3661  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 23, 2023, 04:58:33 PM

Pump +++

Bitcoin $28,724

The market got over that rate hike pretty quickly and does appear to be back into rally mode. I’m still expecting we end the month at $30K but we’re running out of time. One good push from here should do it though and with today’s price action I still think it will happen. I think at that point we might start seeing average Joe’s begin to have FOMO.
3662  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: March 23, 2023, 04:54:34 PM
The ref immediately pointed it's the Warriors' ball and reaffirmed the call when two players approached him. I understand the confusion but I still don't think the Mavs protest would succeed if they plan to pursue that. Maybe the referees can talk about this as well and come up with a better sign for timeouts so this kind of situation doesn't happen again.
The Mavs were Shaqtin' a Fool in that play, which resulted in easy points for the Warriors. It was a costly mistake, as the Warriors only won by 2 points. The Mavs will surely learn from this big mistake and ensure that it does not happen again. The refs cannot be blamed in that game, as it was clear that the ball belonged to the Warriors before the Mavs called a timeout, so it was normal for the Warriors to inbound the ball.

It was a mistake on their part and clearly the referee was right. Perhaps the Mavs is really looking for someone to point their fingers with this lost. Although I would say that there are a lot of controversial calls by the refs lately, but this might be look further but I don't see the Mavs winning their case.

And yes, this game is very important for them and the Warriors as well.

But at the end of the end, the Warriors was able to pull it off. Just too bad for Luka with his return to the lineup.

I’m waiting to see if the NBA takes action against Luka for his complaints about the referees. There’s a clip of him accusing the refs of having bet money on the Warriors due to how bad the officiating was. With all the trouble the NBA has had with gambling and refs, that’s not a comment to make lightly. I sort of expect we’ll soon hear about a $25,000 fine in the next few hours.
3663  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Do Kwon arrested on: March 23, 2023, 04:52:01 PM
Arrested with false documents isn’t a good look for Do Kwon at all. That will likely mean he won’t be able to bail out of jail due to being a flight risk (as if he wasn’t already), which means it’s possible that Do Kwon may not see himself outside of a prison for many years. I’m not sure what he was thinking. It seems like he let the money get to his head.
3664  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Future of GPU mining, what's your plan? on: March 22, 2023, 09:21:28 PM
I’m not all that confident in altcoin mining’s future at the moment. Especially with relation to GPUs. I feel like ASIC manufacturers have streamlined things to where GPU mined coins have to play games to keep from being gamed. I’m sure there will always be a market for GPU mining, but for me personally, I’d like to see a successful coin be mined with GPUs like Ethereum was before I’d start plotting a future in GPU mining.
3665  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC Fight Night & Main Event: Sportsbet.io Predictions & discussion on: March 22, 2023, 07:56:14 PM
I was surprised to read that Holly Holm was given a six-fight contract with the UFC.  I figured her fighting days were behind her after taking down Ronda Rousey in one of the biggest upsets ever, who everyone thought was unbeatable.  That was a while ago and Holly wasn't a spring chicken back then, so it's surprising to see she's signing long fight deals with the UFC while Ronda Rousey is messing around with fake wrestling.  Congrats to Holly, and while I'm surprised, that seems to be the trend with her.  Surprising everyone.  Let's see what she does next.
3666  Economy / Goods / Re: buying crypto casino script on: March 22, 2023, 07:43:41 PM
I see people all the time thinking they can buy a casino script from a stranger and then suddenly be running a massive online casino.  I guess my first question to people who think this way is this...  Would you deposit money and gamble on a site that bought a casino script from someone on an online forum?  I think the odds are extremely high you would end up with a casino that is full of backdoors and as an operator, going this route would seemingly display that you aren't willing to put in the hard work and effort necessary to make a casino a success.  Just my two cents, which are quite possibly worthless.
3667  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: March 22, 2023, 07:23:31 PM
Later on, the Lakers will face the Suns on their own homecourt at LA and they might be having a slight advantage because Deandre Ayton won't be joining the team for the said game as well as Kevin Durant, as well know that he's not yet fit to play the games. But, the Lakers should be sure and play it safe because they needed this win to lift their team from the current standing which is #11 and a win in this game will definitely put the team at the #7 or #8 spot.

