3741  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How has SEC contributed to the blockchain industry? on: June 09, 2022, 02:24:55 PM
So right now, USDT could be not backed again, nobody would know. This is why I believe that they are basically extorting money from the bad companies to keep on scamming us and nothing more, not helping us at all.
How will they prove that cryptocurrencies are bad? For example, what Luna[1] did more harm to Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies than drug and arms trade issues.

Unfortunately, cryptocurrencies are one of the biggest reasons for the failure of the blockchain economy and the centralized economy, and therefore the increased investment in these currencies gives governments sufficient regulatory reasons.

If people stop investing in these currencies or keep investing in bitcoin, most of our problems will be over.

3742  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Electrum 4.2.2 Released on: June 09, 2022, 02:02:17 PM
Electrum 4.2.2 fixes a vulnerability that can be exploited on some Windows+SMB configurations. Please upgrade if you have not done so already.

So it's an offline brute-force attack against the user's Windows account password.
I don't know, but even after obtaining the Windows password, how will the hacker be able to steal the coins?
Or is he talking about the wallet password.
3743  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How has SEC contributed to the blockchain industry? on: June 08, 2022, 10:52:19 AM
SEC and other organizations and impartial investigative parties are working to ensure that investors are not deceived as a result of the emotional investment resulting from the rapid profit that is being portrayed in social media.

Binance takes advantage of novice investors and others by listing some currencies, helping to promote them and then selling at a point that leads to all beginners losing their money. If this model is done in agreement with the platform, the authorities will investigate such violations, just as happened in the recent scam related to Luna.

As for the blockchain, it is decentralized and therefore it is difficult to impose government control over it, but the more we have strong central platforms and they are investigated, the faster we develop.
3744  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Old Version For Cold Storage on: June 08, 2022, 10:19:56 AM
I'll upgrade. I just don't like touching the cold storage machine, just in case...

Personally, I would prefer to read the features of the update, and if I do not need it, there is no need to update that wallet.

In any case, when you update, remember to keep your cold storage as  "air-gapped" (it has not been connected to the Internet and will not be connected) and therefore download the latest version using tails[1] or any Linux versions, when you need to sign a transaction.

3745  Economy / Economics / Re: Uncertanity and fear in economics and clarity how to stay calm on: June 08, 2022, 09:58:13 AM
Fear and greed are what drives retailers who may change prices completely.

Thus, many people use it to manipulate prices and often follow some tactics that may be released in short, inflating the snowball.
Do not forget that the economy acts as an engine gear, and therefore understanding it I was careful, trying to manipulate those gears may lead to great failure, and therefore governments do not resort to continuing rumors for long periods.

The derivatives market is what moves the markets, but it is the spending rate of the middle class that actually moves the economy.
3746  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Scam from Google Form, Crypto Donate. on: June 08, 2022, 09:33:32 AM
Unfortunately, the marketing model that these sites rely on is that everyone has the perception that earning in bitcoin is fast and free, and that some sites give you $40 for free if you log in.
Thus, a non-crypto user will not differ much between $40 and 0.4 BTC (despite the difference in value).

Google does not want to fight such scam, so scammers may even use Google ads to promote scam.

Do not publish the email publicly, and random clicking on links.
3747  Other / Off-topic / Re: Skepticism should yield Knowledge on: June 08, 2022, 09:19:55 AM
Doubt and uncertainty come after making a decision and then it will be good because you will learn from your mistakes, but doubt even before investing and fear is meaningless.

I remember that many friends sold Bitcoin as soon as they were afraid, and therefore you should start investing your money, you are not afraid of losing it, and then the uncertainty phase begins in choosing the best strategy.

Generally, you can get crazy if you think about short term scenarios so buy and think long term.
3748  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to avoid crippling losses when trading? on: June 08, 2022, 09:10:31 AM
I think your plan will be good in a bear market condition when you can anticipate price movements using points of support and resistance and then build a trading strategy on that basis.

In the current situation, uncertainty prevails, and therefore all the current support and resistance points are psychological and cannot be relied upon. For example, we have stayed for a period of time from $33,000 to $25,000, but they are only psychological levels.
If you put the stop loss strategy at 25k, breaking it does not mean that the price may collapse severely, and therefore the only point we have is the levels of 20k.

In short, the current situation is not suitable for short-term trading, but only for buying.
3749  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: How to go about becoming an OTC broker? on: June 08, 2022, 08:47:26 AM
My biggest challenge right now is finding out more about the OTC market (how it works, where it operates, and how to make connects/form a network). Can you (or anyone) help me out on this front?
It is not a market, but a direct transaction between two parties, and in this case, you are looking for someone who sells large quantities of Bitcoin according to terms that you both agree on.

Binance gives the minimum OTC trade with more than 10K USD and then Following their TOS determines how the transaction takes place, a lot of OTC trading starts from 10 bitcoins up to 250 bitcoins or more that make place like this orders on exchanges impossible due to the lack of sufficient liquidity at the same moment or you are forced to place several orders at different prices.

The majority of OTC (“desk” ) run mining farms and therefore there is no specific buying base.
If you add information such as the country, how many bitcoins you want, how to pay, we may be able to give you better options.
3750  Other / Meta / Re: Not sure where to ask this. So lets try here. on: June 08, 2022, 08:28:26 AM
How do I close old alt accounts that I can't access?
I remember that if you recover the password via email, your account will be closed/locked, so ask the administrator to restore access to those accounts and then close them using your email or ask them admin to do it directly.

