37362  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [∞ YH] solo.ckpool.org 0.5% fee anonymous solo bitcoin mining! 60 blocks solved! on: May 29, 2015, 03:38:57 AM
rough math 5btc mining for 1 day is about 500th for 24 hours. if you rent at  0.0099 to  0.0102 a th.

the chance of 1 block  =  20%
the chance of 2 blocks =   4%
the chance of 3 blocks = 0.8%

next diff adjustment the chance will improve a tiny bit since we are going negative.
37363  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Antminers S5 "miner status screen" is blank! Help!!!! on: May 29, 2015, 03:25:06 AM
Hey guys Id appreciate any help I can get.

I have 2 antminers S5 that i got just 2 weeks ago, and after trying out the first week on F2POOL, I decided to try out different pools.
I tried out btcguild, but the luck its runnig the past couple of days is horrible. So I decided to go back to F2POOL but as i applied and saved the pool changes, the miner status screen just went blank only showing blank spaces. And also it doesn't seem to accept any pools.

Please help me. Id appreciate any advice.

Thanks!

the 2 most likely issues are:

 your pool settings are wrong
next the pool you are trying to connect to is wrong

try this setting

stratum+tcp://mmpool.org:3333
philipma1957.B
d=1200

if it hashes stop hashing for me and try to write your pool settings over again.

..... Bitmain never responded to my last couple emails so I'll have to hit them up again soon. ..

I can't blame them for not responding given the depressed value of BTC of recent .... and seeing you are no where near a sellable product it'd be a simple case of asking them to speculate on the possibility of selling a certain size batch to you.
Saying that, labelling them unethical in their practices may already have put paid to any possibility of getting a decent sized batch of chips from them at a competitive cost, if ever (even if at all!) you came up with a real challenger to their very own S5 design .... and who'd blame them.

when did sidehack label them.  I do not recall that in any of his threads.

Bitmaintech was not and is not terrible or unethical .

As of this moment pretty much the best asic company in the game.

i have free power, but dont have a miner and dont reside in the states.

Maybe we can expand to some other countries idea is to see if we get it going in the USA.

I can do escrow in USA pretty easy.

What country are you?

I saw the following, and thought a link here would be interesting:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1072474.0

I think we'll see the impact of this in the near future, which will mean a positive increase in difficulty.  Sad

@Phil: You might to amend the title to say picks are closed.

An amendment to the above. When I asked in that thread, the poster responded that the gear was NOT new, but rather they were relocating. So my original thought though that it would  up the long term hashrate was incorrect. It is though, several Petahash that's offline for a while during their move. Hence some of the "variance" we see could be physical location churn of hardware, as well as Bitcoin luck/variance. I'll take it while I can get it, but they "will be back...." (said with Arnold's voice).

they have 3 cent power add.5 cent and they are 3.5 cents at worse. the s -3 is  .8 watts a.gh  the sp20 can approach  .4 watts

so to be on an even playing  field you would need 8 cent power.

I think this kind of move means very little diff growth due to new gear.

It appears building a new farm and moving your old gear is better $ move to make then designing a new s-7.

If I were bitmaintech I will be moving 1 valley north from this build .  my 7 or 8 cent farm will be a 3 or 4 cent farm

moving good gear in trucks to a new place at have the power .  the 2015 mantra where is the cheap power?
37368  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: suggest me a cloud mine on: May 28, 2015, 06:36:44 PM
hi..
i just see lots of miners address on blockchain.info
i tried to register of eobot and kc miner but they say to pay fee and install a software on your pc.

my question..
1.cant i have that i pay the fee only and i don't need to install a s/w on my pc/laptop and keep it running all day.

suggest me any mining site in which there is no need of my pc/laptop.
i am willing to join under your ref..
please explain me in detail if i am wrong in any part.
thank you.. Kiss

go to nicehash or westhash

rent 5th for as little as 0.01 btc point it at your mining site of you choice in under 1 minute you will be mining.

the advantage is  short term flexible and you can cancel whenever you want.

BTW I linked my info below. In my signature and that is an unpaid for signature this is how much I like nicehash and west hash  to rent and mine at ckpool

Bitwisdom keeps looking better and better:

Bitcoin Difficulty:    48,807,487,245
Estimated Next Difficulty:    47,469,564,887 (-2.74%)

we had a mad spike at the end.  last time.  I am hoping we have a strong drop here.  maybe -4%

37371  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Ckpool Solo Setup mark 2 - An alternative on: May 28, 2015, 03:48:29 PM
I understand that but u have to remember version 2.0 usually has a few thing taken into consideration that 1.0 hasn't...

Like i think phil had worked with ck to send the coins direct to miners for a small extra fee, Which would mean he wouldn't have to be trusted with this at all..

I'm sure in the time it takes to get 10 people on board i can have the same arrangement.

