3681  Economy / Securities / Re: ASICMINER: Entering the Future of ASIC Mining by Inventing It on: June 26, 2015, 09:42:15 AM
Oil immersion cooling has been round for years, I understand big studios like Pixar are all over it. Chips generate heat.
What I don't understand is AM1's resistance around 0.005... What could anyone possibly expect from this cadaver?
Just wild longshot bets? Hoping for aliens to land and present the winning powerball? I don't get it. I could see bagholders holding in hopes of some outside chance, living in total denial, yes, but they create no volume.
This is so depressing

Are there any recent takers at 0.005?
Today 5 shares went for 0.0062
One share yesterday at 0.005
Drips and drops but on the 22nd 180 shares traded at 0.0062999
Defies logic
See it here https://www.havelockinvestments.com/order.php?symbol=AM1
It's not much volume, but any action at all makes no sense.
Bigger fools?

I believe those are newbies that did not carefully check the status of the company. They only read that Asicminer is cool and think, oh, its so cheap.

You get the same for newbies that heard mining is so cool. Until they learn about the difficulty. Though at that point a lot of them already have bought.

So i dont think that theres a big plan behind. Only people that dont know the bad news.
3682  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: [ANNOUNCE] Electrum - Lightweight Bitcoin Client on: June 25, 2015, 01:57:14 PM
I only now realized that its even more confusing. I found a transaction that came in and was black. Then it went out and was black too.

The only difference i can see with the ongoing transaction is that the actual received amount is smaller as the amount that went from the source address to the change address of the senders wallet.

Thats really confusing.
3683  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: [ANNOUNCE] Electrum - Lightweight Bitcoin Client on: June 25, 2015, 01:37:56 PM
Something i always found is confusing is that electrum shows outgoing coins as a black line and incoming coins as a grey line. Normally in financials being in the black means being positive and being in the red means negative. Here the black line is negative and the weak grey is positive.

I would prefer switching that and turning grey into red. That would be way more easy to read.
3684  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: [WTB] BTC Have Paypal @Preev Rate on: June 25, 2015, 11:38:58 AM
That would mean me ruining my account, I wouldnt jeopardize my Bitcointalk account for a few fractions of a  BTC.

That wouldn't help you because your account is rather young and cheap. You could buy a replacement easily depending on the amount of money you scammed. Thats why you risking your account is no insurance anymore on this forum.

Ok, if you trade a low amount then that might be. But you can chargeback for 6 months. And a buyer never would know if you use the time to exchange some couple hundred usd in paypal over that time.

I agree... bitcoiners were burned way too often. You wont have a chance to exchange paypal i think.
3685  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Reputable/Trustworthy Mixers on: June 25, 2015, 11:35:19 AM
You can always use an exchange of your choice. I suggest bitfinex.com, because they don't wait for many confirmations. When you withdraw you will withdraw from another address in their wallet. So nobody can connect the dots until he has the data bitfinex owns.

exchanges are not a private mixer. especially if your account if verified with your personal details. a bitcoin mixer is much better as they respect your privacy in full. as amph suggested already, bitmixer.io is a trusted mixer.

Do you want to wash scammed coins?  Roll Eyes I dont see whats the problem with exchanges as long as you dont fear they are corrupt and could extort you or that you deal with illegal things and need to hide from the law.

You know... in mixing bitcoint mixer arent as good as exchanges. Mixer often enough allow it to guess pretty good what happened. Its simply because they are bound to pay out the funds in practically the same size, even though over some addresses, and in a certain timeframe. That leaves not so much possibilities as to what happened.
3686  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NXT] Nxt - Official Thread on: June 25, 2015, 11:32:14 AM
it is very easy. the alias solution is max. simple and solid and it has zero side effects on trading.
for the issuer it means just ~20 lines of additional code, that's it. skynet for instance will support this
divi solution later just by traversing the shareholders list, scanning for a divi alias. if found, it is used,
if not, a standard nxt payment is made.

however, multigateway is good too.

Ok, then lets speak a bit more about that json. Im not so much into nxt that i know already what its about.

The json is a action directive that gets triggered when paying out divs?

So lets assume you implement the json, then you can have your bitcoins in your own wallet and how would you send out divs then? The shareholders could get their divs as real btc in their own wallets. Not btc tokens?

