3641  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Where does your country stand ? on: April 27, 2022, 07:22:23 AM
Not in that list, but I understand that a lot of gambling dens are found underground and have no official license to the government, hence why they are not counted to the statistics (Philippines). Cockfighting however, is approved by even the president himself, stating that if we are to stop said operations of cockfighting, the government will lose millions of dollars in taxes per month that could have subsidized some government projects. It is true, but this country has always been against gambling (lol), unless it benefits them directly.

Casinos are still heavily frowned upon here in the Philippines, unless the operator is of foreign origin. Not sure why but it has been like that for far too long.

Philippines is really underrated when it comes to gambling ranking since small time gambling such as street bets, card games in the house, bingos and other form recreational gambling is not counted on survey. My statement seems like I’m being concerned about rankings in gambling. Haha, But real talk, Every place here in PH has a lot of gambling even on sports and other activities, Filipino really love to involve money on anything that they will do.

Yes, I agree! This is what I believe is the reason why the Philippines is not on the list because most gambling activities are illegal and not registered with the government. Most of the casinos in our country are owned and operated by Chinese investors who knows that a lot of Filipinos are very interested in gambling and that they can earn money from it. They are one of the highest tax payers in the government, which explains why they are so fond of this industry. Whether our country is on the list or not has no impact on us because it is only a list. However, if you come to visit us, I am confident that you will see gambling activities on the streets or cockfighting wherever you go.

It's done!!!

Elon Musk strikes deal to buy Twitter for $44bn

https://www.bbc.com/news/business-61222470

Quote
The board of Twitter has agreed to a $44bn (£34.5bn) takeover offer from the billionaire Elon Musk. Mr Musk, who made the shock bid less than two weeks ago, said Twitter had "tremendous potential" that he would unlock. He also called for a series of changes from relaxing its content restrictions to eradicating fake accounts. The firm initially rebuffed Mr Musk's bid, but it will now ask shareholders to vote to approve the deal.

From the beginning itself, I knew that the Twitter board will not be able to turn down the offer from Musk. The share price went up by more than 30% ever since Musk made the bid. But even at this point, it is below the level which Musk has agreed upon. Personally I am glad that my posts won't be censored anymore. Left-wing lunatics had an absolute control of Twitter over the years, censoring anyone whom they don't agree with. My own Twitter account went with multiple rounds of bans and warnings.
So Elon Musk is the freedom fighter of internet and he spend 44 Billion dollars to bring freedom of speech? He has own reasons to invest such a huge amount and personally I beleive from now on we can see too much of tweets from him regarding investments which will confuse and collapse lot of investments and he really trying to be the biggest manipulator of this planet.

Is it data that he could use to improve the lives of more people? I am not really a fan of Elon Musk, but his inventions and innovations are great and, as you can see, they are really helpful to us (only if we can afford to buy them, like Tesla cars, Starlink, or his space craft), but as you can see, they have a big impact on the environment and all people will benefit from it. We dont know what he will be doing with Twitter but i am hoping there are new innovations to it that make us use it more because it is helpful to us.
3643  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are new bitcoin users early or late to the party? on: April 26, 2022, 02:37:06 PM
As a new Bitcoin user, who started crypto trade, especially bitcoin trade a few years back, I feel like I’m late to the party. However, I am still happy that I joined the party, late or early doesn’t matter. Bitcoin value is really high now, and I think it’s going to keep increasing.
started a few years ago and is still late? You are too early, lol, unless you just quit for a few years. I started in 2016 but quit in 2018 because my wife became pregnant and I should really be doing two jobs at once and have no time to expound my crypto knowledge. am back to last year and still catching up because there are a lot of new things and you really need to study them. A lot of time is needed. I am kinda early that is also late, but for me it is not late at all or early because anytime is a good time to invest in crypto as long as you have money.
3644  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: sports betting sites that return your money when you lose. on: April 26, 2022, 11:28:03 AM
Agree, they can't pay back people in the long run, yes at the start they can because that is their strategy to pay them at first so that they can say that it is legit and they can earn from it but people are not thinking for future like how do they pay their bills and other business expenses if no one is losing so that alone is a proof that it is a scam unless they are a charity and giving free money to gamblers lol. But i am also amazed that there are still people fall to this though they are kind of aware that it looks suspicious but still they put their money to it.
you are correct, its very hard to trust especially if you use to gamble a huge amount of money because surely after all in the long run there's always a chance for such website to run your money without knowing.
. And definitely a good strategy to get more clients easily, so i hope everyone is aware especially if the website isn't trusted because its very skeptical.
remember that if the offer is too good to be true? then best to take away from that because most of those are just scam and promising something that they cannot bring to reality.
I don't say it was a scam site but with those promises ? why risk your money when you are surely in gambling losses are there and winning are small chances .
It smells fishy tbh, looks like they are just getting their reputation to increase, and then all of the sudden they'll turn out to be a rug pull as well. It's a possible scenario and we've seen that already in the past. I'd rather stay away or just put as little as possible on your account.

