3721  Economy / Economics / Re: First investments in bitcoins on: February 08, 2017, 02:34:05 PM
I actually agree with most analysis saying that it's a good time to buy now. We've been hovering around and above 1000 dollars for quite some time now and the situation is different from last time prices have been that high.

For me personally, it's a pretty comfortable BUY at this point.
3722  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Have you ever bought games from Steam using Bitcoin? If so, for how much? on: February 08, 2017, 02:19:26 PM
I am more bummed that Humble Bundle suspended support for Bitcoin purchases and now I need to exchange coins to PayPal but sometimes the deals there are not to be missed so it's worth the additional hassle.

Humble Bundle didn't suspend the support for Bitcoin purchases, we can still pay the bundle with Bitcoin. But indeed on the recent bundle (the Namco Bundle) the Bitcoin payment has been disabled, but you can still pay with Bitcoin on another bundle.
Oh, I've seen a couple of bundles lately that didn't have Bitcoin payments.
It's also a real pain that you can't buy anything with Bitcoin in their store. Seems like a pretty half assed way to 'support' Bitcoin payments.

I'm hoping that they will expand their Bitcoin support to the whole website and folllow suit with Steam.
3723  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Have you ever bought games from Steam using Bitcoin? If so, for how much? on: February 03, 2017, 11:40:39 PM
I have never bought games there. But I would like to buy World of Warcraft on Blizzard site. I would glad to pay the game and playing time with bitcoins. Does anyone know is it already possible or is it even planned to come true?
Yeah I would also like to buy Starcraft 2 using Bitcoin, but as far as I know, it's not possible to buy Blizzard games with Bitcoin.
It might be a good time to send them some e-mails about that, maybe some community oriented effort? Smiley

Starcraft 2 is great but I think Starcraft 1 (broad wars) is still the best real time strategy game of all times.

As for buying games in steam, I bought a couple during the winter sale, I got Project Cars and Asseto Corsa to play with my Logitech racing wheel, pretty good games.
There are a lot of things that you can't do in starcraft 1, talking about general unit management, it's a real pain in the ass.
I like classic games like SC1, but imo, they've really improved it with SC2 :p You just have to stop living in the past (j/k)
3724  Other / Archival / Re: BitFortune.io – brand new bitcoin casino | Anonymous | Secure | Fresh on: February 03, 2017, 11:33:34 PM
You forgot one thing though, is it provably fair? If not you'll have a hard time finding people willing to gamble with their hard earned money on a site where you could literally set the code for you to win all the time or win on any bet over a certain threshold.
Yeah provably fair would be nice, but it's not a deal breaker for most people.
Most of those commercial slot games can't even be provably fair.

OP, even though you're a newbie account, your site looks very good and I'm glad you've implemented anonymous accounts.
I wish you good luck with your casino8
3725  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: The new generation of secure email on: February 03, 2017, 11:19:19 PM
I'm certainly not opposed to the idea, but if I'm being honest, I think it's just going to be very hard to pull off.
Same reasons as Kakmakr states, similar providers are already having a very hard time due to constant bombardments with DDOS attacks while barely making a profit.

If you're in it for idealistic motives, I'd definitely say go ahead with it, breaking even is certainly possible! Just know that it might not be very profitable and it's a huge amount of work that you're going to have to put into it.
3726  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [SEC] Ponzi schemes Using virtual Currencies on: February 03, 2017, 11:12:04 PM
Every dam time there a issue they just point their fingers at virtual currency. Though this article is nice on the part that they help many investors aware of ponzi schemes. That's the only part I liked. As far for saying virtual currency promote ponzi scheme, then even Fiat has produced schemes like this and no one looses their mind. Irrespective of what they say, they can't put Bitcoin down. I feel this is a attempt by the agencies to try and scare away people from virtual currencies but they won't find any success, people now days are smart.
Huh, have you even read the same article as me? Where do they specifically state that virtual currencies promote ponzi schemes?
I don't even think that it's implied in that article...

I'd go even further and say that they recognize Bitcoin as a legitimate currency and they're just warning people of scammers that use it, without sounding too negative about the currency itself.
3727  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Top Bitcoin Websites By Traffic - Alexa Rank on: February 03, 2017, 11:08:33 PM
That's the true reality. I believe directbet comes under the top 10 traffic websites by bitcoin users. As 90% of the bitcoin users who gamble prefers it.