Im sorry but im very new to nxt and i did not understand the system so well.
3687  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are the pro and con's about forking bitcoin? on: June 25, 2015, 11:27:41 AM

The biggest con to Bitcoin XT is the fact that Mike Hearn apparently wants to consolidate power over the blockchain via miners, and get the ability to freeze / blacklist bitcoins, as he mentions here:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5979.0

I've been basically 100% Bitcoin for over 2 years now, but if that little proposal becomes reality, I'll be switching back to fiat immediately.

You obviously didn't understand what Mike Hearn writes there.
Freezing Bitcoin is theoretical possibly in the current system, if you have all miners on board. That is a fact. No fork needed for that.

You are right. Though when bitcoiners really will go ahead and give "their" bitcoin away to a private company, where the development of the blockchain and the wallet is decided to some private persons and that company, then why the heck should miners switch away later? First they take that offer, so i don't see many will switch later.

It's like a vote. If you chose bitcoin xt then you chose a company that will decide what will happen to the bitcoin wallet and the blockchain.

Hearn and co make so much trouble as if the remaining developers doesn't understand the problem. Of course they do. They only don't take part in that fear advertising campaign for a company bitcoin xt. Bitcoin core will be forked for sure. Its simply needed. No real developer will deny that. It only doesn't have to happen now instantly. We have time to find the best solution. But hearn let it sound like tomorrow bitcoin will die. And we all should give his company the power to rule about our coins.

I won't take part in this. But i fear the community is not so united. I fear a damage to the price of bitcoin. Though maybe bitcoin core gets patched fast and bitcoin xt is losing its momentum.
The difference to other votes is: You can always change it. When I like their current fork, I switch to them. If they make another fork, I don't like I can switch to another client. As long as it is open source, somebody can just take it and make their own version of it.
So, nobody gives anybody any control over future developments, just because he chooses their client once.

I think peligro already mentioned why it still will be a problem. When bitcoiners really would switch to bitcoin xt, knowing all the dangers to their coin, then its unlikely that they will switch again later. I mean they first accepted the downsides, they chose it even because of that. Why should the same bitcoiners do the opposite then? So i think he is right, it would mean a risk to our bitcoin.

And the scenario is real. I did not seldom read that some would wish a centralized ruler, just to take away the trouble of making decisions and the fights. Giving in to that might hurt bitcoin even when they switch back later.

Though we will see. Wink
3688  Economy / Economics / Re: maybe the big opponents of bitcoin are not the banks but their IT providers on: June 25, 2015, 10:07:57 AM
Thats not a problem at all. Remember the p2p-softwares going around? Being hunted down by companies and copying users marked as thugs? The simple solution was to change the way the users communicate. Protocol obfuscation, freely chooseable ip's, traffic scrambled so that no deep packet inspection was possible and more things. ISP's couldnt see anymore what they transported.

I dont think theres a problem coming from that direction. Because we solved these kind of problems before already.
3689  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NXT] Nxt - Official Thread on: June 25, 2015, 09:32:34 AM
Its called multigateway and the backing is 100%. Its a multisignature setup managed by superNET. You can find out more here: https://multigateway.org/

So its this site. The bitcoin token are not part of the nxt network itself, like it is with bitmarket? but the advantage is that you can buy nxt without crashing the market. Right?

perhaps this is another, simple and solid solution for external divi payments.

shareholder register an alias pointing to a BTC address for dividends.
no need for tracking ownership now. query the standard api for shareholders
as usual when divis are triggered and pay out directly in BTC to the alias target.

target address can be modified also if needed. this approach can be used
to handle any coin for any divis. alias could be like this: divi2btc1... or divi2ltc1...

would cost one time 1 cent for a schareholder but it's worth and very flexible.

ps: an divi2nxt... could be use to redirect divi payments into a cold storage for instance.

Thank you for your tip but i think that will be too complicated for the issuer i have in mind. For the first things shareholders would need to act, which would make trading these shares a bit more complicated. And the issuer is no man who wants to invest much time unfortunately.

I wonder if nxt would have a problem when div payments are sent with btc, not with nxt.

For now it sounds like that multigateway is the easiest way. But still. It would involve another step. Exchanging fiat to btc and then to nxt, then pay out divs.

Hm... would be great it nxt would be as easy to use as one might imagine it. Wink
3690  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Optimal Hard Fork Survival Strategies on: June 24, 2015, 06:59:32 PM
Sometime early next year it's likely the blockchain will fork into the XT-chain (allowing for bigger blocks) and the Core-chain (with the 1MB block limit). Assuming Gavin's current proposal is what gets included into XT, it will happen 2 weeks after 75% of the mining power indicates they are mining on the XT-chain. After that the Core-chain will either die or survive.

