3761  Economy / Economics / Re: USDC Depegging due to Silicon Bank collapse on: March 11, 2023, 06:38:07 PM
Gemini’s GUSD is apparently also depegging. I think it’s because Gemini is insolvent and trying to stay alive as a zombie long enough to recoup loss of customer funds. There are also rumors of many liberal celebrities like Harry and Meghan along with Oprah losing millions of dollars as a result of Silicon Bank’s collapse. I don’t know how true that is but it’s interesting that they would have their money in such an under collateralized bank.
3762  Economy / Collectibles / Re: (IDEAS?) What to do with auction proceeds for ScamKey victims on: March 11, 2023, 06:31:55 PM
It would literally be impossible to figure out reimbursement for anything other than the directly yogged  halving sets. Just myself I'm over 1 btc in losses if you count premium for my collection of over 200+ coldkeys, unfunded history cards, unrecieved orders, and thats stipl not accounting for the .5 BTC business loan or the yogged halving sets in my collection

I agree. If anything, it’s likely that Yogg is still posting here with alt accounts and attempting to further benefit from his scam using the charity angle to collect a portion of the donated funds. I think it’s horrible what he did but it’s impossible to fairly or equally compensate all victims at this point. The whole situation is awful and I’m not trying to discourage donations. If there were any way to fairly distribute funds to all victims I’d donate myself. I just don’t see how that could be possible.
3763  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [POLL] Using AI to predict outcomes on: March 11, 2023, 06:23:40 PM
I see many people talking about ChatGPT these days if they can use ChatGPT for their business, for trading or even for gambling. While the whole point about ChatGPT is it's just an AI and this is not something new in the world for us to help gamblers or other people. While the gambling system is based on luck and randomly so there should be no algorithm for it ChatGPT will also use the data provided for the engine to predict anything, that's why I think using ChatGPT won't help at all.
Agreed, but for those gamblers who can't make decisions on their own or there are many who manage their gambling based on luck only , this chat GPT can provide a decision. Since luck is a big factor in gambling, it is better if the gambler can win with the help of this AI. But winning in gambling does not depend solely on luck and there is no chance to avoid luck.  Need to research thoroughly and then some one can depend on luck. One should never rely on chat GPT. Because it will provide information only depending on the data.

That’s a good point. I think there are people out there that get discouraged gambling, and will pretty much bet on anything if it has a chance to be better than their own opinion. I often find myself looking at the list of recent bets, and just following other peoples crazy high odds multibet predictions with a dollar bet hoping to hit me a 3000 to 1 score. It’s just fun sometimes.
3764  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: March 11, 2023, 06:20:49 PM
What do you think about the Warriors vs. Bucks game tomorrow?

The Warriors are back at home and are +1 point underdogs, so this is considered a fair game as bookies believe the Warriors will be able to break their losing streak and beat the Bucks. Is betting on the Warriors moneyline a safe bet, or not?"

A safe bet? Definitely not. Betting against Giannis Antetokounmpo is always a risk. That being said, the Warriors are unbelievable at home this year so they have a good chance. Honestly though I think the bucks are a better team and while the Warriors might be better together and with a better coach they definitely won’t be able to easily beat the bucks.
3765  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: March 11, 2023, 03:31:42 AM
That Spurs game was a crazy upset. Should’ve put something down on them I guess. I think the odds were 7 to 1. All the other games tonight have been really close down to the wire games. A good night for exciting NBA basketball. I just wish the Nuggets didn’t lose. Smiley
3766  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: March 11, 2023, 01:10:01 AM
I took advantage of the 76ers slow start to get a bet in with some decent odds. Hopefully they make a come back as it isn’t looking so great right now. I couldn’t resist getting in a couple of good parlays with those odds though. Hoping Denver pulls off an easy win tonight as well or else all my bets for the night are going to be toast.
3767  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is the US government about to sell over $1 billion worth of Bitcoin? on: March 11, 2023, 01:07:54 AM
I agree with you that it’s unusual for them to send all of that BTC to Coinbase. I haven’t heard anything about an imminent auction though. It seems like they definitely are looking at cashing it out. Otherwise I don’t see why they would have sent it there at all. Hopefully they aren’t but you never know when it comes to the government. Common sense would say to wait two more years but…
3768  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Do you know who you are? on: March 11, 2023, 01:05:35 AM
I’d like to think I know who I am, but that’s a lot easier than knowing how other people see you. I’m always surprised at the differences in people’s opinions of myself. I hear both that I am a saint and sinner that I am generous and greedy. I guess it’s hard to always be your best self, but you also can’t control other people’s projections of themselves onto their opinions of you.
3769  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 11, 2023, 01:03:18 AM
This is the last chance to change all stablecoins for bitcoin. Many did it at $ 16 - 17 k but now it is still possible. Remember this when bitcoin will be $ 35 - 40 k.

