3661  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🦊 Betnomi.com | FPL Football Pool ⚽ Discussion Thread on: August 21, 2022, 01:56:24 PM
Think I have a couple of Chelski guys at least so this half not looking good for me heh heh.

Poor Hammers too... not scored a goal this season yet. At least United got another team to score a goal for them =D

Liverpool needs to show up tomorrow. Not just for my fantasy team but they really need to capitalize on Man Utd's poor form. No excuses, no "we had some injured players" or "it's a slow start for us", Man Utd are crap relegation fodder and liverpool should win this comfortably... Salah hat-trick and TAA with double assists incoming  Cool

Salah's not in my team IIRC (too expensive or something can't recall) but I might re-add him in if I get to shuffle, but will have to wait for Tues/Wedn when I get back in my seat. TAA string of assists + a goal though? I'd never complain against that and really, the way United been staring at headlights since last season, he won't find better games nor motivation than this one.

Might be too late to catch up with you FPL bastards too...

Didn't see this before and this is exactly what works in regions like Africa. I probably repeat myself too much on how I was amazed a decade ago with Mpesa -- it's all about mobile service in places where data/internet is a premium, if at all available!

Hats off to Bitrefill, surprised they didn't advertise it on their own site (or I didn't see it).

@findingnemo: in South Africa maybe, but still large swathes of the South who use GPRS phones. Or can't access data. Heck, I just went back home to my own village in a country that is high on the "HDI" list and we don't have data =)

Simple me again goes for an upset, Chelsea are too good probably but I just have a feeling Leeds are still primed and energetic enough in early season to take the game to the Blues, who're without Kante.

100 units at Sportsbet on Leeds to WIN vs Chelsea @6.39. Other odds: 5.90
Units advantage: 49

Running advantage after 7 bets: +379 (+49)
All-time cumulative: +83,503
Running units after 6 bets (2W|4L): +1,175 (-100)

Anyone got Leeds today? I would have been more confident thinking Tuchel wouldn't be by their side but apparently the bans didn't happen? Still took the home team over 6/1... and of course Newcastle over 8/1 since I can't help myself!

Arsenal plays really good and Jesus looks like best striker in the world right now. He managed to win almost all the duels today and was very dangerous throughout the whole game even though he did not score. Arsenal looks like legit title challenger, but I am still a bit skeptical if they have what it takes to battle it out with City or Liverpool. Have a feeling they will play good football but fall short in head to head games with the best teams in the league.

Yeah, my thoughts too. They've always managed to play attractive football even when not at their best -- I remember Auba/Lacazette when on song also looked irresistible. Problems they haven't proven to be fixed are two-fold: mentality and discipline (my memory seems to say they keep getting needless red cards, and this was even after Luiz left). To be fair, I haven't watched them play this season yet so shouldn't make quick judgments but need to see them play a Big Four (Six?) first before an assessment.

3665  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will BTC make a new high in 2022? If not then what will be peak point? on: August 21, 2022, 10:43:50 AM
I dont say ATH but BTC can act more positively then it is right now, its beyond the horizon.   If that estimated higher price then now is beyond sight its hard to guess on it really.   We dont have positive price action to go on for now, I can say the 50 day average is rising and that counts for something.   50 MA is only medium term at best, lets say the 200 day is fair target there or near about as a rough guide for this year.
We must both regain the 200 day average, then also turn it around which will require larger portions of time and volume to come, more then this year has left imo;  hence 200 day MA is my approximate limit for our reasonable target to this year from here on.   We could see prior instances to compare possibly but think Im correct time to process is required now.

Relatively speaking, ATH is only about 250% away from now, and that's after a pullback from some serious rallying amidst tough financial/economic figures in the past couple of months.

Of course, that ignores the general sentiment that there must be some bad news yet to come around the many coming corners -- so yeah, I wouldn't be talking about ATHs until after the next halving.

Thanks for the post. It feels like a familiar name from some years ago, and I'll go through and take the time to read this -- mind boggling for me how someone like CSW and co have somehow embroiled themselves in litigation with so many people. I just hope spirit of law, and common sense, prevails for Hodlonaut, as it has in the past against CW.

