3661  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Is it worth it to mine doge? on: February 26, 2021, 06:25:26 AM
We cant deny though that this is much off better than those shitty new projects in the market as of this moment.
The legacy altcoins that became synonymous with the term altcoin before the days of ICO and Ethereum tokens started, namly DOGE and Litecoin are better and I agree with your point here.

Still buyers or miners of DOGE need to keep in mind that DOGE does not have any inherent development or use-cases which is the pitching point for many of the later launched altcoins. This does not make either of them good or bad. Some DOGE hodlers do hope for the DOGE future but these people also understand the truth and they sell when the price rises, not buy.

But the fact that there are communities out there trying to make DOGE popular is a point worth an applause.
3662  Economy / Economics / Re: Risk-takers always ahead financially on: February 25, 2021, 04:23:23 PM
Big risk takers, are not necessarily always ahead financial in the society, Calculated big risk takers on the other hand are the ones ahead. To win, you must take a calculated risk. If you sometimes just jump into a risk without proper and prompt calculation, you may not survive financially.
Even a calculated risk taking process involved some risk and hence can make you lose a lot. They are not necessarily ahead but thought to be ahead.

Thing is that there will be risks in speculative markets but being knowledgeable about the market and knowing what you are investing in makes a lot of difference in your holding patterns and choices.

Taking risk is good but if we can minimize the risks it will be better.
You can do that with practice and research.

Quote
Thats why we need to keep learning every single day so we can managed the risk.
Everyday is an exxageration. There is a world outside crypto trading too. If trading is not working out maybe your call is something different. Cool

Quote
Sometimes we need to take the risk but if we just taking the risk without any information or we don't know what we invested in it's kinda stupid.
It is not just stupid but dumb. However only the ones who have been trading will be able to know this.
3663  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Question about new projects on: February 25, 2021, 04:14:16 PM
Of course, developers create tokens to get funds to develop their platforms. Crypto has many users, there are small and large investors. By creating tokens for funding, small investors can take part in project development. This is a good opportunity for both.
I agree that it can give an impetus to small-cap developers and small-cap investors but these are only minor profits for either of them. The crypto sectors are saturated with lower number of possibilities that can be developed and unless something goundbreaking tech gets developed it will be like this with bitcoin being the top and ethereum close to it. We do see mainstream companies get wiped out with time and similarly shitcoins get wiped away from trading volume and get delisted.

Opportunity is there no doubt, but the number of actually working projects that have been able to develop an MVP and fund themselves enough to continue developing that is very small.
3664  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What to avoid as a beginner in trading Bitcoin? on: February 25, 2021, 02:18:13 PM
First thing to do is to avoid to register on pishing sites or links you are going to open with your computer because sometimes it generates codes which can hack your personal system in the future. Also avoid several strangers that may contact you through DM, it's obvious a scam. There are lot of things to be avoided as a newbie. It is better to seek advice from those who you trusted crypto users or traders.
A good advice because indeed one of the reasons why newbies lose money is even before starting to trade. That includes the false confidence that enthusiastic traders have and end up on phishing sites being blinded. Wallet software and how to protect from scammers is something that every cryptocurrency user needs to know and apply in order to be able to protect their coins.

As a beginner, it would need a very long read to learn which are the good projects but just by looking at the ranks on coinmarketcap, it can already give you an idea of which one to buy.
Rankings are good but true potential is not determined by ranking always. Of course Bitcoin is the biggest one out there so everyone should aim to buy some bitcoin if not a lot.

But the wrong move here is often buying altcoins that have been floating in the market just because they dont have enough liquid money to purchase bitcoin in significant amount. In the shoes of a newbie this seems appropriate to buy some altcoins but experienced traders know the curse that befalls any trader buying shitcoins - the endless cycle of despair because no altcoin is going to be next to bitcoin. Short term profits are possible though.
3665  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Is it worth it to mine doge? on: February 25, 2021, 02:09:54 PM
Doge coin isn't worth mining because it's less profitable, it's better to buy doge coin and hold for better value in coming months, if you want to mine any altcoin right now it's better to start with Ethereum, Ravencoin, eternity, beam, and Conflux
It becomes obvious. Dogecoin price has dropped back to lower levels now. 1$/DOGE is a wet dream of DOGE hodlers and that is not happening soon because of these hodlers who are not willing to hold DOGE anymore and on seeing Musk pump it, they sold off all their assets of the same.

