@South Park. Rookie of the year hehehe. He saved my team for this week.

I am not quite certain why the Bills’ coach decided for them to chase the 4th and 1 or the touchdown instead of the field goal and the overtime.
3722  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2021-10-15] SEC Set to Allow Bitcoin Futures ETFs as Deadline Looms on: October 18, 2021, 05:28:42 AM
@Slow death. That date is only 1 application for approval. There are 3 others on October 19 and for October 25 then another for November 1. These dates might give enough time for the market to buy the rumor sell the news on an all time high hehehe.
3723  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ***BREAKING *** Bitcoin ETF is approved on: October 18, 2021, 04:38:37 AM
Breaking. ETF green light is already priced in.

It has not been approved by the SEC as other have mentioned. This is only Nasdaq’s public announcement that they are ready to list. These are the real dates for the approval or rejection.

And that's the "problem" for me. It's not actually greenlighted, but I believe everyone and their trading mom is pricing it in, the eventual go ahead shouldn't really do much. Unless the SEC itself makes a big deal out of it or provide commentary on why they approved it and actually said something nice about Bitcoin (but that's just my non-technical reasoning).

Not so many hours left to a possible decision.

Agreed, as antagonistic it may sound. I hope I am wrong on this, however, this might be the market doing a move similar to buy the rumor, sell the news. Also, I asked this but no one answers, will Gary Gensler approve an ETF for bitcoin if we base the decision on his latest comments on the cryptospace?

Najee Harris will save his bet and my fantasy team hehe.

Lemon in beer, especially Mexican beer is common but not oranges in beer.

It appears that putting oranges and orange peel is common for Belgian beer. I might try this with friends next time hehehe.

https://beerandbrewing.com/orange-appeal/

In any case , who are your candidates for rookie of the year? Top 3 among football experts are Jamarr Chase, Micah Parsons and Najee Harris. Sometimes Mac Jones is mentioned.

Same goes with the Chargers at +2.5

Jesus what an ass stomping in the wrong direction. What a shitshow. Well that's going to seriously throw off the ATS stats for both of these teams.

At least I had the foresight to bench Herbert. I didn't think the defense would shut them down so hard, however.

If Arizona covers I won't consider it a redemption but it will save my gambling account a bit.

There will presently be still more than 50% for the Chargers to win against the spread, however. I think we cannot assume for them to win always versus top teams.

https://www.covers.com/sport/football/nfl/statistics/team-betting/2021-2022

Chargers on bye week for week 7 and they will play against the Patriots on week 8. This is also another top team hehehe.
3727  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Terence Crawford vs Shawn Porter - Nov. 20 on: October 17, 2021, 09:11:01 AM
@Kemarit. Nitrogensports had their odds offers for over and under set on 10.5 rounds, however, they have removed it. Considering that it might still be on 10.5 rounds, I reckon the round 7-9 range might be a good bet if you speculate under 10.5 rounds. Terence Crawford’s tactics is perfect for Porter’s style. Terence can switch stance while retreating and hit Porter with a counter knockout punch!

@Boafeng. What is your prediction?
3728  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Canelo Alvarez vs Caleb Plant on: October 17, 2021, 08:22:46 AM
Practice is different from the actual fight, although Canelo is exceptionally good we can never guarantee a win since Caleb would surely work to increase his chance of winning this fight. Canelo is getting better and better every time, but he is not perfect, he could also make a mistake that might cause him a defeat.

I agree with you that Canelo is not perfect but even Caleb is doing great from practice and working hard to increase his chance to win the fight, Canelo is also having the same. A great example that Caleb doesn't have that good reflexxes is when Canelo is able to throw a punch on his face at their press conference. That was actually easy to avoid but Caleb is not paying attention. Now that it happened, Caleb should watch for that.
I do not think we should make any conclusions about the fighting abilities of Caleb based on that incident, after all maybe he was not expecting that reaction from Canelo and he was simply unable to avoid the hit as he was surprised by the turn of events, however it is clear by the odds being given by the casinos that Canelo is the favorite by far and unless Caleb can connect some good punches at the beginning of the fight I do not see him having a chance against Canelo.

Canelo will be too quick for Caleb. Did you see his moves during the press conference? Canelo took off Caleb Plant’s sunglasses with the left hand then slapped him on the head with the right hand in milliseconds hehehe.

In any case, this is off the topic, however, I am excited to share this with you Canelo and Pacquiao fans. Who is this young pup training with Canelo?

Patrick Price has a bad hair day, my opinion of our matchup stands.

He just hasn't been the same since the news broke about his fake car insurance discount. It shattered his confidence which explains the off-moments in his performance this year.

I would like it if that commercial series culminated in physical violence against Jake from State Farm. Patrick and Aaron have had it with Jake's shenanigans so they challenge him to a quick football contest, which they use as an excuse to double-tackle him, resulting in Jake's brief but touch-and-go hospitalization.

For Sunday I like Arizona at +3.5, just going by my philosophy of 'those who do well against the spread, will continue to do well against the spread,' as goes for doing bad. Same goes with the Chargers at +2.5 -- another good team that tends to cover taking points this week. Those ought to be two great matchups and I wouldn't be surprised if the underdog wins both of them.

