3701  Economy / Economics / Re: If you can get paid through cryptocurrency, do you still choose fiat currency? on: August 19, 2021, 11:03:57 AM
Many companies are also considering allowing their employees to choose to receive partial or full compensation in the form of cryptocurrency. If you can get paid through cryptocurrency, which one would you choose?

If i work in a company, and they offer to pay me in the form of cryptocurrency, i'll love the idea but will also accept to receive a fraction or percentage in traditional fiat currency especially if the company salary is my sole source of income. My reason being that i like to consider any money that enters into my cryptocurrency account as an investment and a last resort and will not want to develop the habit of always selling my coins to get fiat that will result if i permit the whole payment in cryptocurrency.
3702  Economy / Economics / Re: Warning against CBDC from bank of Ghana on: August 19, 2021, 04:14:26 AM

In my opinion having a digital coin created and controlled by the central bank is no good than using fiat currency...

The people in government know what to do sometimes, but they just avoid doing it sometimes by hiding behind the act of them trying to do something. It is all a charade.

They know cryptocurrency takes the power out of their hands, so they don't like the idea, so they try to bring their own digital currency...but because information is free, we all know that it is not acceptable so far as it remains centralized and them in control.

3703  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Man lost £20,000 in one night after becoming addicted to online gambling! on: August 19, 2021, 03:42:28 AM
... I think people know the risks yet they still try.

People know the risk and still try because it is called gambling and they are well aware that it is a game of chance which they have misinterpreted to call luck, and they always tend to believe that are lucky and whenever they are feeling lucky, they always want to play and try out their luck as well.

Also, just like other vices legal and illegal, people are well aware of the negative effects even before they try or start it. As a matter of fact, they have accepted it, so they don't care.

Others just like to hide behind the saying "No risk, No reward".

3704  Economy / Economics / Re: Would you be able to take an additional work if required? on: August 19, 2021, 02:55:45 AM

What is the situation in your country and for yourself? Would you be able to land additional work for example working with crypto, selling stuff on-line, youtubing or something else?

In my country, it is not advisable to completely depend on earnings from one job because there are price control body here or the one we have is no longer functioning, so you can see the prices of commodities in the market or the price of services changing very quickly and abnormally.

So if you don't seek out ways to diversify and increase your income, you might soon find out that your income is not enough to support your ever increasing expenditure, and the government here is not helping issues.

You can take additional work, or start a side hustle, whichever one it is, you just have to ensure that it doesn't take up completely your free time and disrupt your peace.
3705  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin solving the problem of intermediary on: August 19, 2021, 02:33:29 AM
Bitcoin and cryptocurrency has really been beneficial in eliminating some of the problems we face when making transactions through an intermediary (the bank).

I once had to go buy some materials i use for work from a supplier, i moved money from one of my bank account with money to another that  had nothing, i did so because at that point in time, that was the only bank account i had with a functional ATM Card. Having done this, i set out to my suppliers place which was like an hour away from my residence. On getting there, i noticed that the transaction i did some hours ago had not been posted probably my the staffs of the bank maybe because of their workload or something... I waited for over 4 , hours at my suppliers office hoping to receive the money i sent to myself, but didn't. It was Getting late, and i had to return home...at the mid of the night that day, i received the money, but i was already angry because i had wasted my time and money i used in transporting myself there.

Since i switched to payment in cryptocurrency, transaction with my supplier has been hitch free because he is crypto conscious. So whenever i make a crypto deposit to his wallet address, it reflects within minutes and the problem of waiting for a lazy or overworked bank staff to post money from one account to another has been eliminated.
3706  Economy / Economics / Cryptocurrency and entertainment. on: August 18, 2021, 03:40:03 PM
In the entertainment industry, entertainers need the news to trend and remain in vogue. Be it a good news or a bad news, it puts their names up on blog post, newspaper headlines and most importantly in the mouth of people. We can deduce from this that Entertainers need the news to stay valid and in vogue and without trying to constantly be in the news be it for a good or bad reason, they can fade away and people quickly forget.

(Replace "entertainment" with "cryptocurrency")

In the cryptocurrency industry, cryptocurrencies need the news to trend and remain in vogue. Be it a good news or a bad news, it puts their names up on blog post, newspaper headlines and most importantly in the mouth of people. We can deduce from this that cryptocurrency need the news to stay valid and in vogue and without trying to constantly be in the news be it for a good or bad reason, they can fade away and people quickly forget.

Been thinking - What do you think is the biggest news cryptocurrency needs that will increase its popularity?

3707  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What lie did you tell? on: August 18, 2021, 05:27:36 AM
On that faithful day I got attracted by the crowd and I felt it was too easy to play after watching the board man shuffle series of games I was able to spot the match box without staking and at that point it appeared too simple. I had to stake $4 for a start and I won $8 I was so amazed at how easy this game was and I had to stake the entire Fiats currency in my pockets which was about $45 and ended up losing everything. I became confused all I could figure out is the lies I will tell my parents on how armmed rubbers met on my way and took away the fiat meant to buy foodstuffs.