Hence mining doge is not worth it anymore. But this thread was started in a time when it was seeming so which is a case of FOMO. I stand corrected on my first post in this thread that it would have been a waste of time and money for the OP to mine DOGE just because it was close to being high in price but never became so.
3666  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: why coinbase wallet transfer cost ether? on: February 25, 2021, 01:58:04 PM
Between two different exchanges you are actually sending the money through the blockchain and the fee is incurred by their internal fee structure.

When you are sending in between coinbase wallets - you are sending the token known as USDC which is a ERC-20 token on the Ethereum blockchain and in order to send that you need to the gas fee (Ethereum). This is not the case with sending Bitcoin from Coinbase wallet1 to wallet2.

Now ether price is high and gas fees are also high. Probably that is the reason why you are seeing the fee to be pretty big. Still nothing you can do about it for now.
3667  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Never Be in a hurry on: February 23, 2021, 07:14:45 AM
You will be in a hurry if you are having some shitcoin that you bought in back in 2017 hoping it to be the next bitcoin (< it was common then) and then you have not been in any position to sell it in the crypto-winter. Like Doge for example, when it pumped we saw a massive selling pressure and that is not a bad thing though - getting the cesspool in your portfolio out is a good thing to do.

What is actually bad is panic selling or panic buying. People have panic sold bitcoin thinking it will not come back up but such fears are irrational and only lead to loss of money. This also happens when your basic belief of bitcoin is weak and therefore such a person should not enter trading.

Dont be FOMOed when Musk pumps the next coin. Sell it when he does though. Dont trust these people at all.
3668  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Vs Future? on: February 23, 2021, 07:09:17 AM
Bitcoin is future currency's.
Is it too early to call it the present currency that is being used for transactions but not complete accepted by the governments?

Quote
People hold the bitcoin for long time. So people believe the bitcoin.
No this is a wrong interpretation of the statement. People hold bitcoin because they see a value in its price and are here for the profit. Very few merchants in every country are still accepting it so no.

Quote
Bitcoin is help to future growth and future savings. Bitcoin is best coin for the future investment.
How does a new currency help future growth? In terms of economies what bitcoin can help is already known but whether it can help in inflation removal or not is still a matter of debate. The IMF does not give a good view on bitcoin but celebs like Musk are all over it. This is only allowing these celebs to get rich selling their coins and not the common men for whom this currency was made - clearly the opposite of what Satoshi had envisioned.
3669  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is Elon Musk looking to buy more Bitcoin ? on: February 23, 2021, 07:01:53 AM
The ultimate market manipulator is at it again.
Your post context and your post title are different though, I would call it a clickbait much like what Musk is. Tongue

Anyway, we all have seen how Musk has manipulated the market and instead of going through a steady organic rise made the market crazy and pumped to 55k USD and predictions were flowing it for touching 60k - now look the has dropped back to 49k USD and the downtrend is going on.

This was what I tried to say in my previous posts. You dont buy at the top but sell. Musk probably sold his buying at the new high and now is smoking over his new profits. The losers are the ones who bought at 55K USD and now are at a loss.

These celebs dont buy bitcoin after saying that they bought it. They sell at that time. So dont get FOMOed, you will lose.
3670  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: MetaMask Wallet - Wallet penetration on: February 23, 2021, 06:55:40 AM
Im sorry for your lose but you should learn if metamask has a lot of bugs and it seems like the hacker has access to your wallet. Metamask is the crap wallet that ever exist in ethereum ecosystem. You should never use this again. Move to the mobile or desktop wallet.
I dont think that is the case. OP has probably been a victim of a phishing scam. These are too sophisticated to detect only from the transaction data posted by the OP.

Even then, let me ask, did the OP click on any suspicious link in the last 6days - because that is when these have started. Logging in from a hacked extension can also be the case.

There is only one legit Metamask extension and hackers have attempted to hijack systems running vulnerable software to get access to them. Metamask itself is not the problem. OP might be running a older version of the OS and older vulnerable version of a browser, maybe not on their phone but on other devices.
3671  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Best places to buy miners on: February 23, 2021, 06:49:24 AM
I go with what @SFR10 has said. The best place to look for mining hardware is that "Computer Hardware" section of this forum.

Few things you should keep in mind:

1. There are many websites coming up on the internet showing sales of miners - these are often fake and you are having no good method of verifying the site to be a legit or not by just looking at it. Older well known sites are trustworthy but I have seen many people complain on this forum about less known but recently bought domains showing such sales and these have ended up being scam.

