Even if he does everything according to contract.

Stopping payout to drive the prize down just to make a buyback far below the IPO Prise / the prise it was traded before the announcement is scamming. (At least it is bending the contract in a fraudulent way)

If Time shows that he really did it this way than he is a scammer, IMO.

If he buy back shares for the average prize before his announcement to stop payouts, than don't.

Half of this forum got in to get filthy rich. Grin

I thought bitcoin would have made me a quattuordecillionaire by now, but it hasn't.

Damn you bitcoin.
3644  Economy / Securities / Re: TYGRR.* assets on GLBSE delisted. on: September 26, 2012, 09:01:38 AM
I personally have no problem that GLBSE delists some assets. IMO, they even have to delist some assets.

I only have a problem with they way this was handled. This seems really unprofessional.

A Professional solution would have been (could still be) (IMO, of course):

  • Notify Goat that his assets will be delisted, give him one week time to work out a exit strategy.
  • After that week make a public notification or a user notification on GLBSE, with a link to a thread where Goat has a chance to present his exit strategy
  • Give him at least 3 Weeks Time for his exit

Why has this to be done so suddenly?
This precedent that any asset could be kicked of immediately, if the issuer just pissed you off enough may give some people a uneasy feeling.

what i dont like about this is:
 - whoever sees that message first (this includes bond issuer) has the opportunity to sell all at a (relative) high price
 - if someone does not want to sell his assets they are stolen

this could even be used to scam people.

open a ponzi like asset
wait for glbse to close it
profit for bond issuer because he decided his exit strategy is "people: sell all of your shares"

i dont think there should be any way a market place can delist an asset EXCEPT no one (except issuer) holds shares.

Where did I say, that the exit strategy will be set in stone because the issuer says so? He still has to stay by his contract (so nobody gets shares stolen, no profit for the issuer by saying shareholder have to do as he says). But he could buyback shares according to contract or make arrangements with another exchange (for example.)

Still better than Nefario just hitting a Killswitch

3648  Other / Off-topic / Re: As the oldest miner in the forum, I declare... on: September 25, 2012, 08:06:38 PM
I've been thinking of raising my bet to 1000 BTC but there is no way she/he/it can prove she/he/it was mining in 2009.
She/he/it can offer someone a few coins who was mining in 2009 for a scam to deliver "proof"

, or maybe he is a woman and he's getting boned by a miner-friend/husband and will ask him to deliver proof, which is also scamming the bet. But i doubt it's a woman.

If someone can think of a way to prove he has been mining since 2009, personally!
And not deliver "proof" coming from friends/family or payed for proof, then i will raise my bet to 1000 BTC.

Of course there is a way. All he needs to do is send coins from an address which found a block in 2009.

He could have get the private key for that address another way, but that's very unlikely.
3649  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Vimeo plans tip jar using Credit Cards, lets get them to accept Bitcoins on: September 25, 2012, 07:16:01 PM
Hello together,

I just stumbled over this: http://vimeo.com/blog/post:523

This would be a good implemention for bitcoins. Sadly I found no contact information on the side.

Does someone know this side / know how to get in contact with them and is able to write them a introduction into Bitcoin better than I would with my weak English?

3650  Other / Off-topic / Re: Have you ever encountered other beings or aliens? on: September 25, 2012, 06:51:38 PM
Why has nobody (reliable) seen aliens.

Just imagine, you are on a spaceship travelling through space then you notice a potential planet for having live. You come closer, it's a green planet with plenty of water. Live definitely exist. Just before you land you do the routine scan.

You shipmate says to you: "The planed hast 8 Billion intelligent beings on a industrial level. They seem to just have invented cryptocurrency."

You: "Well awesome, lets land!"

He: "They are 8 Billion, but they have build enough thermonuclear weapon to kill 50 Billion."

Well if that's not a big "leave us alone sign", than what is?
3651  Economy / Securities / Re: TYGRR.* assets on GLBSE delisted. on: September 25, 2012, 02:08:50 PM
Nefario, what do you expect me to do with this code now?

Nefario, is that's how PPT peddlers are removed form the equation?
Goat is down, but what about the rest of the jokers?
If they had any BTC in GLBSE, will this be redistributed to PPT holders?

Are you willing to work with another exchange and figure out how to transfer the delisted shares and user data (name, share balance etc)?

He probably would do that if one offered that isnt MPEX  Smiley

MPEx was never open for the sort of crud GLBSE lists.