There are only 10 games left until the end of the regular season. So if the Lakers really want to make the playoffs, they will need a win in every upcoming game. The problem is the Lakers haven't won the Suns in 6 straight meetings, including 2 meetings this season. So tonight's game won't be easy for the Lakers, and I'm not even sure they can beat them because the Suns are a tough opponent even without Ayton and Durant.

They’re only 1/2 a game back from being in the play-in tournament. They’ve also won 6 of their last 10, so I think they can easily make the play-in tournament unless they have a serious breakdown. Their problem is the Pelicans are also 1/2 a game back so it’s a crowded race for that play-in tournament at this point. Still, I think I’d the Lakers win half their remaining games they’ll make the play-in.

Edit: With Zion now expected to be healthy for the playoffs, you can expect the Pelicans to make a push here...
3668  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Placing bet on WWE on: March 22, 2023, 07:21:02 PM
I don’t see how this could possibly work. Gambling on scripted matches is basically legalized scamming if you know any of the people involved who can give you a heads up beforehand. I imagine if this is allowed to happen going forward, there will be scandals galore. Even if you were honest and one of your friends made a lot of money betting on your match, you’re likely to be investigated. It just seems like a terrible idea.
3669  Other / Meta / Re: Changing password and mail wrong thing? on: March 22, 2023, 07:18:53 PM
It probably isn’t the worst idea to make a little comment somewhere before changing your password and changing emails is a pretty good sign an account has been sold or hacked.

I only say to mention changing your password in advance because you never know who is watching and might jump to conclusions. This thread was created last time I updated my password.

3670  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will The FED pivot? on: March 22, 2023, 06:34:33 PM
The FED interest rate decision today (just in a few hours), will be most exciting to watch, especially after all the most recent banks crisis.
BTC is already trading above the year highs before the data right now. Anticipation is high this time.

I will edit this post after the interest rates are out.

EDIT: The fed raises interest rates by 25bps.
Reaction: Neutral. I expected no rate hikes this time but still okay.

This is what I expected. The bond market has been predicting this and historically speaking the bond market has always been the best predictor of what the fed will do. I think this is likely to be the last interest rate hike of the cycle. It’s clear that going higher from here will cause a long recession and while that would make inflation appear to be under control, it would be a disaster for the economy. They need to pause now.
3671  Economy / Speculation / Re: How much return are we expecting next bull run? on: March 22, 2023, 05:44:56 PM
I’m a believer that Bitcoin’s price is a 4-year fractal pattern. With this thinking I had expected a peak of $200K in December of 2021. However, FTX apparently was taking people’s money for BTC and spending it on shitcoins, thus manipulating the price downward. This is what I believe kept the last peak from happening. If you believe that as well, then you could make the case for a $800K BTC by the end of 2025. That is if no shenanigans happen again this time.
3672  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: March 22, 2023, 05:16:37 PM
A great night of basketball ahead of us as TNT has two great games being nationally televised tonight. First, it’s the Warriors vs the Mavericks then the late game is between the Lakers and the Suns. A shame LeBron and KD will both be out. That would have been a game for the ages. Unfortunately, we’ll have to wait for a possible playoff matchup if we want to see that.
3673  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How much these features weigh most when you choose your favorite casino? on: March 22, 2023, 05:13:33 PM
For me the biggest thing is reputation. All else is secondary. It’s impossible to enjoy your gambling experience if it’s all fake and your coins are stolen the second they’re deposited. Besides some sites being thieves, there’s also incompetence. Did they buy the software from someone who left a back door? Will the entire site be hacked and have funds stolen? These types of things can happen if you aren’t using reputable services.
3674  Economy / Collectibles / Re: [INFO] Unloadable knock-offs on: March 22, 2023, 05:09:53 PM
It is a good looking coin. I’m not sure this is the sort of thing people want to support by purchasing though. I have no idea who is behind it, but it’s pretty clear that all they did was rip off designs from Mike Caldwell and Mick Bruce then combine them into a single coin. Unless they paid Mike and Mick or at the very least sent them free coins and got their approval, I don’t think it’s appropriate to support this.
3675  Economy / Speculation / Re: Price is looking positive green on: March 22, 2023, 04:59:41 PM
The rise over the last three months has definitely been exciting and profitable for those who are holding BTC. The explosion off the bottom continues and I think it’s more likely than not that we end the month at $30K. I’ll admit I though global recession fears had a good chance of keeping Bitcoin down this cycle, but I forgot that Bitcoin doesn’t care about politics.
3676  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: March 22, 2023, 08:38:58 AM

