3741  Economy / Reputation / Re: [BeCareful] In-active account asking for loan on: July 24, 2020, 02:14:40 PM
None of those scams techniques succeeded to get a loan, even for a small amount. Unless the account is hacked and the real owner didn't appeal for the recovery.
Direwoulf lost more than 0.3 btc  by a borrower (scammer), who took loan and repaid normally. Then day by day increase volume and finally left the forum. Now direwoulf is in loss about 0.3 btc. So, it is difficult to know who will scam or not.
That's a strange case. I knew user Theyoungmillionaire and thought he is a trusted.
When he got the loan from Direwolf, he had already a green trust from many users confirming how much he is trusted, so i don't expect any lender to refuse giving him any amount. In fact, it's a great loss for Direwolf, but it's also a stupid move from Theyoungmillionaire as his profile worth much more than those 0.3btc. With someone who had been a good person during his stay here, i really wish he comes back and pay the loan .
For unsecured loan, it's just a matter of how much you trust a user, in the end, it's still an unsecured loan with inherent high risk.
I'm sure  lender knows what he is doing especially Direwolf who's been in the business for a while and he knows how high the risk he take upon lending money.

3744  Economy / Economics / Re: Investing in Life Insurance using Cryptocurrency on: July 24, 2020, 11:11:53 AM
Investing in Life Insurance company is simply wasting your money to be honest, Just invest on health insurance which is offered by the government itself so you need to invest on assets not something which gives you back after our life.

Maybe that is your view on that matter, but people who avail on life insurance think it's not wasting money, it's a way to secured the family they will left when they pass away. I don't even call that investing as you will not benefit when you die, it's the people you left or your beneficiaries.

When you have lot of money which you got from your investments you won't actually need a life insurance to take care of your family.

True that, but majority of us are just employees, we don't have a lot of money, we rely on our job so we need this kind of security.
3745  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Taxes on Bitcoins: Unreasonable or essential? on: July 24, 2020, 10:42:55 AM
@DarkDays, TBH, I would prefer that the trading sites or other platform will just deduct the taxes from me, they will act as a withholding agent in short.
Tax on bitcoin and even in regular tax is quite complicated for people who are not into business.
3746  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Mike Tyson vs Roy Jones Junior [PPV on Nov. 28] on: July 23, 2020, 11:02:20 PM
This one should be close to reality if you guys are not convince yet, there's a betting odds on the fight, so I guess I like this one.
Odds of both fighters are (-) this means they are almost equal per oddsmaker, so it's not hard to choose which one we will put our bet on.

This will be in over a month, I'm not sure how they'll market this in just a short span of time, but of course, this fight should be entertaining(hopefully).

Mike Tyson here, current score is 8-1 in favor of my man.

3748  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2019-2020 betting on: July 23, 2020, 01:54:27 PM
Result of the games today, problem is I don't know where you put a bet as these games was not available in my sportsbook .

https://www.covers.com/sports/nba/matchups

In the forum, - https://www.covers.com/forum/nba-betting-22, they are already enjoying betting as you can read, there's even posters betting on live bet, I think these odds is not yet available in crypto sportsbook, probably fiat sportsbook are offering these games already.
3749  Economy / Economics / Re: Investing in Life Insurance using Cryptocurrency on: July 23, 2020, 12:59:38 PM
and NO, because you don't get my point.

Just to clarify, I know what insurance is, but I am new to the insurance in the blcokchain, in fact I have been working in several companies and our company provide us with life insurance, but it's different in blockchain compared to the world outside, and that's why I say it's more transparent here as you can see the transaction online easily and all necessary information can be access anytime.
If many companies will adopt and the government will cooperate it can be possible, BTW its better to have personal insurance, since some company insurance companies were only active as long as you're working in that company and it's only limited with some coverage. But you're indeed lucky that you have company who insured their employees some didn't provide even now that there is a need for protection for everyone.

That was before, but honestly, I am not really reading the insurance policy since it's free and its for everyone, it's different when you are the one paying as you will look for the best insurance with the cheapest you can get. Blockchain insurance could be the future, but as of now, I think I'd stick with the traditional one until more people will start adopting in our country.
3750  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do we really know how many bitcoins does satoshi have? on: July 23, 2020, 12:25:22 PM
We never know how much he is holding, it's not an ICO where we know how much of the supply the team will own.
Though I read some article that satoshi is holding at least 1 million bitcoin, but it's not confirmed, never will be, but I'm sure he is the top holder.
3751  Economy / Economics / Re: Biggest winner during COVID? on: July 23, 2020, 11:56:17 AM
Do you think this was a man-made virus to destabilize the world's economy and buy huge shares so that a vaccinations can be rolled out once the enough damage is made ?

There has been a lot of theory about that, but I don't want to believe unless there is a concrete evidence concerning that.