Its already in my list of things for 2.0 (Takes the worry trust things out of my hands) Problem solved..

After I hit the 2 blocks in and had 50 coins.  I dished out 45 coins to 9 miners.

I made arrangement for the next round to have ck give us a mining address. And he would dish out the coins. (for an extra fee) .

Then the forum crashed so I decided I did not want to do this anymore. I went with the quit while you are ahead method.

I know ck told me he did not want a lot of miners in the pool in each round (10 or less).  We agreed to that but never went any further due to the forum hack.

In principle the idea is nice but when you do the work it is hard.

Part of the reason the idea worked was I never paid a lot to hash as  I sat on the  2 sites West-Nice  and paid very low rates.
BOTS are good when you sleep but when you monitor on your own it is better then the bots.
I ran 20.5 btc in 3 rounds  and 7 btc with aurel57 at first  a grand total of 27.5 coins.
I never paid more then 0.0105 a th many times as low as 0.0095 a th.  this means more hours minings giving a better chance to hit.
The biggest problem other then dealing out the coins is keeping costs down. I did this by giving a lot of free labor.
37372  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: New Hardware June 2015? on: May 28, 2015, 03:39:32 PM
What is BEST hardware for someone new?  And why?

A question back what does your power cost>

If you are under 5 cents consider a used s-3.

If you are over 15 cents you will most likely lose no matter what you buy.

So the best miner becomes how much do you want to lose.
What does noise mean to you?
What is resale value?

In the 5 cent to 8 cent  zone  I would say an s-3  if you are a complete beginner. why? it is under 100 +  a psu

you can learn mining on a decent machine.

if you are are 8 to 11 cents and noise matters get the spondoolies sp20 and down clock it to keep it quiet.

from 11 to 15 cents and you do not care about  a loud miner the s-5 is okay.
37373  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] BitcoinMaxProfit.com - 0.30$ per GHS! - Automatic Trade! Paypal/Skrill on: May 28, 2015, 03:01:34 PM
Site  is still down.

Most likely a scammer.

Also I am quite disappointed in Carra23   he asked me for months to sell my signature.  He then gave me this person with a really good signature deal.

When I take a signature on I try to check the company out.  A simple 15 dollar contract and I realized this BitcoinMaxProfit was not someone to sell a signature to.

I cancelled the signature deal But kept the 15 dollar contract so I could report back on this company.

Results are very simple I lose 15 bucks.

I mark Carra23 as a mediocre promoter as best.---------Pushed this deal on me with a lot of pm's.

Quite frankly  very annoying.

I also mark BitcoinMaxProfit as a scammer.

Hopefully due to my actions this guy just gave up and no one was burned on the big contracts.

I'm interested to uprate some of my undervolted S1s, summer has arrived and heat is not anymore needed.
Do You have a deal for big patch of chips?

be patient hold on to the s-1's and he will have the upgrade kit ready for you and me and a lot of other people.
37375  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: May 17th to May 30th diff adjustment thread with promo. Picks closed on: May 28, 2015, 11:27:04 AM
Read the link. seems like the s-3 will still earn money!

a 1 ph farm of s-3's    using .035 cents per kwatt  earns 1737 usd a day.

they may be at 0.025 cents and earn 1929 usd a day.

this farm would still earn up until the halfing.

How will this affect diff.  My guess is stable diff until 50 days or 100 days before the halfing .

I do not know what to think the halfing will do.

37377  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: What's the best hardware, that's not vaporware? on: May 28, 2015, 03:33:03 AM
If you have very cheap power the antminer s-3 may be 'better'.

Ie if your power is under 6 cents the s-3 may be more cost effective then the s-5.

Basically:

 2 s-3s can do  800 watts and  1000gh cost =  170
 1 s-5  can do  625  watts and 1200gh cost = 383

If your power  cost is low  enough the s-3 could be better.

I saw the current stat's on speed but not sure how to tell with that pool if your hitting blocks.   Neat idea of you to share it though thanks for doing it.

37380  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Do high end Power supplies need surge protectors? on: May 28, 2015, 01:06:17 AM
I ordered the EVGA 220-T2-1600-X1 its the highest model.Ill be powerin 2 antminer S5's with it. the specs say:

Heavy-duty protections, including:
OVP (Over Voltage Protection)
UVP (Under Voltage Protection)
OCP (Over Current Protection)
OPP (Over Power Protection)
SCP (Short Circuit Protection)
OTP (Over Temperature Protection)

does this mean i dont need a surge protector and can just plug directly into an outlet?

Sorry, dont know a lot about power supplies....

What volts do you feed it ? 120 or 240?

that psu works far better on 240 watts.

So if you are feeding it 120 you are better off with the evga 1300  model.

as for surge protection I have whole house  protection installed at my circuit box
