3641  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin as a gift cards on: March 11, 2021, 07:18:22 AM
It is just another use case of bitcoin to make the no coiners use it easily. But it is no different from the way we spend it for purchasing things, online or physically.

It may seem easy to hear as you can receive or give bitcoins as a gift card for the receiver has to spend it or can simply do the same as we do and that is to hold too.

That depends on the end user for how they wanted to utilize the gift they have received. I would like to suggest, that having gift like digital currency should be cherished and don't spend it at glance. Take it as most valuable, because bitcoin nowadays became so expensive and we don't know we might see that the price would go beyond limitations. Profit would certainly become more efficient as time gets older.
That's what I'm actually saying. The receiver can do anything that he wants. He/she can use it like the way we use it. And they also have an option to hold it just like the normal strategy that we do on it and treats it as an investment.

AFAIK, there were many in the past that have received a gift in the form of bitcoin and this will continue. Those receivers, if they're wise up to keep it as they know the true value of it, that's a better decision for them to choose rather than spending it quickly. Although, that's what it should be.
3642  Economy / Economics / Re: Bangladesh militants use Bitcoins for laundering money to Kashmir on: March 10, 2021, 10:26:06 AM
If terrorist organizations can use bitcoin to access it, I think that it is definitely a big deal.
Any medium of exchange and has monetary value, they will use it and there is no exception, like us, we can also use it for anything we will use it.

It has always been a big deal because it is the belief what bitcoin is used for, negatively. But just as the same as fiat money, it can used for every purpose that we use.

3644  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do You Trust In-House Casino Competition? (Wager/Multiplier/Raffle) on: March 10, 2021, 07:15:30 AM
If it is coming from a reputable casino, I wouldn't doubt the competition that they held and the stats that they show. That is why their reputation is for.

About the leaderboards, yes, sometimes it is doubting if they have actually won the prize but I would still trust if that is coming from the very reputed casino. Otherwise, if it is from an unknown casino, it is normal to suspect.
3645  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Blockchain.com Wallet Outage on: March 10, 2021, 01:28:34 AM
They claim to have fixed the issue - unfortunately for me - I'm still not receiving email authorizations to login to my wallet, which I haven't received for about 3 weeks now...
I lately see that problem with email. It's on your account's problem and I've tried my old account there if I'll still receive an email, and I did. Still, got no reply from the support?

When I've done that before, it only took me not that much but just for few hours.

It is already a sign to switch to other Bitcoin wallet.
I think why there are still lot of people using this Bitcoin wallet is because first, user friendly. New in Bitcoin will attract to this Bitcoin wallet since it is very easy to create, email address only which they don't know using centralized or custodian wallet is really not good.
Most of the new bitcoin people have used the wallet because of the word "blockchain". I've used it before when I was a newbie because I thought it was the official bitcoin blockchain wallet because of the domain.  Tongue
3646  Economy / Economics / Re: Venezuela Planning New 100,000-Bolivar Bills Worth Just $0.23 on: March 10, 2021, 12:16:35 AM
I would be very careful with buying currencies during hyper inflationary periods, especially when it's physical currency.
It's possible that these people who are buying it are just for collecting purposes. It's part of history and having them will give you the pride that one day you've been holding that part of a historical moment when a lot of cash you have in your hand but the value is just cents.

It might be very hard to sell the notes again and eventually might be worthless. The thing with countries who experience high inflation is that there is no end in sight. Once investors lose faith in a currency it is very hard to get it back.
They knew where the value of these currency notes are going and that's why before it goes bad or it totally gets to zero, they own it. This is like owning a shitcoin but you actually holding it physically and thus, there's the historical value that you may earn it someday or just for the sake of owning it like having a toy collection.
3647  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Cryptocurrency Exchange on: March 09, 2021, 06:23:18 PM
No one knows exactly when, but the govenrment is expected to ban all “private” cryptocurrency in India and simultaneously announce a sovereign digital currency sometime “soon”.
Isn't it that it's already been an issue that there's already a ban there?

