3641  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why would someone create topic that deserves merit but won't be merited? on: April 10, 2022, 01:13:47 PM
What you think is a quality topic doesn't necessarily mean that others think the same. But even if you think that some topics are not merited enough, there are plenty of merit giveaway threads around to which you can apply. Situations where I saw something similar (on the regular basis) to what you described is when a fake newbie comes to B & H section and start giving advice on what to do on the forum and similar bs. People often see through those merit fishing attempts and that's how you get what you described.

By the way, care to share some examples of what you are talking about, just to see what's your idea of a quality topic? That way we could answer to your question better.
3642  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin continue to have the same effect on alts? on: April 10, 2022, 01:03:47 PM
Will BTC price movement continue to have the same effect on alts price in like 10 years? 20 years maybe? Let's hear some expert opinions.
I personally believe that BTC will still influence altcoin price in that timeframe, but to what degree will depend on bitcoin's dominance on the market. Since I currently don't see altcoins that can even remotely endanger that I think that bitcoin will set up the pace for years to come.

Bitcoin has been taking lead over all other crypto but I don't think it will by any means determine their fate in succeeding as a currency as well, but base on the present situation of what we can see, bitcoin prize is not the determinant to altcoins price but it influence can alter little changes in their speculations
Little changes? If bitcoin suddenly drop by 50%, rest assured that huge majority of altcoins would go down by 90-99% and would seal their fate as many of them don't have any utility at all. We've seen it back in 2018 and it would be the same thing all over again.
3643  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Time to leave btc on: April 10, 2022, 12:47:27 PM
No movement of btc so its time to leave and come back after 2 years.
In 2 years time you will probably have less money than you would if you just kept holding bitcoin. While altcoins can outperform bitcoin in shorter period of time, when it come to longer period BTC consistently outperforms each and every alt on the market.

Its just not moving where is the daily 20-30% price swings? Of alt coins also? ,barerly 5% price moves in few days for that long you cant earn nothing with futures.
Only absolute shitcoins are moving that much regularly. Good luck dealing with those as somehow you don't give an impression of an experienced trader but more of a gambler because pro traders I know have no issue trading bitcoin with the current volatility.

So i come back after few years then lets see if they have fixed btc.
Nothing wrong with BTC so there is nothing to be fixed. If anything, it will probably be less volatile as the price and adoption go up.

3645  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What do you know about Guarda wallet on: April 10, 2022, 06:01:00 AM
Just read 1 star reviews on playstore, wouldn't bother with it, 5 star reviews look dubious to me.
While Guarda's 4.8 PlayStore rating is suspiciously high, the tactic of checking 1 star reviews can be misleading as well. Take Electrum for example; you can find 1 star reviews in which people accuse Electrum of stealing their seed and other similar nonsense, while in reality they probably installed fake Electrum or got some malware on their mobile phones. I would say, avoid both 1 star and 5 star reviews and PlayStore generally when it comes to downloading mobile phone wallet and stick to the official website.
3646  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [WARNING] Darth Protocol plagiarized Whitepaper on: April 10, 2022, 05:43:29 AM
Wrong Warrning   Undecided Undecided Undecided
What happened: Darth Protocol plagiarized from Safuu

Please verify the information as there is a logical difference between these two projects
you accused Darth of stealing the White Paper from Safuu and there is no similarity between the two
Please check the links of the two projects carefully
What are you blabbering about, can't you see the evidence provided in the first post? To realize that Darth copied Safuu you don't even have to check the whitepaper as one look at the website makes everything obvious. They couldn't even bother to change the APY (to be more precise they just rounded the 383,000% number) or how many times per day interest is sent.

By the way, are you part of the Darth team?

@Murat i see that you locked the bounty thread now, but don't you think that you should have left the warning too, explaining what happened?
3647  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Store my Crypto what is best? on: April 09, 2022, 09:44:12 PM
most users use mobile phones to manage their crypto wallets.
I seriously doubt that, or to be more precise I hope it's not true.