Oh well, i stopped reading here. The amount of clearvoyance you show is too much for me.

First, bitcoin core will surely get a higher block limit. Secondly... why do you think the majority of miners will switch to a bitcoin version whose is owned by a private company? I cant believe that happening. Otherwise i would have a really wrong view about bitcoiners and their thoughts.

Bitcoin under a tradename Bitcoin-XT, with a developer and company that decide what will happen with bitcoin. Surely that would be the dead to bitcoin and surely i would stay at bitcoin core or leave bitcoin totally. Bitcoin wasnt invented to take financials out of the hands of the banks only to give it in the hand of a private company.

bodgybrothers, do you still read here? I sent you a pm but it might be you only used that account to write in here.

I got a request for a security code review and i wanted to ask if you might want to help the one needing it.
3692  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Methods of growing your Bitcoin? on: June 24, 2015, 06:36:37 PM
So what did you post here? A theoretical profit example? Do you think there is anyone who did not know that buying and selling at different times will bring you a fortune?
Yes, me for one... I had honestly thought that large altcoins like LTC were effectively pegged to BTC.  I was very surprised to see exactly how much swing there is between LTC\BTC.  In theory, I like trading BTC to ALT better than BTC to Fiat, since the former can hop from exchange to exchange, where the latter, not so much

There was the big jump in January, and again in June.  Any idea what predicated it?  New mining outfit, difficulty change?  Merchant adoption?  What does one study (other than a crystal ball) to gleen out these opportunities in the LTC/BTC market?  Or is the answer really... Crystal ball?

Perhaps markets and exchanges lack the sufficient volume yet to really apply any economic theory to, or perhaps they are just routinely corned by major players.

I'd be interested to know the how and why actually.

I don't get why people do BTC to fiat. Well, I actually do, nothing matches the BTC/fiat volume and for a day trader volume is everything.. but it's so much more rewarding finding the right alt and buying at the begining and then cashing out a the top. It takes time to find the correct one along with a lot of time, but when it works it's just great.

Its probably because its way too risky too. I heard many speak like you do, only to see them some time later claiming they stopped doing it because they got burned. Its probably a bit like with ponzis. Some think they could turn a profit when they invest as the first and be golden before they default. Though they get catched sooner or later.

So i would say altcointrading holds a lot of risk. Being a bit too slow and...

schau mal hier, vielleicht bringt dir das was:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1094420.0

Any news about the payout of the mtgox coins? Its a month nearly since the last date to claim your lost coins and so far i dont have seen any more news.

Does all things work the way it should?
3695  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] Purse.io - Bitcoin Amazon Marketplace - Save ~10-25% on Amazon Wishlist on: June 24, 2015, 06:21:47 PM
Is there a way to keep the order private, so that I just fund it later and publish it?

Your order will only be published when enough funds are in your account. Though when you have a couple orders that are funded and waiting to be bought and another order you will hide, but there would be enough funds in your account, then there is no way to hide it.

The only solution would be to safe your wishlist and make notes about shipping costs and vat. Then you can create the order fast.

Also Rechtliches.

Maybe it would make sense to create a new thread with the old data and the new one. Im not sure what happened to the original Poster but if this thread leads more to confusion than to a learning experience then something should be changed.

Will OP come back?
Reading the last page of a thread is really hard, isn't it?

He's busy with other stuff. I'll update it later when I can. If someone wants to collect all the info that needs updating that'd be appreciated.
Yeah, I am here, but really busy with my lasts weeks of school. Hilariousandco, if you could update the OP that would be great. If you are busy as well, I could try to do it tonight.

So, will I come back? Yes. Am I around? Yes. Do I have time to update this thread? No. I'm very busy with school.

Im sorry mitchell. I should have read. Though i have read that it was last update on june first and i assumed that the thread starter stopped working on it.  Roll Eyes Happens not seldom.

Ok then. Im not sure why you cant update the thread though when you can answer me and all changes are already created for you, so that you simply can implement it.

So my daughter started to ask me about bitcoin since she has see me pay for a few things online so now our kitchen is turned into a brownie factory because she wants to earn bitcoin by selling brownies, it actually not a bad idea lots of people like brownies.

*lol* Sweet... though i hope you find a way to sell them since it will be hard to find enough users that will be able to pay in bitcoin. You dont want to break the heart of your little daughter i guess. Smiley

Hm... maybe act as a seller for your relatives or something like that? Though even then, it would be easier to buy directly with fiat.

I hope you find a solution!

Smiley

Vaagar anbietet

Smiley