Stablecoins? It’s always a good time to change those into BTC. If you don’t the people behind the scenes of the stablecoin will do it with your money and keep the gains while leaving you the risk. I am not super confident we won’t retest $16K but I think the smart move remains buying as much BTC as you’re able as frequently as possible for this entire year.
3770  Economy / Goods / Re: ~ Buying a TESLA CYBERTRUCK with BITCOIN ~ on: March 10, 2023, 11:19:22 PM
Some new details about the Cybertruck have emerged.

https://www.teslarati.com/tesla-cybertruck-details-leaked-dimensions-accessories-features-video/

The most interesting claims in my opinion are that all models will come with rear wheel steering (makes sense for simplfying production) and that there will only be two models developed. A 2-motor version and a performance 3-motor version.  This is the first I've heard of Elon cancelling the single motor variant and it also indicates he is no longer planning a 4-motor variant.  Still exciting hearing more details as we inch closer to production of this monster machine from the future.
3771  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: March 10, 2023, 10:57:56 PM
I've been away for a while, but I'm active again!

I confess, I'm a surprised by the result of some games and that's a fact, day after day the games are very competitive and several teams want a seed in the playoffs.

It's incredible, the performance of the Lakers in these last few games, literally AD is carrying the team on its back!
I have no doubt that he could be the go-to player for the Lakers when LJ is absent.

Lately I'm betting a little bit, because I'm having difficulty to "hit" some bets.

Agreed this year has probably been my worst year in terms of day to day.  I'm still weary on the Lakers.  I got dough against them most of the time they are constantly over bet just like the yankees in baseball (and I'm a yankees fan).  Just look at their nba championship odds, they are like 10th right now and might not even male the playoffs lol.  It's always an easy bet year in year out.

I'm still not all in on betting on the Lakers yet even after their recent performance either.  They've burned me too many times with false hope now.  When LeBron comes back from his injury, if they take it to another level and start beating really good teams without injured star players then I might start getting excited for the playoffs.  I think Phoenix is still the team to beat though if KD can stay healthy.  Crazy how injuries have become such a major role in today's NBA.
3772  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do you think BTC would rise again? on: March 10, 2023, 06:22:52 PM
I think Bitcoin has the support of enough billionaires and Wall Street fund managers that it will likely rise again even if nobody is using it. Folks are stacking and I think rich folks with investment income are going to propel BTC to six figures no matter what happens. The market is too small with too much support to not bubble up every four years. This coming recession will be the biggest test for BTC’s price ever.
3773  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How do you interpret the fluctuation of Bitcoin price ? on: March 10, 2023, 04:41:45 PM
“I just got fluctuated out of twenty-five hundred dollars.”
-Jerry Seinfeld

The market’s purpose is almost exclusively to take your money. It is a machine that works against emotions to get people to take losses and invest at high prices. It is best to avoid the fluctuations, create a long-term plan, and stick with it.
3774  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: March 10, 2023, 03:50:14 PM
No nationally televised games tonight, but there are a couple of lopsided match ups that might be worth betting on for a small win. The 76ers should be able to beat the trailblazers, and the nuggets should be able to beat the spurs no problem. Neither of those bets should pay much but they’re pretty safe bets. Might be good to combine some parlays.

