Sorry for what?

Saying sorry is equivalent to saying I have done something wrong.

So, what's your sorry is all about?

Sorry about this: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2902250.msg30769477#msg30769477

Sir,

I am so sorry, it was indeed the hardest part of my reactions in related with the new Merit system.

I just want to push my ranks and with no more other interests and intentions.
Now, I regret the worst post I ever written in this forum and I shouldn't do it or erase or edit or anyway to remove it.

I am sorry Sir. If there's no way to earn back your trust then so be it and I deserve it.
Please accept my apology.

Those are my friends' accounts that I asked for favors to hit my Merits up.

I am sorry Sir.

"Friends" If I had a bitcoin for every time I've heard that.... Obviously a lie:

Has "more than two dozen" according to this:

My biggest regrets on Cryptocurrency is not within this forum for I didn't made a lot of accounts before the Merit system take over the ranking.
I wasn't able to make more forum accounts last year on August, for so, today I have more than 2 dozens of higher rank accounts like more than 2 dozens of Senior members that would be useful on earning a lot of Bounty stakes but that didn't happened because Merot and sMerot prohibited our chances of ranking up  and get higher bounty stakes.

As for me,  bounties  (if not scams)  are well paid. For pressing like or tweet button any price will do:)  it is easy work and it is totally worth any risk.

Signature bounty campaigns are worth the risk and wish the wait and that's would be my best interest that I joined a dozen signature bounty campaigns at the same time because I want to get more Altcoins as long as I can because I know that someday my hard work will be paid off and it is not only for my personal fortune but also for my family as well.

I got most of my Altcoins from signature bounty campaigns and the number of my forum accounts are growing because I want to get more Altcoins while I am able so now I'm holding $30,000 worth of Cryptocurrency assets and will soon spike as high as $140,000 that was actually hit last January 7th.
But now I am hoping that would get more bounty stakes this year.

Nice find. If you check all the accounts that he left merit from you will see they all have in their aim address a day of the week which seemingly corresponds with the day they make posts on and a number which is usually the amount of posts they make (must be a self-reminder to hit their quota).

Take ramini for example. In his AOL address he has Thursday and his posts on the first page are all on the 15th and 8th on Feb which are both Thursdays and he did 17 posts - two more than his quota but others are on the dot).

Op, you are exactly why the merit system was created and you've kicked yourself in the balls with this thread. Well done.
3743  Other / Meta / Re: How to get merit? on: February 21, 2018, 02:22:00 PM
Can anyone tell me how to get merit? Thank you in advance!

Make quality posts that contribute something to the discussion and you may get awarded it by someone.

Post well and people will give it to you, spam and you won't get a thing.
In theory it is! But in fact it is not . people are afraid to give their smerit , as there were cases that painted the account, (this is the beginning ) now many hold for sale, already a lot of ads in the telegrams selling smerit (prices there from $ 10) and given that up to Fullmember need 90 merit-this means that many (90%) they just will not get!

Who is afraid to give merit? The only people who should be afraid are those trying to get away with giving it to their alts. If you're giving it to random people who make great posts then there's nothing to be worried about and the system will work as intended. And most people who are trying to sell merit via telegram are probably likely just opportunistic scammers but people who are genuinely selling it will likely be caught eventually and receive negative feedback so is it really worth it? Just try and earn your merit the honest way rather than trying to cheat the system because it will be counter-productive if/when you are caught.
3744  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Forum moderation policy on: February 21, 2018, 01:49:24 PM
How is merit scored

Merit is given by people to users who's posts they find informative or helpful. As for the score, people can give anywhere between 1-50 merit points per post but this is up to the individual.
3745  Other / Meta / Re: Giving merits to an OLD post or thread is legal or illegal? on: February 21, 2018, 01:12:50 PM
I think it is a waste of merit, and it goes against the spirit of the system. The idea of merit is to encourage fresh new posts and posters that are assets to the board. Rewarding tired old posts, and bumping out of date threads, isn't going to build a vibrant new community.

I disagree. If a post is great or informative it should still be considered for merit if you stumble across it and find it helpful or informative. At least we know those posts weren't just created for the explicit purpose of trying to get merit as many people are now doing. I have a couple of threads that were created before the Merit system that people seem to find helpful such as the Activity FAQ and Signature Campaign Guidelines thread and I don't think they should be exuded just on the basis of when they were created, but you and anyone else are certainly free to leave merit as you see fit.
3746  Other / Meta / Re: [List] Suspected users that are abusing merit 3.0 on: February 21, 2018, 01:05:25 PM

These two gave each them merit as well as each other:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1170003 martin1221 September 26, 2017
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=1244492 chrismarie1221 October 24, 2017,

Obviously both the same.

