What r the main differences between Internet 1.0 and 2.0?

Internet 1.0 is "centralised" with a DNS system and the CA cert system and the use of "big servers" to provide "centrally controlled" applications such as say Banking, Google or Facebook.

Internet 2.0 is "decentralised" with no DNS system (the reason I don't like unique aliases) and no centralised CA cert system as well as no centralised big servers running such services.

The internet 2.0 sounds impractical for big bandwith usage, or am i wrong?

Maybe use 1.0 for all the dataintensive stuff and 2.0 for the sensitive stuff?
3742  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [BLTZ] [IPO Hybrid] BlitzCoin | proof of concept coin | pure speculative on: April 06, 2014, 03:12:42 PM
Everybody and me included looking for a coin to get profit.Unfortunatly this coin is just waste of time and money for the electricity.I don`t beleive that the price of this coin will go over 150 sat.Only the people who had millions will earn from this.Just pitty

well, actually I don't really see a problem here. Mining phase is already over, so you wont waste energy anyway Smiley If this coin goes to a serious exchange it will be heaven for speculators ^^

You realize if noone mines this coin, than everyone can 51% attack it?

I do not understand that Exo on so little interest encounters! Until now only 78 pages?

So am I. I dont understand why so many people invest at first ipo, its amazing that there are 175 BTC.

Because of dev always offline, no people want to post here.  Shocked

Do you want the dev to communicate the whole day here or do some work on the code?

You can't have both. I rather have a solid product and a silent dev, than a shitty product but a dev that talks all day...

starter
A quick, easy to use and powerfull crowfunding tool for the NXT community

NXTstarter is almost ready, help us to success :

Marketing Commity : https://nxtforum.org/marketing-committee/%28mc%29-nxtstarter/
General Discution : https://nxtforum.org/general-discussion/%28ann%29-nxtstarter-initial-funding/

While i think this project is nice, I am a bit skeptic, that your numbers will match reality. Within 2 years 2% of all NXT will have to go through your platform. While possible, i doubt it. Care to convince me?

In the realworld, crowfunding websites are also not very successful.

Change log:

Fractional asset quantities. Enjoy another reset of testnet.

When issuing an asset, the maximum allowed number of digits after the asset
quantity decimal point can be specified as "decimals" parameter (allowed
values 0 to Cool. For example, this would be 2 for a currency like EUR, 8 for
Bitcoin.

Similar to prices, asset quantities can be specified either as quantityQNT,
expressed in the smallest possible quantity unit ("quant") for the specific
asset, or as quantityINT, expressed in whole asset units (which may however
contain a fractional part despite its name).
For example, 9.97 USD can be expressed as either quantityINT="9.97", or
quantityQNT="997", assuming decimals=2 for USD.

JSON responses containing quantities or asset balances are again returned in
both quantityINT and quantityQNT, as strings.

When placing an ask or bid order, if quantityQNT is specified, the price is
interpreted to apply to QNT quantity units (regardless of whether the price
itself was specified in NXT or in NQT). If quantityINT is specified, the
price is interpreted to apply to INT quantity units.
For example, a bid order for quantityQNT="300", priceNXT="2", for asset USD
will be interpreted as $3.00 at 1 cent = 2 NXT, i.e. 200 NXT for one dollar,
600 NXT total.
If parameters are submitted as quantityINT="7", priceNXT="50", the order will
be for $7.00 at 50 NXT for one dollar, 350 NXT total.

Internally order matching and tracking of account asset balances is always
done in quantityQNT. An unfortunate side effect for now is that when placing
an order using quantityINT, the calculated price in NQT for one QNT unit must
be an integer.
So you cannot place an order for quantityINT="1", priceNXT="10.12345678"
(or equivalently priceNQT="1012345678"), because then the price of one
quantityQNT will be 10123456.78 NQT. The priceNXT will have to be either
10.12345600 or 10.12345700. If this is confusing, specify the order as
quantityQNT="100", priceNQT="10123456".

3748  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin price vs. hash rate? on: April 06, 2014, 03:23:16 AM
With this difficulty level bitcoin price should be at $900 range. Most miners are not making money in mining.

agreed, currently it's probably a better bet to buy coin than mining gear.

there was NO SINGLE point in time, where buying hardware was better than buying coins. Bet this will not change ever Wink

Damn! I never knew that, but yes it makes sense.

If only a quick time-trip to 2010 was possible. Buy 1000 BTC and cold wallet them on an engraved stainless steel sheet, bury it and time travel back.

