1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bull in Altcoins Sector on: May 05, 2024, 10:45:21 PM
Everyone is waiting for bull season but nobody knows when it will be happened but we are just keep waiting. And recently Btc got so expensive and some altcoins also got expensive with Bitcoin but not all altcoins are flying. Altcoins pumped to in march but then dump in April. I saw many good altcoins dumped. But when bull season start, they'll obviously raise up from their position. Although bull season is unknown but atleast we can get prepared and purchase some good altcoins for bull season
It is unknown when to actually happen but we have some idea when it's going to start. And as long as the halving of Bitcoin is done, we know that we're near to the bull run.

The matter of what a crypto folk needs to do is to be patient this time. Those who are impatient, can't wait any longer and that's what they keep on looking for, profits.

But as they take profits, they are not ready to take it when their coins move to the top but instead, they're waiting again because of their greediness.
2  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How much of my salary should I use to gamble on: May 05, 2024, 05:09:11 PM
Gambling is becoming a popular thing in my locality almost everyone gamble and even colleagues gamble and engage in gambling related discussions at work,  so gambling is legal and very popular so there is no Shame in using part of a salary to gamble with that is why I am asking the question of what the right percentage from my salary that I should use to gamble?
You should know that by yourself because you know the cost of living wherever you are right now and how much expenses do you usually pay with your salary.

We're from different places and that's why my suggestion might not fit to you but if it's just about giving a percentage then a solid 5% is already enough if you're the casual type of gambler.

But you might go further if you want to because you understand your needs and how much you're willing to lose.
3  Economy / Economics / Re: The role of private sector involvement in Economic growth on: May 05, 2024, 03:32:00 PM
All over the world it's private sector that has helped the economy of nations, private sector involvement is needed for economic stabilization as government only can't do this alone
This is true.

Look at how the big tech companies invest in the developing economies because they want to help and at the same time profit from the situation that they're dealing with. This is the reason why there's the government-private sector partnership in many countries and they're both helping each other.

Private individuals are encouraged to start up business for the purpose of profit making in so doing they're in turn creating wealth
Let take an example of say an individual who is interested in sports business and brings out money to setup a football team, first the person will start by employing young youths and them of the street and labour market and at least for a football team to be set up you must need at least fifty individuals from the players to the couching Crew to the backroom staff then  the team that has been setup will need a stadium where they will be playing their match's so they will set up a structure in form of a stadium and this newly built stadium needs to be cleaned and and we'll taken care of so more people are to be employed again and salaries will be paid to them at the end of the month

So while the owner of the business who is profit oriented gets his return for investment when the team wins a league title or from transfer of players and from tickets sold to fans who come and watch their match's he has created wealth to his employees by way of paying them salaries which in turn translate to economic growth
To be honest, that example is vague. It's not applicable to normies like you and me but only to the big investors and businessmen. However, if it's about the owner of the team, it takes time for him to get his ROI.
4  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What will you do if you find yourself in a similar situation like this? on: May 04, 2024, 09:43:55 PM
Well, first things first, he has broken an important bond with his parents, they'll never ever trust him again, especially with anything that involves money. My first option in this case would be to work my ass off and recoup every single penny back. I believe it goes without saying that I'd stop any gambling activities, promise to never ever let myself go again, and even consider asking for assistance from a professional. Someone who recklessly gambles away all their parent's savings isn't in their rights mind, they're addicted.
That's the first way to stop further losses and that is to stop. Next, before you think working your ass off for you to pay off and cover the losses you did.

If you're brave enough, I think it's best to let your parents know what have you done. Admitting that you've gambled with money, no matter what happens, you've admitted your fault.

It's actually the first step into renewing your mind and they'd know that you need some help. Some may not agree to that but parents know what's best for us.
5  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin ETF good or bad? on: May 04, 2024, 09:05:26 AM
Hello,friends
How do you think the Bitcoin ETF approval will affect bitcoin and cryptocurrencies in general in the future?
That gives more investors confidence that they're investing with some of a portfolio manager or brokers than investing directly and holding Bitcoin. That works for them but not for the most of us.

Will it trigger the development and acceptance of bitcoin as a new currency and investment instrument

-Regards
I'd see it with more acceptance of Bitcoin as a store of value and investment but not with being a currency for which is the main reason why satoshi made Bitcoin.

will it drive us more and more under the control of governments?
No, only the brokers, financial institutions are subject to control but not actually Bitcoin nor us.

Where did you see this $1.3M liquidity for USDT/BFG on Biswap? Data that are provided by the websites that we typically look at like cmc and coingecko don't show this much.

Looking at how much it also indicates on biswap's farm or liquidity pool for USDT/BFG for its total liquidity is around $58,704. And upon viewing the analytics of its total liquidity is around $125k.

