-ck best move yet  thanks

So 2.36 btc is the cost.

using bitcoinwisdom as a calculator:

I am .9btc  usd in the black on day 84

On day 114 I am 2 btc  in the black

Plain and simple if it were real it would not be this cheap.

I'm also hoping more than just Philipma1957 post information about the sticks in the review thread, since there should be at least six people besides myself who have final-version prototypes in hand. The sooner I get feedback on the design, the sooner I can decide whether to tweak further or open up a sales queue.

And I got today a little package too! Smiley
Feedback coming soon!

I Look forward to your thoughts  on  them.  You have had stick building practice so I would like to read what you think of them.
36544  Other / Archival / Re: This Guy Gave Satoshi Negative Rep. on: July 08, 2015, 01:37:07 AM
Well I read all of the trusts given and they are really old. This thread was created based on 2013 trust given to a guy that last posted in 2010. (yes I know whom 'that guy is')

So while I think the 2013 poster was a bit of an a-hole to post the negative I fail to see why anyone would be interested in the info years later..

Now to be fair If someone just gave the negative trust today  then I would have enjoyed reading the thread more.

While I have a signature that is paid for it is a flat rate for 300 posts and I will exceed the 300 monthly posts by more then  200. So I do not consider my reply a post padding.
36545  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Citigroup Is Testing Its Own Bitcoin: 'Citicoin' on: July 08, 2015, 01:06:13 AM
Citibank = ($1,231,154,000,000)

http://www.moneyeconomics.com/top-10-by-total-asset-citibank/

this was my source for  above.

Bitcoin =      ($3,819,228,000)

 http://www.bitcoincharts.com/

I did 14.358 mill coins x 266 usd

So Citibank has  322x the value  Of BTC

Plain and simple they can crush BTC if they want to, my gut tell me  it could be a very rough time for Crypto Coins  if banks adapt  the tech and attack the coins with a winner take all strategy .
36546  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Just what is a FAIR fee to send a Bitcoin transaction? on: July 07, 2015, 09:44:53 PM
I believe that Bitcoin's current fee per transaction is fair. But, if Bitcoin's price rises exponentially, the current transaction fee will seem like a lot for every day purchases. I personally believe 1 - 3 cents is a fair price for instant transactions.

yes and when the fee was 0.001 in 2012 coins were under 10 bucks. Then when coins jumped in price in 2013 many complained fees were too high so they lowered the fee  to 0.0001 maybe in Sept 2014  IIRC.

So I am guessing if coins ever go nuts the fees will move down to 0.00005

36548  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: The combined sidehack-novak usb stick review thread. AKA GekkoScience BM1384 on: July 07, 2015, 09:11:16 PM
Steve a Nice review.  you did bring out a shorting issue which is good.

I really would suggest a usb meter  as the " I have fat fingers and bad eyes" method  for pot adjusting. Also I have the older black and the new gold and sidehack flipped the pots on my so I really needed two meters to be sure.

You are correct that the lead pads may be more accurate, but you need to watch for shorting

.

36549  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Been reading about a lot of dying sp20's on: July 07, 2015, 08:57:49 PM
added mavericklm and put in 1 more that died

so 291 and 22

of the 22 some were fixed

but lets judge hard  first and say all 22 are fully dead  the good to bad rate is 92.9%

lets judge easy  and say of the 22 with issues only 13 are dead

so 300 and 13 =  95.84% good to bad rate.

going to close this a do a  final tally. thanks for all info

36551  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: New mining hardware for july on: July 07, 2015, 08:20:41 PM
Is there any low power 1th miners for july releases, i recently got a few solar panel with up to 500w of power and a 12 hours battery life i figure i could run a few ths to generate some income.

You can underclock a S5 to produce about 1th with about 500w of power usage. You'd also want to undervolt the fan to save a little bit more power.

Actually I clocked them down to 850gh at freq 225 IIRC  they will use under 440watts  and he can go at lower volts maybe 7  if he hooks the fan directly to his psu depends if his psu has a four pin molex ..