What we are experiencing now could be a man made or a natural one, but we should be focus on how to battle the covid-19, it was affected the global economy and until now it's still not solve, I don't want to talk about the biggest winners and I don't want to know who based only on my own speculation, but I believe there are people who benefited from these especially those who are selling basic necessities as the demand have increase significantly, but overall, the economy is down.
3752  Economy / Economics / Re: Investing in Life Insurance using Cryptocurrency on: July 23, 2020, 11:21:18 AM
I am hoping to avail this kind of insurance in the future, it's my first time to know it as I wasn't really looking for an insurance now.
But, for transparency sake, I think insurance using the blockchain provide that to us, and if it's easy to claim and to avail it, this should grow and gain massive adoption in the future, it looks like the world is about to change already, from centralized to now decentralized.

if you didnt see this post , you wont know the benefits of insurances right ?

NO

Quote
but now that you know ,  why make such excuse ?

3753  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: how big? on: July 22, 2020, 07:34:46 AM
I think this old article could help to estimate how big.

Bitcoin Gamblers Have Wagered $4.5 Billion in BTC Since 2014

BTC3 wagered per minute, imagine that. I'm sure that trend increases.
3754  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2019-2020 betting on: July 22, 2020, 07:12:18 AM
It's difficult to analyze now.
Do they really need the win or will this just look like a scrimmage too?
If it will be like an All-Star game where the defense is whack to avoid injuries then, a high score could happen.
Higher chance of winning Over 218 bet.
Maybe wait until July 30 before you put your bet, in more than a week, a lot of things could happen, we need to know who will play and will not play.
These teams does not need to play like other teams that who are in the bottom, so an over is a good bet, but like I said, let's wait a bit.

But I might just wait for games which needs a win the most. i.e. Blazers and Pelicans.
Unless there is a better offer for other games.

The odds is where we can find the offer, if you look at the site, the odds for other games is already available, it's up to you when you start betting.
3755  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is it now? Could this be the way up? on: July 21, 2020, 11:35:02 PM
What matters now is bitcoin survives, it doesn't need to rise in this occasion but if it will, then will be good for the crypto market as investors would certainly put their money since crypto are very attractive at this time.

Imagine, when the stock market is struggling and crypto market pumped, I can already expect what would happen, we should be in the bull run again, probably bigger than the previous, but I don't want to expect a lot on that, that's just one of the great possibilities I can imagine.

....

How do you know that the corona virus will not mutate? So far it's still not clear if corona will come back in the next years in a slighty different form. ...

Reword this to correct it.

Of course COVID-19 will mutate. It already has. Of course it will be around, basically forever.

According to this article, corona virus is mutating, https://www.healthline.com/health-news/what-to-know-about-mutation-and-covid-19#The-new-coronavirus-is-mutating,-but-very-slowly

you are right, it will last forever but hopefully our scientist will find all the vaccine necessary to continue for us to live a normal life.
3758  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 NBA Season on: July 20, 2020, 10:30:44 AM
Lebron is already popular, he will be GOAT someday just like MJ and Kobe, not sure who among the active NBA players now will  also be GOAT someday and  will enjoy that kind of market value, I think Leonard has to shut Lebron's team this season for him to gain some spot in the future.
Truth, he is popular, no doubt about that.
Kawhi? Yeah, a lot of analyst are still looking for that reason for him to be called as one of the GOAT's.
He needs 1 more win to prove it and this must be the time.

He has already proven that he can beat Lebron when he gets his first championship and his first Finals MVP, I guess fans still wants to rematch and they might not face in the NBA finals since they are in the West but a WFC between the two would be great to witness.
3759  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Binance Card Launches in Europe on: July 17, 2020, 03:41:35 PM
Getting bigger and bigger, more great news for Binance and I would expect that they will be in the top soon, next to bitcoin.
I like it, hopefully one day they'll roll this out that will be available to everyone so transaction would be easy.

I haven't read the details yet but I think if you have a balance in your binance account, you'll be able to fund the card, right?
3760  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 NBA Season on: July 17, 2020, 02:39:34 PM

That's a disappointment but it's not too late, if he can prove himself in the playoffs and help his team to succeed, he might get a good contract again once his contract expires. BTW, his contract will expire next season, https://www.spotrac.com/nba/utah-jazz/mike-conley-2532/
He had his breaks.
Mike Conley is part of that 2011 Memphis Grizzlies team which upset San Antonio.
It was memorable. They are the lowest seed while SAS is in the number 1 spot.
He is on the top of the offensive players next to Zack Randolph.
Damn, that was one hell of a game and its difficult to forget. He shined pretty well in that series.
I think I didn't see this series, but I know Memphis Grizzlies was one of the best teams before although they don't dominate.
IIRC, with Mike Conley and Zack Randolph, and Gasol of course, they are a team that is hard to beat, the "GRIT AND GRIND" team which relies on their defense, they even beat the Clippers with Griffin in a series, so they are really good as a team, until the Warriors came in to the picture.