Sites like CMC and Coingecko usually display volumes and market caps, not total liquidity for any token. What you wrote about liquidity is true, and Biswap actually has liquidity of $125k, but it's only for V3. However, if you select the pools V2 tab on the Biswap site, you will also see the BFG/USDT pair with liquidity of $1,3 million.
Oh right, I didn't look at the V2 because I thought that the most updated one is V3. And after taking a look at it, I don't see that $1.3M for its USDT-BFG on the pair or maybe I am looking at the wrong one.

Is the one that you're saying with 18.48% APR? and 0.13X multiplier? Because on the V3 that you and I've mentioned got 55.70% APR.

I wouldn't say the BFG token is completely illiquid. As I mentioned earlier, there is enough liquidity concentrated on the BFG/USDT pair on Biswap. There is $1,3 million liquidity there at the moment, and I think this is more than enough to ensure that buys/sells of BFG tokens worth several tens of thousands of dollars don't provoke sharp price fluctuations.

8  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why do some people hide to gamble on: May 02, 2024, 08:29:51 PM
The reason we earn money after money is to live a better life.  And when we earn a lot of money, we get a different respect in the society. But gambling is something that destroys human dignity. no matter how much money a person earns from gambling, he lives like a criminal in the eyes of society. So it is always better to keep the gambling secret. If someone knows about your gambling problem then no one will want to help you during your financial crisis because they will think that you will take that money and use it for gambling instead of meeting your other needs. there are many more such problems to be faced
That's the taboo of the society. There is still this bias about gambling and it won't be changing anytime soon.

It's because society sees the wrong people that they've been destroyed due to gambling and they've lost themselves from it. With all of the people who have been gambling and having some decent amount of wins, they're not seen as bad as the others.

As long as you make money if your main purpose is to make money out of gambling, you are on your own. And from the community itself, many will tell you not to do that and just gamble for fun. So, there's always the taboo if it's related to gambling.
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it time for Litecoin to shine again? on: May 02, 2024, 01:37:17 PM
Bitcoin's transaction fees have been huge once again, so my question is really if Litecoin can shine again when Bitcoin transactions are too expencife?

Or will Litecoin continue to be forgotten?
It's best to have several choices for alternative transactions. Litecoin is a good alternative, to be honest, and when someone is having trouble with the high fees of BTC, LTC is still a way to go.

But this time, the fees for Bitcoin have gone down and there's no problem anymore for those that would like to do transactions. Although, it's still quite high compared to before the halving came.

If it's going to be forgotten, I don't think so. The silver Bitcoin won't be forgotten too easy.
10  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is you research process for events like bitcoin halving ? on: May 02, 2024, 10:03:12 AM
What is you research process for events like bitcoin halving ? From where did you learn about it and its impact on bitcoin prices. Personally, I gathered all the information from bitcointalk forum and reddit.
From my own experience.

There's no need for me to research further about it because being with it for two times is already enough for me that the market cycle is for real. The 4-year cycle that includes the halving really is going to make the price of BTC up anytime soon.

If we're experiencing some dips nowadays, don't rush as this is normal and part of the market's rise for the upcoming bull run that we're all waiting for.
11  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Your favorite to lose slot game on: May 01, 2024, 11:08:34 PM
Gates of Olympus and Sweet bonanza seem to be the most popular ones in the slots and they're all fun to play some are starting to be seen with new designs and models from other developers.

But IMHO, these are already enough if you are for the slots. As for me, they're not my cup of tea and I rarely find my luck in there. And that's what the title of the thread is all about, what type of slot game we like to lose.  Cheesy

12  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: My decision on bitcoin on: May 01, 2024, 09:18:46 PM
today, I am proud of my bitcoin accumulation and holding
I am proud of you, it didn't take you 1 year to invest, and the threads that you've read helped you to decide. Keep on holding and follow the strategy that have worked to you and be consistent.

... and plan to keep it for long term close to a decade.
Good luck to all of us mate, we've got long term plan in here and not just going to take some profits and then get out of the market when it becomes slow again.

You can take some profits when you're comfortable but if not, no one forces you to do that.
13  Economy / Economics / Re: Stagnant Salaries vs. Inflationary Savings Tax on: May 01, 2024, 07:47:59 PM
Which of these economic situations would you prefer to find yourself in?

A- Your salary is stagnant but prices fall. Where this happens, your real purchasing power has increased.  It's called constructive deflation. And even if your salary falls, but prices fall faster, you are still ahead.

B- Having your savings taxed 2%+ a year by inflation.

Drop your thoughts
Obviously, choice A is the best option here. Anything that makes you have a stronger purchase power means that you're having a greater economy.

Whilst for B, you're being taxed and then you are having the lesser purchase power due to inflation. But the reality, no one can skip the inflation and everyone has to go through with it.

