3661  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Manny Pacquaio vs. Adrien Broner on: January 20, 2019, 07:42:00 AM

When Pacman fights we expect knockout every time, if one fighter don't engage its not going to be fun to watch. Broner keeps watching the rounds to end. The fuck is that!
Being above of 146 I can say it's too hard to get a KO especially with the age of Pacquaio but the last fight is an exemption with Matthysse don't know what his condition at that fight. But with broner, even if you ask pacquaio he will definitely say its hard to KO him with broner's speed of running.
3662  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Localbitcoins seller trying Skrill scam? on: January 20, 2019, 03:47:23 AM
So you sent your funds to the seller? That makes sense that you have been scammed.
You should be careful of transacting to anyone even most people here or anywhere recommend to buy bitcoin in locabitcoins but that doesn't that buying there is 100% safe, you will still encounter some users that all objective is to scam, that's why you have to be careful when choosing people to transact with. Always make sure he/she has enough reputation to start.
3663  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Lending in the forum on: January 19, 2019, 07:02:45 PM
Good luck with this, such business is too risky pero profitable once success yung trade.

And I might suggest na you should not accept btt account as a collateral unless if trusted na masyado yung user base sa reputation niya not just rank, kase there are some rules na ginagawa ng mga DT, di naman siya official rules but some guidelines na bigyan ng red trust to those suspected na may ganong activity in this forum.
3664  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Reason Why Cryptopia Is SCAM on: January 19, 2019, 03:52:22 PM
No way they will just do an exit scam "easily" because they are fully compliant with New Zealand's crypto regulation. That means they are legit established company there. Im not disregarding the possibility of exit scam but I believed there's a "hidden stuff" here which all of us here didn't know so just wait for progress rather than assuming.
Still possible, if they file a bankruptcy due to the hack issue and somewhat refund some small percentage of the users funds or not at all and run the remaining. But of course all of them are speculations. Its been days already but still no positive report of the investigation.
3665  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Malware Found on a Movie Downloaded via Torrent Steals your Crypto on: January 18, 2019, 05:40:06 PM
We already have an open thread : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5097436.0

It is not true that this malware steals any crypto from user wallet, but instead it is inject bad code in some search engines, and even in Wikipedia. Users then see fake ads in which some popular sites ask for donation.

I really do not understand what is described in the article, downloading some file without check what is it all about. As far I know there should be option to check what is in the folder before download, and I bet that malware has not same size as HD movie. It's amazing how easy it is to fool people...
Oh I never saw that thread.

I'm not sure if the malware can't steal any crypto on the infected device as its mentioned in the article, and it can't be categories as crypto news if the news is not related to crypto, obviously. But about the bad code for some search engine and the wikipedia donation thing was mentioned.

Malware Found on a Movie Downloaded via Torrent Steals your Crypto and Poisons your Search Results
Source: https://ethereumworldnews.com/malware-found-on-a-movie-downloaded-via-torrent-steals-your-crypto-and-poisons-your-search-results/

I want to post this to press boards but I want more people to see this.
Though malware in a torrent file is not new after all, there are so many cases like this years ago but this time it's related to crypto. And since Bittorrent want to step forward to blockchain tech with TronxBitTorrent and I know still many people use torrent in file sharing and presume much larger number of people will be using this once it's tokenized, so do more culprits will get attach to this by uploading malware and more will be victimized as well.

So to those who are fond of using torrent please be careful and update your devices with anti-virus to protect yourself from this malware.
3667  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance 1.2k BTC account used for arbitrage still blocked and seeking assistance on: January 18, 2019, 05:19:57 AM
If I had that kind of BTC and Binance froze it I would immediately fly out to their office negotiate with them to settle this problem once in for all or at least speed up the process since you said the local authorities doesn't provide much of a help.
Probably, people suggest the same in r/ thread so do I.

That's not just penny of BTC that was frozen out there but worth 1k+ or millions of $$ as its current price, I'm sure OP can get a better lawyer to settle this.

It did get enough publicity I remember them saying his case was on investigation. Binance blocked his account because OP gave most of his information to a scammer and couldn't provide enough proof that's according to the top reddit comments(threads mentioned below).
I don't understand why people there keep stopping OP coz he was scammed by merely a video call in skype with binance, and email convo, whereas OP provides a screenshot with the email header of binance on zendesk, unless OP gave his login details where it will be questionable for support asking login details
3668  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance freezes stolen Cryptopia funds on: January 18, 2019, 01:11:52 AM
Are you sure Binance take freezes their asset, my opinion is not true because Binance is the greatest exchange market and impossible could make freezes balance, we have trust Binance is the best market and have higher secure of quality.
That's why you didn't get a single merit because of your trust on binance  Roll Eyes

But good to see that Binance do act with such hackings once it penetrated to their exchange addresses.
Base on some of his tweets, some people on social media did report the transfer to binance and to CZ that's why they act immediately.

i am more curious about what they are going to do with those coins. are they going to send it back to cryptopia or will they keep it for themselves? Smiley
High chance they will give it back to the rightful owners, no reason to keep it as theirs.