I also like that +2.5 for the Chargers, it was +3 during the beginning for the week. Everything is working with them, the passing, the rushing, the receiving. However, how would you rate Baltimore’s defense? You reckon they will stop Ekeler?

Dang Carolina panthers actually just threw Christian McCaffrey on IR so he is out at least another 3 games.  Shame between him and Barkley to no fault of their own they won't be draftable in the front end of a draft anymore.  Too injury prone.

Sam Darnold is underestimated and might not be bad for the Panthers. Mr. Stephen says +2.5 will be a winner!
3730  Economy / Economics / Re: Reality Check on Crypto on: October 17, 2021, 06:39:35 AM
@MNbag. This is not very shocking except for the larpers who only hodl and dreaming to be rich. In reality, they do not use bitcoin for everyday payments, however, they will be very aggressive to call you an antagonizer.

The more honest people would not attack constructive criticsms but would ask and explore if bitcoin can really be used for mainstream adoption and everyday payments.

One month since launch, 12% of consumers have used the cryptocurrency, the Salvadoran Foundation for Economic and Social Development reported.

"Since yesterday, Salvadorans are inserting more cash (to buy #bitcoin) than what they are withdrawing from the @chivowallet ATMs," Bukele tweeted on Wednesday. "This is very surprising so early in the game."

But the foundation, which polled 233 companies across different sectors, found that the overall use was still low, with 93% of companies reporting no bitcoin payments.

"We're still not sure what benefits the government expected," said Leonor Selva of the National Association of Private Enterprises, one of several business groups that remains skeptical about the rollout.

3731  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: ***BREAKING *** Bitcoin ETF is approved on: October 17, 2021, 05:57:17 AM
Breaking. ETF green light is already priced in.

Not to be a wet blanket but OP proves that the market is already reacting or has already executed all the actions as if the ETF is active and go. So when it eventually does (we're all in agreement right?) trade, most of that good feeling and sentiment would have been set in. Not that this won't be the trigger to many more new ATHs!

It has not been approved by the SEC as other have mentioned. This is only Nasdaq’s public announcement that they are ready to list. These are the real dates for the approval or rejection.

Wait for Sunday if it pumps, if it does not pump and appears to he waiting for news, I speculate there will be sell on news dump.

Also, from Gary Gensler’s latest statements on bitcoin and the cryptospace, would anyone say that there will be an approval for an ETF?
3732  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The American Football Discussion Thread 🏈🏈 on: October 16, 2021, 08:15:20 AM
@South Park. This is 3 games without their quarterback, however, would you bet on Panthers +2.5 in their home stadium? The Panthers’ defense is good and might end the game with only -1 hehe.

Also, NFL experts, what are your predictions? Other teams that have been positive against the spread are the Cowboys only -3.5? The Bills only -5.5? They might win by 1 touchdown versus the Patriots and the Titans, I reckon. The Chargers is +2.5 versus the Ravens. This is another team that has been good against the spread.
3733  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: October 16, 2021, 07:38:37 AM
Has anyone noticed though, that weight misses were much more prominent during the highs of Covid? I haven't looked at the statistics to verify that, but I'm pretty sure that we are getting less than we were a few months ago. I'm wondering whether unreported Covid19 cases during camps contributed to it.

I'm also going for Aspen Ladd for those odds. I'm not sure why they are priced to highly? I wasn't expecting shorter odds in this fight.

Agreed, however as @tokeweed mentioned her weight was a problem when she tried to cheat her weigh in for her original fight vs. Macy Chiasson, according Miesha Tate. Is this uncle Dana’s move of creating another storyline for Miesha Tate vs. Aspen Ladd through his pet Miesha?

UFC bantamweight Aspen Ladd has had her share of weight-cutting struggles throughout her four-year UFC run. The latest issue took place this past weekend prior to her scheduled UFC Vegas 38 bout against Macy Chiasson.

The following day, Miesha Tate reacted to Ladd’s statement. Needless to say, the former bantamweight champion did not give her peer a pass for missing weight. In fact, she believes there was a visible element of deception at play from the 26-year-old.

“It’s one thing to miss weight, it’s another thing to try and cheat the scale and use every excuse in the book to not weigh in properly. Everyone saw you cheat and still came in a lb over. I bet you were every bit of 139,” Tate’s tweet reads.

@TravelMug. It is 2.00 for under 9.5 rounds. The odds are available and offered on Nitrogensports. I reckon they remain the best website for basic odds and offers.

