3762  Economy / Services / Re: [OPEN] [banned mixer] Signature Campaign | Up to 0.005 BTC/W on: March 21, 2022, 05:59:45 AM
Hi icopress, thanks for accepting me!

As I mentioned when signing up, I will only change the sig on Tuesday, as my current campaign week ends on Monday.
Thank you for your understanding.

As soon as it changes, I'll inform you and indicate the post I'm in, so I can start counting from that moment.

I'll do the same but one day later.
3763  Economy / Reputation / Re: Trust abuse on: March 20, 2022, 02:17:39 PM
I have been reading carefully and I think we are going to have a bit of drama, because although I think you raise valid points, he has a previous great reputation and I guess he will defend himself.

I think that in principle it is not right to leave positive feedback or include your alt in your trust list. I have remembered that LoyceV has an alt and he has neither left positive feedback (only neutral to reflect that it is his alt) nor has he included it in his trust list.

And apart from what LoyceV does, which as much as he knows he could be wrong, the inclusion of your alt, and thus being able to vote double and being able to leave double feedback that is reflected, being you a single person, does not seem right to me. If so, where would be the limit?

3764  Economy / Reputation / Re: Flag suchmoon ,he is a communist supporting communist ideology on: March 20, 2022, 11:27:40 AM
Perhaps suchmoon is a russian commie? I think she has an antidemocracy outlook. I wouldn't be surprised if she turns out to be a russian agent

He might be a commie but at least he/she has a brain. Can't say the same about you and OP.

I would rather say that his political thinking is generally left-wing but in matters of this forum and trust I trust him much more than I trust you two.

P.S: As you can see, I am far from being a commie:

Enjoy communism: Venezuela raises monthly minimum wage to $2.40

Enjoy communism (II): Venezuela to cut 6 zeros from its currency

Enjoy communism (III) rats eating dead people and people eating rats in NK

Those are somewhat old threads but you can see that my thinking hasn't changed:

The curious thing about those countries, communist, although they do not like to call themselves so, is that the rise to power of communist leaders came with a discourse against the rich and the unequal society.

In the end they end up with a more unequal society and with people going hungry, having to emigrate by the millions due to hunger and political repression etc.

History of Money

Came across this article which has been posted 13 years back, and I don't know whether it has been edited. I was astonished to see discussion about bitcoin and cryptocurrencies added to the article during those days.

It's definitely been edited because when talking about cryptocurrency it links to:

Your Intro Guide to Cryptocurrency

published on June 2021.

Not bad your summary about money. Money has been constantly evolving and I would argue that with technology the evolution has accelerated. I once heard Musk say that he was one of the people who best understands how money works because he created paypal. We also have gift cards, for example, which are not money but work as if they were in certain areas.

Today we are on a path towards the disappearance of cash, partly because new forms of payment (e.g. with cell phones) are more convenient, and partly because governments and banks are interested.  This was the wet dream of banks and governments until Bitcoin appeared, and then privacy coins were created.

Now they have counterattacked by planning the creation of CBDCs, but no matter what they do, whoever wants a space for privacy will always have it.

3766  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Should Casinos invest on endorsement from celebrities on: March 20, 2022, 04:49:30 AM
Well, if the particular casino has a budget to get a celebrity to endorse their site then that would be much better. Aside from other promotions and giveaways, having a celebrity endorser can be an effective way to spread awareness to gamblers. A celebrity has many fans that are following them, it can influence his/her gambler fans to also play on the site that he/she endorse because often these fans are following their idol from the product they use, services and also to what they do.

I think it depends on the gambler's experience, on how many years he/she has been playing. Normally someone who has been playing for years wants better conditions, promos, rakeback -which is a way to lower the HE in EV games- and doesn't care about the publicity celebrities do.

