3741  Other / Politics & Society / Re: A U.S drone was hitting by a Russian Jet. on: March 15, 2023, 03:59:17 PM
Seems to me from the stories I’ve read that they were trying to capture the drone? It’s hard to tell. I’ve seen articles where they make it seem like this was an accident and I’ve read articles that this was a clever way to gather our technology. Regardless of the true reason, this does appear to be another escalation towards WWIII. I think the only thing left to make it official is for China to choose sides and engage in military action.
3742  Economy / Speculation / Re: 26k mark finally breached on: March 15, 2023, 03:54:51 PM
I don't think investors need to worry about the dips because it is an opportunity to buy more bitcoins and many investors can use that moment to their advantage. They realize that they can buy bitcoin at any price but still wait for the price to decrease, reaching a low price, and then buy it.

We definitely want to buy when the price drops, but the price is not always what we want because the market will always change and we need to adapt. This March might give more hope as the price can return to $24k after waiting in the last month. But we also have to be careful because there is no guarantee that the price will stay at $24k. Meanwhile, the price can move anywhere.

I agree that long term investors should be buying now. Traders are in for some pain though. The market volatility is going to likely increase now that Bitcoin seems to be bucking the global trend of declining asset values. It’s going to be a battle to continue increasing in price, especially if global economic conditions continue to worsen. So far the performance has been impressive though.
3743  Economy / Services / Re: [FULL] ChipMixer Signature Campaign | Sr Member+ on: March 15, 2023, 03:52:27 PM
unfortunately, my dream of becoming a participant in the cm campaign will not be fulfilled. Undecided Cry

http://chipmixer.com/

It’s almost as if maybe this wasn’t the most legal service and perhaps it’s participants were advertising illegal money laundering services for profit. I wonder what sort of punishment one thinks is fair for promoting illegal money laundering schemes? My guess is those doing so will play victims and attack anyone who brings up their promotion of illegal activities for profits.
3744  Other / Archival / Re: Is there a chance we get a takedown notice? on: March 15, 2023, 03:49:01 PM
It's funny when trolls reveal their hate on mixers. They never understood privacy, and most never will.

Do you still consider the warnings of those who were against illegal money laundering schemes to be trolling? I received a bit of pushback for sounding warnings BEFORE chipmixer was shut down by authorities while others here were pretending everything was fine so they could collect a check. Has your opinion changed at all or is this the big bad government infringing on your privacy?
3745  Other / Meta / Re: We can not discuss if 'ChipMixer is a honeypot or not' outside their own thread? on: March 15, 2023, 03:46:05 PM
You don't have to either promote money laundering or force everyone to operate in a vast draconian infrastructure.
No, you do.

I guess we can agree to disagree.  I'll continue not promoting money laundering and advocating for protocol level fungibility, not fungibility that depends on a 3rd party breaking the law and users being participants in that choice to break the law by using said third party.  That is not the vision I had (not that anyone gives a fuck) for blockchain privacy.  It will only lead to more regulation and honeypot attacks on community members just trying to have privacy, who like you, thought this was a legal and reasonable option to use because the moral police on bitcointalk were promoting it.

Well, this is awkward. Can’t say I didn’t see it coming and try to steer people in the right direction. I got a bunch of trust exclusions for my efforts. If anyone feels like apologizing feel free.

https://www.coindesk.com/policy/2023/03/15/germany-and-us-seize-over-46m-crypto-tied-to-chipmixer-investigation-europol/

I guess maybe I wasn’t a crazy person sounding off about the dangers of Chipmixer and how those advertising for it were maybe not the most upstanding members of our community. Signature campaign managers are about to be flooded with requests…
3746  Other / Meta / Re: OgNasty is hacked!! on: March 15, 2023, 03:36:13 PM
LOL. I didn’t get hacked. I just upgraded my security a bit and felt the need to use fresh passwords with the new setup.

I am a bit shocked that me changing my password warrants anyone making a thread. I’m even surprised that anyone noticed. I wish people paid as much attention to the positive things I did as they do to me changing my password.

False alarm. Don’t worry, I’m still just as nasty as ever.

Edit: Someone claims in this thread that I’m a signer on the forum’s multisig treasury wallet. This is false. I am no longer employed by this forum.
3747  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 15, 2023, 03:31:49 PM
It feels like we’re at a bit of a dangerous point in the market here. We’ve bounced off the resistance level and appear to have seen lower lows in the short term. I think we’re still in a bull market, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see a pull back here before we blast 30K. I wouldn’t be short the market here, but it is starting to look like choosing your entry points might be helpful.
3748  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: March 15, 2023, 07:02:39 AM
When Anthon Davis is doing well, they can easily win the game and with the help of his teammates, it would be possible for them to maintain or get to the upper spot until the NBA playoffs. Every team that has the chance to get to the number 6 spot will really play hard to win their remaining games and so as the Lakers when LBJ will return. I think is a good idea to make him rest for a while since they were really getting more wins anyway and that's really pretty good but I think they want him to sync with the team so that they won't have any problem playing in the NBA playoffs.