3747  Other / Meta / Re: Is it even possible to Merit would be cancelled? on: February 21, 2018, 12:58:57 PM
I was asking this question in some of my posts towards merit discussion, but as I noticed nobody actually read previous comments and it stayed without reply, so i decided to create a possible thread to see people's opinions. Sorry if this question was asked already.

Yes, it's certainly possible. The merit system is more of an experiment right now and there's no guarantee it will be permanent but there's no plan to remove it either. Changes can and likely will be made to it especially regarding merit sources if it's not working as hoped.
Theymos has previously mentioned that if it's not successful removing signatures will likely be the only other option so people who are complaining about the merit system have better make it work because lets face it the only reason those people are even here in the first place is to earn money and they'll disappear like a fart in the wind as soon as signatures were removed.

I'm back...  I've been too busy this past days IRL and in here... I am now down below at 14th...  Cheesy

I am sorry for you, you were getting great results and you could get in the first 5 places!
unfortunately to win it is necessary to be constant and not lose points on the way.

There's been a couple of times I've got next to zero points - well, about 30 or something - so missing a week or two wouldn't be devastating especially if you can pick up the slack by having some great weeks with 150+ points etc.

------

This week I might actually bet my predictions for real just as an experiment. Seeing as I'm doing pretty good on the predictions I wondered how successful I'd be in betting some small stakes on my actual picks. Say £1 on a correct outcome and £1 on the correct score over all the games. I'll see what the odds are and if it's worth it but if I have a bad week I'll be screwed haha.

Although I think unilad is not that reliable when it comes to news. Seeing articles like this excites me.But according to it, investing in long term will eventually end up to lossing profits. Thoughts?

Increasing regulatory recognition of cryptocurrency exchanges, the entrance of institutional capital and major technology developments will contribute to the market’s rebound and push cryptocurrency prices to all new highs this year.

There’s no reason why we couldn’t see bitcoin pushing $50,000 by December.

Roll Eyes Why would this excite you? Anyone can pull a figure out of their arse and say "bitcoin is going to 1 million or 1 billion". According to who and based on what? It's meaningless. Yeah, bitcoin might go to $50k. It might go to $500 as well, but one thing I've always said is bitcoin will probably be worth a lot more than it is now and a hell of a lot less as this is pretty much the nature of bitcoin but anyone putting a random figure on it is just purely speculating often based on little to nothing so I wouldn't get your hopes up.
3750  Other / Meta / Re: Total disorder in the french forum Looking to see something done definitely. on: February 20, 2018, 12:42:17 PM
So we have to report hundreds times that our moderator don't care with the french subforum ?

No, not hundreds, but as theymos and I have mentioned reporting is the best way to choose a candidate. If you're not willing to report then I'm not sure why you would be willing to moderate the section. Besides, if the French section is such a mess as people are claiming then reporting hundreds should be easy, but if nobody is willing to out in the effort then you can't complain.

So you actually expect every user to do the work, the mod is suppose to do?
Users aren't supposed to enforce rules, mods are.

Most mods are chosen this way. Think of it like a trial for a job, but people make reports to help the community. No staff member should be expected to patrol their sub board constantly all day looking for things to do. If you spot something that breaks the rules then report it and help out, but if you don't want to then fine but don't complain when other staff members can't see the need for another mod when there's no reports coming in from that section.

Discouraged, members stopped to report posts a long time ago, it's what I was explaining, see yourself with the table you posted it's a good example. Why are we supposed to report when we know nothing is done? come on. I do use the report button on the different forums but why should I waste my time doing it in the french forum? Report marked as bad because it's is a way to tell us, I do what I want. (my accuracy is fine with 99%, but I am not going to waste my time anymore in the french forum, I even stopped to be active in for obvious reasons)

You just expect us to choose a French person at random to become a mod? What makes you think whoever we chose would do the job adequately? The person who is actively reporting would be the best candidate but if you're discouraged from reporting then that person will likely be discouraged from moderating as well.

I Speak fluent french and do not mind helping in any way possible. If someone could kindly let me know the order in which things get dealt with I would be more than happy to assist.

Then start reporting.
3751  Other / Meta / Re: Banned account on: February 20, 2018, 12:30:00 PM
Sorry what is to be considered as spamming? Joining Airdrops Is considered scam?

It's not a scam but if all your posts are just you posting your address in threads where that's not permitted then you're breaking the rules and might get banned for it. Double posting is also against the rules.

@Shiidshen1997: thanks for the response. Didn't know newbie's could only post 3 times a day.

There is no such restriction. Ignore him.

@Panzersin: well then why they just don't delete the accoutn if it's nuked and I can't use it for nothing? What's the utility of a nuked account? Anyway I'm sorry to say that if as spamming is considered answering back to airdrops well, many more account should have been nuked.

Account's aren't 'deleted'. Accounts are nuked if most or all of their posts are spam or breaking the rules in some fashion.