In any case, Canelo is also training for under 9.5 rounds hehehe. This might become under 7.5 rounds when the fight nears. Caleb Plant will regret talking about his mother hehe.

https://youtu.be/R4lGsixTjoE

I'm gonna take that odds, this fight will not gonna go to the distance, Canelo is motivated to knockout Plant because of the disrespectful manners of Plant during the press conference. Actually, I have never seen Canelo this angry during the press conference in his previous fights, and guess what, he still dominate his opponent so most likely this is an exemption, he would dominate and KO his opponent early, 1-3 rounds is my prediction.

if you are rooting for canelo, yes much better if you will bet the over/under as the odds are better than betting full-time. as canelo is motivated to finish this fight early because of the surrounding drama, placing bet under may be a good choice. this event is fast approaching so hoping that no other reasons that they will cancel this fight.

and btw, based from this article, caleb was not actually talking about his mom, but he was referring to canelo himself. just a misunderstanding.

Did Caleb Plant also watch that knockout practice video hehehe?

In all honesty I do not know much about Caleb Plant. There was a trainer who was a guest in Mike Tyson’s podcast that predicted Caleb Plant can win because he has better boxing than Canelo. @Boafeng, you are the boxing expert, do you agree Caleb Plant is underestimated and has a better chance?
3735  Economy / Speculation / Re: How do you explain the October pump? on: October 16, 2021, 06:26:45 AM
@Ratimov. Agreed. Let us enjoy this present pump, however, on the threat of being accused of being an antagonizer again, my message is always the same. We should also be cautious because the reality of the market is bubbles will always pop. There are people who would say I fud, I would ask them is the cryptospace markets presently not in a bubble?

Crypto-currency market is double the size of US sub-prime debt before financial crisis

The crypto-currency market is double the size of the sub-prime debt in the US on the eve of the financial crisis and poses a threat unless urgently regulated, the Bank of England (BOE) said. Crypto assets are now worth $2.3 trillion (€2 trillion), about 200 per cent more than at the start of the year. While that’s still a small part of the $250 trillion global financial system, it’s about twice the size of the $1.2 trillion sub-prime real estate debt market in 2008.

This is the type of weapon in maneuvering that FTX has in their armory but Binance does not have. Sam Bankman-Fried is a very smart CEO. Chinese regulators banned the cryptospace? Sam attacks the next biggest market potential of the cryptospace in Asia.

Cryptocurrency exchange FTX Trading Limited on Wednesday announced a partnership with the International Cricket Council (ICC), the global governing body of Cricket.

FTX will be the official cryptocurrency exchange partner for all the events organized by the global Cricket regulator.

The partnership covers all ICC tournaments- Men’s and Women’s Cricket World Cups; Men’s and Women’s T20 World Cups; Men’s U19 Cricket World Cup, and Men’s Cricket World Cup Qualifiers.

The first assignment of FTX is the upcoming Men’s T20 World Cup beginning this month.

3738  Bitcoin / Press / [2021-10-14] U.S. Claims Top Spot For Bitcoin Mining As Miners Flee China ban on: October 14, 2021, 06:09:23 AM
I have been seeing this development being larped by maximalists in social media. Does this not open bitcoin mining from a risk moving to another risk? What would the effect be if the American government decides to begin cracking down on miners similar to what occured in China? This should be concerning.

The United States is now the top location for bitcoin miners in the world, according to new data from the University of Cambridge, breaking China’s stranglehold on the industry after Beijing’s cryptocurrency crackdown sent miners scrambling to new locales.

As of July, more than a third (35.4%) of bitcoin’s hashrate—a measure of the mining network’s computing power—was located in the U.S., according to the Cambridge Centre for Alternative Finance.
The figure is the highest proportion recorded for the U.S., up from around 21.8% as of May and around 4.2% a year ago.

Kazakhstan (18.1%), Russia (11.2%) and Canada (9.6%) were other leading destinations for bitcoin miners, according to the hashrate data.

3739  Other / Archival / Re: FTX - Derivatives Exchange. My Review on: October 14, 2021, 05:41:09 AM
FTX’s critics might be missing the argument on what FTX really is for the cryptospace. We have not witnessed an exchange that is operated and maneuvered on this type of level before. We should expect bigger growth and on a level where we as users can say that FTX is the Google or Amazon of the cryptospace. A level where it will be too high for Binance to reach. Those FTT tokens will be more than $1000 in 3 years hehehe.

Binance, the world’s largest crypto exchange by volume, was an early investor in crypto exchange FTX, which 29-year-old Sam Bankman-Fried founded in 2019. This week, the investment relationship suddenly ended. In an extensive interview with Decrypt, Bankman-Fried discussed why.

“We recently repurchased shares from Binance to buy them out of our cap table,” Bankman-Fried said. “I think it just makes sense given the role that our businesses are playing in the space. It can also give us more flexibility going forward.”

On Tuesday, FTX announced a $900 million raise from 60 high-profile investors including Sequoia, Paradigm, Softbank, Paul Tudor Jones, and NFL quarterback Tom Brady and supermodel Gisele Bündchen. It was the largest ever funding round for a crypto exchange, valuing FTX at a cool $18 billion.

@impulse709. George Soros is the rich man who did not bet on the pound, he bet against the pound hehehe. He also did this with the Japanese Yen and the Thai Baht through his fund called The Quantum Fund. It appears they are always there finding weaknesses in different markets and shorting billions against them. It would not he very shocking if he begins shorting when the cryptospace bubble bursts.
