3681  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are people giving up on Bitcoin too quickly? on: October 25, 2020, 11:24:42 AM
what you said is true, I also gave up last year because I saw the price of bitcoin that continued to fall. after seeing the price of bitcoin now starting to rise again, I was optimistic that bitcoin would surpass ATH. i will buy bitcoin and HODL.

i know nothing about speculation things but as far i know Hodl is the key  Grin i buy some altcoin back in the days and try to sell high (basic trading) and 4 month or so the price of the coin like rainfall im not giving up or try to cut loss and boom i got the profit
3682  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Trezor saved my after robbery on: October 25, 2020, 11:19:11 AM
Trezor under the bed? That's one of the first place criminals look when flipping through a house - they're looking for money, drugs or guns. Guess the criminals didn't know what the hardware wallet was. You got lucky. You could have printed your public and private keys in 20 point font on paper and plastered your walls with it and still been safe Tongue

I have a Nano Blue but took all the funds off of it. It was too cumbersome to interface with. Paper wallets divided around the neighborhood/world works better for me, but it's good to hear the wallet did its job.

Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin printed your public and private keys in 20 point font on paper and plastered your walls with it and still been safe  kinda true  Grin i mean i doit for myself i write on used paper and just put right on my desk and no one know that was moeny on paper

3684  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why do people avoid bitcoin? on: October 24, 2020, 12:06:58 PM
I do notice that some people naturally don’t allow bitcoin in any of their daily transactions even when it faster and easier, they still don’t prefer using it, I have noticed this a lot, Some classes of human,Sometimes when they are to receive money from another country like international transfer sometimes it takes 2 3 days to arrive,They will advise them to use bitcoin and they still don’t accept it even it faster and easier. Now how come we make bitcoin come to people.
i mean maybe some people scare of bitcoin cause of some bad news about drug or weapon and darkweb things that lot of going on right now  Grin and not know much about bitcoin hehe

First, They must have their own reasons not to use Bitcoin or any transactions paid by Bitcoin. Digital crypto is not their choice. They prefer using cash to paying online.

Second thing to say that not everyone easily approaches new technology. They feel lazy to let their mind work again especially the old generation. Bitcoin is totally new to them. Understanding how Bitcoin function is a long process and doing research about it will take a large amount of time.

The ultimate reason: In some countries, the governments don't allow to use Bitcoin in any case. They are afraid of criminals using Bitcoin for illegal activities.

and this is kind a true some county doesn't allow bitcoin at all and lot of regulation if the accept bitcoin tho

and i added bitcoin and other crypto is pay the fee when they do transaction its different with paypal and other digital wallet
3685  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I can't wait until I can pay using bitcoin at the supermarket on: October 24, 2020, 11:54:39 AM
Just a feeling I have. It's all credit cards and dollars and shit.

Yeah, I'd rather spend the shit money and save my bitcoins, but I can't wait until I can use real money everywhere. I'd rather get paid in bitcoin and spend bitcoin.

Pumped after Paypal announce their will store bitcoin its clearly all the merchant and marketplace that accept paypal as their payment will start to accept bitcoin and i can wait site like Ebay and Amazon accept cryptocurrency as well
3686  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why criminals still use Bitcoin? on: October 24, 2020, 11:51:26 AM
In addition to the good function of anonymous bitcoin when transacting and making our privacy safe from people who want to know our funds, but in other places it is very profitable for criminals because it can eliminate their tracks when making transactions such as buying drugs or weapons which are strictly prohibited by the government country. Maybe that's the negative side of bitcoin that criminals can take advantage of.

Yes Sure, remember back in the days dark marketplace like silk road using crypto as primary payment and a lot of things happen after that like big exchange got hacked and some hacker still free and + with bitcoin mixer so more hardly to tracked the bitcoin transaction
3687  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin broke $13k today on: October 24, 2020, 11:44:47 AM
I was playing around with CoinMarketCap’s data earlier today, to see how many times (days) a certain threshold had been surpassed, with disregards to the supporting reasons and trends.

