3741  Economy / Speculation / Re: What if bitcoin crash, could you put your money in another currency to be safe? on: March 08, 2017, 07:50:32 AM
For example, if bitcoin is going to crash and I exchanged it into $1200 Ethereum lets say. And it goes down to $800 USD, will the Ethereum value go down?

Could you exchange your bitcoin into another currency to be protected from a crash?
I think Coins like Doge, LTC , USDCOIN all of these are 99.9% stable always in the same price, 0.01% prob that you are very very very unlucky and it drop when you buy but I don't think it will happen.

What do you think ?

if bitcoin goes down to $800 you should buy as much as you can in my opinion because first of all it won't go that low second of all that would be a good opportunity to buy cheap coins before it goes back up.

but if you want to invest in other altcoins you certainly can but it is not wise at all to invest in altcoins such as ethereum that are manipulated and are getting pump and dumped.

p.s. you need to see some charts by the way because the prices of coins you named (i don't know what the hell USDCOIN is) have never been stable.
3742  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Mrai on a little exchange, will it go to a big one? on: March 07, 2017, 06:48:59 AM
I saw that Mrai is on cryptopia, i have some K of mrai and i see bigger intrest day after day on this coin, my answer is: is it too young to go to polo/trex? because if it's not (and it's my though) i will buy big at these price, only few sat.. (hope that btc stay at this price)
what do you think about it?

it is all about the daily trading volume. if it is good and high, that shows people are interested in the coin because obviously they are trading it and if it reaches the levels of standard by poloniex and bittrex, they will surely list it and the coin can grow bigger even.

with that said, i am not so familiar with this coin. i couldn't fin MRAI on anywhere!!
but doing some research i found RaiBlocks (XRB) is that the same coin?
if yes the volume in last 24 hours were 26.24 BTC and it looks like it is the first day of it being listed there! in that case this number is not so reliable. if it can keep it up for a month then we can expect more.
3743  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Best strategy for dice from faucet on: March 07, 2017, 06:38:00 AM
Faucets in gambling sites are very popular, gamblers can build levels and raise amount of free coins and very large number of players are actually using faucet to play dice. And i've seen players wining big from faucet.
What do you think, what is best strategy to use and win from faucet (since this is not actually your money and you can't lose it)?

Share your dice faucet strategy (if someone want to say it's waste of time/useless/any other mssg that is not faucet strategy etc please do it somewhere else thanks for understanding  Shocked)

well it is true! using faucet is a waste of time! faucet on a dice site is there so that you can test the website and see how it works, if it is fair, test features, test strategies, .... not for making money.
the only method i have seen to work is faucet farmers, i don't exactly know how it works but i have seen many users do it on primedice when i was playing there last year. i think they blocked them.

for the faucet strategy to work you have to find something that is more than 100-200 satoshi. for example a site that ranks you up and gives you 1000-2000 satoshi so you can make some better bets. (bitsler does that at level 2 i think at 1250 satoshi).
with that you can start making 100 satoshi bets with low chance of win but if you win you can make a bigger amount like 100,000 from 100 and then use that as a continuation of your strategy.
and remember we are talking about a long strategy so it consumes lots of time.
3744  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Which one would you invest in?? on: March 07, 2017, 06:30:52 AM
Let's say you have been given 1 btc to invest in the given altcoins which one would you invest and also how much will you invest.
Monero - 0.7 btc as the price is stable and has a pretty good growth last year.
Dash - 0.05 btc  I'm just scared if people gamble or trade with it so much it may end up being a dead coin
Eth - 0.1 btc as the price of it increases once a year
Zcash 0.05 btc I feel that this is some sort of scam
And the rest I would just let it remain in my wallet.

Litecoin: as my first investment because the price is stable and it has been showing growth up to $4 and also it has a good developers team and it also has a SegWit activation upcoming.

Monero: as a second choice since it has been around and the price is stable and it has kept up with bitcoin price rising despite all other coins being dumped.

dash: it is too late to get it. unless you want to day trade it with high risk and take advantage of the dips+rises. but the pump is over.

ETH: it is late to get it this coins too. you should have bought at 0.01BTC and when it went down to 0.007 if i remember it right. now it is in a bubble.

ZCash: no way. this is in a bubble also. and it is a dumping coin in general.
3745  Economy / Speculation / Re: Again Indian markets are leading. India buying bitcoins for ~$1500 on: March 07, 2017, 06:25:58 AM
If realy in india exchanger bitcoin price until reach 1500 dollar
i think india people can easy to take profit use arbitrage trading strategy

you can team work in youre friend from india, you buy in local exchanger and selling to youre friend from india

no that is wrong.
because simply put, if there was opportunity to do arbitrage trading, price wouldn't have been high in first place or didn't stay high at least. why do you think bitfinex and bitstamp and kraken and .... have the same price? it is not magic.
3746  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: How to get around Coinbase ban if you withdraw from (gambling) website on: March 06, 2017, 01:39:47 PM
first of all it is easy to figure out you are doing it since you are only using one address in the middle and they can even consider your address as one of the gambling site's addresses and ban you.