So it will be better to suggest a wallet that is available on mobile phones also trustworthy. I am using trust wallet since its creation time and I can say it's one of the best multi-wallet for mobile users.
Having a mobile phone wallet as your main one where you store majority (or all) of your crypto is a very bad idea and I wouldn't suggest it to anyone. Personally, for me mobile phone wallet only serves as a sort of hot wallet where I have no more than few hundreds of dollars worth of crypto at any given time.
3648  Economy / Reputation / Re: Accusing GeorgeJohn and/or KingsDen for account farming on: April 09, 2022, 04:51:58 PM
This place is so big for few spambusters to do the job; there are things that go unnoticed such as this one. You have to connect the dots.

What's caught is just a tip of the iceberg. Some time ago I started looking into what I believe is a big group of high rank accounts that are all part of the same thread bumping group, but they did such a good job that it was very hard to prove with 100% certainty that they are all part of the same group so in the end I just gave up and never even bothered to write a post about it. Sometimes you just don't have strong enough evidence and that might be the case here, unless someone digs stronger proof.

What I also found out is that KingsDen, who seems to be keen on the Gambling Discussion, didn't use to write there until he was accepted in a signature campaign which forced him to.
When it comes to adjusting posting habits to signature campaign rules, half of signature campaign participants are guilty of that, especially when it  comes to writing in gambling discussion board which is a mess due that. There are so many that have no clue what they are talking about and probably never even watched the sport they are commenting but hey, gotta fill the sig requirements. There are very few natural posters in that section while rest are writing there because they have to so I wouldn't look too much into this as something suspicious.
3649  Economy / Reputation / Re: Accusing GeorgeJohn and/or KingsDen for account farming on: April 09, 2022, 03:38:57 PM
In the past, some connection was found between users GeorgeJohn and Ebede.
Given the evidence provided, there is a pretty solid chance that those two accounts are controlled by the same person, and GeorgeJohn explanation how his friend took over control of his account as part of April 1st joke is really far fetched, on par with "dog ate my homework" excuse. Identical posting style (even more than GeorgeJohn-KingsDen) is also one of the things that connects those two accounts.

Then I saw this thread of Ratimov where he exposes RainbowKun's alts. I haven't read the entire thread, as it requires a ton of time to understand why the hell RainbowKun is judged for, to verify the evidence etc., but I saw Ratimov including KingsDen to this account farming, which is a somewhat established member. (In #6 Ratimov says he's doubtful, but he finds it likely for KingsDen to be involved in it)
Evidence provided there is kinda flimsy, or I didn't understand the basis of the connection. So, this post was used as a proof that those two accounts might be connected, but that one was just the correction of another user's post. On top of that, the very same account that is allegedly part of RainbowKun's account farm accused KingsDen of merit whoring and I kinda doubt that someone would call out his own alt account in such way, unless its all part of the show in order to farm more merit. We've seen people doing all kind of crazy stuff to scoop some merit so this is also one of the possibilities.

I am now a little skeptical that you are posting just for merit. Please do not deliberately publish some content that merit source likes, do not perform, please be the real man!

Recently, ChipMixer's campaign manager announced for opened slots. This is when it started smelling fishy to me. Quoting this message that says it all:
Yep, strange coincidence. I wonder though how KingsDen didn't end up in CM campaign, given his expertise in any given subject. Cheesy

Will be active in any board ChipMixer needs more visibility.

Their writing style is very similar.
GeorgeJohn tends to write long sentences and using comma often, while KingsDen's sentences are much shorter. I just don't know how hard would it be keep that separated and not slip occasionally.

I don't care about those two particularly, but I'm concerned that there may be some gigantic farming monster among us who's mocking everyone for good. And I'm afraid that they overfill threads, responding to themselves, loading the forum with spam just to fulfill their posting quota, which is likely hundreds of posts per week.
I would be really surprised if there's no big account farm that is milking the forum via signature campaigns, considering the fact that there are more spots in signature campaigns than there are solid posters which makes it easy for even subpar posters to get accepted.

When you look at all these little "coincidences" separately they don't mean much, but when you add them up it starts to look suspicious. In the end, its kinda hard to draw any conclusions without strong evidence like address connection.
3650  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Oscar Awards 2022 betting thread on: April 09, 2022, 11:30:21 AM
Here is the result of Oscar's board meeting, they are banning Will Smith from attending the ceremony for the next ten years

Actor Will Smith banned from attending Oscars for 10 years
I hope that stops all that nonsense about him slapping Chris was a set up while it was obvious it wasn't to anyone that knows few things about Oscars and Hollywood in general.

