3641  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Cryptopia hack leads to ‘significant losses’ on: January 25, 2019, 02:37:09 PM
Thanks for the link. On this blog, they say that it seems that Cryptopia maybe don't have access to thoses 76K wallets. They are real newbies if they didn't have any backup saved somewhere and written on some papers.
They have backup or not it's useless if the funds are directly stolen which was actually happened on cryptopia.

Let's hope the hacker(s) only hack their hot wallet, because if it's not, then Cryptopia is really doomed.
Well, if cryptopia only has hot wallets or their funds stored in hot wallets are much higher than in their cold wallet then it's the same synopsis.

The most stupid scenario if cryptopia or any exchange only store their funds to a hot wallet coz when there's a breach of security it's obvious that most of their funds will be lost.
3642  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: www.myqbtc.com is scammers on: January 25, 2019, 09:28:31 AM
Ok, guys, can you move this topic to correct forum thread?
There's a move topic control in the lower left when you scroll down this thread and find in the option (Economy -- Scam accusation) make sure you follow the format that was mentioned above.
3643  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: www.myqbtc.com is scammers on: January 25, 2019, 07:13:10 AM
What actually you're trying to emphasize here? They are scammers because "they display out one coin for another"?

If you think they are scammers for some reason, and you have all the valid proof(s), then you can open a scam accusation against them.
3644  Other / Meta / Re: [Userscript] Report to moderator on post history on: January 25, 2019, 07:01:59 AM
- Show a banned status on a profile if a user is banned, after getting details from seclog?
I'll be on to this.

- Provide accessible buttons with links for modlog, seclog etc on the top bar area next to the my messages menu?
Maybe admins can put it on the MORE tab/menu

- Ability to view trust across all boards, since a few boards hide them, including meta.
As with the discussions on some thread, it will be helpful in the local board to show the trust score, not necessary in off-topic, archival board and Politics & Society.

Also, make the Trust depth to 4 as default (currently 2), since there are instances that only DT3-4 leave some -ve trust to some scammers but these newbies or any rank cannot see those feedbacks and still continue to trade and end up of being scammed.
3645  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Which exchanges use proper security? on: January 25, 2019, 06:43:31 AM
I bet there's no technical data for this as no one can examine every security system in any exchange, only some phrases that they have like this and like that but in the end someone still breaches the system and worst hackers managed to disembark its funds. You can see some articles/data/chart/table for this on the internet though but idk if how they manage to conclude those rating numbers without weighing the internal security, I mean on how secured the exchange, in backend process.
3646  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin with capital "B" and bitcoins with lowercase "b" on: January 24, 2019, 03:25:42 PM
We are Bitcoiners and bitcoins are our currency.
And we are BitCoinTalkerS Tongue
Indeed. Just wondering to ask, did you know these two terminology before? Honestly speaking it's a new learning for me though.

I always thought about the plural of Bitcoin (correct name is bitcoins which we know now).

Now I am thinking it's bitcoins which represents both singular and plural logically I guess. Can anyone correct me?
And also Bitcoin is most commonly used for the term of the technology itself while bitcoin is as you mentioned.
3647  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: The Ledger Nano S firmware 1.5.5 update on: January 24, 2019, 09:04:49 AM
Ledger Nano already supports ERC20 in 1.4.X in Metamask. Meaning on the app side on the ledger everything needed is already there...
It's because metamask is different from ledger live, and many users want to use the ledger live as all in one wallet software with nano s without any other third party app.

3648  Other / Meta / Re: Banned account. on: January 24, 2019, 07:59:48 AM
When did the ban happen? Base on bpip.org of Vod, the account is not yet banned and was parsed 8 hours ago upon posting this post. The parse happened before you posted this thread.

Just wondering if someone is trolling with random account.
You may not be mistaken here.
3649  Other / Meta / Re: Where should I post? on: January 24, 2019, 07:47:29 AM
What project is this you're talking about? If it's related to any altcoins , ICO, etc. then yes, you can post it on Announcements (Altcoins).

If it's related on services such as exchange, mixers, online shop/marketplace, etc. then Service Announcements might be a good place.
3650  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Crypterra Scam? They also cheated you? on: January 24, 2019, 03:22:05 AM
Just beware on many cloud mining sites most of them are scam.
Or all of them are designed to scam, they pay first then slowly scamming by eating their deposits for the maintenance fee, close your account for no reason, declare as hacked, or totally run their user's funds.

That's why it's not new to us if some cloud mining sites become scam or so.
3651  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Have you heared about Cryptohelix.net? on: January 23, 2019, 05:42:37 PM
There's no use of reviewing the site, from the look of its logo to whole site's design, its almost the same or even 100% copy-paste from cex.io website.

So don't ever use that site, red flags everywhere.
3652  Other / Meta / Re: My account banned on: January 23, 2019, 05:37:21 PM
What actually the message you got in red text on your profile?

Assuming if its permaban due to plagiarism or any other reason, your account (Sindicatout) is in ban evasion and should be ban as well as the forum rule says.
3653  Other / Archival / Re: Bitcointalk.org related 1 more website is live on: January 23, 2019, 01:09:46 PM
Bitcointalk.org related 1 more website is live

cointalkforum.com

Bitcointalk is not related to this website. Do not spread misinformation.

