Well bitcointalk is not the only forum about bitcoin.
The blockchain is unique, this forum is not.
That's why there is divergence

i agree...

but there are other forum with at least 400.000 users???
i think no...
and i think the sum all other forums do not reach this number!
but if there are somebody who can post all bitcoin forum ranked by users will be appreciated!!!

I think it is about active users. There are no 400.000 active users on this forum if 400.000 is the total value.
Also, this forum was the only place to get your information. Now you can find more places.
Youtube, twitter, google, etc.

do you know other forums who talk about bitcoin and have stats???

i found the way to get some little statistics by reddit..

http://www.reddit.com/r/bitcoin/about/traffic

this are not global statistics but just for bitcoin subdir....
so it could be intended like a subset of bitcointalk data...

but if you look at the chart below, the behaviour it is the same of bitcointalk...

Number of transactions doesn't tell us everything. It could be misleading if someone was transferring funds between his own accounts

sure!

but he/she will pay anyway transaction fee!!!
remember.
transaction fee are for miners remunerate for sure...
but they are where they are,
to secure network from spamming transaction too

Good work getting site back up.

I still prefer the old magnetic drives. I know they are slower, but they don't have all this cell wear problem. Also extra precautions need to be taken with SSDs if using as an encrypted drive, such as not using the TRIM command.

That's what backups are for. If you don't have backups then you probably don't really care about that data anyway. Platter drives have their place, so do SSDs.

sure!!!

raid conf > 0, and RAID 1+0 too, is not to backup replace!!!

you need always to backup your data.

especially when it is possible to do hot backup like over DB.

I will, but it's unacceptable to act that way. If you don't understand something, kindly explain what you don't understand, I'll more than happily assist.

This community is nothing but helpful, I tried pointing the guide out gently Smiley it is very easy to understand with basic computer knowledge.

mine burstcoin it is much more easy to mine a lot of GPU/ASIC coins algo!!!

and this for sure!!!!

you install wallet/passphrase
then you plot files
then you mine files plotted..

that's all!!!

You forgot the part where you need to buy a shit ton of HDD's to mine any decent amount now =P

i hope they already have it!!!
maybe not a ton!!!
at least a dozen of libbre!!!
3706  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Some charting analisys around Bitcoin on: January 23, 2015, 11:08:43 AM
The transaction number can easily be manipulated higher by someone sending to themselves. Most likely to make people think BTC is being adopted more then it is and hoping to get the price up. Doesn't seem to be working.
There's also the idiots spamming the blockchain. Anyone remembers that Laxo Trade 0.000001 BTC shit?

i think it is not possible...
the chart talk about confirmed transaction!

if you put low transaction fee...
the transaction aren't taken by miners,
and remain unconfirmed for 48/78H....
then, after this lapse of time, the transaction will be deleted and the tx amount come back to the original address...

Wallet 1.2.1 on: January 23, 2015, 10:59:02 AM

3709  Other / Archival / Re: delete on: January 23, 2015, 07:17:16 AM
A failed disk is better than a DoS attack or hacked forum, so I'm glad.

Good to see a recent backup recovered with very little loss of data.

This coul not be true.
Really too strange for a server environment.
I dont think bitcointalk run on commodore 64!!

Hope some detais come out.

I think new members is the one to gauge for true sentiment. It looks like both new members and bitcoin searches on Google are bottoming out which to me suggests this price range is an organic one Tongue

can you tell me you to get the "bitCoin goole search" stat month by month,
so i can add to chart?

thanks...

Maybe but there is still a cost to do that.

i agree the cost to do this could be higest than re return!!!

expeciallt now with bitcoin price that stuck on 200$/210$

the only 2 thing my friend see all the time:

the deadline for your nonce is too long
you need more plot files

thats it.

of what i have see until now that burst thing its only for people who know really what and how to do. i own 80tb and my friend use that but for now i think its better to close the mining until people can explain really how to plot the good way ect ect.

While I do not know whether there is, or what is the deadline length limit on the pool, it never hurts to have more space Tongue

I do agree we need a better guide or a gui to set it all up, however for now crowetic's guide will have to suffice
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1ytq47AmQZ1rzjoFuMW33c82JkuJ1L61Pdp95ZLbi3-k/edit?pli=1
it is not half bad.

Actually, I don't want this guy on my pool, at all, someone who immediately ATTACKS me, when the pool is in OPEN BETA, saying some dumb shit about 1TB and 50 BURST a day, when the pool is JUST STARTING barely has any miners on it yet, and is still in fuckin OPEN BETA.... needs to just go away, go buy an ASIC and plug it in, let it run, burst is obviously too much for your little brain.

Honestly, if you would have come at this a little bit nicer, maybe I would have helped you to set everything up and make sure you're plotted right, and start making some real cash. But now, there's no way that I will ever help you unless you make a serious apology to me that I deem heartfelt.

It's utterly ridiculous for someone to act this way when they both don't understand what they're doing, and are completely new at something. IF you EVER want to be successful in life, I highly suggest that you re-think the way you approach situations, because if you do things like you did here, you're gonna have a miserable existence.

Feel free to apologize to me, and I'll think about helping you mine. Also feel free to leave the burst community entirely, we really don't need people like you. BURST will succeed without the addition of assholes into the community. Plus, we've already got our own jerks, but they're ones we like. You, not so much.

I am one of the biggest players in the community, I've given away hundreds of thousands of BURST, and given a lot of my time, effort, and cash to make sure BURST becomes the coin that we all know it could be. I am also one of the nicest people you could meet, if you don't immediately come at me with curse words and tell me my pool sucks and to fuck off. That's really not the best way to get me to be nice to you.

But anyway, I'll stop here, but yea, apologize, leave the community, or find another pool and go to it. Because I won't tolerate people with attitudes like yours.

Have a great day! Wink

i think you are not italian... and i think you have never studied Dante and Divina Commedia...
but i can tell you
"non ti curar di loro ma guarda e passa"

i hope this is the correct translation

"Don't care about them, but look-on and pass."

hi guys!
recently i discovered this page on bitcoin talk

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=stats.

at the bottom, i can see a nice bitcointalk stats...

so i normalize all the data series reporting values from 0 to 100.
i use this formula

valueNorm=(value-MIN(series))/(MAX(series)-MIN(series))*100

then i add the normalized value for bitcoin price and total transaction number.
i get data series from https://www.quandl.com/c/markets/bitcoin-data

how we can see all series are falling down following bitcoin value.
seems really a negative situation...
but one serie is positive..

if you look at Num transaction you can see they are at the max of the series...

how do you explain this???

maybe, luckly, this parameter gives us hope for a future bitcoin prices reverse

and i add... i hope ASAP!!!

Wallet 1.1.5 on: January 20, 2015, 06:42:44 PM
c'è la nuova versione del wallet???

sì..
1.2.1...
già installata...
tutto ok...

On a more serious note, I think a good approach would be to talk to storage manufacturers about accepting Burst Smiley

Seagate, WD and the like Smiley

this could be interesting...
but i want to know..

nobody is working to reach this???

We in the PR core team are already working on this, have already sent letters to the manufacturers, etc.

this is really a good news for burst ecosistem...

why PR team do not open an proper thread and all update will be write there?

thank to PR team for all the work!