The people you met were all criminals trying to make a dubious Living by preying on the innocence of bystanders and taking advantage of your greed. There is a popular saying -"the more you look, the less you see'' and that is exactly what you fell a victim for.

I have been a victim of this type of cheap gambling scam before just to discover on observation that most of the people standing around such places all know themselves and act like they do not. ( They are all members of the same dubious criminal gang) putting up an act, hoping to entice innocent individuals to come play with their fiat.

Don't beat yourself so much, that was your first experience to the street and street gambling and such experiences are meant to make you smarter and street conscious, so truthfully you met robbers, just that were not armed.
3708  Economy / Trading Discussion / How many consecutive looses can you handle in trading? on: August 16, 2021, 08:31:41 PM
It is popular opinion sometimes that a trading strategy might no longer be effective if one begins to loose money while trading instead of gaining.

An important question i ask myself whenever i hear about people complaining or simply discussing a series of consecutive looses they have made while trading using a certain strategy is;

HOW MANY CONSECUTIVE LOOSES IN TRADING CAN YOU HANDLE BEFORE YOU ACCEPT THAT YOUR CURRENT TRADING STRATEGY IS BECOMING LESS EFFECTIVE?

3709  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Daytrading vs Holding on: August 16, 2021, 08:08:30 PM
Okay so people keep saying holding is more important...

I'd say they are both important, it just depends on how you look at it.

If it's possible for you that is if you can do the both (day trade some percent of your holding) and you are confident enough in your skills that you can get good results from day trading, it is the best thing to do.

But if you are not confident and still an early trader, please BUY & HODL.
3710  Economy / Economics / Re: FOLLOW THIS RULES TO BECOME RICH on: August 16, 2021, 03:46:37 AM
I have seen several books and rules on how to get rich propagated by individuals who are not so rich themselves but sometimes are dependent on the money they will get from the sales of such books. I do not believe in such rules and do not waste my time in reading such. There is no assurance that even after going through such rules that one will become rich.

I believe the number one and most basic rule of becoming rich is to work hard, pray & focus on what you do while finding a way to do it better,
3711  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: August 16, 2021, 02:01:52 AM
It's a very impressive start to the season for Dortmund and  most impressive  start for Erling Haaland scoring two goals and creating chances for his teammates. He definitely deserves the man of the match that he got, i hope he can maintain performance all season long.

Bayern Munich could have done better, but its better they drew the game and secured a point at least than a complete loss, the team has a lot of quality and i am certain that they will pick up momentum and improve performance in their next game.

For the legend Gerd Muller, i pray his soul rests in peace.
3712  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: {Boxing} Manny Pacquiao vs Yordenis Ugas on: August 16, 2021, 01:29:26 AM
Manny Pacquiao is my favourite for this fight, from all statistics he is the favourite to win this particular fight plus adding that this may be his last career fight, he will want to put in his best to ensure that the end of his career is spectacular.

Yordenis Ugas on the other hand is a great fighter but i am not certain that he is as experienced as Mr Pacquiao. A win for him will add some spice to his career however i don't think he can overcome the Pacman.
3713  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Economic Costs of Gambling on: August 15, 2021, 07:25:36 PM
Why is it that the negatives were only stated? Gambling is a big contributor a country's economy, think about Las Vegas, Macau and other countries that have been opened and known to be the gambling capitals. It is one of the main reasons why they've opened it because it generates money that's helping the economy of their country and local which had brought jobs and taxes. As a gambler, those things are very common and we know that negative effects will occur if we're not careful and if we cannot control ourselves as we gamble.

People often attach negative sentiments when the word gambling is mentioned, because gambling can become addictive, it is what is most feared and is what is considered bad.

As much as gambling is feared, there are also some positive economical benefits to it just as you mentioned,  and some states do not consider it to be illegal because apart from the tax revenue benefit to the state and the creation of jobs for individuals, it also boost local retail sales as some of these casinos have lounges and restaurants as well as rooms that tourist or visitors can patronise.

So if visitors decide to sideline external outlets like the restaurant, hotels and lounges that are in the city to visit a casino, they still spend the equivalent amount in patronising in house facilities like these restaurants, lounges and rooms that these casino's have thus, local retail sales is sustained.
3714  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What does it take for a game to "hook" people on: August 15, 2021, 06:10:45 PM
I am asking this because I do have some short of an answer for videogames and for massive multiplayer games and even for social network oriented games. Videogames require a great design, good difficulty grading, an story that engages the user, massive multiplayer and network oriented are a lot about the interactions and how varied and fun these are. However, for casino games, it would seem that these factors are not really the most important ones. You can see games with very basic graphics and design, simple in the options for the player and not that engaging yet they do "hook" people in them.
What do these games have to have for you?