Someone who has not been playing for a long time is more more likely to be influenced by celebrities.
3767  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Its not official btc bull run now on: March 19, 2022, 04:02:48 PM
Even the prices going up now its not official btc bull run.
So many newbies think its official but its not official bull run as old members knows this month is not official bull run

How old are you? Because I have the impression that you are 16 years old and have no friends and that's why you spend all day flooding the forum with this kind of threads. If you had a paid signature I would still understand, you would do it for money, but not having a paid signature makes me think even worse.

Well there is those who have studied markets economics btc and finances and most important wall street.
And there is those who never learned about it.
But i know few are learned about here who can read instutions moves.

Please, post proof of all the money you have earned thanks to your wisdom and by the way some pictures of your yacht from where you post.

Eventually, with all the predictions you make, you'll get one right at some point, and then you'll say, "See, I said so...".

If the war is over soon, for example, well, I wouldn't be surprised if we had a bull run, but we are certainly not in one now, nor do we have any indication that one will happen soon, because we don't have a crystal ball, like you do.
3768  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: US Recovers And Returns Over $500,000 In Bitcoin Stolen From A Coinbase User on: March 19, 2022, 10:24:06 AM
Quote
The United States Attorney's Office has recouped more than $500,000 in Bitcoin stolen from an elderly citizen of North Carolina. The fraudsters purported to be from the Inspector General's Office. The victim invested his retirement assets in Bitcoin through a cryptocurrency exchange. The transaction was flagged as possibly being an elder financial fraud.

How can the government rehabilitate itself? I realize that an address may be tracked and monitored, but how about a return? How is that possible??

Source: https://bobosandwojaks.com/more-than-500000-in-bitcoin-stolen-from-a-coinbase-user-is-recovered-and-returned-by-the-us-government/

I believe that if you had carefully read the brief article you link to, you would have had a clear idea and you would not ask that question.

As I understand it, the money never left Coinbase. Coinbase identified that transaction as suspicious, blocked it, and alerted the FBI, who would then confirm that it was fraud. The article doesn't say it exactly like that, but that's how I understand it.
3769  Economy / Economics / Re: Is there a place in the world you could live like a king via sig campaigns? on: March 19, 2022, 08:04:38 AM
Don't take the signature campaigns as a main income. This is should be just a bonus for the time and effort spent on the forum but turning it into your main income, there are too many negative effects.

Hi mate, do you think The Pharmacist doesn't already know that? I think we all agree with that, he is talking about a hypothetical idea:

I'm asking this question seriously, though I'm going to qualify that by saying that I'm not planning on doing anything like this.  It's just a fantasy of mine...

In his response to my comment, he also talked about supplementing the income from signature campaigns with other sources of income.

First, spamming the forum because of the fulfilling of the minimum requirements often are quite high and if you have nothing to add to the conversation, you just post low effort posts and turn yourself to a spammer.

The Pharmacist is not going to become a shitposter all of a sudden, neither are you and I, no matter how much we have minimum posting requirements in our sig campaign, and in any case, in that hypothetical situation he would have more time to write, as we have been talking about, so I only see sense in your comment if it is directed to lower ranked members who are starting in this.

amazing... and to think I have denied every signature campaign that I have been asked to participate in. lol

Maybe because you only post in the collectibles section? Campaign managers usually want people spreading the posts all over the forum, not just one section.

Going back to the main point of the thread, I think that even though we are talking about a hypothetical situation it is interesting to always have options open, because you never know what can happen in the future. Being able to earn money only with a computer and an internet connection gives you a freedom of options, regardless of the sources of income you have are more or less stable. But having savings, plus 1 or 2 sources of good income gives you a freedom of choice that someone who only has a source of income from a job that requires physical presence does not have.