But if you want to delete your account (hide all posts), then if you have a good reason for that, it will be deleted even though I think your posts are good and worth reading.
3751  Economy / Economics / Re: Crashes are The Best Times to Get Rich - Robert Kiyosaki on: June 05, 2022, 09:27:44 AM
I respect Robert T Kiyosaki but I think his current view is not accurate, if you wait for the bottom you won't get it. The chances of reaching 11k or 17k are very difficult compared to returning to the heights of 40 thousand, so I think that the reason for this prediction is to follow the same approach that happened in 2018 when the price fell after a month of stability.

Things in the world are still ambiguous, but by the end of the year we will witness good rises, and therefore expecting a bottom beyond 20k is difficult.

What would happen if your site suddenly disappeared?

We take privacy and security very seriously.

Unfortunately your project will not be supported because you are talking about privacy data collection, storage and yet you don't have a legal/privacy team even you said you didn't write the privacy page yourself.

There is no policy to determine how data is shared, who can delete it, who can view it, what happens if there is a breach and so on.
Making it open source will not help much, but making it self-hosted and with the possibility of the user managing his data.

In general, focusing on privacy is not a commercially profitable thing, so if you are trying to make a profit from your project, it will be a difficult thing.
3753  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] Best Bounty & Signature Campaign Managers list on Bitcointalk. on: June 04, 2022, 12:57:09 PM
Is this thread for merits? Huh There are many similar topics and therefore creating more of them will be considered as spam.

You also need to modify the fonts, they are misleading and I do not think that you will attract the attention of the reader, modify the design and reorganize the images and their size, and then your topic may be distinguished from other similar topics.

Generally, with all due respect to the members above but you need to give a reasonable assessment to all the managers (price, speed of communication, trust, number of campaigns managed, value, activity, ..etc) and then you can rank them accordingly.
3754  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Free price and volume analysis tool on: June 04, 2022, 12:10:41 PM
Since the project is free and not for commercial use, making it open source would be a good thing or source data.
I was hoping you would add a night mode because many of us prefer it.

Schemes and updating them work well, but they are not different from trading view charts, adding more tools will increase interest in your project, but as a start, it is a good start, especially since the hosting works smoothly and quickly.
3755  Economy / Economics / Re: The Fed's purpose of "QT" or Quantitative Tightening. on: June 04, 2022, 08:09:43 AM
It is almost impossible to predict the Fed’s policies in the coming period, especially during the second and third quarters of this year, but it seems that we will face it.

Either consider inflation as the problem and start withdrawing liquidity and raising interest rates, or trying to accelerate the economy to push it away from recession as the main problem.

In any case, we are facing a state of uncertainty and therefore a lot of markets will be very turbulent during the next few months, and some random variables such as closings in China, food and energy situation will complicate a lot of calculations.

Therefore, you cannot say that the scenario you mentioned will come true.
3756  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Excessive Elektrum Fees on: June 04, 2022, 08:02:23 AM
Hi all, I'm trying to send some BTC from my Elektrum wallet and I'm getting a minimum 15% fee and up to 2200% fees for the transaction. I first tried with the previous version and upgraded to the new version and get the same fee scale. Does anyone have any information about what might be going on? I'm on a computer with Windows 10. TIA!

I don't know how you calculated these percentages, but it is not how Bitcoin works or calculating transaction fees. It does not depend on the amount of money, but rather the number of input and output addresses, and the type of addresses.

Does your transaction have a lot of inputs? In other words, are you receiving a lot of small payments, running a faucet or receiving a lot of transactions?

In general, if you do not have a lot of input, and your addresses started with bc1, you will not pay a lot of fees.
3757  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Global untraceable phone calls - is it still a good idea? on: June 04, 2022, 07:39:14 AM
If you mean about the technical aspects related to accepting payments with Bitcoin or using the Lightning Network, then BTCpayserver[1] made all these things possible with zero fees and no need for that technical knowledge, so I don't think you will face a problem in this regard.

As for WebRTC as a service, I do not expect to get a high return here, but it will be good if you consider it a side project and may cover your basic costs with some profits.

Generally, you can try it. It's something new, but if you can provide a service to call/text to/from regular phone numbers or rent them, you will find more interest.

3758  Other / Meta / Re: How to change a text font within the forum on: June 04, 2022, 07:09:19 AM

I can confirm fonts do look different in Brave browser for me as well, and it seems to be affected by fingerprint blocking.

I had the same problem several days ago, I do not know the reason for its appearance because I did not update the browser, but I did some updates to the operating system, so I think it is the cause of the problem.

I tried to find a solution, and did not find any. I opened a message with Brave support and I did not find any response.

Was anyone able to fix it? The forum works fine on the rest of the browsers.
3759  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Question about Elrond EGLD vs Solana SOL on: June 03, 2022, 02:23:58 PM
Elrond EGLD, Solana SOL and other central networks have gained momentum with the transfer of applications (DeFi) to them, as their decentralized platforms are fast and do not need a lot of money in gas, but at the present time there are questions about proving the stake as being feasible, and therefore I think that more people will prefer currencies with proof of work more than proof of stake .

Don't forget that Ethereum will move to Proof of Stake in August, and if it succeeds, most altcoins will lose their popularity, so the money may not flow to them.

And finally the state of the market and the end of the hybrid that accompanied SOL with stories like what happened with Luna.
3760  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are you filling your bags? on: June 03, 2022, 02:09:54 PM
Unfortunately, the opposite happened to me and it is the worst thing that could happen right now as I needed the money now and unfortunately I put most of my money into a side project so I had to sell some Bitcoin at a price of a thousand dollars, in general, although I sold it at a profit, I still keep most of the coins I bought In the years 2017, 2018-2019.

I hope to buy more next year but I can't buy much this year.
