You can only control something as long as its power/knowledge are much weaker than yours. Previously 99% of the people have zero knowledge about money and currency, thus those who know how money works can control the society. But since the financial crisis, people's knowledge about fiat money and the whole banking system are improving day by day, eventually they will wise up and become more and more difficult to control

20 years ago, if you grab a person on the street and ask them where is the money in their wallet originally come from, 99% of them have no idea. Today it is not very different, but some of the people are starting to see the truth

Very truth jonhyj, I hope 2014 will be the year we can break free of the banks, even if this mean my easy life will become a whole less easy.

3725  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [POLL] Cryptsy SXC/BTC Pair on: December 27, 2013, 12:23:03 PM
However, I am very glad you have mentioned to eveyone in this threat about the sxc/btc pair on coinex.pw and therefore i will send you a donation.

To make it a bit more interesting, I will higher the reward to 250 SXC, so here is the question again:

On which exchange wil the 2nd sxc/btc pair be listed?

Hello Anonylz,

I received the coins in my wallet. Thanks a lot.

2nd SXC/BTC pair to be listed? I think it will be coins-e.

This is the correct answer! Your sexcoins have been send to your address. For everyone who currently does not have a coins-e.com account, if you register with this link https://www.coins-e.com/?ref=5823818887069696 you make me a happy person:)

I voted no, because i want to buy them cheap Smiley I'm scared btc market will give a lot of exposure and i dont want the price to rise:P

By the way the correct answer is still not here so here is a hint: There has been a recent post on the sexcoin forum where the correct answer is mentioned

you voted no, but actually you want sxc/btc pair Smiley

is it coinex.pw?

Edit: coinex.pw has already sxc/btc pair Smiley whether you like it or not Smiley I'm I the winner?

Hi Coiner,

You are not the winner of this contest, because the question was, where is SXC/BTC going to be listed. At the time I asked the question sxc was already listed at coinex.pw and we are very happy there will be a new listing coming up, in order for the sxc trade to be more reliable.

However, I am very glad you have mentioned to eveyone in this threat about the sxc/btc pair on coinex.pw and therefore i will send you a donation.

To make it a bit more interesting, I will higher the reward to 250 SXC, so here is the question again:

Thanks for the comments! Still hoping to get some insights from the 'No' voters if possible?
Have you talked to Vern at Cryptsy about it? I tried to PM him but haven't gotten a response yet.

Getting into the LTC market was a mammoth task, ideally we can get some more yes votes to put some weight behind it before we approach them again.

Just refer to the high trading volume of SXC/LTC. And on some days the trading volume of SXC/LTC (LTC Market) was way higher than other markets.

Besides, a lot of people have first to buy Bitcoins, then convert them to LTC and buy with them SXC. So if SXC/BTC market will be opened, I'm sure Vern will be happy with the trading volume achieved.

The votes are very clear. And those "No" votes must be from other alt coin competitor or owner who are afraid of the power SXC Smiley

I voted no, because i want to buy them cheap Smiley I'm scared btc market will give a lot of exposure and i dont want the price to rise:P

By the way the correct answer is still not here so here is a hint: There has been a recent post on the sexcoin forum where the correct answer is mentioned
3728  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why IOC is better than IXC, BTC, NMC, LTC on: December 23, 2013, 09:36:50 AM
Low inflation means i0coin should hold its value better long term.  Is that the idea?

it's about i0 coin being one of the oldest alts around and so far one of the only coins of which all coins have been mined (allmost).
3729  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why Novacoin is more valuable than PPCoin ? on: December 23, 2013, 09:09:35 AM
it looks normal when NVC more valuable as LTC but i think PPC is better than NVC as it uses SHA which is less power consumer ..

Is SHA really a lower power consumer than scrypt?  I guess per hash it is, but there seems to be a lot more network power going into SHA than scrypt... i.e. Bitcoin.