It is ok to advertise some website here, but not to lie about it.
I guess there's a misinterpretation here, I bet OP want to say is that there's a bitcoin-related forum website which was mentioned.
3654  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Localbitcoins seller trying Skrill scam? on: January 23, 2019, 02:28:04 AM
Thanks for the replies. I opened a dispute right after he sent me the message claiming to not have received anything, and he ignored all my messages. LBC staff asked me for a screencast showing that payment was sent and I provided it, after that they asked him to do the same in his acccount to show whether or not payment was actually received, and gave him a 12 hour deadline to do so... of course right before the deadline, I get this response:

"Hello, it turned out that it was a system skrill failure. Therefore, the payment was not displayed in the transaction. Now the problem is solved. I hope for your understanding, as well as apologize for such a long delay."

I don't believe a word of that; the jackass clearly thought it would be easier to scam than it turned out to be. What an idiot.
Considering that the issue was resolved and you receive your bitcoin from the seller already, I guess you should stay away from that seller now if you ever want to buy again in localbitcoins though also leave an honest feedback with his scam attempt so people will be aware of that.
3655  Local / Pilipinas / Re: ROGER VER AT CRAIG WRIGHT on: January 22, 2019, 05:07:57 PM
I guess you have to read more in bitcoin/wikipedia or some crypto media site like bitcoin magazine. This topic has too broad to discuss and may kanya kanyang paniniwala each everyone here, there are debates from famous people/dev in crypto about this as well.

To give you some facts, hindi si Ver si satoshi.
Ver is known as one of the early investor of bitcoin, at co/owner ng bitcoin.com.

Si craig naman, I doubt na siya si Satoshi and most in bitcoin community do pero may iba na naniniwala idk if sino sino sila. Just keep your own research then analyze things then ikaw mag husga.

Btw welcome to crypto community (if ever~)
3656  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: The Ledger Nano S firmware 1.5.5 update on: January 21, 2019, 05:29:53 PM
I believe it is the ETH app that is causing the issues... without it, I can install BTC (and all the derivativee coins BCH, BTG, DOGE and LTC) and STELLAR and the "recovery check" app.
Yes, this is correct since the update covers for ETH app as grows in size as erc20 tokens will be available in the ledger live app soon.

An update from Ledger
Our engineers are working on a solution to optimize the size of the ETH app, while preserving token support. The solution will take several weeks to be deployed but will enable you to install more apps than is currently possible with firmware 1.5.5.

Disclaimer: I didn't update my ledger yet.
3657  Other / Meta / Re: [To Theymos] Why Was My Account Got banned? on: January 21, 2019, 08:48:02 AM

Aside from that, you should add this one as well (quoted below).

I am so sorry for this, I must say this is the first and last time that I have made this mistake.
This is the first I guess. Oh, I mean last, maybe

It will be interesting LALA Wallet to start with will be able to do Prepaid, DTH and Data Card top-ups and recharges online of around 29 different service providers. Looks like big news are coming soon.
A user with LALA Wallet to start with will be able to do Prepaid, DTH and Data Card top-ups and recharges online of around 29 different service providers.

Now just keep your excuses
3658  Other / Off-topic / Re: A KYC database sold on the Darkweb ? on: January 20, 2019, 06:56:56 PM
VPN + download Google Auth for PC = No more KYC  Cheesy
I tried as a test 1 year ago and I successfully bypass all KYC verifications, I forgot on which one of exchanges... it was one of the most popular.
What kind of KYC procedure does that service/site have if it only needs google auth and VPN.

That's why KYC is bullsh*t from projects who want to run their ICO. ICO and mostly the scam once required KYC, then sold it to some people who needs personal info since data == money. I only do KYC to services I needed the most and a reputed service especially to convert crypto to fiat, but taking kyc to ICO or bounties or any shady exchange? Thanks but no thanks.

And this reddit user/hacker trying to sell them at very cheap price means that more people will get access of that info and possible, it will be leaked even in google. And after several time, this people who doesn't care their privacy will see their names used to scam someone in the internet because of identity theft.
3659  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Manny Pacquaio vs. Adrien Broner on: January 20, 2019, 02:53:43 PM
Manny Pacquiao solved THE Problem Adrien Broner!
Yeah he solved the problem Cheesy. Broner almost knocked down twice in the 2nd half of the round. I didn't expect any knockdown or knockout in this game because I know that Broner is strong. Well, we know already that Pacquiao have some tools left to defeat some young players right there. What you think?? Pacquiao Mayweather part 2 or another challenger again for Pacquiao? We are happy for the win of our fellow warrior Smiley
A win is a win and its so nice to see him fighting even his older than his opponents, Broner is just like gayweather keeps on running knowing that Manny is really a strong fighter, he avoided the KO and resolve his problem, paycheck will give him a lots to  enjoy fighting the legend, same question with the rematch or might be another young blood who also wanted to test Manny's fist.
LOL, but I have heard the news that Mr. Broner will going to file a protest. He insisted that he beat Manny in their game. Well, how could he beat Manny when he always run? Anyway, he had also made some counter punch using his job but Manny got more punches compared to him. If he will only like to win the game then he should make.more points and avoid more punches so that Manny could not scored out just like what Mayweather has done.
Let him protest Cheesy. And all I saw is only a left counter from him no right blows if there is I guess once in a round or so.

And how he can win with his 50 landed punches out of 295 while pacquiao landed 112. Anyway I'm proud of broner did last until 12 rounds.  Cheesy
3660  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Localbitcoins seller trying Skrill scam? on: January 20, 2019, 09:49:55 AM
Please wait for the seller reply's you or you should give all the transaction details to the seller since he said that he didn't receive the amount.

Well, I can't assure that the seller is the real owner of the account, since selling/buying LBC account is not that new.

But as I recall skrill do have a chargeback, so that's only your option if the lbc seller really is a scammer, the only thing I have no idea is how you can do it in skrill, if what are the requirements or days before you can apply a chargeback request.