Yeah, just put in a little money to fulfill your curiosity. I know that there are some people that say that it is really a scam but still try it out just to kill their curiosity because they can't sleep thinking about it and really want to invest in it. Just to make sure that they will not think about it again, you will try to invest as little as possible so that you can live peacefully. But this is only a partial solution because if you continue to invest in this type of scam, you will eventually end up investing more and losing money.

It doesn't matter if you are gambling small or large sums of money; if you already know that it is a scam, if you smell or feel that this could be a scam, don't take the risk of trying it; you are just giving your money to them, which makes them even happier and more likely to scam other in the future. I get a lot of questions about whether or not this was a scam, and I get asked if I should invest in it because of the high return. I simply say no, because it was a scam, but you can try it with your money, which is why most of my friends can't persuade me to invest in Ponzi or HYIP schemes because I always say no.

Bumping to spread awareness about this scam site.

Thanks for bumping this thread. While I was reading the title, the first thing that came to my mind was, "is this a scam?" or "is it just a point system that if you lose you will get points which you can convert later." But upon reading the whole post and visiting the website, I would say that the website is very poorly designed and you should really not trust this kind of website because, as you can see, the efforts of the websites of the legit casinos and how they made it." Also, you are earning way too fast and too big, which is really weird why they are giving that huge amount, but I don't know if you ever tried to withdraw your money, I think you can still get it since this was like a ponzi scheme or HYIP.
One of the few indicators of an illegitimate betting comapnies are enticing benefits that attracts people. If they keep giving back losses how would they pay thier bills or make profit, except they have other means of making profit which is unlikely. Just like Ponzi schemes they might give you back your loses which would spur you to keep betting. One-day you might bet with a large sum and you would not get it back when you win or lose.

3648  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are Your Kids Aware Of Bitcoin? Teach Them. on: April 25, 2022, 12:06:51 PM
I don't see any point in teaching the kids about investment that will lead to greed because most of the kids that I know are really starting their own investment in Bitcoin. Teach them while they are young, so they can start to decide if they are into investing in crypto or not. My child is not yet big enough to learn this, so if she is at 10, that is the time I will introduce them, but not force them to learn it, but let them love it.

Can't agree more that it's not recommended to teach kids about bitcoin trading and investment unless they grow up and decides by themselves. What we can teach kids is the technology aspect of Bitcoin as they grow up. I am strongly against involving kids in crypto unless they are atleast 10, since there are many bad things also associated with use of crypto.

I think 10 years old is still not the right time to start teaching them about bitcoin, even worse if we teach them how to invest and trade bitcoin at that age. In my opinion, the best time we can teach them the concept of bitcoin is when they are over 15 years old. As for teaching them to invest let them feel understand what bitcoin is, then let them decide to invest or not. We should not force our children, we will hinder their development by forcing them into a profession they do not love.

It isn't the learning that you think of or like teaching them technical terms or whatever, but that is the time that will introduce them to this world. I just mentioned it in my previous post that "introduce", so it is the first chapter or the cover of the book. Also, 15 years old is also a good starting point, but the best age for me is 13 to 14 because that is the age where they get most curious about things, so it is best to start learning about it and guiding them about it.
3649  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Where have you saved your bitcoin keys? (satoshi saved it in cd rom! allegedly) on: April 25, 2022, 08:55:37 AM
I'm not sure, but CDs and disks are not reliable because they occasionally stop working or reading at all, and the disk is very prone to disc scratches whether you store it or not because simply putting it to read will cause it to have scratches. Now I'm sure it'll be put on a disc in txt format, which is also unreliable and easily corrupted. Why not stick to writing it on paper or putting it in metal or wood and storing it because it is not easily erased. You just need to store it in the most secure location so that no one or only your trusted could see it.
3650  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are Your Kids Aware Of Bitcoin? Teach Them. on: April 23, 2022, 02:46:34 PM
It depends on what you decide to teach your kids about Bitcoin. I will rather teach them the technology and not the investment aspect. For the investment the will come to find out about it themselves in the process of learning the underlying technology behind the Bitcoin. Teaching the investment might trigger greed and seeing the coin as a get rich quick scheme
I don't see any point in teaching the kids about investment that will lead to greed because most of the kids that I know are really starting their own investment in Bitcoin. I feel like I'm too late and the btc price is literally just gonna go sideways forever. Or maybe a slow gradual push up. Maybe in 20 years it will be worth half a mil.

