I fixed it by Underclocking it down to 350MHz,

Does anybody know the problem i'm having?

But my first Antminer Rig was running for a couple days at 375MHz , avg temp 48... and was doing fine.

Do you think an average of 48 is okay?

I would also like to mention that i lay my antminer diagonally on a slanted shoe rack, plenty of ventilation.. Could this be trapping concentrated heat for any reason?

I guess adding the second ant has increased the ambient temp in the room, making it run hotter in there. I suppose 48 is ok, but PWM usually tries to keep it around 40, so that would be my ideal temp to go for. The temps are also not evenly distributed across the boards and the back end will be a lot hotter than the sensor measures and that's probably where the X's are coming from.

I'd also put something solid underneath the unit so that the air is directed all the way across the heatsinks and isn't lost blowing downwards through the slats, it could help a little.

Best thing is to get some extra fans to help with the cooling.

Yeah, fan speeds seem to differ on my units also, it seems to be the PWM setting because one ant keeps the boards at 40^o, while the other is around 44^o and the fan speeds adjust accordingly.

I think I read Kano mention somewhere that there is an antminer fan setting in cgminer but that it also probably doesn't work. I would think there would be a min and max temp setting and not a fan speed setting, but I'm not a cgminer adept so I'm not sure.

Do a hard reset, then scan again for the Ants IP.
Chances are that your Ants IP has been changed since it was in a farm.

I noticed that earlier you quoted the miner address as 10.0.1.75, but from the above it looks like 192.168.1.64.

You need to make sure that the address of your miner and the address of your router have the same first 3 values i.e. 192.168.1.xx or 10.0.1.xx, but the last value (xx) must be unique for each device or your miner won't be able to connect to the internet.

That's really odd, i've never made it 192.168.1.64, i've been trying either 10.0.1.75 or 192.168.1.241

Hello, Anyone have tried replacing the fan with any other which are slient than the inbuilt one?
The fan which comes with Ant is extreamly noise.
So i wonder if i can put some silent fans from coolmaster on the both sides.
All suggestion and comments are welcome.

Bitcoin Miners are not like dvd players which you can have in your living room.
It is a commitment you will have to make if you want to mine.
Noise, heat and higher electricity bills.
Get used to it.

That being said, you can calm the factory fan down a bit by adding another on the other side

The damn thing has gone completely lame. both blades dead, the led's on the wrt board are lit but the one under the rj45 connector is dead. Reset has no affect. will try swapping PSU but I fear the WRT board is shit.

You just need to set it up properly.

"Silent" fans are mostly a scam, they just spin slower and move less air. That won't keep an ant miner at the recommended temperature; they already automatically control the fan speed.

The best things you do reduce noise are:

1. Relocate the miner where you can't hear it.
2. Reduce ambient temperature.
