Mike Conley is not anymore on his prime and his contract will soon expire, hopefully that will open up a cap for the young Jazz players like Clarkson. Playoff time soon, Mike Conley has a great experience so hopefully he can help his team with that.
I remember Mike Conley as the best point guard in Memphis. It's just sad they haven't reached the NBA finals when they made an upset against the OKC in 2013 NBA 2nd round playoffs. I think he's a perfect compliment with Marc Gasol. After their tandem in Memphis, he seems lost and cannot find his rhythm. Conley is a veteran point guard, So I agree with you that he can help his teammates with his experience.

those days already past and new breed already taken the place, he was before when he still on his prime, got his chance but the team didn't manage to take that opportunity to reached the finals. I think he's a perfect compliment with Marc Gasol. After their tandem in Memphis, he seems lost and cannot find his rhythm.
He got that combo and they really played well, but they unable to move forward and bring the franchise to the finals,. Conley is a veteran point guard, So I agree with you that he can help his teammates with his experience.
Veterans needs to adjust, no need to treat yourself as a the main key of the team, instead, giving the mental guidance for the new and young talents will bring good chemistry for the team.

It was memorable. They are the lowest seed while SAS is in the number 1 spot. He is on the top of the offensive players next to Zack Randolph. Damn, that was one hell of a game and its difficult to forget. He shined pretty well in that series.

I think I didn't see this series, but I know Memphis Grizzlies was one of the best teams before although they don't dominate. IIRC, with Mike Conley and Zack Randolph, and Gasol of course, they are a team that is hard to beat, the "GRIT AND GRIND" team which relies on their defense, they even beat the Clippers with Griffin in a series, so they are really good as a team, until the Warriors came in to the picture.

^ Yeah and they were purely defensive players as well, it wasn't really that much of a scorer in that team but they were all amazing defenders. Shane Battier? Hell of a defender and he was on that team as well, Tony Allen? Hell even Kobe (rip) once said that he is one of the toughest people that guard him and that is one of the highest compliments that a defender could get. When you go out there with a roster like Mike Conley - Tony Allen - Shane Battier - Zach Randolp - Marc Gasol that is some greaaat defense.
I mean I can't think of any team that was built around that much defense aside from 2004 pistons, this grit and grind memphis actually brought the defensive teams into 2010's after all of that 2004 championship period of defense being important. Hopefully we would see that one day again, I miss those days.

Right now league is more offensive focused and thats not just because defense is not as good as it used to be or players do not care about defense as they used to, I mean Warriors had an insane defensive scheme that helped them become champions yet their amazing use of offense was the thing that got attention. One of the main reasons why defense is better lately is the fact that teams are utilizing data a lot more which showed that shooting three is a lot better in efficiency than shooting midrange, so teams are basically either dunk/layup around the rim or they shoot threes which made the league a lot more efficient, plus the league is faster and teams are building their offenses on usually 10-14 seconds instead 24 seconds and when you combine these two facts its a lot more high scoring and less defensive.

Yeah, it was the warriors that started it but we also have to consider that warriors although outstanding in offense, they are good at defense as well, that's why they won a championship. Also, not all the time an offensive team would score as much as they some, sometimes the scoring is low, for example, the games between the Rockets and the Warriors in the West Finals before, they also have a low scoring night that resulted to below 200 in total, that showed with good defense, it would also result to a low scoring game. here's the 2018 WCF result, https://www.basketball-reference.com/playoffs/2018-nba-western-conference-finals-warriors-vs-rockets.htmlof the 7 games, 3 games went under 200. plus the league is faster and teams are building their offenses on usually 10-14 seconds instead 24 seconds and when you combine these two facts its a lot more high scoring and less defensive.
In the regular season they have more high scoring games so I usually bet on the over.

If only based on the total 200 points, you'll win most of the time but it's not the reality, sportsbook or bookmakers also adjust the line, sometimes if both high scoring teams will play, the line is set total of 240 points to 250 points, so it's still not easy Betting on the over all the time is not advisable, that's just like betting blindly even if its the warriors or any other high scoring team.

IMO, Ja Morant would be the rookie of the year.

Hype wins, so I think Zion is the better player although they don't play the same position. Zion played well in the remaining season but he played the least games compared to games played by Ja Morant. He also gave some impact stating Zion is not the only one we should look forward to. IMO, Ja Morant would be the rookie of the year.
That's the difference, Zion got injured, he only played limited games but his impact to the team is really huge, we can tell that without him, Pelicans would not be a contender, but I agree with you, it's a disrespect if Morant would not win the ROY.

After Zion, another player left Orlando bubble due family matters, Montrezl Harrell . That would be a big hit for Clippers if he doesn't get back on time or gets tested postive for Corona as he was was very good during regular season and surely would be missed. Maybe not for those 8 games, but in the playoffs for sure. Los Angeles Clippers forward Montrezl Harrell has left the NBA bubble near Orlando, Florida, because of a family emergency, according to Shams Charania of Stadium and The Athletic. Most of the Clippers have been in Florida preparing for this month's restart since July 9, with the full team expected to participate in the league's return. Charania notes Harrell is expected to rejoin the team "at a later date". The 26-year-old will be subject to a league-mandated quarantine of at least four days upon his return before he can begin team activities again. https://syndication.bleacherreport.com/amp/2900623-report-clippers-montrezl-harrell-leaves-nba-bubble-for-emergency-family-matter.amp.html
Regarding this season individual awards, NBA decided to count only first part of the season, up to March 11th on order to keep ir fair for those players that won't be part of these 8 games. So MVP, Sixth Man, ROTY, Coach of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year will be awarded before July 31st. https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2900644-nba-awards-reportedly-to-be-based-on-play-before-league-suspended-march-11

Here is better or I think this is the one you are talking about. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DBKueG5Elu4According to the interview in Fair Game, Agent Zero was paid whole just to get rid of him and he made $62m with just 17 games because he was signed to Memphies Grizzlies. Wizards just don't want to deal with his problems. Holy crap! right? After that, he actually admitted he is making more in China. That guy is a hell of a genius making profits with his skills.