I am not in crypto from its very days but read many times that people said its too late now to invest in bitcoin when it was at 100$ and 1000$. There is no certainty that current ATH is the last one and bitcoin can't cross that anymore. Imagine how would you feel if bitcoin reaches 100,000$ by current or next year. Just DYOR and invest.

I agree to this. I noticed that before, a lot of people were saying that they were too late because the price had already hit $100, but they were wrong because the price hit more. It is not too late because we really do know where the price will reach, so what is really best is to invest what you can afford to lose, but as you can see, Bitcoin has a bright future. It is just a matter of where you bought it, how long you held it, and also if you can control your emotions when the price drops.
3652  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Where should I invest money? on: April 23, 2022, 10:18:02 AM

The opportunity to earn money attract a lot of people for cryptocurrency. That is why many people are looking for new and prospective projects for investment. But for every projects security is necessary like this https://twitter.com/MissionDogeOne/status/1506922981636952066

Bitcoin and Ethereum overvalued, that is why investors are looking for new and prospective projects to have maximum profit from invetments.

A lot of new projects appear every day and investors have a big choice of different projects.
Now competition between cryptocurrency projects is so high that it is necessary to have strong promotion to pay attention of users.

There are a lot of scammers now, and they are making their own projects. Yes, competition is really hard nowadays, and most are into promotion, so you need to have enough money for this and a ton of effort. Though promotion alone is not the most important thing, you should also have a good project that can gain user trust and also invest in it. There are ton of promising projects but lacking of budget now
3653  Economy / Economics / Re: What skills should I learn to get freelance work ..?? on: April 23, 2022, 09:00:25 AM
some of the work we do online, sometimes makes us disappointed with the reason that the pay is too small. maybe there are some places that haven't been visited, I saw friends making video content on youtube, they are well paid. However, you must have editor skills so that you have content that is far from copyright infringement. I think you should try first.

I don't know how much a small salary is in you, but based on what I have seen, mostly, the average is $2 per hour, and that is big already here in our country. It is just that you need to be content, so you will say that the salary is good. With regards to YouTube content, it still needs some promotion now online, but before that, only good content and it should be unique. But now I see a lot of good channels with only a few subscribers, so now I would say that you need to promote your channel.
3654  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if she receives Bitcoin as gift on: April 22, 2022, 02:34:38 PM

I would agree that women would love tor receive precious gifts like jewelries or maybe even a car...but there can be something more special if you give them Bitcoin. Not only will they start to get educated on the potential game-changing features of this coin but they can be building on something that we project can be more valuable into the future. I am then 100% supporting your intent and your desire to spread more awareness for Bitcoin in particular and cryptocurrency in general. How lucky are those women who can get something really valuable from you. So go for it and make things happen.

Start gifting cars to women and expect to become a lot poorer very fast Cheesy

Jokes aside, if a woman is happy from any gift you give her and appreciates any effort, she's a keeper. Try giving her some BTC and if she does some research and learns to use a wallet and manages to send a transaction and buy herself something nice, she's a treasure. Even better if she doesn't spend it all and keeps some as an investment.

Even when you think this gift is nothing interesting for a girl, try it out just to see how she responds.

Well, you are absolutely right, and in a non-joking sense, women are actually very few who are interested in technology and learn about BTC, just imagine that you give a BTC to your girlfriend, and that she then do not give it the pertinent importance? that she even takes it as something normal? me in you, I prefer to take her out for coffee, to share with her, and if you want to give her BTC make sure she knows what she is talking about, or at least knows the scope of BTC, it would be a shame if you give her BTC and she lose the data.

This is like giving her $100 and having her just throw it away. I never encounter any kind of woman that is throwing money around because they are not into technology, unless they are so rich that they really don't need $100. The point was whether or not you were interested in bitcoin; if we're talking about money, I'm sure they'll be interested in how to make more of it or withdraw it. I don't see any reason for women to do this right now, especially since BTC is becoming well-known, and I'm sure she is aware of it.
3655  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading is a game of capital on: April 22, 2022, 12:11:51 PM
To be honest, I wouldn't call trading a game. Nevertheless, this is a rather serious work that requires some preparation.

Please read the sentence again because it refers to a "game of capital" rather than an actual game.