I would be afraid to bet on that Magic vs Wizards game. The Magic have actually been playing really well lately and winning some games they shouldn’t. I wouldn’t be surprised if they beat the Wizards tonight. It seems like from the odds I’m not the only one who thinks this way. It isn’t that I don’t think the Wizards are a much better team, it’s just the Magic have been on a roll.

Well you are right I was really hesitant at 1st but because of the Odds I tried my luck, and it was a close game then the Magic really won the game, they got 10 points lead against the Wizards, I think that is an outstanding feat to pull against the Washington Wizards and the Orlando Magic 1st win against the Washington Wizards this season, if I am not mistaken, that is why I have bet for the Wizards, well you win some and we lose some, we just got to bounce back up again,

I can’t explain it but Orlando has been playing really well lately. Ever since they traded Mo Bamba to the Lakers they’ve been beating some good teams. I’ve been avoiding betting against them for that reason alone. I don’t expect that team to do much and maybe they’re winning because teams underestimate them, but I’d be careful betting against them unless they’re playing really good teams.
3677  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: how much money is considered as "invest only what you can afford to lose" on: March 21, 2023, 09:05:35 PM
I agree that money "you can afford to lose" is different for everyone.  As a teenager, I couldn't afford to lose $10K.  It would have bankrupted me and left me homeless.  Even half that much would have been life altering.  I don't think there's any exact answer, but for me personally I think money I can't afford to lose would be any amount that brings me unhappiness or costs me my time feeling bad over.  If I'm losing time thinking about a dumb decision that cost me money, I lost too much.  It helps me to think about what I could have done with the money.  If I can afford to buy a girl a drink, then I can afford to lose $20.  It also matters how you "lost" it.  I've "lost" money where it was worth the entertainment value.
3678  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Buying cheap is best formula on: March 21, 2023, 08:59:31 PM
Obviously buying the dips is better than buying the peaks.  However, the important thing to remember is that you need to buy to benefit from Bitcoin or earn it in some other way.  I know a lot of people who watched me get "into" Bitcoin over the years and always said they'd buy at this level or when this happened, but they never do or they buy and then sell almost immediately when they didn't get rich overnight.  So buy low or buy high, but make sure you buy something (or earn it, trade for it, etc.).  Don't be that guy on the sidelines talking about how you knew Bitcoin was going to be the next global reserve currency but you were too busy doing other things to benefit from it.
3679  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Referral bonuses are waste of time on: March 21, 2023, 07:59:26 PM
On the flipside of this topic.  Is there anyone out there who has spent time trying to promote their referral bonus links in order to get more people under their referral plan?  It seems like such a thing would be highly profitable if you could get your referral link onto search engines for people looking to gamble or whatever else it is that you're promoting for referral fees.  I've seen people make a career out of similar advertising efforts, but I'm not sure if anyone out there is doing this or not.  I imagine if you were able to get a few big players under you that it would be extremely profitable.  However, just adding a referral link to your signature is probably not going to make you too much.

I've decided to start posting some of the personal message questions I receive asking questions to the threads so that others with the same questions can have them answered as well.  This one seemed like a good one as I'm not sure how often I've posted the amount of stock remaining.
