3681  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NXT :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: April 07, 2014, 11:26:50 AM
I can try to answer that. Not so soon!

Because JL just introduced fractional NXT and fractional Assets. This needs some good testing before it can go live!

dont we also need multigateways to be fully functional and tested with a few different cryptos also? and james + wesleys secret project.. and this fiat support that james has also mentioned..  Cheesy

AE and multisignaturegateway are two complete different things. What you are thinking is a simple fiat gateway or btc gateway within the AE. This just works with tokens that a trustworthy person sells, that can be redeemed for a real btc

Well, if you don't want to discuss seriously, then bye bye.

What serious discussion? You came here preaching me about sins.

so Sin=illegal for you?

where do you live? irak?
3684  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][CHA] Chancecoin protocol, client, and coin for decentralized dice betting on: April 07, 2014, 03:01:00 AM
Another question. There is no way to make betting cheaper? Is 0.0001086 set in stone? Is there a way to maybe only use one escrow address?

It is not clear to me how the system actually works, sorry if those questions are retarded!
3685  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [BLTZ] [IPO Hybrid] BlitzCoin | proof of concept coin | pure speculative on: April 07, 2014, 02:07:06 AM
If creator was incompetent of doing his job and bailed on us, we all have some friends or some person we know that could replace him, I know some people but they have their own businesses and are not interested in bitcoin business whatsoever, some people just mine and sell like other "mormons" and are not interested in maintaining something... but that's just me, maybe some of you know a person that would be interested in? maybe someone who want's to create his own coin can instead keep running this so he doesn't have to do all the marketing etc. for his new coin and beg people to mine it and get interested in it...

The problem with this coin is, that the logic was flawed from the beginning. How could a coin be resistent against attacks, if there is POW in use and no reward for applying it? Doesn't make any sence..

I'm far from a geek or some kind of a programmer (more into other stuff in life) but as far as I learned programming in college code can be modified/altered? I'm sorry if I said something stupid but I just think that nowadays it's not the point in creating tons of new coins just so someone can get couple of $$$, everyone could do that, I could learn it and use my marketing/psychological skills to sell bull$$ to people and bail out... but that's not the road this whole community should go... whole "bitcoin" community in general... I got so pissed off after mt gox incident and all I can see now is people running around in fear trying to get couple of $$$ and who will be a better scam artist... Just hope this whole bitcoin story ends well, because despite all those bad people there are always more good who will stand up for something and make some change...

Sure the code can be evventually changed. But a core change from POW to POS is NON-trivial. No dev will be able to do that in his spare time... Easiest thing would be to fork an existing POS coin and use a snapshot of BLTZ to create a POS genesis block and redistribute.

Anyway, the way things look, this coin is dead and no dev will want to beat a dead horse.

Yeah, it looks like a bug in the binary client. I'll look into it and get back to you. Hopefully we'll get the new bitcoinj version out soon. Thanks for testing stuff out!

No problem, I like to help where I can.

I have some problems understanding what exactely is happening when betting or placing orders. Could you help me figuring it out?

This is a bet, where I placed a 0.01 CHA bet: https://blockchain.info/tx/dd768e799afffc44a06eacb976c4a050bccc8c706232499d186bbad6a0657088?show_adv=true
There are 3 outputs:
  • 0.0001086 BTC  Escrow
  • 0.0001086 BTC  Escrow
  • 0.0001086 BTC  Back to my own account.

What exactely happens here? Do you even get the BTC back from the Escrow addresses? The strange thing is , that blockchain.info shows those funds in the escrow addresses still as balance of my main address.

What intrests me most is, if the transaction costs me 0.0001 BTC for fee, or 0.0001BTC fee and two times 0.0001086 for escrow?

Thank you ( I know that I can be annoying Cheesy )

PS: Are there plans to lower the house edge? 1 % would be better in my opinion, as most BTC-Dice casinos use 1 % houseedge.