We were all created differently and like different things, sometimes we like things or get hooked to things based on the feeling they create or give us whenever we engage in them. That's why most times, you see an individual claiming to like something for reasons unknown to them or for not reasons not too substantial.

Some like the simplest of things or games, while others like others that are more complex, it is all a matter of feeling created that makes the difference. Some choose video games, some others the most basic casino games, while others may prefer online games. We were all created in manner that there are always people to satisfy and fill in different options, this is the spice of life, variety.
3715  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Always gamble with sense on: August 15, 2021, 05:35:26 PM

Sport bets results are never regulated/determined by gambling sites but I still see individual gamblers making quite a huge losses in sport gambling which I believe it's abnormal to me and there is need to have a rethink after much losses.

Could this be normal for one to be having consistent losses in sport betting when result is not even determined by betting platforms?

I don't completely understand what you mean by gambling with sense, but it is a normal gambling mentality that the win comes after several or consecutive losses. That's why you see a gambler repeatedly placing a bet because his expectation is that one day soon he will get a huge win that will cover or account for his losses.

Rarely will you see an individual who has not experienced a loss in gambling or one who has had more wins than losses in gambling. It is  normal for one to experience losses consecutively. What is expected of such an individual is that if he has had a really long run of loosing, he should take a pause to reconsider his strategy.
3716  Other / Archival / Re: [LIST] The Introduction of Bitcoin Into the Global Economy on: August 15, 2021, 03:01:40 PM

I don't think I'd be wrong to say the pandemic has had a lot to play in Bitcoins adoption in the last one year, I'm not saying it has been the sole factor, but the fall of traditional economies, inflation, plus government policies that society is still feeling the brunt of, and then the fact that Bitcoin was to a large extent unaffected by the pandemic and all, has allured quite a lot of people to the Bitcoin network, increasing their believe in the network as a possible "safe haven" (though it may not be there yet), and a hedge to devaluing fiat currencies.

I agree with you. Despite the crashing economies, people’s perception towards bitcoin changed and this drove the value of bitcoin in 2020 up even as the pandemic ravaged the world. Big companies started to accept payments in Bitcoin and even some workers agreed to start receiving a portion of their income in bitcoin. More online casinos also added bitcoin as an option for new members when signing up. The pandemic changed everything. Soon it will be mainstream.
3717  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The risks of using Bitcoin on: August 15, 2021, 02:57:20 PM
There are five risks in the use of Bitcoin:

I think there are more than five risks involved with using bitcoin, there is also the "risk of the unknown" - imagine the possibility of a disaster that took down technology, electrical grids and the internet world wide, there’d be no way to access your bitcoin?

Also, there is the risk of investment-
Investing in bitcoin is the greatest risk of all because unlike the futures markets traded on the exchanges, disputes can be easily resolved because they are regulated. However, the reverse is the case when you enter the world of cryptocurrencies. It is both unregulated and decentralized. Anything can happen both gain and loss.

In all, one has to make up his or her mind to accept the risk involved, because without risks there are no rewards.
3718  Economy / Economics / Re: "Crypto is no longer in the early adoption stage" on: August 15, 2021, 07:57:39 AM

“I think we’re already past the stage of crypto early adoption,” Stonberg told Cointelegraph adding:
“Crypto has now gone mainstream. We have double-digit percentage adoption in both developed and developing countries. We even have Bitcoin adopted as legal tender in a country and many other countries are considering adopting Bitcoin as legal tender.”

For me and my observation, i think we are still in the earliest stage of bitcoin adoption. Most people still have no idea what BTC is. My neighbors and coworkers don’t own any bitcoin. Folks are investing huge amount of cash into bitcoin not because they are adopting it but because they see it as a get-rich scheme. They want to cash out when there is a price increase. Some are just curious and have never tried it.
3719  Other / Off-topic / Re: Is it possible for a football club to move from one football league to another on: August 15, 2021, 06:12:29 AM

I saw a rumored story about Real Madrid wanting to join the English Premier League, I do not know if this is true but is such a move even possible In the first  place ?

In my opinion, i do not think that there is any possibility of this happening, that is like Spanish team or a team from another region joining a football league in another region as most leagues like the English premier League have certain rules and regulations that govern its participants.

One of such regulations is that only teams from England and the Wales are permitted to participate in the English premier League.

3720  Economy / Economics / Re: Can blockchain replace the traditional banking system? on: August 14, 2021, 05:25:58 PM

Blockchain and cryptocurrency are integrated into all walks of life to solve traditional solutions with safer and more efficient technologies. Although it is well known that it cannot replace cash, it may have the opportunity to replace or cooperate with traditional banking systems. Blockchain as an important innovation field of financial technology, can it replace the traditional banking system in the future?

Blockchain is not going to replace traditional banking rather they’ll coexist in the future. In theory is makes sense but it is not pragmatic. Think about it for a second. If blockchain supposedly replaces traditional banking, it means that all cash would “disappear” and world would use crypto all of the time for everything which as not possible.