I have followed the thread and seen some interesting answers, what I was also thinking is that maybe if someone considers doing what The Pharmacist says in 5 years (assuming that there are still well paid campaigns by then) maybe there will be some country that has revealed itself as the best to go to that we do not take into account now. To give an example, if this thread had been written 5 years ago, El Salvador would not have been considered as much of an option as it may be now.
3770  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Forum boards and moderators. on: March 19, 2022, 05:31:03 AM
From what I recall, it has to do with the number of reports. If someone reports a lot in an accurate way, they can be considered for a moderator position, or at least that's what I read hilarious say if I remember correctly in a meta thread. So if you have that in mind, try to keep the forum clean by reporting.

I will never be one because I don't report much.
3771  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: We should forget that there'll be 21M BTC on: March 18, 2022, 06:27:25 PM
Individuals should completely disabuse themselves of the notion that there will ever be 21 million Bitcoins

Taking lost and inaccessible coins into consideration, as well as Satoshi's 1M BTC lockup, there will never be more than 14M BTC available. Coins that have been lost are irretrievable.
Wallets that have been locked are inaccessible. And who knows what will become of Satoshi's incarceration. This number will steadily drop as adoption expands, as additional people with bad discipline, a lack of responsibility, or an inability to pay attention will also lose their coins. Bitcoin is obviously highly cheap, but it becomes much more so when you consider the premise that only 21 million Bitcoins will ever be created. If the larger crypto community and the financial world were aware of this, Bitcoin's price would be considerably higher right now.

What do you think?

I'm going to leave aside the technical aspect, which I think has been masterfully explained by BlackHatCoiner, and go to the financial aspect: to be honest with you, what I think is that you are not right.

The market knows that Bitcoin has a limit of 21 million that cannot be exceeded (unless there is an improbable future consensus to change the limit) and that many have been lost, which is the same as saying that almost everyone who invests in Bitcoin knows this. This means that the current price of Bitcoin includes that restricted part of the supply, therefore what it needs to rise further is more demand, not that people understand that there is a limit to production or that many have been lost, as you argue.

2. Any coins that are sent to this address since this is the only address Satoshi claimed to own (sent 10BTC from it to Hal Finney).

Btw, I've had a look at that address and I see it receiving small sums, even recently. Are people supposedly sending "donations" to Satoshi?
3772  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: new opening of Bitcoin monetary era on: March 18, 2022, 09:46:12 AM
For example have they provided any proof of this claim? Like a signed message from address(es) containing $10 billion worth of bitcoin? I couldn't find any proof after looking a little.

I would go farther.

As the quest for Bitcoin mainstream and scalability get to the advance stage a lot of stable coins are now diving in into Bitcoin bullish market and backing their stable coin reserve with bitcoin and huge buying of Bitcoin for reserve.

Has the OP backed up his claim or was he simply carried away by the excitement of the news? It seems to me that it is the latter. OP, if there are a lot of stable coins doing that, it wouldn't hurt if you put up proof of it.
3773  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why Hoard Bitcoin? on: March 18, 2022, 06:50:53 AM
If Bitcoin is a better and higher currency than fiat, why then do bitcoiners hurdle it?
I think money is best used for buying and selling not hoarding, we get to see the value more when using it.
This my thoughts, wby?

It's just that "better" as you use it in this context is very imprecise. Bitcoin is more valuable than fiat currencies, it is a currency that has to appreciate and fiat currencies tend to depreciate. So if you have to make an expense, what are you going to do, spend the good currency (Bitcoin) and save the fiat currency? What you would do in that case is to impoverish yourself. If, on the other hand, you spend the bad currency and save the Bitcoin you will tend to get richer.
3774  Economy / Speculation / Re: BITCOIN will rise on: March 18, 2022, 04:09:14 AM
Shocking bitcoin supply on centralized exchange, less and fewer bitcoins are stored and traded on CEX exchange.
The number of holders from 1-10 BTC has increased a lot (orange line) in the past 2 weeks.
The market has endured more than 4 months of decline, are we preparing for a new bullish season?

I remember in the last 6 months hearing news like that several times just before the price dropped.

