What's the best groestl hashrate you guys get on 290x? Which miner? Thanks.

I just tried nicehash with the new scrypt-jane algo. Fails on ccminer-sp (cuda ram allocation issues, maybe more tweaking is needed) but works on ccminer-tpruvot, unfortunately it's highly unprofitable. Rates need to double or triple before getting interesting. BTW, is 2 Kh/s a good hashrate for a 970?

Anyone else getting HTTP Error 400 with the gpu miner ?
Yes, got that too. Gave up after messing around with it for an hour. It can mean that the wallet is not synced yet.

I still can't get the miner to work.. fml
Just wait for a pool..... oh.. Soon that's cool, suprnova rulez ;-)

Thanks Taek, I'll try that!

Is there a sia testnet? How to set the wallet to use it?
Nobody knows? Still no testnet. We'll probably have one for 0.5.0. Is there a strong reason that you need one? I can help you set one up but you'll need to recompile Sia with some constants changed. I need low diff to test miners. Not having a pool, I thought the simple way, without modifying the wallet, was testnet.

The only solution is a completely new, closed source, fee-based miner with completely new kernels written in isolation from the specs. The resulting binaries would further need to be copy protected to dissuade reverse-engineering and binary patching. How many people do you think would trust that? Not necessarily. My miner is moving towards being fully data-driven and so far everything is either MIT or zlib. In theory I would be fully for zlib but for a reason or the other I ended up with MIT. So there is (will be) full source accessibility, ability to rebuild privately, fully legal to redistribute as the kernels can be plugged in as you plug in a new map in a game. To be completely honest the whole point of this message is to ask you to take a look at the license.txt file I've used as I'm only about 99% sure it's compliant right now. can you incorporate a miner fee in the kernel? I guess not... nor you can avoid someone remove the whole fee code in the miner because it's opensource...

We are continuing to discuss this licencing issue to no end, and always to the same conclusion. What should we learn from this? Trust the developers if they all say they don't want to make a fee based miner. Or do it yourself.

my votescore dropped to 1306. Ports opened and forwarded, wallet unlocked. What happened?
Don't worry about your votescore as long as votecandidate is true. Mine constantly shifts from a positive to a negative number but I still get rewards. I have it almost running for a week, but never received any reward. But i have never luck...i also participate to the german lottery already 10 years, never won something There are people who believe in luck and people who don't. Either way, both "you may never get a reward" and "you may guess satoshi's private key" are highly unlikely, but possible :-D

Thanks, I'll wait for the global test network, then. Hopefully the software will be easy to build if one, like me, uses linux and doesn't rely on precompiled binaries.
Gentoo? I've been using gentoo for years. Now, to save time, I'm using mostly ubuntu. I tend to prefer to build programs myself; most of the times the linux binary is not available anyway (and there are reasons for this).

There is a lot of information in the forums, the site etc. but can I simply ask what's the overall status of the project? Can I join the network? Where is an howto explaining what parts of the git repository I need and how to compile it? Thanks.
There's no global (test)network for anyone to join. The status is that in this sprint, they're working on exactly that. This is sprint nr. 5 and after sprint 3 they released some installers to test the network locally. It is a proof-of-concept where you run a local network (3 Vaults) and upload your own (or an test-) website to your local network with the option to register your own URL. Here are the links to that Dev-update with instructions: MaidSafe Dev Update 31st August 2015MaidSafe Dev Update 31st August 2015 - Part III'm not sure what the status is if you want to compile your own code. Things are changing quite fast. I would come to the forum and ask in a reply on the last Dev-update. Here are some things you might see in the close future: This sprint (3 to 4 weeks) > A global network where anyone can connect to using the installers. The network will go "live" and might never be taken down again if things go well. Next sprints > Implementation of "Safecoin" where people "farm" Safecoin when they provide Chunks (mostly 1MB.) to the network. Transactions should take place under a second without transaction costs. Thanks, I'll wait for the global test network, then. Hopefully the software will be easy to build if one, like me, uses linux and doesn't rely on precompiled binaries.

Great. Going step by step to the point. The point is that GPL license was created by very bright people, clever enough not to prohibit something that can not be enforced: distribution of binaries over private channels without source code. You can assume that I'm asking djm34: "Hay djm, please look at this source code, please compile and make it faster for me, I will pay You 10BTC. I don't need source code and I will not publish binaries, because I know that I will have to publish source code too, that costs 100BTC to buy it from You. Thank You." No license break.
The GPL is older than a lot of people in this forum.

Wolf0, I see. As I have 6x 280x I can pay to you if you give me an advice how to mine more effectively than by sgminer with quark.
I barely have enough power to run all the AMD cards I have; I can't use six more 280X cards. I think he forgot a comma after 280x :-D

I had a look at the sgminer sib sources. The gost part can be optimised a lot and the rest of x11 can also be sped up. Is there anyone interested in buying or crowdfunding a private miner?

OP, plz consider adding Lyra2REv2 algo (at least VTC and MONA)
The wrong lyra2 was added. It needs to be lyra2v2 (lyra2REv2). Look at the pool page. All coins are lyra2rev2: MONA, VTC...

Thanks but I don't see the "algo switch". I assume it'll change from lyra2re to lyra2rev2...
