3681  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Setup & Troubleshoot] Bitmain AntMiner S1 180GH/S miner on: March 13, 2014, 11:26:42 AM
If I had a 1000w that had 6 6+2 pcie connectors, I could power 3? Would just have to supply the plugs and Ethernet?

NO, you can't.
3x 360w = 1080w

You can power two Ants though.

3682  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Can we Sue MTGOX for the leaking our Private info ? on: March 12, 2014, 11:17:04 PM
They filed for bankruptcy in U.S.
What if you sue them in another country, Japan let's say?

I am looking for a loan too.

I am looking for 500BTC and I will pay you back yesterday.....   Huh

Hello, Anyone have tried replacing the fan with any other which are slient than the inbuilt one?
The fan which comes with Ant is extreamly noise.
So i wonder if i can put some silent fans from coolmaster on the both sides.
All suggestion and comments are welcome.

"Silent" fans are mostly a scam, they just spin slower and move less air. That won't keep an ant miner at the recommended temperature; they already automatically control the fan speed.

The best things you do reduce noise are:

1. Relocate the miner where you can't hear it.
2. Reduce ambient temperature.

May I add that you could add another fan on the other side?  Grin
It does help  Wink

@s4vv4s
You have a newer account than I my friend!
Kinda funny that's your truth gauge but to each his own I suppose, lol.

I guess I should start with...
I am a miner since the awesome avalon boxes.
Kept buying a little hardware here and there to keep making a few bucks.
I was looking for KnC competition since I have some money in them right now, and found this ad for the 1T.
I hate being lied to, BFL, Josh and that whole crew have really made me hate scammers and liars  (same thing in my book) even more than your normal person.

I was going to write up a huge post about all the inconsistencies in the story (both sides) but then realized just one piece of info is actually in contention here.

His own words.

"So if you want to join this host plan, PM me or send a mail to peicaili@gmail.com or add me skype:Skypepcfli. By the way, if you do not want to join this hosting plan and just want buy a miner from me, you can also contact me via above method"

I suppose in hindsight that this could be a typo, not realizing that it was a capital vs regular, not thinking that this would be a problem etc.
Per suchmoon that doesn't even matter because it is a display name not an actual skype ID.

@ suchmoon:
Good call, I am not a normal skype user, didn't realize display vs ID.
That screenshot, is of Helmax not of FireJuan, I believe.
If it is Fire's, that is pretty damning evidence of him being in contact with the "real" Pcfli and the "Scammer" Pcfli. Weird he also has Escrow.ms in there (not .ns or ecsrow interestingly enough)
But for this to be the case, and the scammer not be the real pcfli, Fire would have had to sent out 2 messages to two different skypes requesting proof on Bitcointalk.
I guess more info is needed of Fire.

Since I am not that fluent in skype I have a few formatting questions as well.
I noticed in one post here that the dates seem a little loopy.
https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=http%3A%2F%2Fi57.tinypic.com%2Fi5yck8.jpg&t=538&c=tTubmnTyG7qCBA
Is it normal for "yesterdays" conversation to be on the 5th but then having a date of the 9th?

Quote
"As for the other guys called helmax the thing is much simple , i didnot know him until tomatocage tell me he raise a scam issue against me and he add me in skype in 9 march and start the first conversation with me in 10 March and  keep saying “send my money back”
But that screenshot  you posted does show that it was on march 5th (screenshots are not evidence)

Can someone 2x check to make sure I didn't screw something up?

The more I dig, the less I think I know.
Nothing is adding up here.

You have registered an account before me yes.
But you have only posted twice and this is the second time and both at the same thread.
What gives?

Listen, I couldn't care less if you lost money ( I am being honest here) because it is your responsibility to make sure that you don't.
But when you show up here and start accusing people you yourself should be a bit more "legit" let's say.

That being said,
A fool and his money.....

If you lost money, I am sorry but you are stupid and that is why you lost it.
It means you shouldn't have had it in the first place because you DIDN'T RESPECT IT.

Don't get me wrong and don't get started.
It is the hard cold truth.

3688  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to steal Satoshi's stash? on: March 12, 2014, 10:44:10 PM
I have a Bachelor degree in fundamental physics, a Master degree in Mechanical Engineering, a European Masters in Management and Business Strategy and also preparing a PhD

And yet you're still an idiot. Further proof that education doesn't make you smart.