2. When buying stuff from this forum, make sure to use an escrow and never send money directly to the seller.

NB. I hope you have done your homework on how to ROI from Mining because post-2013 the difficulty rise and hashpower competition has rendered bitcoin mining to be almost a negative ROI investment unless you are having a huge farm with a huge number of miners. But that is a topic for another section.
3672  Economy / Gambling / Re: Primedice.com | Creators of Dicing 🎲 | 60+ Billion Bets | 113+ BTC Jackpot! on: February 23, 2021, 06:42:25 AM
When you can see all that beforehand, it's not scamming.
Exactly, I dont know why some people always have to make up a reason to complain. Previously when bitcoin price rose PD reduced its Bitcoin withdraw minimum and looking through the history of the site we can find several such instances when PD has been the first to respond - the reason being only one, PD actually cares about its users and dont want them paying a huge amount for a withdraw.

Alas the memory of the public is short-lived and this is a well known fact which is why such topics often start here but old times will know what the truth has been. No wonder PD is still going strong even after crossing 8 years.
3673  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: how do they know? on: February 22, 2021, 05:22:58 AM
so they are predictions. I already know a lot of people predict that. some even say that "if the price of $ 50k is reached it looks like it could hit $ 100k" this looks crazy isn't it. but all that already there is calculation and analysis. we just wait for that moment at a later date
It is more reasonable to say that if 50k is crossed which has already occured, the next target will be 60k usd. Now that might be touched soon but as per the topic being discussed here, the bears will take over at that price. Let's see how much selling pressure builds up at that price a s whether the prediction becomes reality.

But such news articles are just opinions and not to be taken for granted like I previously said. Trade after doin your own research and not after reading random prediction news which any random person can write.
3674  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Finding an exchange to swap a small altcoin on: February 22, 2021, 05:16:52 AM
Depending upon the volume of coins that you have you might have a tough time getting a proper site to sell those coins. While there might be P2P deals available, there is also chances that someone here on forum might be willing to buy but getting such a buyer is the most difficult part and convincing then to buy is a other tough thing.

Still all altcoins have their day and so you might get a good price off it someday. For now I can only wish you all the best because this problem I have faced previously and I decided to move on from that coin than try to sell it.
3675  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Do you think DeFi season is going to be just like Altcoin season? on: February 22, 2021, 05:12:37 AM
Nope. I'm still not convinced with the "DeFi season". A lot of people here in forum considers Defi projects are the future scam projects in crypto market. I'm not yet really sure why they said that but it has something to do with the credibility and effectivity of those projects.
You are right to be not convinced about these words. In fact defi season has not started but ended. The influx of scam projects into defi using the name of defi shows that the peak has been crossed and now it has gone into scammer domain. Only the first few projects were what profitable and worth buying.

Currently the focus has shifted to doge and bitcoin with celebs pumping them like anything. This will change but defi is probably going to decline for now. Sadly enough the proper defi projects like bitrefill never got any traction.
3676  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Vs Future? on: February 21, 2021, 06:35:05 AM
Day by day many people will show their interest on crypto currency because banks and government are adopting bitcoin. Many countries are using bitcoin as their legal currency. Bitcoin has different uses also.
Please elaborate on these. Which countries have accepted bitcoin as legal currency? It is "legalized" or "grey-area" in many countries that allow it to be used but not made legal. Because if what you said was true the bullish trend would have been huge but it is not the case here.

Governments have not adopted bitcoin - this has been a question for several years now if they would ever adopt bitcoin and allow its free use. Would like to hear your explanation of the same for making this statement.

we can see this condition until mid-2021 whether bitcoin can stay at the highest position or only temporarily. bitcoin's target price is $ 50k and now it is at $ 46 which is amazing as bitcoin is close to that price
Currently it is trading at 56K USD so I dont think 60K USD will be too far away. If not we might see a drop but question is how well are the support levels. Even then for future thoughts, things will remain a pump and dump unless we see mainstream institutions actually force the governments to accept crypto.
3677  Economy / Gambling / Re: Primedice.com | Creators of Dicing 🎲 | 60+ Billion Bets | 113+ BTC Jackpot! on: February 21, 2021, 06:27:53 AM
i'm player of Primdice more than 5 years and I really satisfied using of this, Im happy that this gambling sites are reached 80 billion bets and it is one of the highest numbers of bets in the crypto online gambling. Also this gambling sites are helping for the dogecoin to rise the value.
They help make the name for DOGE and similar coins that have been a part of the legacy cryptocurrency group but to rise in value - I doubt that.

