Taking the rays.  They were too good to gone down so easily.  At great odds too.  I know it's in Boston but I still think the rays should be favored.

So I'm curious who you guys think is the best team in football right now?  Before the start of the season I was sold on both Kansas City and Tampa Bay.  Now after seeing KC already lose a couple games and Tampa look not quite as good as last year ( it is still early ) I'm thinking I'm changing my mind a bit.  Personally I think Buffalo wins the Super Bowl this year..at least my prediction as of right now.  What do you guys think?
On the NFC I still think Tampa Bay is the best team, their defense is suffering a lot of injuries and the play calling of the coaches is not helping them, they are scoring too quickly which means their defense is really tired at the end of the game, it seems that Brady is going to have to remind them that scoring a touchdown while killing clock is a good option too, but I really think they are going to improve on all of those aspects and they are going to get really good at the end of the season.

On the AFC things are a little bit more complicated, but I'll agree with you and I think the Bills is the best team, the Chiefs have the same problems that Tampa Bay have but the difference is that I do not really think the defense of the Chiefs is going to get any better, Mahomes needs to score at least 30 points per game if they want to win, and when I look at the Bills they look way more balanced, so the game they are having this week is going to be critical and it is probably going to be the difference between playing at home or not.

Until they are knocked off I agree those are still the teams to beat.  17 games is a long nfl season, health plays a factor down the stretched, but if each team has all of their weapons would you bet against them?  Bills vs KC in a pick em, would be extremely hard betting against mahomes.  And I will never bet against Brady ever...ever.

Cool idea.  That's a 51mm slug huh. I Like me some bigger coins.  Not a huge fan of nft thingys but obviously I'm not of the majority Smiley

Good luck with your project.  Always like seeing new ideas come to fruition here.

Edit: nice touch on the website explanation  Grin " Pawn it, carry it to impress your conspiracy theorist trap girlfriend, or store it away for your cousin's grandkids because if you're still reading this, you're probably gonna die alone and need some "meaning" to sustain you when your trading account goes to zero.

Speaking of the effect of 3-point shots today, I don't know if you remember this but just take a look back at how these 3 players thought of the same thing by positioning themselves outside the arc waiting for the ball (link). It's funny because anyone of them could have chosen an easy layup or an open dunk to tie and extend for an OT. Just an unbelievably dumb play Grin

I never seen that picture but I would have been heated if I was the coach.  I mean cmon that's elementary school in to realize fill the paint and lay it up.  Go to ot and fight it out.  I mean did the entire team lay on the under on this game  Grin

Good game we have going on tonight!  Seattle has been playing a bit so so of late, but they still are a very good/dangerous team and I expect them to come out swinging.  The Rams of course have been on an absolute roll and look pretty amazing with Matthew Stafford under center.  It's just too bad the game is in Seattle (hardest place for road team to play at) I love seeing that SoFi stadium the Rams play in.

Yep hoping this one doesn't disappoint.  Looking for a shootout with Carson out let russ cook!.  Think I'm gonna hit the over in this game and root against the games defense instead of sweating it out by team.  37-27 *somebody wins*

Yeah but CMC is back and you got Darnold too... you'll be fine Smiley

Both questionable. everyone is QUESTIONABLE !!!

Just grabbed his backup who was questionable as well. LOL

Looks like I only have 4 questionable backs now. Cheesy

My whole bench is backs! Cheesy

Yeah week 5 in football all the injuries piling up, byes coming in.  Here we go!  Fasten up.  Honestly most teams throw those injury reports down as a caution.  Look at whether or not they practiced full on Thursday and Friday.  If they are held up out of the practices all week then you really have a questionable going into the game.  I barely look until Saturday. (Except for the Thursday night team guys)

The geothermal energy should have been used elsewhere like for homes.

Bitcoin shouldn't monopolize energy sources that could be used elsewhere.