I've worked in the computer industry for several decades. Everybody in this industry knows that Moore's Law is an observation of a trend, not a fundamental guarantee of future performance. And everyone knows that the constraints of physics (which you yourself claim to hold a degree in) will put a halt to that trend.

But I'm not going to try to convince you of these fundamental truths, or try to explain the math to you. Trying to educate educated idiots is a provably obvious waste of time. I'm just going to point out what a stupid fuckwit you are and be done with it.

Oh, but I will give you a tip: smart people know how to recognize people smarter than themselves. This is a critical differentiator between idiots and smart people.

Can I also add that smart people want to hang out with smarter people in order to get smarter?

3689  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Setup & Troubleshoot] Bitmain AntMiner S1 180GH/S miner on: March 12, 2014, 10:39:38 PM

Most of the above are NTP related.
Have you tried disabling NTP?
Just to see where that gets you.

The damn thing has gone completely lame. both blades dead, the led's on the wrt board are lit but the one under the rj45 connector is dead. Reset has no affect. will try swapping PSU but I fear the WRT board is shit.

Sounds like a connection problem to me.

EDIT: Can you ping google.com from your miner?

Tried a different PSU same problem, blades dead, rj45 jack wouldn't connect. For shits and giggles tried a new cable.. seems to be working but its worked for awhile and crapped out before. will update if it makes it through the nite. Thanks for all the suggestions.

Bro if it powers up and you see lights coming on then it works.
You just need to set it up properly.

Just my opinion...

...
I had already cleaned it, plugged it in and mining on it even before I posted this message. That's no big deal, just that it was supposed to be new. Also it may be a sign of things to come. If they are starting to ship out their running pieces they may be running all out with no new pieces in production. That could also mean the S2 may be closer.
Actually that could even mean the S2 is already working.
If they have a farm of S1s, it wouldn't make much sense to switch any off (and ship them to customers) until they could replaced them with the new S2's

.
.
.

Though, I'd certainly expect a discount if I got a used one ...
Yes they should actually say on the site if they are selling used ones ... and they should be for cheaper ...

They are selling them cheaper everyday.

And yes it is true, they are/were using them to mine before they sold it to us.
The question is: Do we really care?
We get miners delivered to us 3 days from order.
They work exactly as advertised.

I know they have been using my miners from before, but I have them here NOW Wink

Bitcoin Miners are not like dvd players which you can have in your living room.
It is a commitment you will have to make if you want to mine.
Noise, heat and higher electricity bills.
Get used to it.

That being said, you can calm the factory fan down a bit by adding another on the other side Wink

3692  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Want to get your friends into Bitcoin? Show them this! on: March 12, 2014, 07:43:56 PM
After watching the video, I can conclude that this is insufficient to convenience an average joe to use bitcoin
You still need to explain the details of bitcoins to them and counter all the FUD the media has been making

But this video is a good comeback against "I rather believe in USD because it is backed by the government" and "its a Ponzi scheme"

This video is to show that Bitcoin is more trustworthy than fiat currency, period.
3693  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Want to get your friends into Bitcoin? Show them this! on: March 12, 2014, 07:43:06 PM
I used to recommend buying bitcoins to friends and relatives when bitcoin was in the 25 to 100 USD range, but at current prices I don't bother anymore.

That's one more of a reason to tell them:
I TOLD YOU SO!!!!
You can still get in before it goes over $1000 again Wink

Yes, although prices in the $600 are probably cheap in comparison to what we will see in a few years from now, it is still too high of an entry point for a lot of first time investors.   They may be better off getting their feet wet with LTC first...and maybe a couple BTC if they can afford.

Would you rather buy a dummy Rolex or a real one?

3694  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Announcement: Bitmain launches AntMiner solution, 0.68 J/GH on chip on: March 12, 2014, 07:41:28 PM
I just received another S1 today and this one was used big time. Lots of Chinese dust all over the PCB boards and fan blades. Should I contact them and have them replace it?
Your choice, of course, but if it works I'd say use it. You'd lose a significant amount of income by being without a unit for the 1 or 2 week turnaround, plus paying for shipping to Bitmain. You'd need to mine for many weeks to recover that, and you'd never catch up to what you could have mined by keeping it.