but the question is why even bother with this much headache. just buy from Coinbase, move to your desktop wallet and gamble with those funds. if you win just move to your desktop wallet and keep it there. this way even if Coinbase bans you, you haven't been keeping anything in their site.
3747  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Dash = Gambling ?? on: March 06, 2017, 01:23:40 PM
Recently many of you may have clearly noticed the big changes in price of dash it increased then decreased. I think the simple reason for this is a huge investors simply gambling with the coin by first investing some millions and then selling it and then again buying.
What do you guys think of my theory?
Would be a part of this gamble?

no you are wrong, mostly because you are one of those guys who are pushing the idea of "trading=gambling" and i strongly disagree with that whole idea.
this is just a simple case of a sudden big pump, and that is coupled with lots of spam-hype to push the price of Dash up and each time it is successful those who were hyping it, unload their bags they were holding on the market and crushing it until they are out.
3748  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mother of all spam attacks on bitcoin network! proof? on: March 06, 2017, 01:08:52 PM
Its not uncommon, people just focus too much on the first few blocks. With patients
way lower fees than 100 or 200 sat/b are possible. See e.g. cointape[1], 34k of todays
confirmed transactions paid 1-20 sat/b.

1) CPFP
2) ViaBTC/F2Pool/etc accelerators
3) Transactions with priority 57,600,000+ ( https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Transaction_fees )

None of these three reasons matches our case.
So. We do see that Bitfury has its own unknown reasons to prioritize transactions from 3QQB6AWxaga6wTs6Xwq8FYppgrGinGu15f

You can see that these transactions are placed in the beginning of the block.
So, they were prioritized in Bitfury mempool.

just a thought but have you checked the OP_RETURN part of these transactions to see what they are storing? they may be doing some sort of weird data storage thing on blockchain. although it is way too many transactions!

here is on:

3749  Economy / Speculation / Re: Here is my trading strategy in case that the ETF will be approved or rejected: on: March 06, 2017, 01:03:52 PM
SODL.

-30% chance of aproval : hmm i must hold because some dudes are telling me so.
-chinese exchanges opening again : hmm i must hold because some dudes are telling me so.
- bitcoin in overbought : hmm i must hold because some dudes are telling me so.

ALWAYS check the stats, charts and technical data yourself. Dont lissen to some dudes that only say HODL.

I never listen to the dudes that say HODL and i always miss profits by selling at the wrong time.
I sold 2 bitcoins 2 years ago, when the price was $300 and i still regret about that.
I simply just can`t hold and it`s my fault.

am i the only one who thinks what you said doesn't make sense?
you say i never listen to people saying HODL as in you lost money because of hodling then you say you sold. these things don't go together. you need to get your story straight Cheesy

anyways, if you are trading bitcoin short term then don't listen to this topic or any other just sell high and buy back low. but if you are not a trader then HODL is the best suggestion you can ever get.
3750  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will storing bitcoin kill it? on: March 06, 2017, 12:53:29 PM
If everyone start storing bitcoin and there is no single transaction for days, all miners will quite mining as without transaction there would be no reward.
Will it not kill bitcoin and make it useless?

miners are making money from the block reward not from fees. and if there were no transaction whatsoever, they will still find blocks which means they will still make money by receiving the 12.5BTC block reward. you can check blocks 1 to 100 to see this (these are most probably empty blocks)
in these blocks which were the first blocks ever created there were no transactions and there is only the block reward (coinbase transaction)
3751  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ethereum Is not Worth More than 5$-10$ on: March 05, 2017, 08:34:53 AM
well to be fair, in the beginning i found the project in general pretty interesting and i found some good features in it but as time passed by and i first encountered the massive scale spam on every single social media to hype pump the coin i started to resent it and when later on i found out more about bugs and in the end the fact that it is full of bugs and bad features i stopped liking it. now i say it should be worth so much less.

but this doesn't mean it will though. the whales that are pumping this coin are not yet done with it. they want to make a fortune and then get out to live a millionaire's life.

pump campaign

i love this word because it describes the situation perfectly.
i still have messages on my reddit account advertising ETH through mass messaging!
3752  Economy / Speculation / Re: Price of BTC - up about 150% in the past 12 months. Reasons? on: March 05, 2017, 08:14:09 AM
I would say just 2 major reasons.
1) Bitcoin was deeply undervalued
2) The hype about the ETF approval.