For an exchange, binance is proving to be a very secure option for security.
They might be the most secured exchange today but it doesn't mean that the site can't be hacked.

3669  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Looking for Service: Signatures on: January 17, 2019, 02:16:25 PM
Yea, thank you. I know the post - but they mostly accept fiat or btc/eth and we want to pay in our token. But much appreciated anyhow.
Some of them accept tokens as well look at this users below, but I'm not sure if they will accept your token as a reward.

3671  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Few Trusted Escrow Provider on: January 17, 2019, 06:12:42 AM
List updated.

48   Lauda   Ann   1-2% (with a 0.005 BTC minimum)
Has been excluded from my trusted escrow list as Lauda has negative trust.

Now I guess you have to include her due to her huge come back in dt1.

Also if you mind, would you update my recognition rank? as I see, 'twas been updated in bpip.org.
3672  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Hodler wallet on: January 17, 2019, 04:24:29 AM
Heard it somewhere in this forum but never tried it as I'm somewhat satisfied with the wallets I'm using, mycelium, electrum, and nano s.
3673  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Reason Why Cryptopia Is SCAM on: January 16, 2019, 05:53:10 PM
remember cryptopia have 2k withdraw limit per day, how hackers manage that ?
It can be the hacker got access their hot wallet and take all everything he wants without following the exchange's withdrawal flow system.

And same as few people I have some thoughts that this is some kind of exit scam but let's wait until some news and updates. I just saw some tweet that some of the funds we're forwarded to binance and the account or funds was freeze, and that's pretty stupid thing that hacker can do since blockchain is public and every moved coins will be traced.

3674  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: MyEtherWallet introduces "MEWconnect" for Android & new interface in beta phase on: January 16, 2019, 03:40:07 PM
it says the private keys will be stored in this device. So I closed the app and searching for the private key folder on my mobile, but can't find where it was stored.
I guess it will not be stored in the local file manager of the app but instead it will be stored in the root folder of the app mostly it's stored in its local database, few apps use sqlite for that.

so open the app again and entered encryption password but I can't login and even didn't find any tab to click after entering the password
This is the one that bothered me, have you tried to clear data then restored using its seed?
3675  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / The Ledger Nano S firmware 1.5.5 update on: January 16, 2019, 09:51:58 AM
The Ledger Nano S firmware 1.5.5 update is now available and contains new algorithms and security updates. We recommend Nano S users to update to it.

Read more here: https://www.ledger.fr/2019/01/16/ledger-releases-a-new-nano-s-firmware-update/

These 3rd party apps are not yet available on 1.5.5: Aion, Aeternity and Nimiq.

Let us know if someone did update their ledger, if all is good and nothing errors encountered as I see no reason to update the firmware asap.
3676  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Cryptocurrency One Big Ponzi Scheme? on: January 16, 2019, 04:18:51 AM
what if the whole idea of blockchain and cryptocurrency is just one giant Ponzi Scheme?
What if you read some articles if what is the definition cryptocurrency and a Ponzi.

A Ponzi scheme is a fraudulent investing scam promising high rates of return with little risk to investors. The Ponzi scheme generates returns for older investors by acquiring new investors. This is similar to a pyramid scheme in that both are based on using new investors' funds to pay the earlier backers.
With that definition, you can then know if crypto is a Ponzi
  • Crypto never promises that anyone can get $$$$ in 1 month or particular time once you start investing
  • There's no referral thing that will give someone an xxx commision once he/she was invited and start earning crypto.
3677  Other / Meta / Re: Ban Appeal on: January 16, 2019, 02:39:30 AM
I'm not really sure as there's a label of "due to spam and plagiarism" but I might guess it's a ban evading

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2355953.msg24006128#msg24006128

25. If you get banned (temporarily or permanently) and create a new account to continue posting / sending PMs, it's considered ban evasion. The only exception is creating a thread in Meta about your ban.
3678  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: MyEtherWallet introduces "MEWconnect" for Android & new interface in beta phase on: January 15, 2019, 04:37:33 PM
Thank you for that,it will really help lot of people to access their MEW access more easily,I am just downloaded it and looking forward to use how it goes for the next few days.
Can you tell us if it also has compatibility with connecting hardware wallet when sending eth or erc20 tokens? I can't see any details from the playstore and the medium link they release.
3679  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Cryptopia 'hacked' on: January 15, 2019, 04:14:46 PM
https://twitter.com/whale_alert/status/1084442862970945536

Looks like it's possibly $2.5 million in ETH. Unknown whether it's other stuff too.

Considering how piddling they are these days I'd be amazed they have the funds or income to cover it.
Besides that, here's another more than $1 million worth of CENNZ token transferred, so the total hacked assets will count to $3.5 million.

https://twitter.com/whale_alert/status/1084444049313021952

By reading some replies on some tweet related to this hack, there are still users who stored their huge assets like >5 btc in this kind of exchange despite of red flags.