Yes, because you will never be able to recover from your losses. To trade successfully, you need to have at least $50 in trading capital on hand because if you don't, your losses can be easily hit. Also, if you are buying, holding, and selling, you will make only a few profits when you are successful, but you will spend a lot of time doing so. You should also think about how much money you can afford to lose, but if you are willing to take a risk and are just getting started in trading, start with $50 or more to get a feel for the market and see how it works.
3656  Economy / Gambling / Re: How do you advertise your casino? on: April 21, 2022, 04:17:02 PM
I wouldn't recommend signature for new gambling sites and if you don't have much budget since it would cost you $1000 weekly or maybe even more depends on how many participants you would like in your campaign, I suggest to focus on good promotion in website since those would attract more players rather than signature campaign though it would be effective if you do both.
It is rare to see someone here that has their own casino but we all play their and make some fee dollars. Creating a signature for a new casino is never easy cause op will need lots of money to handle that. I think casino's owners must be prepared to create ads that will increase the numbers of users on the casino.
Op will need to build reputation so gamblers will be more confident to deposit fund on it. This will attract whale gamblers that are ready to bet with bigger funds.

Because you must advertise the casino and demonstrate that it is a worthwhile place to gamble, establishing a casino's reputation takes a significant amount of money. With regards to signature campaigns, it is still dependent on how long the campaign will run; some are only running for 2 weeks to see what effect their website has on the general public, but if they can gain more gamblers through the signature campaign, it is a worthwhile investment because they can make more money than they spend on signature campaigns.
3657  Economy / Economics / Re: Elon Musk makes offer to buy Twitter on: April 21, 2022, 01:36:54 PM
Is it about the data that he could get? Will he use it for something like his new inventions, or is he planning to use it for something like space exploration or another business that he can profit from?I do agree that the amount was huge just for things like promoting Doge (but I think this is one of his many reasons why). He has something in my mind that he is the only one that can pull off. I can only imagine the data or advertisements he could use. Whatever the reason, I am hopeful that we will know what what he truly desires from Twitter rather than other platforms.
I am not sure if he does, but I know that Tesla is a data company is not a myth, it is a reality. Every single driver of Tesla basically sends back data of the roads to Tesla, which they use to create a roadmap basically, and then they use it to make the cars better self-driving cars with that data.

So, that means Tesla knows how to use data, and that means Elon could use the same people to do something with Twitter as well. He is capable and he has done it before, so giving him this much data would result with something for sure. Will it be a good thing? Will it be a bad thing? How will he use it? I do not know, but I know that he would use that instantly.

Due to the fact that you brought up Tesla, The starlink for him had slipped my mind, lol! He can clearly see if everyone is using his internet from above, isn't he? Even though we could argue that it has negative consequences, it is still an innovation. I agree that it could be a good or bad thing, but he is definitely using it for innovation purposes that humanity can benefit from. When it comes to his purpose for collecting the data, I am hoping that we can all benefit from it.
3658  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Can newbie become rich with trading on: April 21, 2022, 12:18:35 PM
Trading look like a hard to understand game and for any new person in trading making profits is always hard that is why am here to ask how can a newbie make profit trading coins and what manual can be followed.

Actually no because as being a newbie you don't know what you are doing in the market and how could you became rich if you have zero knowledge upon dealing with volatility for sure the real scenario there is you get broke first or maybe many times before you will come up with that status because every defeat on trading you will learn something that you may apply on your trade so be consistent trader if you want to be rich on trading.

However, as you can see, we begin as newbies and must learn and gain some knowledge in order to earn money. You can still be referred to as a newbie when you are first starting out in the market, but as you gain more experience, your level will rise. You can earn more money by increasing your level. When it comes to newbies with zero knowledge, you can make money, but when it comes to newbies with knowledge and who are ready to start their first trade, that is when you have the best chance of making money.

This time is a good time to buy because the market is still in bear. Time to buy and hold and don't ask if it's too late to buy because bull market is not yet to come. Be prepared than sorry again if suddenly the market rise. Grab the opportunity to buy and just hold it with patience if you want a huge return.

What happens if it dumps even more? Yes, any time is a good time to buy, but keep in mind that you should base your decision on solid foundations, such as news, technical analysis, or future predictions, rather than simply believing someone who told you to buy now because it is a dip without any basis. If you do this, you will end up losing money, and if you are new to trading, you will keep ranting that you lost your money and that it is a scam without realizing that it is your fault, which is normal in trading. You should first practice making decisions on your own, as well as developing a strategy in your trading style.
indeed any time is a good time to buy as well as now, but will we be able to hold on to it in the long term if the bull season doesn't come soon. therefore consider according to each personal analysis so that we do not regret later. many people just follow other people's words without analyzing it first, after that your money is like playing with yourself, even though investing or trading is not like that, we must be ready to risk and ready to pick up the predetermined target

Yeah! This is referred to as trading signals, and it means that you are relying on the signals of others, which is something you must avoid when trading. In trading, knowledge is power, and reading is a habit that you should develop and maintain, as the most of professional traders are still reading and learning about trading. It is still necessary to read the news, so it is also about reading. The fact that you are holding does not guarantee that you will make a profit sooner; instead, look for the best altcoins that have long-term plans, rather than those shit coins.
