3721  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] BitcoinStore.com (Beta) - Electronics super store with over 500K items! on: January 22, 2013, 05:04:45 PM
For now,  please check out the Home Appliances section:  http://www.bitcoinstore.com/more/home-appliances.html

The BTC/USD conversion rate used is $13.52 while Mt. Gox is at $17.44

Just pointing this out so you can fix it, because it looks dishonest.

*facepalm* No wonder I felt something was amiss here.
3722  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Jakers is Scammer Beware on: January 22, 2013, 05:03:17 PM
I'm still not convinced that Jakers is a scammer based on the evidence above by boilerman and OP.

We'll he's not doing a good job of creating a reputation as a trusted trader.

Jakers maybe it's time to find a now hobby where trust doesn't matter.    WoW, Steam??
Well, Jakers is resolving the problem with OP (which is a genuine accusation). Boilerman's accusation is weak so to say as his evidence is practically non-existent, combined with the age of his account....

Theymos beat me in posting this to Important Announcements.  Cheesy
Best of luck in clearing this up!

MemoryDealers:

I am sure the community is interested in knowing how you are doing. Is the site currently answering to your expectations ?

I will certainly consider using your site the next time it's time to order electronics.

How is it for ordering to countries outside the US, I didn't see any shipping options for this. Do you at the moment ship internationally ? If so, it would be interesting to know what kind of shipment options there are, and the cost of these.

Also, are you shipping from the US, or are you shipping from Asia (China) ?
The site's shipping internationally (and for a quite good price too), and from the USA. (The shipping options are from USPS).
Try adding stuff to your cart and checking out to see the shipping options.

I'm still going through the product list here....

Yawn. Tomatocage needs a new entry in his list.
3727  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Interested in AVALON guy? Come on, let me show u his TRUE COLOR. on: January 22, 2013, 02:34:27 PM
A cursory review shows that ngzhang is the sole technical advisor, customer service, and general salesman for the China region, and he is 'going crazy' from that. I'll have to spend some time making out head and tail from the longish conversation, though....

There's a couple of detractors in the conversation stating that ngzhang blocked them for trolling. I still do not see ngzhang's faults here.

tl;dr: nothing of significance here apart from the trolling. The drama is worse in the Avalon thread.
3728  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Interested in AVALON guy? Come on, let me show u his TRUE COLOR. on: January 22, 2013, 02:28:24 PM

The images are loading slowly for me. Yikes, this'll take me some time to go through.

Man, I wish you guys used real imagehosts that are not blacklisted everywhere instead of what you use.

imagehosts u can easily visit r blocked by GFW.   Grin

I've leeched the links over to imgur.com here:

Without seeing the full context, we cannot know what is the intent behind his words.

Full translation below for the other conversations:

NGzhang: What do you mean by politeness?
/pig: Have the time to accept your phone call.
killthelion: The final product retailers should be in contact in this case
killthelion: Do you expect the Head Of Health Ministry to greet you when you go to a hospital?
killthelion: You guys are not making sense here.
/pig: (scowling face)

killthelion: You're just a seller; why are you so proud?
NGzhang: The lowest level in the ecosystem.
Who am I: (references out of context)( Why the long winded talk?)
/pig: Haha
3/4stick of cigarrete: Let me say something fair. It is not NGZ who're selling to you, the sales are done using the website. You'll need to visit the site to buy. NGZ has placed this bluntly, if you want to buy in large numbers you can contact him, otherwise please purchase through the website. This is analogous to (name of a shop here that I don't know)'s modus operandi, although the service is certainly not that good as (name of shop)'s.
NGzhang:LOL

(last Pic)
(photoshopped pic section) NGZhang:The lowest level in the ecosystem.
killthelion: You guys mine until your dignity is lost.
Who am I: If you think it's not high tech enough, then go and make one of your own.
NGZhang: That's correct
NGzhang: Mining makes you have no dignity, no human rights.
NGzhang: that's it.

Well, that certainly makes more sense now...