According to coinmarketcap https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/funtoken/ FUN token cost about 45sats one year ago. That is to say 30% above the current price(35 sats), so even if he earned 25% more tokens in addition to extra satoshis from WOF, interest and cashback it's yet to be seen if he manages to make big profits.

So he has a 5% shortfall, but I'm almost certain from the WoF spins alone he's in profit.

Interest (presuming he actually has an equal balance of FUN in satoshi) can't really count, since he loses the interest from converting satoshi to FUN. Cashback shouldn't count at all as that's gambling.

So it all rests on WoF -- I'd say even 5 a day is more than enough to at least break even.

P.S. My friend, waiting for you to join the Champions League pool Wink

@Joca97, boltz, hahay

Seeing you guys active in this thread and I know you're all old friends in the EPL pool and elsewhere, would love to see your participation in the Champions League pool that starts in 2 weeks + too Wink There's a 0.3 BTC sponsorship already escrowed as prizes. Maybe get your Bundesliga picks on in there with Mane and Bayern? (They are as usual one of the favourites!)
3669  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Sportsbet.io ⚽ Italian Serie A ⚽ Football Pool Discussion Thread 2022/2023 on: August 20, 2022, 09:49:43 PM
Ah, doesn't 0-0 bring you back to the "good old days"? Lazio at least I thought should have scored, but maybe a starring lineup of Salernitana, Udinese and Torino shouldn't surprise me, neither should 11 yellows and 1 red, huh?

No one in the pool figured that would happen for either game too, is the only silver lining. GG guys.
3670  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Odds, units advantage | Sportsbook | +82959 units on: August 20, 2022, 05:43:39 PM
Not your day so far and Conte was on touchline with players. Not sure how it works with manager bans, did he even got red card in last game? I sow the incident but did not see if they got carded after that.

First game on my ticket passed with this hard fought Spurs victory, 5 more to go today. Now it becomes time for some both to score games.

It looks like they both got red cards after the skirmish at the end of the game. But the punishment in the form of a ban was imposed later after the consideration of the case by the football association of England. It is interesting that Tuchel is found to be the main culprit and will pay a fine of 35 thousand pounds, and Conte only 15 thousand pounds. I don't know if this was the reason, but today's game turned out to be unexpectedly difficult for Tottenham.

Yeah cause apparently Tuchel was the one who clenched at Conte's hand when they "shook"... not that I paid much attention. They both got red carded, that's what the reports I remember reading said, so assumed they'd both be banned, so I guess I don't know the rules so much, if Conte was with the players.

Shouldn't have assumed.

BTW I was toying with Werder Bremen, but decided against it only because 8/1 odds didn't come. Shame!

Except for Rodrigo, these are all guys who haven't actually hit gear yet (yes, not even Salah).

Lol.  I had Kane but I changed my mind before confirming my picks to Son...  No goal for him, just hit the wood work.  :/  And I think the match should've been 2 - 0 for three points for an exact prediction in our pool.

For the rest of my picks this weekend, they are Doucoure, Mitrovic, Zaha, Vardy, Sterling and Salah.  I'm just playing it by ear as I really have no idea.  Will prolly have a clearer picture of what's going on in the league by match day 6.

Yeah, ouch. I honestly though it would be time for some of them -- Toney did score, but Vardy, Son not, Coutinho apparently not preferred, so I'm already well out of this edition.

Trying to catch the last bits of Arsenal game, I see Odegaard's got a brace. Relegation favs Bournemouth, huh.
3672  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: August 20, 2022, 03:36:45 PM
Damn me @boltz! I was eyeing Bremen to win today, but waited for odds to go to 8/1, thinking it wasn't great value below that... and then they stage a comeback win from 2-0 down at 89th minute... who on earth saw that coming?! Bet you odds were at least 100/1... missed opportunity doesn't get better defined than this. Sorry, BVB, you're doomed...
3673  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: SBI decides to withdraw crypto mining completely from Russia on: August 20, 2022, 02:12:38 PM
Wonder if any of these companies were involved in all these so-called new industrial zones geared towards mining/blockchain/crypto that many crypto media were talking up after the last ATH. Oblast this and oblast that supposedly putting up new nuclear energy with come-hither eyes to mining companies. Always wondered what happened to them. Even google's not showing me the results I remember used to propagate every coin news site.