We should wait another week and then decide whether Bitcoin appreciation has been substantial or not.

dude OP is talking about the past 12 months, the hype of ETF approval is a recent crap that is flying around only these days (less than a month) and the 150% increase in one month is pathetically small rise for bitcoin. check the history sometime and see how big we were rising each year. there is actually a good reply in the second comment you can refer too and also you can check bitcoinwisdon or bitcoincharts to see the history of all the past 8 years.
3753  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 69,000 (69K) Unconfirmed Transactions! ....WTF...??? on: March 05, 2017, 08:04:24 AM
how soon can we get things right?

i don't expect anything anytime soon. miners revenue has gone up 530% because of the combination of price rise and fee rise to 200% what it was before and they are loving the spam attack so far.

why would they want to change anything!
3754  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Rumours That Dash Will Kill Bitcoin on: March 04, 2017, 07:44:24 AM
i have lost count of altcoins that were supposed to "kill bitcoin" or "replace bitcoin" etc. and each time i see one of these topics i either feel joy because i invested before the pump and topics like this tell me "sell as soon as possible" because the pump is nearly over and things are becoming unstable.
or i am sad because i missed a big ass pump.

in case of this topic it was the first happy feeling Grin
3755  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What Is Your Worst Moment in Gambling? on: March 04, 2017, 07:35:14 AM
A month ago, I have received my money came from another extra online job via paypal after 2 months of waiting, and then decided to exchange it to bitcoins and gamble all of it from sportsbetting hoping to double it in a faster way but unfortunately I lost all of my hard earned money in just an hour my bad, this is one of the worst moment, regret always come in end.

that is why it is said like a million times to gamble with money you can afford to lose.
i have had similar experiences but nowadays i always put a portion of my earning to gambling. for example if i get paid some money/bitcoin then i use a small portion of it to gamble and put the rest in my cold storage. and if i lost that money i wouldn't worry at all and if i won then even better, i withdraw the winning amount to my hot wallet and keep the initial amount to gamble more.
3756  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Price on 13 March 2017 on: March 04, 2017, 07:28:52 AM
I'm thinking if the ETF is approved, we will see the price reach nearly $1500 but there will be resistance.

On the other hand, what I am expecting, is for a drop to possibly below $1000 where it will quickly correct back to ~$1150 by Tuesday morning.

No matter the outcome, make sure you're strapped in for the ride!!  Grin Grin

By the time April comes around we will once again see a steady rise and be pushing $1400, even with the ETF failing to be approved.

i am starting to think that the ETF approval is going to be a dispointment, because when it is approved there is no "new money" coming in. it is the same old people and they have already bought and are waiting for taking their profit so it may not go up at all!

but if it is not approved, it will drop but i don't think $1000 resistance can be broken that easily.
3757  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I'm Hoarding Bitcoins, and No You Can't Have Any on: March 04, 2017, 07:12:51 AM
When the price is 10k$ per btc, it's a clear sign that a lot of people are using it already and merchants are already accepting it.

you do realize that this topic and what you said contradict each other, don't you?
when you keep hoarding your coins and never spend them and others start doing the same thing, then why the hell would a merchant start accepting bitcoin! there would be nobody who is willing to buy things from him with bitcoin!
and as a consequence bitcoin price will never be that high. and it would become a plaything that speculators play with in low prices to make profit. because you can make more profit when price goes from $100 to $120 and that rise is easier compared to rise from $10,000 to $12,000 (same profit).
3758  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Instant exchange transactions on trade sites? on: March 04, 2017, 07:06:52 AM
When I look at the online screens on the trade sites, I see that a lot of transactions are made in succession.
It takes a bit of time to confirm the transfer process with Bitcoin. Even if an appropriate fee value is entered, you may have to wait.

How do you transfer bitcoin so fast among people in these sites?

you deposit your bitcoin, altcoin, fiat on these sites and they give your "account" some credit which is just numbers and you exchange this credit with other accounts on that site (exchange service). and that is why it is fast and that is why centralized exchanges are popular despite being so bad.
3759  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: If you want to use, really use coin, you should use Litecoin on: March 03, 2017, 07:42:40 AM
well it depends on what you mean by practical. if you want to buy something with crypto currency online then bitcoin is the choice. very rare places also have litecoin as payment option.
if it is any other purpose it is still bitcoin because of the price. but litecoin can be used too.

Well, I don't very often use bitcoin to buy stuff, and it is a while ago.  But this thread inspired me to have a look at current fees, and if what is written here is right:

https://bitcoinfees.21.co/

then things are getting expensive.  If 50 000 satoshis are the average price to get your transaction through "normally", that is about $0.6 right now, or am I wrong ?  That is not a negligible amount any more as compared to fiat.

you are right about the clog that has happened recently and caused the fees to increase at an alarming rate. but this is the result of a continuous spam attack on bitcoin. and this can not go on forever, it will stop at some point and things will eventually come down to normal state. or if it continues down this path for a long time, bitcoin will no longer be a currency and will be something you buy and hodl to sell and take fiat.

and besides the spam attack is happening on bitcoin can happen on any other altcoin and cause problems, it may not be the same because of how they work but it can at the very least cause a big rise in the size of their blockchain causing nodes to stop.
3760  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is this a REAL Bitcoin bubble? on: March 03, 2017, 07:31:08 AM
the steps we took to rise up to the current price doesn't show a bubble yet but the rise is a bit scary and not-so-common for bitcoin to keep on rising like this. if we break the $1300 resistance in the following days then i am going to start expecting a big correction on the way. but i still can not call it a bubble though.
it is mostly because of the ETF on the way and by 11th things will slow down.