I make it as follows:
Code:
Year      10k     10,5k   11k     11,5k   12k     12,5k   13k     13,5k   14k     14,5k   15k
2020      100     82      57      39      8       1       1       0       0       0       0
2019      86      54      34      24      12      4       3       1       0       0       0
2018      53      46      43      33      20      18      17      16      15      12      9
2017      34      33      32      30      27      26      26      26      26      24      21
- Data as of yesterday, in USD, based on whether the High value equaled or surpassed the threshold value.
- Columns represent the threshold to surpass, rows the year, inner cells the number of days on which the threshold was surpassed.

Too early to tell.

Nice Graph and yes still need to wait and don't panic sell i think in this point we should buy more bitcoin and sell it at 13.5 K or we can sell it on 15 K  Grin and no money no party
3688  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Paxos will be holding your PayPal's Bitcoin on: October 23, 2020, 12:22:26 PM
Exchanges are susceptible to hack, Paxos even if not yet hacked before does not mean it can not be hacked. Even, I can not make use of PayPal why talking abkut using cryptocurrencies as a payment method, bitcoin and altcoin payment have been easy for me since I started knowing about crypto generally. If it is not my key, it is not my coin is the say. Exchanges can be hacked at any time, while Paxos is an exchange. I will advice people to have this at the back of their mind and never forgotten it, custodial services will only make your coins less safe.

and another paypal news but i don't know if paypal backed by paxos  Grin
and yes no system is safe back in the days there a lot big exchanges got hacked and u still need cold wallet to save ur funds
3689  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think this is the start of mass adoption in Bitcoin? or Nah? on: October 23, 2020, 12:16:01 PM
The answer is obvious and it s yes, bitcoin will be more accepted and be used by people, people trust PayPal. But, people will be ignorant of the fact that PayPal is just a third party, some people will not know about private key at all, which is still the continuation of centralization. But the main aim of bitcoin creator was to make a currency that will be fully decentralized but this is being compromised by the centralized world. But, people that know about bitcoin very well and have expert view about it will still be able to use bitcoin in a decentralized form but while many people are not bother, in one way or the other, people that are not bother are susceptible to scammers and hacks, although, it can be indirectly.

wow paypal news is spreading everywhere but i agree with this guys most people not know about private key and as i know company like paypal will get in trouble if someday if turned into scam
3690  Other / Archival / Re: Why you should not use Paypal for Bitcoin on: October 23, 2020, 12:01:17 PM
It is an awful idea to use PayPal to store our bitcoins because they sometimes randomly suspend users' accounts without any warning and notification. PayPal is a custodial wallet that we don't have any financial freedom with our assets or bitcoins because they don't let us keep our private keys, so they are full control over our funds.
Yeah, maybe people who already use crypto will not use Paypal to store our bitcoin because that will not be comfortable. They will prefer to send the bitcoin in their Paypal into their private wallet to take control of their bitcoin. That will better to do that than to let Paypal handle storing the bitcoin in the user account.

But I think Paypal will do something related to the new update on their website, so we can hope that Paypal will know that people who use crypto needs more privacy to store their coins in their account.

But if we think that we don't want to use Paypal, we don't have to use it, and we can use the existing wallet or other markets to buy bitcoin. It is a new thing for us which Paypal finally integrated their system to the blockchain technology, and I am sure there will be more updates from Paypal. At least, the Paypal news can spread the cryptocurrency among their members, and making the crypto grow more and become globally.

Yes indeed total agree with this for fund it still safe if we store in cold wallet using hardware like trezor or something and yes paypal till know suspend user with no clear reason, but the good things is that will atract people join crypto industry and a lot marketplace using paypal as payment thats make us do alot of thing now  Grin
3691  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will bitcoin co-exist with the current financial system on: October 21, 2020, 10:00:00 AM
Will bitcoin exist with the current financial system?
What do you mean by that? Bitcoin was created, has been used and will exist because the current financial system is broken. Bitcoin is an attempt to create a completely independent financial system, a system that governments cannot control. Although they can fight it and try to regulate it. For such financial system to succeed and replace the current one, it first needs to survive in battle with the states and central banks. They should be deprived of the ability and power of control money supply and money issuance. It is not going to happen any time soon, but still bitcoin nowadays can and should be used by people completely isolated from financial system, it is for them, after all, bitcoin was born.