No but PoS uses less power then PoW. The only problem for me is that it generates coins based on a interest model. When I got into Bitcoin, I was so happy this coin is generated without interest, but ppc unfortunately does use interest, generating coins if you hold a lot of coins (this is my understanding of PoS) I do not like interest and that's why I do not own any PoS coins like ppc nvc or cgb.
3730  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Alternate cryptocurrencies, Is it time for subforums? Poll on: December 23, 2013, 09:03:05 AM
I think all alternative coins have their own forum, just keep all alts in 1 section, this is bitcointalk, not altcointalk

3736  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Living wage and Bitcoin on: November 30, 2013, 05:03:02 AM
120,000 Swiss signed a petition to hold a referendum on implementing a living wage in Switzerland.

http://rt.com/news/swiss-adult-minimum-wage-794/

What I'm extremely interested in, is where does Bitcoin help with living wage and other progressive schemes in a society moving towards a post-scarcity economy?

I'm also interested in how Bitcoins could be used to help build local co-operatives of people: imagine a neighbourhood with people of various skillsets and resources. How can Bitcoin, 3D printing and other breakthrough technologies improve the social economy?

Anyone have any thoughts on this?

since I came in contact with bitcoin, i have developped a kind of lets system for my region. If you check it out let me know what you think, I like feedback!

3739  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why the Winklevoss ETF will send Bitcoin to the moon. on: November 24, 2013, 01:45:23 AM
there is no advantage to holding shares vs holding btc, is there? Huh

Exactly. So why bother is my question in a nutshell.

Because you have 50million dollars and its hard to get that down at MtGox.

And older folks rather not take the risk of losing their private key and maintaining security of their funds. If shares is the same as owning actual, its a nice incentive for them to hand over the risks to the ETF.

A ETF (exchange Traded Fund) is not the same as holding Bitcoin. Like a gold ETF it is meant to dilude money away from the real thing.

Let's say a ETF holds 100K BTC. The ETF makes some rule, the balance between BTC an $ should allways be between 25&33% so in the case a bitcoin is 1$ the total btc have a value of 100K. As soon as the first money flows in, this is all being parked on the side and not one bitcoin is actually bought extra. As soon as more then 50K moved into the fund the first extra bitcoin will be bought, because 50K = 33% of 150K (100K btc + $ 50K)

if the price of a bitcoin at that point rises to lets say 2$ this means the fund is worth 100K btc * 2$ = 200K$ + 50K investment money. At this point the fund exists of 80% btc and 20% $ (50K out of 250K) and this means the ETF should sell BTC until they meet their goal of at least 25% dollars.

A ETF makes the price of everything it trades in less volitile, but the owners donīt actually own any BTC, they own a piece of a fund that holds BTC. All the money put in an ETF is wasted money IMO, because you just give away your money to a trading bot with certain rules. If you want to own something you buy it, if you donīt want to own it you donīt buy it, but i would never put in an ETF, for one because it wil charges you fees 2nd because you have no personal controll over it, maybe one day the rules will change and they put it on a website somewhere with very small letters in order so you will never find out. ETFīs are often used by institutional investors (e.g. pensionfunds or 401K's in the US) because the pricefluctuation is smaller then the underlying asset/commodity and therefore less risky than the real thing + an ETF often pays dividend because of the trades they make, so you get a return on your investment.

I hope people will think twice before buying into the winkelvi bs, i am in no posission to tell you what to do with your money, but i put it in bitcoin because i want to own what I have, putting money in a Bitcoin ETF is like putting it in the bank, it's not your anymore and if for some reason the SHTF (like china stating they have enough $ and don't want any more, 2 days ago, news that is no where broadcasted but will impact the entire world) hold a piece of paper (could be a digital document) in dollar value.

I would love all pensionfunds to put in money though, because this would make it allmost impossible for BTC to ever lose all value, simply because they invest with funds that are numerous times the total marketcap of BTC today.