Please stop bashing at GLBSE: That's no the point of this discussion.

And if you want to be a serious concurrent, work on you site, it's unusable for anyone not suffering from a Savant syndrome.

Back to topic:

Nefario, I can understand you are upset, but please try for a moment to see it from the perspective from Tygrr shareholders. Removing all Tygrr assets instantly, without further notice to the shareholders is like a punch in the face from you to all Tygrr shareholders.

Please reconsider this.
3652  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Scammer - Goat on: September 25, 2012, 12:38:19 PM
Don't think he's a scammer "per se", the correct "tag" would be: Level 2 of Morality Development! Grin

Quote
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lawrence_Kohlberg's_stages_of_moral_development
Stage two (self-interest driven) espouses the "what's in it for me" position, in which right behavior is defined by whatever is in the individual's best interest. Stage two reasoning shows a limited interest in the needs of others, but only to a point where it might further the individual's own interests. As a result, concern for others is not based on loyalty or intrinsic respect, but rather a "You scratch my back, and I'll scratch yours." mentality.[2] The lack of a societal perspective in the pre-conventional level is quite different from the social contract (stage five), as all actions have the purpose of serving the individual's own needs or interests. For the stage two theorist, the world's perspective is often seen as morally relative.

Wow, I didn't know there where such classification. That's exactly what I thought what Goats problem is, but failed to describe it.

I don't mean that offensive. That is just really the way I think Goat ticks.
3653  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Nefario GLBSE on: September 25, 2012, 10:22:40 AM
Goat:

GLBSE is a startup and always when you start something new some mistakes are made.

I take it you did even make a huge Profit (in %) trading these shares so on the contrary to the people who bought this shares from you, no financial damage was done to you.

I don't here the people who where damaged by this scam complaining.

Couldn't you just call this a mistake and leave it be?

Must you really fight this to the bitter end? This whole thing has already escalated to much.

Just think for a moment of the possible outcomes if you go through with this to the bitter end:

  • Nefario gives in --> You can keep you shares, but trading gets frozen and a warning added that this are not real GLBSE shares (so no naive noob buys them
  • Nefario "wins" --> You loose you shares and get nothing
  • You "win" --> Nefario gets a Scammer tag, you still get nothing, but you destroyed the most promising BTC Stock exchange

(I now I'm overdrawing a little)

Or you just give in and walk out of this with a profit, whats the harm in that?

You might not be up to date but Nefario delisted all of my assets, closed my GLBSE account, took my shares and has my BTC.

That's what I meant when I said: "This whole thing has already escalated to much."

I takes you both to deescalate this, but you have started this and I think its up to you to take the first step.

This will only work out if both of you swallow their pride and work towards an agreement you could both live with.

Of Nefario I got the impression that he would do so (I could be wrong of course).

Just as Note: You have reached a compromise if both partys are unsatisfied with the solution.

Well, if you are serious with your offer. there is a conflict between Goat and Nefario that is currently escalating.

See: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=112071.0 and https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=112551.0

I think that's the current conflict with the most public attention here. A good opportunity for you to do some marketing. Maybe offer your service this one time for free and show public that you are truly able to deescalate such conflicts.

3658  Economy / Services / Re: Bitcoin Dispute Resolution Mediation Services on: September 25, 2012, 06:10:04 AM
I think it would help your start if you would only charge payment if both partys came to an agreement for the first couple of cases (lets say first 5?), to make yourself and your service a name.

Also, many disputes go on over what something is worth in BTC. In that case you would have a conflict of interest yourself, as you get paid more if you work both partys towards the higher sum. How would you handle that?
3659  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: EskimoBob is a scammer, witness reports inside on: September 24, 2012, 09:17:43 PM

If this continues with that speed 50% of the forum members will be labelled scammers within the next 3 Month.
3660  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Nefario GLBSE on: September 24, 2012, 02:13:08 PM
Just how much do you think GLBSE will be worth when people know you own part of it ?

Doesn't matter anymore. If Nefario just does nothing, everthing will be fine:

Yes, I just want to keep my GLBSE asset.

I am not asking a price. However I would like them to be converted to valid GLBSE stock but since I do not have a contract with Nefario I can not force the issue.

However I will not just consent to him paying me a token for this asset. I do not consent to him taking my "worthless" asset. If it really was worthless Nefario should just leave it be.
