it didn't go back down to previous levels, it stayed higher than those prices. Also don't forget that gas started being exported mainly as LNG to Europe which is a lot more expensive than the regular thing Russia used to export through the pipelines.

BTW the "us_gas_price" link you shared seems to be the "petrol" price which they call "gas" as in something you put in your car not the gas you pump into homes, industries, etc.
You should also keep in mind that US retail prices is not the same as export prices. They've actually kept it down well enough to decrease the domestic economical impact.

This seems to be a more appropriate chart at least for US prices: https://ycharts.com/indicators/us_natural_gas_liquefied_exports_price

Thanks for correcting my link, now I tried to find even more concrete data of import price for natural gas in Europe. You are right when saying that the price is not at a low level, but it is at about the same rates as at the autumn on 2021 but it still goes down. So it corrects but not refutes my words.

As for more expensive import of gas, Europe declared green economy path and intences development of alternative power generation. As we see in 2022 wind and solar power generation took over 22% of entire generation of Europe. I'd expect that in nowadays surcumstances they'll use renewables even more intensievly.

So we shouldn't expect all will change totally in a few months, but if for several years then I'd say we can expect to see a totally different picture.
3658  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: El Salvador has become the first country to make #Bitcoin legal tender! 🇸🇻 on: February 27, 2023, 05:07:42 AM
salvador crime rate continues to decrease unabated

so the future election should renew the president ? and its btc adoption, as the 2 appear linked:

https://www.zerohedge.com/news/2023-02-26/how-cut-your-countrys-crime-rate-97

Building a biggest prison in Americas for tens of thousands prisoners looks risky: they collect criminals from all the country in one place. If all will go right Salvadorians will remember both anti-gang measures and bitcoin adoption as the time when the country started doing better. But in case of prisoners rebellion... it fears me a bit: too many dangerous people concentrated in one small place. Hope better prognosis will come true, not worse.