I think this is the better way to make new people go away from the forum, and honestly i Think that this is just a move from the older members who wants to keep their privileges and exclusivity.

Roll Eyes. If you genuinely believe that then it's probably just best to leave.
3752  Other / Meta / Re: How can bitcointalk get more approachable for newbies? on: February 20, 2018, 09:08:17 AM
I've heard many voices that it is hard to get on board with all the restrictions for newbies and the time required to understand the nuances / structures of bitcointalk. What can be changed to improve this (and thus scale bitcointalk) as more people join the ecosystem?

What do you have a problem with exactly? This is a message board like any other and you make posts here relevant to the sub board you're posting in. If you want to move up ranks - which I'm going to assume is what you're really concerned about - then make quality posts over time and you will naturally pass through the ranks. Or are there other nuances you're worried about?
3753  Other / Meta / Re: Forum ranks/positions/badges (What do those shiny coins under my name mean?) on: February 20, 2018, 09:03:37 AM
Hi.
Is there any way to learn why someone got banned? I know a girl that was almost junior member. She was doing only normal stuff like ICO's etc, but she was banned. Che complained 2-3 times but no answer. Is anything more that she can do?
Thnx

Yes. You can create a thread in Meta about it. What was her account name? She will have been banned fro breaking one of the rules like copy and pasting content or making low quality content continually. You can read the full list of rules at the following if you want to try figure out why she was banned: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=703657.0
3754  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Report fake translation on: February 20, 2018, 09:00:42 AM
It's not really a staff or forum matter so belongs either in Reputation or Scam Accusations. If you can find someone Romanian who is reputable to vouch that it is poorly translated then I'll leave them negative feedback.
you are right to report only rumanian people who are fluent in the language, so dev can consider it

I am Romanian, so I know what I'm talking about. Sure, I don't have enough reputation, I can understand that. Isn't Cyrus Romanian too?

I couldn't just leave feedback without verifying it. For all I know you could be a fellow translation bounty hunter annoyed that he's taking your business. And yes, Cyrus is Romanian but I wouldn't expect a reply or any help from him.

Later edit: never mind, I see that NeuroticFish reacted already

NeuroticFish isn't on default trust but EcuaMobi is who has now left him negative.
3755  Other / Meta / Re: can merit reduce account dublicate? on: February 20, 2018, 08:40:51 AM
I do not think that it will eliminate duplicate accounts completely. Members here make duplicate accounts for a number of reasons. Sometimes they need it to bump own offers, services and they need not a account with high merits for that.

It won't eliminate alt accounts but it severely restricts them. Before, anyone was free to create an unlimited amount of accounts here and all they had to do was spam their way through ranks making one line shitposts and you could even do this by just merely posting a bitcoin address in a giveaway. Do that 480 times over a year and a half you've got yourself a Hero account. Use a bot to do so and you don't even have to do anything at all (and many people were doing this). Now doing this will get you nowhere because if you're not making quality posts then you will never rise through the ranks. It's going to be hard enough to rank up one account so having multiple accounts is likely now out if the question unless you can make posts worthy of receiving merit.

The only thing you're being "accused" of is your claim of being trustworthy, which you yourself just stated below that you're not:

Yes, I may not yet a very trustworthy manager

Nobody is calling you a scam, but that fact that you're claiming to be trustworthy when that's something you haven't earned here. Maybe after you've done a lot of deals here and acquired some reputation then you can call yourself trustworthy but you just saying "I'm trustworthy" isn't how trust works.

Lauda said that there's something shady with my service, I just want to clarify what is it. I just want to tell to everyone that they can trust me and it's up to them whether they trust me or not. So what's the big deal here?

You seemingly don't want to understand what either of us are saying. We've already clarified what the issue is:

You're claiming to be trustworthy.
We're saying you're not.
You're now saying you're not.
That's what's the issue here.

Sure, people can make up their own kind on whether they trust you but they can do that without you claiming to be trustworthy. In my opinion someone claiming to be trustworthy when they've displayed nothing to back that up is both questionable and very naive.

Did you put in the reference code correctly? If you don't then it won't be able to automatically verify. Just keep contacting support about it but from experience it can take quite some time to get a response from them, but I have had two accounts manually verified by support staff, just don't expect it to happen over night.
3760  Other / Meta / Re: Stopping Sale of Hacked Accounts on: February 19, 2018, 01:29:38 PM
I suppose it could work in some capacity but it will also hurt people who just haven't logged in for quite some time and for whatever reason.

This would also mean that members would need to stay active on this forum instead of showing up once a month to spam posts for activity.

But then they will just log in to make the required posts to keep their account 'active'.

How about a simpler solution? Just lock all the accounts that have been inactive since the last time the forum was hacked and the database stolen.

I think that's already what happens when someone logs into an account for the first time in years.