Well I suppose we can pretend we are time travelling back from 2018.

exactely. I don't think we are anywhere near a alltime high. Before 2018 we will hit 5 digits. All fundamental analysis says that.
3749  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Create false/fake transaction blocks and earn 25 BTC? on: April 06, 2014, 03:04:29 AM
You dont get More blocks. This is 100% depending on your hashrate. But less off your Blocks get orphaned because they are smaller and faster transmitted.

Many people tried to calculate if including txs that ha e a fee is actually positive EV,and most calculations agree that it is, but txfeefree transactions can never be +EV inmy opinion!
3750  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: Options trading thread on: April 06, 2014, 02:34:38 AM
I expect that in all likelihood the outcome will be unambiguous (and not in my favor), but we shall see.

I try to remain as neutral as possible in all escrow transactions.  My job is to ensure that the agreement is executed per the negotiated terms, and not to encourage a fair deal or protect either party from entering into a deal that isn't advantageous for them.

That being said, now that the escrow is funded and everyone seems to understand exactly what their risk exposure is, I'll mention that I can't help hoping that smooth gets a significant amount of the escrow.  The more of the escrow that smooth receives, the higher the exchange rate has risen, and the more that my personal bitcoin holdings are worth.  I suspect that the vast majority of the bitcoin community is hoping that smooth does really well in this transaction.

Hehe, actually i am also rooting for smooth. I have significant holdings, and a post 700 price would be great for my personal finances. Not losing any money in this agreement will lessen my pain though Wink

3751  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Create false/fake transaction blocks and earn 25 BTC? on: April 06, 2014, 02:31:55 AM
It is not true that a block without transactions has no advantage. If you broadcast a block with 0 transactions, the size is very small, so it gets broadcast a second or so faster. This leads to less orphans. If the percentage rate of orphaned blocks goes down more than the transaction fees bring, than it would be wise to not include transactions. (this is from a pure +EV perspective).

Economically speaking, it is NOT wise for ANY miner to include 0 fee transactions.

Calling everyone who criticise Nxt a troll is not a good idea, I think.

Solarion raised a valid (and recurring point) here, as well as BrianNowhere did. Yes, the way how he communicates is not nice, but I can understand this, as he lost his money. (even if it was his fault) If we want Average Joe to use Nxt (no, not the Joe from bitcointalk, but the Joe from Facebook), we need to make it foolproof. This takes some time, but instead of arguing, the developers should keep improving the clients to make it more user friendly as they are doing it ny by releasing new versions again and again.

That is a valid point, but this is a decentralised community, someone must take command to do something? Why don't you write OP and tell him to rephrase the OP? I am 100% sure he will do this, as he has done many times before on request Smiley

I did. The current structure was made when I asked him to reorganize it. But it seems, that is still not ok like this.

Ok. Thank you for taking the lead! We need abunch more guys like you!

There is a section for investments: "Securities"

NRS is NXT Smiley So it's understandable why it's the main link everywhere. Clients are just GUI interfaces that interact with NRS server. NRS server comes with default "client" that user can use at 27.0.0.1:7875 .. If it didn't include that default client, no one would be confused.

Meh, it is more like bitcoinD and bitcoin QT. You download both but they are independent. The forgers will know or atleast will try to find out what they need to do, but for newbs the serve+its interface is redundant. We have the java server , that is our bitcoinD, but we are missing a bitcoin QT, our NRS interface is only a quick and dirty fix, imo.

Maybe he's trying to build up fresh reputation to gain trust for a new bitcoin project of fun and adventure!

Without paying everyone back? I don't think so. Cool
Actually, in this world full of gullible people, it works exactly like this.

He would probably say he needs to do this new project to raise the money to repay everyone, people would follow, he would pay a few out to gain more trust, the when he has a few thousand invested, would run off again.

I wouldn't even be mad then, that would be fucking impressive!
3759  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NXT :: descendant of Bitcoin - Updated Information on: April 05, 2014, 06:59:16 PM
<sigh>

The level of arrogance here is repulsive.

Change this:

I just snapped that btw so don't tell me noobs aren't being led to a sh1t client.

yes but you said that the OP doesn't say anything about alternative clients, and there is a link with a full collection of all.

We will obviously not remove the link the core server client?!?

I didn't actually. Can you provide a quote of me saying that? I won't hold my breath.

If I'd known the client I was downloading was so poorly written it'd display someone else's account number so readily I'd have been more careful or downloaded a superior client.

n/m pretty sure I'm wasting my time with this mess of a coin. I'll move on to the next 100% premine.

I am sorry this wonderful coin isn't fit for you.

You will surely find a coin that suits you.

Take care buddy