'chinese dust'? Why would you RMA something because it is dusty? get out the compressed air and clean it yourself in a few minutes. You can use 99% isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol and a microfiber cloth to clean the pcb if the air duster isnt enough

Probably he meant that it supposed to be brand new device. Not used one, covered with dust, they've been mining on it for months and it's life may be shorter now.
I had already cleaned it, plugged it in and mining on it even before I posted this message. That's no big deal, just that it was supposed to be new. Also it may be a sign of things to come. The S2 is expected early April from what I have heard....

bitmaintech is a scam do not buy
no costumer service
1 month to get a miner, 48 hours my ass
hope you dont get a bad miner good luck getting it fixed.
I thank sushi is on drugs and cant do his job

bitmaintech and sushi are two different sites.

bitmaintech is not a scam

Bitmain is the most straightforward Asic Miner manufacturer there is.
THEY ALWAYS DELIVER!!!

And best part is: NO PRE-ORDERS.

Whoever calls Bitmain a scammer I call them a bullshitter.

I have ordered quite a few miners from Bitmain and ALL of them arrived in excellent condition so far.

3696  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [In stock]The plan for selling and hosting 1 T Dragon miner in china on: March 12, 2014, 07:32:31 PM
The more I see new accounts posting that this is scam the more I think that it is not.

WTF?Huh??

In the end, bobsag ordered 3 units using escrow and he got them....
3697  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Announcement: Bitmain launches AntMiner solution, 0.68 J/GH on chip on: March 12, 2014, 06:58:58 PM
My fan is going full blast even when going from a cold start. How do I fix this? My other miner's fan runs much quieter.

How do I fix this? I checked the connection and it seems that all cables are properly set in the connector end (but not entirely sure). I pushed the fan cables into the connector to see if that'd help but it didn't

Please let me know! Thx

Check if the blue wire is properly connected.
If it is, don't worry about it, it could have been worse, like the fan not working AT ALL!!!  Wink
3698  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: RE:factory price for 1T28nm colorbit,new items and discount price on: March 12, 2014, 02:53:29 PM
The price is very attractive but also very suspicious. I checked the 28nm chip prices from bitmine, 40 chips itself = $2800 ~ $3500. If you sell your whole rig for $3250, I could see no profit or a loss even though you copy the design from others and spent $0 on the R&D. There must be some hidden secretes here. Caution: focusing on fact, not the promises.

From what I have gathered these miners have chips which they have acquired from the manufacturer that made the bitmine chips directly, not from bitmine.
That is why you see so many Chinese 1TH miners before Bitmine released theirs.

Simply put, the Chinese are better businessmen.

That being said, if you are planning on ordering do use escrow.
The seller is fine with that.

3699  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Antminer S1 Sales open] Price changes daily, now 0.998 BTC for 180GH/s on: March 12, 2014, 02:47:19 PM
Anyone get shipping notifications yet for orders placed on Monday?

I spoke too soon, scheduled for Friday delivery. Knowing the way UPS works in Winnipeg hopefully I will get it by Tuesday.

My Sunday order will be delivered to me tomorrow, my Monday order will be delivered to me on Friday.
Both confirmed by UPS as they called me to tell me to have the customs fees ready.

Hello,

Need some help with an antminer s1.
Just received 2 and 1 is up and running... the other... I set it up like my others and the green light shows it's hashing....but no stats. I have switched them both on at the same time... 1 has stats....other nothing.

Tried login..but get the following error:

/usr/lib/lua/luci/dispatcher.lua:448: Failed to execute function dispatcher target for entry '/'.
The called action terminated with an exception:
/usr/lib/lua/luci/sauth.lua:87: Session data invalid!

additional info:
Win 7,
ip gateway: 192.168.0.1,
ant ip: 192.168.0.94,
comp ip: 192.168.0.105
IP scanner finds the ant on 192.168.0.94

Any idea's?

Do a hard reset, then scan again for the Ants IP.
Chances are that your Ants IP has been changed since it was in a farm.

I thought that might do the trick Smiley
Many thanks, it's sorted now!

Your welcome brother,
any time Smiley