@KTChampions indeed, if I weren't Liverpool-biased, I'd be putting United down all day any day for odds above 5/1 in the EPL. God knows I suckered myself into Manchester derbies (though I do remember a sweet 10/1 inspired win). They have never been this bad though... in my lifetime anyway. Might actually put a dollar on them for relegation if they lose heh.

@toma Yeah I'm doing a BB for sure!
3675  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Odds, units advantage | Sportsbook | +82959 units on: August 20, 2022, 11:00:03 AM
^ Yeah, check out p2p, there are many others and I believe even on non-Bitcoin platforms there are wider options (but not deep liquidity).

Simple guy that I am, I see Spurs could have a tiny chance of losing their way without Conte on the touchline? Who knows? Game in 30.

100 units at Sportsbet.io on Wolves to WIN vs Spurs @8.70. Other odds: 8.10
Units advantage: 60

Running advantage after 6 bets: +330 (+60)
All-time cumulative: +83,454
Running units after 5 bets (2W|3L): +1,275 (-100)

I think this is the third season right? I only saw like 2 winners in all 3 seasons, that is like realizing how hard it is. The reward is that huge accordingly though, 10k dollars is not a small reward, it's huge and that is why it's normal for that few winners as well.

Fourth season. I remember when prizes were paid out in 100s of mBTC back when Bitcoin wasn't so crazy high in the first season. Managed to take some great wins too on freebet parlays in UCL. Didn't get much second season. Last season someone won $10,000 for 7 picks in the very first Match Day.

My picks (yes, guys I finally am in): Son, DCL, Toney, Coutinho, Vardy, Rodrigo, Salah.

Except for Rodrigo, these are all guys who haven't actually hit gear yet (yes, not even Salah).

Is Trofo going to make an appearance this weekend or Monday? I think I might finally be able to come into chat, didn't think I'd say it but I actually miss you guys ha!

Southampton and Arsenal play tonight, so my first games look fun already. Don't forget to look out for the specials later, am sure there's something nice for the partner teams!
3678  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sportsbet.io's English Premier League Football Pool Discussion Thread on: August 20, 2022, 07:36:20 AM
Liverpool over 1.6 to beat United, value odds for me, so I placed something a bit silly, might even top it up on Monday itself.

Surely they can't NOT win for 3 games in a row, but surely United would say they can't lose 3 opening games in a row... something has to give. Football drama is just so wonderful isn't it guys?

Ronaldo, Sancho, Varane, Casemiro now... if that doesn't strike fear into our hearts, what will? Like Welsh says, he's brought in to stabilise the ship, much in sync with every buy thus far. But the ship's missing a rudder, don't matter how many great sailors you put on it.

Long live Glazers =D
3679  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why there is so much resistance at $23k price on: August 20, 2022, 07:02:49 AM
^ Only bad news if we don't retain levels + volume, and test 20k (which looks to be the case right now) before Monday. But that's only bad news for the short term. It's been some legs up on recovery and was bound to have some profittaking, which is my feeling about this dip. I know Fed numbers have been blamed but I thought that had all been priced in anyway -- and Fed actually said we're likely to see hard rate hikes by end of year, so don't think that's what tipped the tumble.

3680  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What will be running in your mind if Bitcoin reaches $1000 again on: August 20, 2022, 05:56:01 AM
That said, I'd be really confident of a terrific bounce up if we do touch 1000!
Bouncing up wont be a guarantee because after seeing 69k and dropped on $1k then it would really be showing off different story where it cant really be avoided that you would be thinking that this might be the end
of bitcoin since it is really just too low if we do consider on whats the ATH and it do ends up on dropping that low which even experienced or old timers of this market will really panic if this time happens.
Some might be still considering on buying up on these prices since its pretty cheap but as long the price wont really go to zero then there's always the probability of recovery
or huge pump ups and this is where those buyers been hoping for for it to happen.

Yeah I know there are no guarantees -- that's one of the literal guarantees of crypto markets (or any other type of speculative activity really!).

I'd just be really confident, in a space where my confidence is rarely peaked Wink

Zero is as likely to me as $1 million, so yeah, I'd definitely take my chances.