John, please don't lie, I am a native speaker and you are lying quite thoroughly.

In this line:(photoshopped pic section) NGZhang:The lowest level in the ecosystem.

It should be: Did someone experienced a hallucination that I ever think highly of miners?

Meaning: Did someone experienced a hallucination that I ever respected miners?

And I typed a (simplified) Chinese transcript of that line, go Google translate it if you don't believe me.

好像刚才有人出现了我曾经瞧得起矿工的幻觉?

Google Translate English:Just as someone I used to think much of the miners hallucinations?

John, it was not wise for you to play the game of word, really, it is not wise.

And other fellow Bitcoiners, it was said that:好問則裕,自用則小 Meaning that if you ask questions, you will be rich in knowledge, if you are opinionated, there are little use of you. (Yeah, I write traditional Chinese, I live in Hong Kong)

Yep, I admit I mistranslated that part (好像刚才有人出现了我曾经瞧得起矿工的幻觉?) due to copy and pasting. The correct translation is in the OP:

Quote
NGzhang: just now some guy got a hallucination that i ever showed any respect to miners

Replying on a phone sucks.  Embarrassed

3730  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Announcement] Avalon ASIC Ships on: January 22, 2013, 01:40:49 PM
I'm waiting for Jeff's review and nothing else. That'll be the conclusive proof that Avalon isn't a flop.
3731  Other / Off-topic / Re: I'd like to ask for some help. on: January 22, 2013, 01:37:03 PM
Someone had already put it quite eloquently; it is the equivalent to having broken someone's windows. I did not benefit from it, but neither did the person whose windows I may have broken. Just added to the chaos and now I am paying for the broken windows and trying to put them in myself. Some people are telling me that they already replaced them and they'd rather have me rake the leaves in their yard. Some people are telling me that they want the full price of the window. Still others are telling me that the house they were living in was in a fire and doesn't need the windows replaced any more. I can hold the label of "scammer" for a lack of a better title, but scammers don't pay people back and work to change their lives.

You need a 'Rehab' title here.  Cheesy
3732  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Interested in AVALON guy? Come on, let me show u his TRUE COLOR. on: January 22, 2013, 01:35:18 PM
NGzhang: Mining makes you have no dignity, no human rights.

John, what a good translation.
ask some Chinese come here to tell  is that what he wanna say, dont play a game of words.
i know the whole story now, and i can post all screenshot here.
maybe the best way is anyone interested in this issue just try to find a Chinese friend to translate.

what makes me feel embarrassed is when i tried to say something for miners who bought or plan to buy AVALON machine.
why do they just keep silence?

I believe I am producing the most accurate translation here, and I'm not playing a game of words. I am merely interested to show the exact translation as opposed to you who have a clear agenda here.

That said, most people here don't really care about what NGZhang's saying as long as he's producing a working product. You should see other ASIC manufacturer's - they even swear publicly. No one gives a damn as long as they're producing an actual product.

PS: I have no affinity with either ASIC manufacturer. I am a native speaker of Chinese and English, for the record, and I understand the meaning behind the phrases without machine translation.

3735  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Mt Gox Hacked - lost it all today... now what!? on: January 22, 2013, 09:18:17 AM
If MtGox could make it so that you could add your PGP public key and then configure your account such that bitcoin withdrawals require PGP signature of a pre-generated message that contained the destination bitcoin address, MtGox would have undisputable conclusive proof in the event of a disagreement as to whether a withdrawal was authorized.

However: what's the difference of having ones password stolen and having ones pgp key stolen and passphrase key-logged?

The difference is the attacker wouldn't have the PGP private key.
By PGP key he would mean the private key, of course. Who needs to steal public keys?
3736  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Mt.Gox out of money on: January 22, 2013, 09:15:39 AM
Just to point out that he indeed is a regular miner, and has probably exchanged more on mtgox than both of us combined. He's the operator of eclipse mining pool too.

I wonder what the laws are on shipping fireworks. Where would shipping be to?
Only UPS Ground should be allowed, and make sure you declare it appropriately.