I can't imagine how strong the Lakers are when AD won't be injury prone anymore and playing at this kind of level he's showing tonight. When AD becomes unstoppable, it would be much easier for his teammates to score anywhere on the floor. The trade was really a successful one as they have acquired someone who could legitimately drop 5+ 3s per game.
Can't really wait when LeBron comes back to the game, let's see how effective he is as a leader of this new Laker team.

With the kind of hard work AD is showing now, if he's not an injury prone star, we can say that Lakers will continue to be a good competitor for the world title.

I can say that with the good chemistries between him and whoever with him on the floor, it's a good advantage
using him as the main offensive guy, he can attract the defense and pass the ball to the open man to take the shot.

I don’t know about Anthony Davis and his ability to be consistent. It seems like just yesterday I was reading an article about how he wasn’t going to be able to fill his role. Today now everyone’s talking about how amazing he is. I think he’s a great player, but it’ll be a bit of luck if he can make it all the way to the NBA finals and stay healthy. Great performance either way. 35 & 17
3749  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Which is more paying? on: March 14, 2023, 06:28:20 PM
I suspect my forum income to be about that of a five dollar an hour job. Sure, posting on a forum and learning about bitcoin is a lot better than a minimum wage job, but as far as pay goes, you could definitely find more lucrative ways to support yourself than posting or selling things on an Internet forum. That being said, it is pretty cool that the forum pays anything at all.
3750  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Addiction Test on: March 14, 2023, 06:24:27 PM
I did it and here was my results:

Little or No Indication of Gambling Addiction

“Your answers suggest that there is Little or No indication that you are experiencing symptoms common among people with a gambling addiction. However, this quiz is no substitute for a proper diagnosis from a health care professional, and we would encourage you to schedule an appointment with your doctor or other mental health professional if you are concerned about your gambling.”

I only gamble for entertainment so it seems accurate enough to me.
3751  Economy / Speculation / Re: 26k mark finally breached on: March 14, 2023, 04:33:15 PM
I think Bitcoin hitting $30,000 by the end of the month is more likely than not.  I also think we may never see below $20K again, but those are always famous last words.  I'm sure we'll see a bit of profit taking before the next leg up, but when we do move up again I believe it will be a strong move that pushes up right against the $30K resistance level. The new bull market has begun and people are getting their seats reserved for the next rocket ride for the moon.  All aboard!
3752  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: March 14, 2023, 04:29:06 PM
The Ja Morant story just keeps getting crazier and crazier. Noow some are speculating he might be shut down for the season as he goes to counseling. Seems like he's doing it to try and save his Powerade deal but I think that ship has already sailed. Whatever he decides to do, I hope he gets himself figured out in time to return to the playoffs. What a shame this situation is for the Grizzlies who finally have a good team and were looking to make a deep playoff run this year. Steven Adams must be pissed off about the whole situation.
3753  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 13, 2023, 04:25:54 PM
This recent market strength has been impressive. You can tell that people are now using crisis as opportunity to grab themselves more BTC on the cheap. This is a pretty good sign that Bitcoin is currently undervalued and is being scooped up by investors. I wouldn’t be surprised if this strength carries us to $30K. It seems obvious the bottom for this cycle is in and a multi year bull market has begun.
3754  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: March 12, 2023, 07:12:12 PM
Some str*p clubs have been dropping Ja's image, I thought that it wasn't him but after looking at the images and the fan's comments, they all tell that it was him.
It's not an actual big thing right when someone goes in there and has some fun but in his case, he's an NBA player and that makes it sense for that establishment to drop his image. If I were Ja, I'll do something like sue the management by releasing that image.

However, Poole's production is not that important. What matters now is that the Warriors continue to win to secure a safe playoff spot.

I agree, they just need to remain consistent just as how they've won against Bucks.