That's fine if you're having a stagnant salary and every commodities price are falling but, the reality isn't like that.  Undecided
14  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Would you cashout or wait for the game to conclude? on: April 30, 2024, 01:30:44 PM
This is where the term patience is a virtue comes in, you know that? what we need to do is take a risk and wait because there is our possible winning time and if we fall in being greedy and rush, we might lose more instead of making more money, but we don't have to apply patience in everything because sometimes we also need to monitor and decide properly whether to continue gambling or to cash out, we must know the exact time when to stop especially when we see that we are ahead in a gambling session.
Deciding correctly in situations like this is important. When you've got enough profit but you want to make more because the money that you're about to win is high but in return what? It will cost you everything if you lose in a split seconds if you want to continue, so, it's the decision of like being in life and death.

If losing what you've won isn't going to cause you a lot of pain and you won't regret it, continue with the last bet. But if you're someone who's too sensitive in bets like this where you've got the sure money to cash out then all you have to do is take a deep sigh and go away with the money.

These are the moments when you can be happy with what you have got rather than be greedy with potential higher winnings but the risk is very high and not tolerable when you can't risk much.

16  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Suddenly I'm curious, do I need to pay taxes on Bitcoin income? on: April 30, 2024, 09:17:16 AM
I asked chatgpt, and it answered that Bitcoin transactions are generally subject to tax, just like other forms of asset transactions. Tax requirements may vary depending on the laws and regulations of the country where you are located, but in general, the following situations may require taxation:
Earning profits: If you earn profits through the sale or investment of Bitcoin, these profits may be considered capital gains and are subject to tax. Salaries and wages: If you pay or receive wages in Bitcoin, this may be considered ordinary income and is subject to tax. Mining income: If you receive income from Bitcoin mining, these income may be subject to tax. Currency exchange: If you use Bitcoin to purchase goods or services, you may need to pay the corresponding consumption tax according to the laws of the country.
So, you have already answered your question on your title and that's why it's needed to do something for the taxes.

Everything that you've gained upon converting your BTC into fiat is considered as income and gain, so therefore you have to declare that to your tax bureau.

If you don't want hassle doing all of the process then just hire someone that works for taxation, an accountant or whoever consultant you want to hire.
17  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ESports betting -CS:GO, DOTA 2, LOL, Valorant - Sportsbet.io discussion thread on: April 29, 2024, 07:03:02 PM
5 straight wins coming from the lower bracket this day, from Tundra's 2-0 to BetBoom's 3-0. Team Falcons is something to be honest.

So, with this, Team Falcons has once again won another title from this tier 1 tournament.
Also, this is their second tournament win in the ESL Pro Tour, and BetBoom is cursed with another second-place finish.
Exactly, it seems that these curses are being passed on to the other teams since the glory days of the new teams are coming in like for Team Falcons.

Glad that ESL One ended the way most would assume it would with a good win by the champions sweeping BetBoom:
That looks like we're going to see year by year that there's going to be a team that will dominate each tournament. But this time, it will be with Team Falcons.

I've seen an image with a caption that sneyking was asked and told that RTZ should move elsewhere, in different region to experience some winning just like what he and cr1t did.
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Atomic Wallet Staking Rewards For LUNC Is 38% on: April 29, 2024, 07:56:29 AM
Stake where you are comfortable, those that still hold this coin don't have an option to sell especially those that are in deep losses because of the debacle it has been involved.

IIRC, they've got some other new token generated out of this lunc(former luna). If you have no issues staking it to wallets like atomic then choose to stake it.

Most of the holders of it just don't have a choice anymore but to keep it than to sell it at 99% when they've bought mostly of it at the peak before the issue of it sparked up.
I personally don't feel comfortable if I have to stake in a coin that has a red flag, this must also be thought of by other people in making investments, just like gambling, but indeed if you want to try and feel LUNC, you will experience a reversal because it is taken care of by different people, which is up to you whether you are ready for the risk.
Many people think too positively but forget about the risks they will receive if it is not what they expect.

Yes, if you still have the coin if there is a staking program, in my opinion, why not try it, but whether or not it really rewards us or is just further fraud, we have to think about it again to believe it.
Those that don't have anything to do with their LUNC as it's already a total loss and devastation for them, they can do whatever they want. Stake, hold or sell at total loss.

That's why for someone that doesn't have anything to lose anymore, a 38% APY is actually an interesting one but I doubt it that Atomic Wallet can sustain that.

When there will be more stakers that will come to their wallet, they're going to reduce that APY for sure.
19  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is it advisable for a beginner to invest in a newly launch project? on: April 29, 2024, 03:15:29 AM
Many of the newbies don't know what they do but out of their innocence, some become lucky with what they invest. For example, those newbies that are fortunate and got lucky buying a random newly launched meme coin and they're able to make some profits out of it.

But not everyone has the same story as that example. The majority still don't get lucky with what they buy and that's the reason why many of these beginners need to DYOR before they invest in anything.

If they are newbie but they can afford to lose that money, let them explore what they have to explore out of their own curious and conscious mind.