Gambling will get you nowhere, the more you bet the more you loose.
Casino business is made by loosers. If people would win there would be no casino's.
This is the reason i would like to have my own casino.
Why people are so stupid?
Contradicting yourself?

You said casino business is made by loosers. But you want to put up your own casino.
People who goes to casino are stupid. Again, having a casino would make you what?

So, which one are you? loosers or stupid?

Funny Guy...
All Casino Income is made by loosers
I think it's just a misunderstanding, he (Kemarit) thought you were referring to people who play in a casino are losers, in the sense that they're stupid people, while I think you meant that players generally lose more than the house loses.

Anyway, pretty good to see that crypto-games is actually at the 19th place, good to see they're growing Smiley
Hmm. He probably meant it in both sense. He's just being deliberately offensive.

Anyway, I also, especially checked out the linked just to see where we (crypto-games.net) are at.  Grin 19th!
I'm looking forward to seeing it among the top 5. Soon.  Wink All the best CG!

Pretty crazy to see that we're in 19th place, I remember they were still relatively unpopular little more than a years ago.
I especially remember a conversation in the chat on the website that they were going for organic growth, meaning that they didn't go for any real advertising, except for the sig campaign of course.

Good to see that it has all paid off Smiley
3728  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How did you started to gamble? What was your beginning like? on: February 03, 2017, 10:59:50 PM
I've already mentioned this in another thread earlier today, but I started gambling when I was around 16 years old.
I was just buying scratch tickets in a newspaper shop, it wasn't really frowned upon at that age, even though the legal age for gambling (and buying those tickets) was officially 18.

Can't say that that has affected me in any negative way, not addicted and I don't spend more than I can miss Smiley
3729  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Investing in casinos on: February 03, 2017, 10:54:09 PM
I think there's no casino bankroll will give a real passive income for every day/month/year, they not guaranteed it.
But the bankroll usually give they total bankroll and give a percentage of your profit, for example crypto-games bankroll.
They do give a passive income, you just have to invest a lot to make any significant kind of profit.
You're not going to get any income worth while when you invest less than 1 BTC.

But if you invest like 10 or 20 BTC, you'll see a really nice passive income if you leave it there for a longer period of time, that's the definition of passive income Tongue

Like Adzino has said on the first or second page of this thread, Crypto-Games is very transparent with their statistics, you can basically calculate how much you will make in the long term.

And something that a lot of people don't take into account:
Crypto-Games has a maximum win on dice games, meaning that that chances of losing your entire investment are next to non-existent.

3731  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 65214 Unconfirmed Transactions on: February 03, 2017, 10:11:36 PM
People Forgot That The Idea Of Bitcoin Is P2P Transferring, we need to run nodes in our home to support the bitcoin network, there’s how we can do it:
~snip~ lol

Isn't confirming transactions the same as mining? sorry but I was running a full node for a few months on my desktop and all I got was an useless overheated junk left for me to throw away.
If you know a way to run a full node and get the fees without the need of your resources being used then I'm all ears.
If you're running a full node, you're basically just giving away your resources right now.
I think there should indeed be some sort of incentive for full nodes, but that just isn't the case.

Back in 2015, Bitnodes was giving out some incentive to people running a full node though:

3732  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin arcade machine? on: February 03, 2017, 10:05:56 PM
I just shared this in another topic, but there is one in Prague which i loved! They did it with the drink vending machine as well:

https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/3pcpe3/bitcoinenabled_mortal_kombat_at_paralelni_polis/
First time I've seen something like this, pretty cool! The technology behind it isn't too hard to recreate though, but licensing games might be the real pain in the ass. (Imagine an arcade machine with like 100 games to choose from ^^)

Now, if only someone could commercialize something like this, we could have these all over the world Smiley
They might not be the best profit makers, but certain hobbyists would certainly want to place these somewhere..
3733  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: When did you start gambling? (Because of BCT Promotion?) on: February 03, 2017, 10:01:41 PM
I think I started gambling when I was around 16 years old, buying scratch tickets in the local newspaper shops.
Probably not very legal, but it was socially accepted here.