This despite numerous appeals from the industry, and a failed attempt by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) at sneaking in a ban in 2018 by preventing banks from touching crypto. The Supreme Court ruled this ban was unconstitutional last March. The first sale of an item using Bitcoin takes place, with a customer swapping 10,000 Bitcoin for two pizzas. This attaches a cash value to the cryptocurrency for the first time.
That was part of the history and I don't see that there's any connection from the ban. Even though the SC ruled and said that it's unconstitutional, the RBI is persistent of pushing the ban.
3648  Economy / Economics / Re: Why not "COVID" vaccine passports on a blockchain ID on: March 09, 2021, 11:10:46 AM
Because it cannot be modified and with the details and information about the covid vaccine passport, there's still a huge debate towards it. It's still not acceptable for them to use such system like blockchain. And it's about the approval of the government.

As you know, they're not too knowledgeable about blockchain and crypto. And if they'll hear a solution for the vaccine passport like blockchain, the first thing that would come to their minds is that it's only about crypto.
3649  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Best gambling site for esport? on: March 09, 2021, 09:53:41 AM
•Onehash
I used to bet there before and it's one of the sportsbooks that I like. But you need to know mate that they've updated their casino and removed the esports betting.

There's no more esports betting on onehash. You can check it for yourself.
Really? Onehash already removed sportsbetting option in their site? and also i noticed that they are not conducting their Signature campaign in Bitcointalk things that they use to do back days , that every 4-6 months they are having a campaign for 4 weeks each time.
Yes, they did. Check it out and most of the games you'll find out that are active are casino games. They have various games and even live virtual sports but esports have been removed.

And with their signature campaign, it's been a long time since they've conducted one in the forum. We don't know if they'll run one again in the future.
3650  Economy / Economics / Re: PayPal buys Cryptofirm Curv on a quest to avoid holding private keys on: March 09, 2021, 08:45:59 AM
Nice one, more people will see my private keys and they will store it somewhere "safe", the customers of this firms are going to be experiencing a Mt. Gox like incident and they don't know it yet but it will definitely happen. I don't get the point of not safekeeping your own private key, I mean what part of the word "private" do they not understand?
I'll only take the good news about PayPal purchasing the firm as it's a crypto firm but I do agree with what you're thinking. I have read what does it mean for them but I'm still confused about their business model.

But maybe you'll get some idea about its description about the MPC technology that Curv offers.

The company offers multiparty computation security technology that it says is a critical requirement to transfer, store and manage any digital asset safely on any blockchain or distributed ledger. Curv’s keyless MPC technology and tech stack enables the delivery of customized digital asset security solutions that are both scalable and adaptable with support hot, warm and cold wallet configurations as well as all tokens and protocols.

Traditional public key infrastructure on blockchains offer single private keys for access, creating what Curv argues introduces a single point of failure. MPC eliminates private keys, signing every transaction in a secure, distributed way to protect against cyberbreaches, physical damage and insider collusion. The technology is described as more efficient and lower cost than multisignature wallets by simplifying management, network fees and hidden gas costs. Customers using Curv’s MPC technology save 60% to 70% in transaction costs, the company said.

With this acquisition, PayPal is getting ready for a better service that they can offer. I hope that they'll improve.
3651  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC is over $54,000, hold or sell? on: March 09, 2021, 07:23:48 AM
Suppose as an individual, will you sell your bitcoins at a good price or just hold them?
HODL.

If holding them, when to sell?
When you're satisfied with the profits. It's actually your decision and you can listen or not to the suggestion of others. We have different situations in life and for people like me, I can endure of not selling it and hold it until I can.

But for you, you don't have to be dependent with others words. If you're thinking of selling it as you have plans to do something for the profits you'll be taking then do it.

If I didn't sell, no chance to get more coins.
You can always accumulate at any price if you want to but if that's what you think, follow your heart. But for some of us, we'll hold.
3652  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Where does Elon and Saylor store their bitcoins? on: March 08, 2021, 08:47:09 PM
I've watched a video from an exchange which I forgot the name but it's located in Japan. They have a hardware wallet that's dedicated to the bitcoins that they hold.