It sure looked like him to me. I’ve never seen so many one dollar bills piled everywhere either that must’ve been one hell of a night. The backlash is still on coming though. It looks like Powerade has stopped airing his commercials and I expect that Coca-Cola will announce he’s being terminated from his contract very shortly. This is going to end up costing him hundreds of millions of dollars instead of just the 50,000 he threw on the floor that night.
3755  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Intel Tapes Out Chips on 1.8nm and 2nm Production Nodes on: March 12, 2023, 05:44:06 PM
I didn't realize the chip fabrication process has gotten down to 1.8nm.  I think while this may not directly lead to better miners, it does show that companies like Bitmain that are making top tier ASIC products for Bitcoin mining still have a ways to go before their efficiency hits a wall.  I guess this is a good thing as it means newcomers will continue to have ways to compete with established mining companies as more efficient miners should continue to be produced for several years to come giving new entrants an efficiency advantage over warehouses full of older hardware.
3756  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: March 12, 2023, 01:38:11 PM
We’ve got the Lakers versus the Knicks on ESPN tonight. The only nationally televised game of the day but it should be a good one as both teams are playing well. Over the last 10 games both teams are seven and three. Both are on the bubble as they say for the playoffs so you can bet there will be a lot of effort made to try and score a win.
3757  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🥊 The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: March 11, 2023, 07:48:23 PM
Dana White is most probably not the best person to handle UFC in my opinion.
the guy thinks about himself and the money, and it's very difficult to see complaints in other fight sports, so you could see that the problem is in the UFC. one day I saw an interview of a fighter complaining that they didn't have health insurance and many other things he complained about, I don't know if that's true or not, but if it's true, I wondered why the UFC doesn't pay health insurance to its fighters. your athletes? he no doubt is making a lot of money thanks to these fighters. maybe as a newbie I'm wrong

There are certainly a lot of things that a fighter does not get in the UFC. We are still talking about the fighters not getting paid enough because literally, a heavyweight champion of the UFC complained about that. Otherwise, a lot of people might actually think this is not true and this might not have been discussed so much as well.

I am never going to agree with the fact that the UFC is not making enough money. The UFC is making more than enough money and they can easily give the fighters a lot more if they want to.

Dana White is definitely not in it for the fighters. You have to respect what he built and the UFC is a money printing machine so he’s been quite successful. However, if his goal was to be the best boss and have the happiest fighters, I’m sure he would be paying them 10 times what he is and I don’t think it would have that much effect on the UFC’s bottom line. Their investors have made billions and their fighters have made tens of thousands. Seems unbalanced.
3758  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Is for the strong. on: March 11, 2023, 07:26:07 PM
You mentioned losses being overwhelming and asking how people feel. I think the big problem with gambling is that people expect to win. With expectations comes disappointment. The one way to make sure that you are enjoying gambling is to use it as entertainment. You place a bet on a game, you watch the game, and it’s more exciting because you have skin in the game. Making a bet hoping to win money because you need it is a bad situation that you don’t ever want to enter into.
3759  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: March 11, 2023, 06:43:53 PM
Now the streak of Jokic is over as the Spurs made an upset and won against the top seeded Nuggets. 2nd to the last seed won against the top seed? That's more upsetting than Hornets beating the Knicks on the road. First they lost against the Bulls on their home, and now they lost on the road against the Spurs. I have nothing to say, but just an upset.
Jokic had a triple double on this game, but since he lost, his streak of winning every game when he got a triple-double has ended now.
Anything can happen, though. Although the Denver Nuggets are a good team, the Spurs are a team that knows how to win. They have a winning culture under Coach Gregg Popovich but only lack talent because they are composed of young guns who, at the same time, play hard.

They may have a very bad record now, but as I said, they know how to win, and upsets are normal in sports.
It's just sad that the media are trying to hype a good team, which means an underdog team is underrated.

Embiid again came as the savior of the Philadelphia 76ers. Simons did well for the trailblazers. But yes it is true that the trailblazers actually choked. They actually should have had it in the bag. But they could not hold on to their nerves in the end. This match could have gone either way. Credit to the Philadelphia 76ers for being able to clutch the moment.

Spurs won against Denver Nuggets. This was honestly an upset. Of course, the team was underrated by a lot of people. And the media was also trying to hype up the better team. The match was actually a good one for Spurs. They had an overall good performance.

Definitely the Spurs game was the surise of the night.  I had them at +13 I didn't think they would win but they did.  I'm trying to find what the money line would have paid had to be huge.  Road team favored by double digits rarely ever works out.  I'm sure the Spurs fans wouldn't mind them losing more though

I hedged my other multibets by selecting the Spurs to win. Unfortunately, that was also a parlay bet that included the Portland trailblazers beating the 76ers. As it turns out Portland lost by one point to the 76ers so my insurance bet that would have paid off huge ended up missing by one point. That’s about how my bets have been going lately, but I still can’t resist the urge to make a massive score of a tiny bet.

I’ve started getting calls from friends, asking me how worried they should be about the current situation in crypto. I don’t know if that is a good thing as people are scared, and that signals the bottom, or if it is a horrible thing that we’re about to witness a global 2008 style collapse in all assets. My hope is that this is the time to buy when there’s blood in the streets but we will see.