Total True and i also i live in development country regulation about bitcoin in here is not to tight and also are you heard the news recently that bank is racing to adopt blockchain technology and i think slow but sure people gonna use crypto as secondary payment after digital wallet  because so many things going on on crypto industry from stable coin, stable gold and recently about Decentralized Finance
3692  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BitCoin and bitcoin high transaction fees on: October 21, 2020, 09:54:27 AM
There's so many platform out there and will be more, digital wallet nowadays become more popular specially on gen X like me  Cheesy when you transfer from your digital wallet to merchant mostly merchant pay the fees and your data remain on bank its different on crypto side your data remain save till  a whole network die and also guy that i qoute is true

Can you transfer this money to the United States as well?
Is Indian currency acceptable in the US or other countries?
So bitcoin is a common thing between countries and individuals.
And it is easily converted into dollars, dirhams, etc. in online exchanges.
And the best way to transfer large amounts of bitcoin is to avoid a lot of taxes.
This is the king feature of digital currencies. Cool
3693  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Google news is spreading FUD on: October 21, 2020, 09:44:41 AM
Let me guess, you're referring to this article? https://cointelegraph.com/news/old-hands-selling-out-metric-shows-bitcoin-price-at-risk-of-hodlers-dumping

Then I'm not sure why you're really blaming Google here. It's not like they're the one who wrote the article, or something like them "sPrEaDiNg fUd To DeStRoY BitCorN". Because surprise surprise, articles like these are the ones that actually gets a lot of clicks, so it's partly our fault as readers.

In summary:

  • Negative news: FUD
  • Positive news: MOON

Grin Grin Grin i like the words "surprise surprise, articles like these are the ones that actually gets a lot of clicks, so it's partly our fault as readers." and yeah we can't blame the google because the news not actually from the google, google just crawling the data and make visible on the internet
3694  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Mixer Penalized by FinCEN for Violating AML Law on: October 21, 2020, 09:36:38 AM
This is why you should never run a mixer in the US, or any bitcoin trading service for that matter. They equate trading bitcoin with "money transmitting without a license", such licenses and permits are impossible for a normal person to get because they still think that bitcoin needs the same laws as banking because they can't physically see bitcoin like you can see cash.

Governments have never liked privacy post-2001 anyway.
Yep i mean any government mostly doesn't like about privacy with reason to "protect the citizen" against crime, and before this i heard the news about https://www.zdnet.com/article/money-from-bank-hacks-rarely-gets-laundered-through-cryptocurrencies/
3695  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: We don't do it in Bitcoin! on: October 21, 2020, 09:25:06 AM
Lol, I just saw this news yesterday.

I wonder how the heck did he smuggle those neavy gold bars in his ass without looking like he just took the biggest shit in his life?

Ewww Crazy look at those gold bar and yep i think its disgusting if i were the smuggler i try to sell the gold with cash and exchange it to bitcoin or just wire transfer it via western union  Grin or carry the cash its more simple right hahah
3696  Economy / Speculation / Re: Are we back to the bull market? on: October 21, 2020, 09:20:14 AM
Bitcoin does really good right now as I checked the current market which is up to 12K USD already. This is not really bad and I am having a good vibe that we are heading towards bull run. If so then I think it is better to invest now and possibly earn in the future or in the bull run. I think it is also better to pick altcoins that has not been moving yet for it can move whenever bitcoin wi going to have a bull run. This would be my first time to anticipate seeing bull run for bitcoin since I was not here when bitcoin reach ATH on 2017.
Total Agree with this guy , and i also im not here when bitcoin reach new ATH on 2017  Grin Grin but i hope at the end of this year bitcoin reach new ATH and invest now in coin like Idena that i wear on my signature is good choice its stable and have good concept in near future Smiley
