...
Either way, this project simply is an air-gapped wallet on a small device. No hardware security. Take it or leave it.

In part I agree with you. But also because I have some background in corporate information security, I think a properly airgapped and encrypted cold storage device is safer than any hardware wallet. I'm not talking explicitly about this device here (I haven't had a chance to explore all of its technical data in detail yet) but in general. Don't get me wrong, a hardware wallet is a really nice combo of security and ease of use, but is it the safest way to store your coins? I think not.
3762  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Thinking of joining the HEX campaign? Think again. on: November 21, 2020, 03:45:39 PM
I think you are a legit retard or just another brainwashed bitcoin maxi.

I think that only people who don't have the right arguments are starting to insult their opponents in the debate. Lashing out at someone is a classic sign of weakness.

Bitcoin has no use case either, Its basically just number go up.

That’s exactly what all the nayayers say, but as time goes on, this position proves to be demonstratively wrong.

All crypto is just speculation and the only thing people care about is the price.

Here you are fundamentally wrong. If that were true, there wouldn't be a bitcoin in the first place.

I believe that reporting is the best way to deal with these offenders. There is no need to use the trust system as long as there are moderators in this forum. In addition, you should report him in topics that already exist for situations like this as the FIFA worldcup has already mentioned.
3764  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: I have found a good Trading Course on: November 21, 2020, 02:34:11 PM
I haven't watched all the videos yet, but it seems to me that the channel offers a handful of free video lessons that are definitely good for any novice in trading.
Like you, I have often encountered a variety of unfamiliar terms on a regular basis. It is always a good idea to learn at least the fundamentals before any serious tradeing. This will make it easier for us to understand market dynamics and make better decisions.

Thanks for this valuable learning material.

3766  Local / Hrvatski (Croatian) / Re: Najbolja kripto kasina on: November 21, 2020, 01:05:08 PM

Poništiš transakciju, napraviš novi account i ajmo ponovo.

3767  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Bitwings promises smartphone that can mine 2 ETH/month. Ponzi scheme? on: November 21, 2020, 12:52:40 PM
the bitwings project is indeed a very long and long project. regardless of whether the result is achieved or not ieo. bitwings still has the minephone wx product which I think is good enough to buy. especially plus a bonus.
whether it can be sent to another country or not, we are waiting for the pre-order for the wx minephone.

"good enough to buy"? Ok, I don't think so. In terms of features and functionality, there are far better phones at far cheaper prices from well-known and recognized manufacturers and not some 'nameless' garbage we have here. And what do you mean by "especially plus a bonus"? A cloud mining contract? Trust me, you better take that money and invest directly in ETH.
3768  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Life, gambling and trials. on: November 21, 2020, 12:29:25 PM
You won't believe but I managed to win 80 LTC by having 5 LTC but I became too greedy and only cashed out only 50 LTC If i'm not mistaken I think I played a blackjack.

That's not bad at all! 50 LTC out of 5 LTC's initial investment is still 10x gain. If I were you, I'd probably gamble everything! Wink
3769  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: DIY Bowser Hardware Wallet on: November 21, 2020, 11:36:35 AM
This project simply is an offline storage on a small dedicated device. One could achieve the same on an old mobile, a laptop or any mini computer.
Not saying this is bad. But this, by definition, is not a hardware wallet.

I think we're stuck with semantics here. How do you define what the 'hardware wallet' is? Does every hardware wallet have a secure element? I don't think so.
In my humble opinion, this DIY project can be described as a hardware which can be used as a wallet. Is it a safer than the real hardware wallet? Of course it's not.
3770  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Life, gambling and trials. on: November 21, 2020, 09:40:06 AM
So, what do you guys do with the gambling money you get when you win the bet.

I'm a terrible gambler and an even worse loser. Every small win so far I've gambled again and then I've been depressed for a couple of weeks. I mean, I'd better get away from gambling altogether, but that's easier said than done. Smiley
3771  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Altcoin season probably won't happen like the past? on: November 21, 2020, 09:33:30 AM
More than 90% of altcoins are junk anyway, and we'd be better off without them. I don't think about whether or not any of them will fail. Those that are worth are going to live, and that's what's crucial.

3773  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is the heck is a private key...exactly? Someone help please. on: November 21, 2020, 08:09:41 AM
As in any other cryptography, you need a private/public key pair. The public key is used to encrypt, and the private key is used to decrypt messages.
So with cryptocurrencies, you sign a transaction with a private key to confirm its validity.
The primary function of a hardware wallet is to store your private keys away from anyone. They are secure from hackers because these devices are not connected to the internet. Private keys are often stored in the protected area of a microcontroller, PIN protected and by an optional passphrase, and cannot be transferred out of the device in plain text.
If you lose your hardware wallet, you can use the seed phrase to regenerate your private key, or you can transfer your private key to another devce. That is why it is important that the seed phrase is stored in a highly protected area. This is the most important piece of information that gives full access to your funds in your wallet.
3774  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Some till don't understand crypto and bitcoin on: November 21, 2020, 07:50:21 AM
SoftBank CEO said crypto will be useful but Bitcoin is hard to understand, but what is crypto without bitcoin? And again how is Bitcoin so hard to believe? Is there anyone on here is find bitcoin hard to understand? What's your thought on this?

I assume he was referring to the value of bitcoin. It's very hard for a banker to grasp. According to all the laws of their profession, bitcoin shouldn't have any value, which of course isn't true, so they're scratching their heads as they see the gains that investors have from cryptocurrencies.
3775  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: ✨ RounderCasino ✨ {$99 FREE} on: November 20, 2020, 10:06:39 PM
I've tried signing up and it was really quick but if you think you could get the instant $5 as what's explained on that link, you're wrong to think that. For the verification part they need Passport/Driver's License and for proof of address they need a Utility Bill. I guess that's an instant NO if I'm not wrong within the community, I just don't know to those risk takers and doesn't mind their personal informations.

LOL! You're right. It's an instant NO to me and I'm sure that many people here value their personal information as well.

Good luck with your promotion, RounderCasino! Wink
3776  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: DIY Bowser Hardware Wallet on: November 20, 2020, 09:11:45 PM
I don't know, I kinda like this idea. Of course, this is a DIY project for enthusiasts and not a competition to stock hardware wallets. I am sure that this wallet won't win the beauty contest nor will it be the safest wallet on the market. But anyone who has spent significant time creating something with their hands will appreciate this.
If we all felt that if a ready-made product could be purchased in a supermarket, it was not worthwhile to create anything, there would be no advancement in technology at all and the whole industry would stagnate. Engineers and programmers have created new technologies through collaboration since the early beginnings of computers. Knowledge needs to be spread, and collaborative creativity benefits the entire society.

3779  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Betnomi.com Scam on: November 20, 2020, 07:40:30 PM
Former employee asking for payment for a job he supposedly did.
Employer unhappy with the former employee's productivity and claims no job was actually accomplished.
Hard to say really which one is in the right or in the wrong since there is no tangible evidence of the work that was done [or not done].

I don't think we have the whole picture here.
For example, Sorsis (betnomi) avoids answering whether chat messages posted by OmenRain are authentic or not.

Then we have this:

After a brief discussion about his experience etc, it was clear this person is unqualified for this position,
...
We are a business and not a charity.

I wonder why he hired him in the first place? It should be noted that the agreement is not made for piecework pay but on a monthly basis.

In light of all these, we made the decision to part ways with him yesterday.

So, if he did hired him, then he is obliged to pay him until the moment of termination of the contract. That's the law.