I think it should be a lifetime ban for showing violence around the world, the scene is very traumatic and it sets a bad precedence, he has a lifetime to regret his action and he needs a psychologist because he has an outburst of anger that he could not control.
Let's not overdo it, I would say that 10 year ban is appropriate and in the end he done enough damage to himself and his career.

How would you have reacted if you were him?
I don't know if you watched the Oscars, but he was laughing at the Rock's joke at first and only after he saw his wife's face he changed his mood. And hosts roasting the actors in the audience is standard practice on these ceremonies.

Where is the bet I can place and odds to see Will Smith win another award within a decade.
I wouldn't be so sure. Movie studios already starter delaying his movies (Bad Boys 4) and I don't see him recovering from this fast. After all, it's not like he won bunch of awards before (at least not the ones that reallyu matter) and that he will just continue with business as usual.
3651  Economy / Reputation / Re: Bitcointalk Admin Help us. on: April 09, 2022, 09:23:29 AM

So do it our job if it is too easy.
This is one of the problems, that you see it as a job and for a (slight) chance to make any decent amount of money, you have to abuse campaign rules. I have no idea whether that's true or not, but I like to think that early bounty hunters were regular supporters of the projects (and maybe even invested in it) and just did few tasks in exchange for some tokens but through the years it mutated into what we have now.

I give you 10$ work 4 week retweeted Twieet like post share, do it now It's easy.
Being easy and not being worth our time don't exclude each other. If making money is your end goal here (and based on your post history it is), there are far better ways to do it but you obviously didn't bother to check what's going on outside of bounty section.
3652  Other / Meta / Re: Advertising shiller spotted! on: April 09, 2022, 07:30:08 AM
I did make a report with a note, but the report is still unhandled to this date. Meanwhile, the user continues with his usual low level spam while linking his website.
Are the current mods having too much work to do lately?
Have you explained in detail what he is doing, using exactly the same words and only changing links? Anyway, I reported last few posts and left a little bit longer note so let's see if that helps as posts left by this guy are epitome of a low value, even by altcoin section standards where he usually spreads his stuff.

edit: all of his posts (94 in total) containing links to the website have been removed. Thnx mods!
3653  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Madeira and Prospera adopting bitcoin as legal tender on: April 09, 2022, 06:54:14 AM
Oh shit! Again!
Right now I'm furious, and 99% of that anger goes towards myself for spending hours looking at the politics of Maderia and the constitution of Portugal and their rights and I've not spent minutes listening to the declaration itself again, indeed there is no mention of anything other than no taxes.
I hope you didn't start packing your bags too in order to move to Madeira. Cheesy

I'm a little confused at this point, so what are exactly the big news regarding Madeira if bitcoin is not (yet) accepted as legal tender? Because as you pointed out cryptos (for the moment) are not taxed in Portugal unless you're a professional trader, so what are we talking about?
Yep, that's the thing; what Madeira president announced doesn't differ much (if any) from the rest of Portugal when it comes to pro-crypto laws so and his speech would go completely unnoticed if media didn't misinterpret what that host said. On top of that, I seriously doubt that Madeira president has authority to declare bitcoin being legal tender before Portugal does the same (or unless they allow them) as from what I read, they don't even have autonomy on their own budget.

3654  Other / Meta / Re: [Report] Ban Evasion [Requesting Admin/mod to check those and ban] on: April 08, 2022, 02:23:25 PM
You are a liar. You are helping @Pandu Geddon and making false accusations against me. @Pandu Geddon changing my metakings bounty report. It's not my metakings Bounty's report. You are changing the profile link of Twitter and Facebook.
My correct Metakings bounty week#2 Report : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5377898.msg58891556#msg58891556
Buddy, he is not lying and nobody is setting you up, people have better things to do than conspire against bounty hunter spammers. What you obviously don't know is that all posts are archived so even if you change the post its still possible to see the unedited version and that's how you got caught.
3655  Local / Off-topic (Hrvatski) / Re: Kutak za kulturni trenutak on: April 08, 2022, 01:30:53 PM