I have a thread on making the stock fan independent of the s-5 and wired directly to the psu.

here is a thread for you on fan speed control

36552  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S5: 1155GH(+OverClock Potential), In Stock $0.319/GH & 0.51W/GH on: July 07, 2015, 08:11:47 PM
He is right ! They always raise the price when the value of bitcoin goes up but when it drops they never lower it !!!!!!!!!!!

You got a point there, but you missed the elephant in the room if you intended to buy with bitcoin. They have held the rate of USD to BTC at an older (lower 1 BTC = USD 262.Cool rate despite the additional $18 increase; google currently states a price of 1BTC = 273 BTC . Truth be told, either way its a ripoff, but they are the ONLY game in town, so we'll have to grin and bear it.

The know this that's why they are doing it. come on spoondoolies come out with new chips I am so sick of BITMAIN aka SHITMAIN.

F**K THEM even if they are the only game in town I still wont buy from them. There going broke there just milking the cow but there not going to milk me !

I'm not taking up for bitmain but what makes you all think spoondoolies or any other vendor or supplier won't do the same thing that's how it is, they will .

IN fact they wil be higher in price. again I'm not taking up for bitmian they just will be .

Not that spondoolies is any better, but the fact is spondoolies before running out of hardware they where the ones pushing the prices down, as soon as spondoolies sold out, bitmain raised their prices significantly. If Spondoolies does come back, lets not forget who is the one raising the prices, and who is pushing them down.

The difference was Spondoolies were selling at a horrific loss, which isn't good for anyone.
Where did you get the info that they sold at a loss, I highly doubt it.

Guy from spondoolies told me that 1 unit was about 390 usd

they sold 15 packs at  prices under that  and they ate the shipping fees.  so every 15 pack sold for 6 k or less was a loser for them.
36553  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Just what is a FAIR fee to send a Bitcoin transaction? on: July 07, 2015, 08:06:35 PM
Currently, the shop often covers the payment fee.. The fee, atleast in the Netherlands can be up to a euro per transaction (depending on your volume ofcourse). As a costumer, you don't see this because the shop takes care of this. Maybe an option like this, where the receiver pays the fee, could be an option?

That's how Visa/MasterCard does it. They charge their percentage to the receiver. Of course, that's passed along to the customer in higher prices. That's not what I'm talking about. I'm talking about transactions that currently do not cost either party anything. I walk into a store and see a flat screen TV that I want to buy for $3k. I don't carry that kind of money around with me so I use a checking debit card that automatically taps my saving account to buy it. There is no fee whatsoever. Why would you routinely pay more for your utility bills (even a penny) month after month when you don't have to? Makes no sense.

If I want to send money quickly to the Russian mafia half way around the world for some reason. That's where Bitcoin shines.
Using a debit card is pretty much the same as using a credit card, the merchant still has a cost.

All forms of payment have a cost, even cash, however in today's society generally the costs are not visible to the consumer as they are already priced into the goods or services.

You got that right.  A debit card is very costly.  Let me give a long but  easy to do  example.

I have great credit so I never use a debit card. I always use credit cards. Why? I get paid to use them.
I charge 2 k to 4 k a month on my credit cards.  The cashback bonus is 1 to 5% depending on what I am buying. So  a debit card user loses 20 dollars a month at best. That would be  1% of 2k = 20 bucks.  And if the purchases qualify they may lose 200 usd   as 5% of 4k is about 200usd.

I find my credit cards earn me around 60 bucks a month in bonus money.  So if I use a 'free' debit card I spend about  720 a year in lost earnings.

I won't go much deeper but that 720  I earn allows me to buy gift cards direct from Discover  card and they sell some good cards at a 20% discount.  I can buy 36 $25 dollar gift cards with that 720  .   Some cards are staples and bed bath and beyond.   So A 'free' debit card now loses me 900 usd a year.
I am also not taking into account that I need to keep a minimum balance with the bank.