Anything that is profit worthy will steal those energy sources.  Imagine they really start mining like crazy.  Probably a long shot since they would probably just want to buy and hold bitcoin instead of mining the decreasing rewards.  I don't know I just never imagined a government itself would step into the mining realm.  They won't be the last one to do it to.
3728  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: El Salvador mining bitcoin on: October 07, 2021, 12:01:41 AM
Thoughts?

He has mined 400$ in two days and from the glimpse at the installed gear those are S9s, so he has around 50-60 miners maximum, if he had more he would have come with far more tweets and screenshots and quoting the hashrate but it's clear he has no intention of doing that.
Taking into account what the director of the company says, quoting the MW ar the Berlin powerplant at 100$ there is no way for mining to become unprofitable because of this alone, furthermore, I'm willing to bet his entire mining operations won't reach even 1% of the hashrate 6 months from now on.

As for the network hash rate 'staying' at  46 Exxahash: dream on. It'll be over 200 by January once the 5nm mining rigs come online.

He said 45T, that's difficulty and in hashrate it would be over 300exa, also, TMSC has canceled the orders for the wafers in August.

Sure It can become unprofitable, well at least a huuuuuge roi drag.  I mean if governments are willing to spend $600 on a hammer what's stopping from paying $10k for an s9.  If governments who are not bottom line driven get into the game then they can raise the price of all existing and new hardware (more demand than supply) and price out home miners and even large pools.  This honestly scares me

Early on.  I'm still thinking KC will get it together but I will tell you they are going to have their issues with the chargers.  Next couple years if they can add a couple pieces they will be dangerous.  So odds right now for KC are even looking better.  And for the NFL cmon chi....Giants ofc.
3730  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: October 06, 2021, 11:24:08 PM
I think the NBA will be slowly going back to powering up the inside players like Jokic and Giannis to balance the game.
I would love to see more post-ups too because it is getting more and more extinct in the NBA as shown in this article

Ahhh...  The Stephen Curry effect...  I blame analytics but I guess all you can really do is be mad that shooters have gotten so much better that it makes sense to shoot from half court now as opposed to running an offensive play to try and get an open midrange jumper.  People always say how Michael Jordan would score 60+ per game in today's NBA, but I sort of think the opposite.  His mid-range fadeaway move (his bread and butter) would be discouraged by coaches today.  He'd like be forced to shoot more 3 pointers and would have the lane completely closed off so he couldn't drive.  I think you'd see his fg% drop as a result, and with that his usage rate.

Really makes me appreciate Shaquille O'Neal and be glad I had the opportunity to see him play in person.

Jordan would run amuck in today's game.  Iso, with these defenders.  Outside of 5-10 people in the NBA nobody can guard anymore.  Imagine not having to drive in the paint with Charles Oakley and Anthony Mason waiting to mug you.  I'm glad Jordan got to play when he did because it makes it that more amazing.  When people say he isn't the GOAT and mention someone from today's game I chuckle.  Not even worth the explanation.

Preface: I know it's pre season

Now.  The Knicks are back!! Was fun watching that game even though it was just preseason.  I know they aren't a "top" team but from where they were these past 20 years I can finally watch with a semi expectation of them possibly winning any given game.  Be interesting to see how kemba holds up through the year.  They finally have depth so hopefully they don't have to over use him.

Wow guys. Can't believe my Sox are still in it, I actually bet on their final season game, but thought the Wild Card day would be one step too far -- and then last night happened.

Feel sorry for Cole, just got rushed, allowed 2 early home runs and that practically sealed the game.

Bosox 6 - 1 Yankees and my early outright @52 taken 6 months ago suddenly looks so much better now.

Yeah they pounced on Cole early.  That 52x er is definately a nice play.  They pretty much are facing one of the best now in the rays.  If they get by the rays good chance at the series.  Still think the dodgers or San Fran are the teams to beat.  Those 2 teams are seriously stacked with ballers.  Dodgers have to get by st Louis tonight but if they do the dodgers San Fran series will be the series to watch.

I am assuming the game would change a bit wouldn't it? I mean without this rule it was three point era and everyone is shooting three pointers that is for sure however how well do you think will this rule work?