I will get 1.42 for a parlay bet. Well, I guess it's safe, but sometimes the Trail Blazers could also pull off a surprise. They are not a bad team like the Spurs this season. All I am worried about is, what if Lillard has a lights-out game and breaks his 71 points this season?

Legitimate concerns for sure. Portland is definitely more likely to win a game then the Spurs and the Trailblazers are in the playoff hunt so they’re motivated. Dame has also been playing amazingly the last couple months. The 76ers have been playing well too though and are a much more stacked team. Even if Dame does have a great game, it’s Philly’s play that will determine the winner.
3775  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Biggest Bonus is Casino History on: March 10, 2023, 03:47:58 PM
I’m still new to the idea of gambling in order to reach certain bonuses offered by casinos. I think the largest bonus I can recall was only around $18. I admittedly don’t claim weekly bonuses and things like that though. Mostly because I would need to be in a telegram group and that feels dirty to me. I know that hunting for bonuses is quite popular though and see that Stake offers many several thousand dollar bonuses for hitting certain jackpots on casino games.
3776  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Free sports betting tip on: March 10, 2023, 03:44:59 PM
If this is something you’re going to continue to do going forward, might I suggest that you edit the original post on this thread to show your previous picks as well as your currently active pick so that people can see your performance over time without having to search through the entire thread. Then if your performance is good, it can be easily seen and followed.
3777  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Bitcoin & Apple Pay on: March 10, 2023, 03:42:48 PM
I agree that it would be a great addition to Bitcoin if one could store BTC in their Apple wallet. I also think that Tim Cook probably has people working on just that. However, it has to be a pretty massive liability for Apple if their phones are holding BTC and it’s a native application. I’m not sure the benefits outweigh the liabilities for Apple at this time. However, Tim Cook does own BTC, so I’m sure at some point in the distant future he will be providing more support for it.
3778  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Can all currency be mined? on: March 10, 2023, 03:39:39 PM
It's a big no.
Currencies are not mineable unlike Bitcoin and other Crypto.

Currencies are controlled by central banks and only them can generate new money and no one else.

Unless you mean it Cryptocurrencies, not currency?

Even if they/them (see what I did there?) are talking about cryptocurrencies, the answer is the same. No. You have to look no further than the second most popular cryptocurrency in the world, Ethereum, which can no longer be mined as a result of their fork to ETH2.0. Thousands of others have similar chains that aren’t mined to create new coins.
3779  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: About Rapid Wealth Accumulation on: March 10, 2023, 03:37:14 PM
How to go from poor to millionaire fast in crypto?

This depends on if you want to be a millionaire on paper or if you actually want to have a million dollars in a bank account somewhere. If you want to just say you’re a millionaire then DeFi is the place for you. You can get locked into some shitcoin with massive interest payouts and if you’re early will no doubt be a millionaire on paper for a while. When it unlocks the value crashes and all your money is gone, but for a while you can say you’re a millionaire on paper. That’s the fastest and easiest way. The long hard way is to invest in Bitcoin and help grow the community instead of shilling shitcoins, but that takes 8 years and dedication.
3780  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Trump Demands All Jan 6 Detainees Be Released From Prison After Tucker Carlson.. on: March 10, 2023, 03:34:20 PM
The footage was pretty damning to the narrative that this was a worse attack on America than September 11th. Yes, some idiot liberals were actually trying to push that…

What I still can’t believe is that they’re complaining about the footage seeing the light of day instead of being happy that the truth is getting out there. A government that fears truth is a dangerous thing and the liberal agenda for the last 3 years has been to censor the truth. Not cool.