I gambled a bit more when I was introduced to Bitcoin, since I had never used dice sites and I always thought that that was a pretty fun way of gambling.
3734  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: do you can control your self when playing gambling? on: February 03, 2017, 09:59:22 PM
Yea I can control my self in playing gambling , I can hold my temper betting large quantity of bitcoin. The most lossers in gambling are the gamblers nthat cant control them self in playing gambling and the worst of it they are very addicted that they are risking the things that the gambler wouldnt.
Same as you, I can control myself in gambling. I know the time which i will stop gambling or to continue. By the way i don't consider gambling as a source of profit.
I always gambling for fun. So i can't will be addict.
Anyways, I advice some people to stop in the right time and be smart, Else they lose a lot of money. They should stop to be greedy.
It's easy to think that if you only play for fun that you can't get addicted, but the reality is that addiction can creep up on you and you won't even realise at first that you're getting addicted.

This in my opinion has a lot to do with the personality of the player, meaning that some people are just more prone to getting addicted than others.

My advice to anyone is, just be careful and honest with yourself. It's very hard to beat gambling addiction and it's always better if you recognise it earlier, rather than later.
3735  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Online Gambling vs Real Gambling on: February 03, 2017, 09:56:36 PM
Well for obvious reasons online gambling is banned in many countries. I think the reason can be because the government thinks it is bad and they don't want people to spend there money on risky things.
Now for the difference
Online gambling has a minimum investment of 1$.
While in real gambling you can't jusr be like I wanna bet 1$ on this blackjack game or anything.
Second online gambling doesn't require many paperwork while real gambling requires lot's of procedures to build a real casino.
I don't know if that's really the reason.
A lot of countries have their own state controlled version of gambling, usually in the form of a national lottery.

It's just good business for them to ban all other forms of gambling unless these providers pay the government some kind of fee.

Here in Belgium a lot of online gambling sites are actually DNS blocked by the internet providers.
3736  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What's your favorite Gambling Site? on: February 03, 2017, 09:53:49 PM
Already said this a couple of times, but for me it's definitely Crypto-Games.
Just the overall GUI of the website and the fact that they're pretty transparant about everything makes it my favourite casino.

Bitcoinvideocasino is a close second because of the big progressive jackpots on every game.
3737  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Have you ever bought games from Steam using Bitcoin? If so, for how much? on: February 03, 2017, 09:47:43 PM
I have actually bought games on steam with bitcoin, it's a pretty pleasant experience and pretty much as simple as using a credit card though the only thing you have to wait on is for the confirmations.

Make sure to set the fee high if you want to get the game sometime within 20mins or so. The amount was around $30 or so.
That's good to know. I myself am thinking of buying some games on it, and in that way test the quality of the service, as I have never used steam before. First I have to check if there are good purchase options, of course, but the fact that this company is making available the possibility of buying using Bitcoin brings already an additional incentive for me to buy it through this platform.
Steam itself is a pretty good service, they've been around since forever and if you have your mind set on a particular game, than it's no problem to use their service.

I'm saying that because I would stay away from games that are still in alpha or beta stages, unless they have very good reviews already.
You can get refunds, but I'm not sure if you can get a refund in Bitcoin. If someone knows if it's possible, please share Smiley
3738  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: is LTC dead ? on: February 03, 2017, 09:40:31 PM
It has been quite stable for the last 12 months, maybe this trend will end with Segregated Witness implementation, if it can be done, something like what is happening in bitcoin may also happen with litecoin and it may never be implemented
It's pretty likely that segwit will be implemented in Litecoin before bitcoin, the threshold for Bitcoin is 95%, while the treshold for Litecoin is only 75%

Litecoin isn't going anywhere, prices of altcoins rise and fall, Litecoin has been around forever and its development has slacked more in the past than now.
It will survive.
3739  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: whether bitcoin help you when you have financial problems? on: February 03, 2017, 09:36:54 PM
Bitcoin is an excellent store of value in the long term, but it isn't really better than just saving money in the old fashioned way.
Some people are just better savers than other people and I don't think it matters if they use Bitcoin for savings or a regular bank account.

Also, how can you get financial troubles if you're saving?
3740  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling and Supertition on: February 03, 2017, 09:33:01 PM
I would like to say that I'm totally not superstitious when gambling, but when I think about it, I do play the same numbers when playing roulette.
I always bet on these numbers: 5, 7, 14, 27 and 32