I assume that people may end up not creating their own shots too much anymore, defenders will eventually realize that these fouls won't be called and they will defend better and shooters will realize they can't get that foul anymore so they will try to find even more open places. All in all I believe this may hurt the all around three points taken in a game average down this year. Not that I am complaining, I believe it is a marvelous decision, just waiting to see how it will work.

I award the NBA for instituting this.  Tired of watching guys lean into defenders from 40 feet out.  Will see how good Trae Young really is.  He relies on people not covering him because of his leaning into fouls.  Harden gonna feel this one too.  We need to wheel this back to 90s basketball.

Ya, Paul George is the worst to watch sometimes when he's doing his jump into defenders thing.

On a different note, I can't believe the Suns are not wanting to give DeAndre Ayton his max contract.  He was the reason they had such a good playoff run and if he hadn't completely disappeared vs the Bucks things might have been different.  He's still young and probably not worth the money to be honest, but he's developing fast and if he can find a way to keep that energy that got him through the first few rounds of the playoffs, dude will be a beast.  Not sure salting the relationship is something Suns management should be doing, but it's Suns management...  Did we really think they were going to be able to keep a team competitive?

Yeah if I were the Suns I'd lock him up.  Dude is a good one.  Not many true centers in the league and the (man)kid is going to only get better with time.  They need Book and aytun for the long run and can keep.piecing around them.

Ben Simmons will start to lose $360,304 for every game missed, starting Monday night in Toronto.
New information included on whether Simmons can recoup the loss in game pay if he is eventually traded: https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/32135075/everything-know-know-ben-simmons-philadelphia-76ers-their-trade-impasse
Damn, what a condition.

He has to be there at most times and plays safe so that he doesn't get injured and get to play for the team for each of their matches.

WAT?

I started an MLB thread but couldn’t seem to get much traction with it which I guess goes to show how unpopular baseball is worldwide and how other sports such as football are becoming even more popular worldwide while baseball falls to the wayside. That said, looking forward to the elimination game between Boston and New York, doesn’t get much better than that. Also as a Cubs fan I’ll be rooting for anyone facing the Cardinals..hopefully they won’t last long lol

Yeah as a yankee fan this is the mecca of the season.  A one game playing against the Sox in their house.  Although nerve racking its like an immediate game 7 from the jump.  Hopefully the yanks come out quick.  8pm EST coming soon, #squadup!!

Best part of ff, I care about a game that's that's blowout with 2 teams I could care less about lol.
Without a doubt this is the best part of FF, the game was too lopsided in favor of the LAC and while there was a reaction by the LV Raiders this is the kind of game I would have stopped watching and do something else, but your match is what kept me glued to my screen, I really thought the game was over with Waller’s TD but then the Mars Elon Muks made an impressive comeback and just like that there are no more undefeated teams on the league.

Congratulations to bbc.reporter on the impressive win.

Yeah it was one of those games I can see them feeding ekler I knew he was gonna run one in.  Like watching a train wreck I had to watch.  Ever look at the win % on espn its rediculous.  I was at 98% or something chance of winning once waller scored.  With a ton of time and knowing ekler was going to get fed was funny knowing it was more 50/50.  Same once ekler score ld iwas only a 2% chance of winning but easily could have gotten 3-4 points with waller knowing they were in a passing situation and most likely LA was going to have a soft zone up avoiding any long passes.

My prediction for my present match up versus Interwebz wheelz, it will depend on Waller. If Derek Carr throws the ball to him instead of Ruggs for their next touch down, I lose. However, Ekeler is having a very good game hehehe. I was looking at my score yesterday and I was quite certain that I lost already.

Well done, you defeated the fearsome wheelz team and it looks like we're gonna have two 3-way tiebreakers for positions 1-3 and 4-6 in the standings.

Things getting tighter.  Coming up on the bye weeks this is where it gets interesting and roster management starts separating teams.  Congrats BBC reporter, close game all the way down to the last drive of the last game.  Ekler wrecked me as I thought he would.