When a coupon loaded with DOGE comes into offering people are going to go for the free money and eventually lose it on the casino. They are then going to go with buying DOGE and spending more DOGE on the casino - you might argue that I am contradicting my opinion about raising the value of DOGE by this but it is less significant that what celebs like Musk have already done. Gamblers being impulsive will spent bought coins immediately and therefore the casino will profit.
3678  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: SCAM - NEUER CAPITAL / XTRGATE on: February 20, 2021, 06:49:56 AM
Neuer Capital (neuercapital.com) is a total scam and they also trade under the name XTRgate (xtrgate.com) so watch out.

The scam goes as follows: they build your initial investment up (I made 150% profit in my first month) and then you take a big loss so they then ask you to put in more money. When you refuse or ask to withdraw your balance they will ignore your continual requests and then ensure your balance goes to zero so you then have nothing left to take out. I don’t believe the profits you see are genuine, they just pocket your initial investment in the hope you will put in more or get friends or family to also invest with them.

After the first time this happened they eventually came back to me and said they wanted to help recover my account.  I didn't believe them of course but I went along with it to see how things played out and exactly the same thing happened again.  My balance was back up to around £15k so I asked to withdraw some funds but instead numerous phone calls and emails were ignored and an unrealistic trade was placed whereby my account was drained back to zero again.

I am sure that "profit" was just an eyewash and a fake number. 150% gains in a month is a unrealistic amount and brings up a red flag of being a ponzi/hyip scheme.

Tried visiting the site using a proxy but didnt get access to the page, but this type of amounts are shown only on ponzi sites to lure users. Sadly you fell for it and lost your money.

Quote
The people I have dealt with in this company are Christopher Green, Rick Voss, Adam Wolf and Maxim Logan - they are liars and crooks and not to be trusted.
Are you sure they are even real? The pictures could be stock images or photoshopped ones of other people in real. I tried visiting the site via proxy but did not get access from several countries. You should do a reverse image search before having trusted them.

Quote
There are a number of positive reviews of both companies but they are basically a copy & paste of each other.  Since I made my initial investment there have been numerous negative reviews on Trust Pilot where the exact same has happened to others.
Trust ratings are the worst indicators or legitimacy. Please dont trust those ratings for any site legit or scam. Most are paid reviews and you will never get an unbiased opinion from them.

Unfortunately you have lost your money, sites are ponzis (IMO).
3679  Economy / Economics / Re: Where the correction ? on: February 20, 2021, 06:42:39 AM
But who knows? I mean, even after watching the market you can't foresee how it will continue. I don't believe too much in TA, especially for a market that is so volatile and under such a huge number of variants.
TA is something that you accept as a 50-50 thing. TA works good when the trend has been set and how much it really works is still a matter of debate. If you are day trading, good luck with TA because you should be doing your own and not rely on others.

Quote
We haven't seen the correction, I think, but this doesn't mean we'll start to go down. It seems that alt season is starting, maybe just another cycle, Apple could vouch for Bitcoin at any time... who knows but in that case the correction may have to wait.
Price of bitcoin is holding steady over 51k USD and has crossed 55K USD as of this moment. Cant say that it will stop right now but I can assume that its next target is 60k USD. Bearish trend did not set it so altcoins will also pump along with bitcoin.

Dont bet too much on altcoins though, we all know how they dump when bitcoin stops its run. "Correction" may have already happened when it crossed 50k USD but the bulls prevailed.
3680  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Risk Management in trading cryptocurrencies ...?? on: February 20, 2021, 06:32:20 AM
There are horrible people in social media and this is not just true in crypto, this is true in everything about life.
I think learning how to remove yourself from social media presence is important here. Some people get misled and this is how how they assume things from such people to be true.

Quote
However we should still care about it, not agree not accept but care about it because what they do may have some consequences and that is why we should be checking it up, it is like having this politician you hate but you still read the news of it, same logic applies here as well.
I dont completely agree though. You could remain bluepilled and ignore them as much as you want. They will always be a voice out there trying to make a demand but you can go on your way and not give any importance.

I would not compare politicians with this, after all running the government is a different job, than running a brainwashing twitter page.

Crypto prediction and social media are something if put together can be a losing combination if followed. Rather than doing your own research you would blindly follow someone else who is running you like a puppet and draining your money.