And the place where it is stored is in a vault for which only a few staff and officials of the company know the password. What I think is probably they do the same that they have a safety vault and the hardware wallet is placed there.

It is possible that with hardware wallets they can be safer to store the large amount of btc that has been purchased to invest, but is that really true by storing in a safe or can you say a safe? Maybe also for extra security so that no one knows the password.

In fact, I don't really think about it, but what plans do they have in the future for the number of bitcoins, will there be some control later, or do they plan to sell more expensive for a long time?

Doesn't Elon Musk keep it on hardware too?
Yet it continues to create hype.
Yes, the one that I've watched have stored it in a vault and no one is allowed to enter on that room where it's placed but only for the few people that are allowed which are the highest officials and trusted staffs.

The plan is to hold and for sure they will sell it for profits. Everyone who invests for bitcoin never hold it for nothing but to take profits when the right time comes.

Doesn't Elon Musk keep it on hardware too?
Yet it continues to create hype.
Nobody knows. He hasn't said a thing about his storage/wallet.
3653  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Can Go $100K Within End Of This Year(2021)? on: March 08, 2021, 04:53:38 PM
That's the prediction that everyone has been telling.

2022--?
Bitcoin can go moon $100K within end of this year(2021)...?
Maybe the same as end of 2020 up to this time. The market has been bullish so if that's going to happen by the end of 2021 then that can last up to 2022. The peak was $58,000 and that's already 58% of 100%.

3655  Economy / Economics / Re: Tweets as Non-fungible tokens (NFT) - Dorsey's million dollar tweet on: March 08, 2021, 09:13:53 AM
Am I the only person who can't understand what are NFT tweets needed for? I also can't understand this NFT craze.
I'm still in the sense of understanding about it but, the easiest word for us to understand is that it's about ownership of a digital thing. Whether it is a historical tweet or those digital arts that can be made online and by buying it will make you the owner of it.

It's a craze just as the ICO but this time, the product isn't consistent as the tokens before. But it can be different things that can be sold online as an NFT. I'm still learning to know more about it because it just popped like mushrooms and it's everywhere.
3656  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Binance Savings on: March 07, 2021, 08:10:02 PM
I like Binance as an exchange but being a savings place for my coins, I wouldn't take the risk for that low interest rates. I won't hand over any amount of bitcoin there for that savings option. But probably if I've got some of those altcoins on that list that I don't much worry about, maybe it's worth to try.

I'll keep my bitcoin on my hardware wallet than to put it there. There's no interest rate that I'll get per year but I'm leaning to the rise that it gets from time to time and probably another breakout for a new ATH coming soon. That's easier and convenient.
3657  Economy / Economics / Re: Am I too late to Bitcoin? on: March 07, 2021, 06:49:07 PM
Bitcoin is deflation so if it's currently high price or expensive for the new comers, they will eventually see another higher price and more expensive price in the future because of many factors.

The halving effect and the scarcity because of its limited supply. If they have come to understand those few factors, they'll realize that it's never too late to invest.
3658  Economy / Gambling / Re: bustadice – Next Generation Dice on: March 07, 2021, 09:22:03 AM
Just summing up profits of all the alt accounts on Bustadice, it's around 159B.
I lost around 50B on Bustabit before. So the net profit is around 100B.
A massive 100 bitcoin winning this can only happen on bustadic not minding your loses on bustabit, with your current winning I guest you will easily forget your loses of the past.
He had already deducted his losses on bustabit and that's essential for someone who lists every lose and win in his gambling. Just like someone who records his profits and losses.

100BTC in total.

I'm speechless, he's able to recover his 50BTC loss and having a net profit of 100BTC. That's enormous considering the price of bitcoin today.
3659  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin consumes 'more electricity than Argentina' on: March 06, 2021, 08:47:03 PM
I think that I've seen the same article before and they've been comparing the energy consumption of bitcoin miners to any country. But they ignore those companies that also consume a lot of energy that contributes global warming.

As usual, these articles have their own agenda to pick whatever they wanted to say and it's not that encouraging to read if you have already an idea of what it is all about.