Meni je mnogo bolja mini-serija The Dropout, pogledajte ako želite saznati koliko daleko ljudi mogu ići u laganju.
3656  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: OWNR Wallet! Buy, exchange and store crypto. Order Visa prepaid card! on: April 08, 2022, 01:15:30 PM
We have nothing to do with the projects posted on this forum, except for this thread (and Visa cards affiliate program from OWNR). Thank you for your feedback!
Yeah I know that you don't have anything with those projects, that's not what I said. But what is obvious here is that someone from your team hired the shillers and they are working across several different threads, including yours and as I said before, they didn't come to this thread by mistake.
3657  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Madeira and Prospera adopting bitcoin as legal tender on: April 08, 2022, 12:56:29 PM
Wait, that's not true.
No one there is making Bitcoin legal tender. That's not what the president said!
If this is the video of the speech from Bitcoin conference that started this news and that you are referring to, I must say that I agree with you. Madeira president didn't say anything about bitcoin becoming legal tender so I have no clue how could someone get that impression. Unless he said more things that are not in that YouTube video.
3658  Economy / Economics / Re: The first country in Europe to pay for gas to Russia in rubles on: April 08, 2022, 07:41:00 AM
Until we get a definitive confirmation, we can't really accuse. However, if it is true, I can't really be surprised by it. After all, the catholic church (or any other church) is not really altruistic as they portray themselves to be and mostly work for its own interests. Their condemnation of the war was lackluster and their overall value to the general public is completely unexistent. So buying gas for Rbles would definitely not be beneath them.
According to this article the Russian guy who started this rumour  confirmed that it's been a joke. Its more rule than exception, that some nonsense shared on social media goes viral, and even the choice of the country tell us that this has been a joke. I do agree though that. Agree with the rest of the stuff though.

The Vatican will never do that, because they are Catholics and there are only an estimated 140 000 Catholics left in Russia (0.1% of the total population.) Russian Orthodoxy make up almost 86.7% of the religion used in Russia.
Vatican will never do that because Italy takes care of that stuff from them but even if they did, number of Catholics in Russia wouldn't be any deciding factor.
3659  Economy / Reputation / Re: Taken Actions ( Ukan ) on: April 07, 2022, 05:53:10 PM
Our team mainly works with escrow - so that bounty hunters are not cheated and always get their rewards. Always worked with kindness to all participants, for which we are respected.
Good to hear that you are taking care of bounty hunters, but have you ever thought about people who might invest in this scam because of you and all those bounty hunters that joined the bounty campaign?

A few days ago we discovered a thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5391087.msg59768476#msg59768476
where there were traces of plagiarism of the UKAN project, for which I, as the manager of the bounty campaign https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5391071.0.
Whether whitepaper is plagiarized or not is completely irrelevant in this case and if I stumbled upon your thread sooner I would tag you just for advertising an obvious scam. One look at the Ukan website and it's obvious that this is nothing but a cheap attempt to profit from the ongoing situation in Ukraine and nothing else. Can you honestly believe that a completely anonymous team will use the funds raised in order to help the people of Ukraine? I see that you have been in crypto for a while so surely you are not that naive.

You also didn't answer what I caught about plagiarism last December, even I sent a PM to you, it's been ignored until now, and you can check the previous catch. [WARNING] Moon Rocket Coin Plagiarized Whitepaper

I don't know why your management doesn't check all the bounties that will be launched, but if you look closely you might also find something wrong but the truth behind all this is your level of greed.
I wanted to comment earlier that even a reputable and experienced manager may miss plagiarized whitepaper, but to completely ignore the warning is something entirely different and shows that this was not an exception but their M.O.
3660  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: OWNR Wallet! Buy, exchange and store crypto. Order Visa prepaid card! on: April 07, 2022, 02:31:53 PM
@Dancing_Coin I don't know whether you or someone else from OWNR wallet team hired these thread bumpers that are faking the interest in your thread, but it ain't cool at all. These bumping services usually don't care who they promote, so the same accounts that promoted scams are also "working" working in your thread too. Take for example Iminingpro that recently left the comment here; that account is promoting several other shady projects and on top of that I tagged him for ponzi promotion.

You may say that you have nothing to do with these accounts, but they don't go around the forum and write in the same thread or promote same projects for free. If you want more proof, check accounts like i8v8i and Lunafox that are already tagged for being a part of sock puppet group of the accounts, and many more in this thread that are just waiting to be tagged for the same thing.

If you can't afford signature campaign or don't want to have one, it's not the solution to hire bunch of scam shillers like you did and it will have the opposite effect from the one you hoped for.