The transaction does indeed cost you 0.0001 BTC for the fee plus 0.0001086*2 for the escrow. The escrow addresses are what the Chancecoin protocol reads from to interpret the bet. This is a bit of information that we'll have to document somewhere.

Since people are burning under the assumption that the house edge will be 2%, we can't change it easily, but it's something the community could discuss in the future.

Thank you for the information.

Right now the risk for the "site bankroll" is 1/2 kelly kriterion. If we would change the house edge to 1% we could then keep the kelly criterion constant at 1/2 Kelly by setting the max profit to 0.5% site bankroll.

How do you propose do we ask the community? because i'd rather change this soooner than later.

bitcoin is going nowhere, it's literally the new paradigm, but 99.999999% of people just *dont get it*... yet

Let me guess, you were shouting things like that, since BTC was 1$?

Also, can we implement 2 more colloms:

1:  Result:  "Win" "Lose" or "Pending"
2:  Dicenumber "XX" (So we know if it was a loss by a few digits, or by a big margin Wink )

I see your bets resolving properly (see http://chancecoin.com/casino). The one where you bet 1.0 CHA with chance 98% and payout multiplier 1.0, you actually won, you just didn't profit from it because the payout multiplier was 1.0. This is an example of a bet where you stand to lose everything or gain nothing; you're just sacrificing house edge with no potential gain for yourself.

As for your suggestions, they'll definitely be in the new wallet.

There must be something wrong.

I had 1400.16126543 CHA in my wallet.

Then i made 6 bets. 10 10 1 1 1 1 = 24 CHA bet.

Now i have 1376.16126543

So i bet 24 and lost 24 CHA. How is that possible?

Somebody won, so how to know who won?

Well, the way CHA works is, if you win, additional CHA get created, and all other coins are now less rare and a bit lower in value.
If you lose, the CHA get destroyed, this results in all other coins being MORE rare and a bit higher in value.

Weird, I see your balance after all that as 1401.98839117. It looks like your wallet isn't resolving your bets for you. I will look into that and get back to you, but rest assured your haven't lost those coins.

Ahh, ok! The profit of each of my bets showed 0.00   Thought that was strange.

I will restart everything and report back! Smiley

PS: I love this coin, this is really awesome!!!!

I like the website and the idea behind it, but it is not very accurate lately Wink

I made the test and save a screenshot of the 24h graph every 24 hours. There is SOME correlation, but most swings where not accounted, or the opposite direction was predicted.
3694  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: If I had $1000.... on: April 07, 2014, 12:28:56 AM
If I had $1000... What would be the best investment? SHA Mining... Scrypt? for Scrypt..GPU? Gridseed?... advise me

Buy 2 BTC and be happy, that you just bought more BTC than a 1000$ in investment would have EVER mined.

History is a good indicator...
3695  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Miners DUMPING their ASICs on: April 07, 2014, 12:26:36 AM
PANIC

haha yeah. Most miners never do any math and speculate with a rising BTC price to pay for the hardware. When in fact just buying BTC would yield a better ROI overall.

Well, and if the BTC price does not appreciate, they wonder, why the difficulty keeps rising. LOL
3696  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Best Alt coin to invest in 2014 on: April 07, 2014, 12:24:18 AM
vapors

You do know that NxT has been in development longer than NEM?  BCnext had worked on NxT for an undisclosed amount of time before his announcement and then there was still a wait after the public announcement.   Of course you should know that because you're a NxT holder like me.  If we had to compare the development time between the two coins, NxT has spent more time in development than NEM has.

If you want an example of vaporware then you want eMunie - that was announced back in March 2013 (not 2014) and has been delayed close to a half dozen times.

I am a NEM and NXT fan, so full disclosure.

But by definition, NEM is vaporware right now. Can't argue that really Wink

Yes, it does. gambling is a sin forbidden by Our Lord Jesus Christ.

Do you stay awake at night thinking about how you can scam people more efficently?

Says someone whose signature pumps a gambling site?

Does a gabling site scam people out of their money ?

Why do you think that pump/dump is illegal in nearly EVERY JURISDICTION IN THE WORLD?