I read all the responses here and I find many people don't understand the BTC system and why fees are needed.
Very simple reason no fees make for an endless spamming of the BTC blockchain very cheap and easy to do.
So I pay 0.0001 or 0.0002 as a giveback to the community> I also run a node as a giveback to BTC.
What do I spend to do this under  5 bucks a month.  The node cost me 3.60 and as for transactions maybe 50 x  0.0001 = 0.005 = 1.30  total of 4.90 per month
36554  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Antminer S5: Not mining on: July 07, 2015, 06:53:38 PM
Some one posted about the bfl running  the s-5  I answered that thread.  I told that person under clock the gear.

so under clock the gear to freq 300 see if it runs.

here is the link

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1100825.msg11736229#msg11736229

if you can get the gui to work you can underclock the s-5 to freq 275  .  your psu might work at that freq ..  you get about 810-850 gh

so you have the gui running down clock to freq 275 or 300 see if it works.

freq is pulling too much power

36555  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [REVIEW] AVALON 4 1000GH/s@694W on: July 07, 2015, 06:49:52 PM
Why are they not listing this mini price???

they never answered my email about a review and a group buy.

I am a bit frustrated. I would be interested in 20x

sell 15 keep 5.  I would have liked a reply to the email sent last week.

They were good about the avalon 4.1

I got 1 to review free of charge
I got 1 at a good discount
I got one at a small discount.

It was nice gear. I was hoping to get some of these new ones.
36556  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: June 28th to July 12th Difficulty thread. Picks are closed!! on: July 07, 2015, 06:34:56 PM
In case this is new to other folks, I found this website that seems pretty relevant here. I haven't tried to verify it's accuracy, and the projected value does seem high, if I am reading it right. Nevertheless, it seems live a worthwhile addition:

http://nextdifficulty.com/

I kinda liked the little graph, cause it clearly shows the last 7 days, which has a definite upward trend.

it is interesting but the prediction is too high  5.6% is conservative and 6.1% is the best guess and 7.7% is top end.

yesterday we had a good high number of blocks 171   which is the highest number since march when we had a 176.

today we are dropping back to 140 something

https://blockchain.info/blocks

364292 -------------------18:19

363188 ------------------- 00:03

so 105 in 18 hours and 20 min  we should do 6 x 18.= 108 +2 = 110  so we are at a 138 pace for today

daily tracking is tough

but  that is what this thread is about  tracking the diff.

we did have quite a few days in a row over 144   five to be exact, but today could break that streak.
36557  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Just what is a FAIR fee to send a Bitcoin transaction? on: July 07, 2015, 06:01:44 PM
I think the 0.0001BTC fee is very reasonable at this price point, I don't mind paying this as fee for the upcomming years.

The market decides, and I will just follow.

I tend to agree  with you 0.0001 or 0.0002 seem low enough.

Decided to increase frequency just a little bit. All units running good and cool. 50c. On one miner I'm accumulating some HW errors. I've never overclocked and not the usual to do so, so new territory for me. Is having a HW error rate of %.015 to be concerned about? Seems it is the only one complaining. Just curious to see what the different HW error rates are out there.

s-5's at 0.015 are fine    what is your hash rate 1250?

top 3 are

Bitmain they hold the top spot and will for a long time to come and i guess why we haven't heard much on the S7 is because of the sfards miner due out next month .

https://bitmaintech.com/product.htm

Spondoolies may or may not come back with a home miner they  said they want to but well see . Smiley .

http://www.spondoolies-tech.com/

This one is maybe but they want to much from all the rumors on pricing but i wouldn't put it past them .

http://www.sfards.com/

The Avalon4.1 Bitcoin Miner was one of the top three once it sold out they took the site off line and the Devper IS MiA.

and like alh Smiley said if you live in the US and want to home mine at some point you will need at least 1 240 line installed but have two installed to be safe . it's not a option either if you want to mine with 12 or more in your home in the US and keep your house safe from fires.

  Avalon site is on line