Chain analysis can only help us get a good grasp at how supply moves; but it doesn't give us a clear picture of the potential demand — which is what actually mostly matters when talking about markets. Can't really have accurate expectations with supply alone.

Sure, that's the problem with taking a single statistic as the sole factor in determining price increase or decrease.

A new bull season 5 months after reaching the last ATH? I understand that during a price increase, many begin to believe that this will always be the case, but let's be realistic. The market must someday enter a long crypto winter, there is no eternal growth. Yes, Glassnode is constantly reminding you that exchange wallet balances are declining, but we have one more metric to consider, which is the unrealized losses of investors who are under water for a long time.
...
Despite the fact that long-term investors are in no hurry to sell their coins, most of the coins of short-term investors are at a loss, which is $ 2,500,000. And as you know, it is short-term investors who have the most selling pressure, so I would not be so happy about the new bullrun, since not all weak hands sold their coins.

Good analysis. While we can never know for sure, I think you and I agree that it is quite unlikely that we will go over $69K this cycle. I remember after the January 2018 price drop that there was a lot of analysis justifying why the Bitcoin price was going to rise again and surpass $20K, which was true, but 4 years later. The current situation looks like the same thing. We will surpass $70K but around 2025 unless we have some very bullish events for Bitcoin before then, like some major country implementing El Salvador type legislation or the world's largest capitalization companies announcing they are buying Bitcoin for their reserves.
3775  Economy / Economics / Re: PayPal started working in Ukraine on: March 18, 2022, 04:00:16 AM
We saw a lot of donations to Ukraine, but I would guess that they come from crypto enthusiasts and not people who specifically bought crypto to donate it to Ukraine, because they decided it's the best method to send money to Ukraine. So, crypto adoption for payments/remittance is not growing as fast as some people might imagine.

Well, I think that all the help that can reach people in need is good, no matter if it comes with paypal or crypto. You are probably right but there will be people who will have known about crypto in Ukraine because of the conflict, if only because they have heard that some of the help has come in crypto. If you used to see cryptocurrencies as something rare associated with fraud and scams but today you got help paid with crypto, surely tomorrow you are going to be more open minded towards them.

The road to mass adoption is slow, with a few small nudges, and this is one more small nudge.
3776  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: 1$ per day crypto investment plan any good ? on: March 18, 2022, 03:48:50 AM
It's better to invest weekly to cut down the sending fee to your custodial wallet every day, 1 dollar every day is 7 dollars per week which still makes sense.

Finally, minimize transactions. You don't have to buy every after few days or weekly. You can do the buying every couple of months or even more.

Are you going to literally buy 1$ worth of Bitcoin on a daily basis? Don't you have to pay more fees this way (fees and stuff)  which makes this method unprofitable.

$1 per day? I suggest for you to keep that $1 until it reaches $100.

Etc.

Regarding what you say, I suspect the OP is buying Bitcoin, or rather a Bitcoin derivative product like Paypal, Revolut, etc. That way it doesn't matter what the inputs are. If he pays 1% he doesn't care if he pays 1% of $1 30 times than 1 time a month 1% of $30.

Let's see if he comes back here and clarify doubts, although I'm afraid this is going to be another case in which the OP asks a question and then does not come back to comment on the thread.
3777  Other / Archival / Re: Husires - Abuse of creating duplicate themes on: March 17, 2022, 06:21:39 PM
What it seems is that if he is doing it to get more merits he has not done well because in the great majority of duplicated (or multiplied) threads, he has not gotten any merit.

Now what is not clear to me is what is going to happen with him. I think that because of this questionable way of acting he could be red tagged, because although we are not talking about trades, someone who acts like this does not seem to be trustworthy. Another thing is if the moderators will do something, because he constantly breaks unofficial rule 12, and with this I think that at least he could get a warning.

Maybe a rule against creating multiple duplicate posts, but given that he first locks, deletes or moves the other topic to archival board. I am not sure how it would apply.

Let's see if a moderator comes by and tells us, but I think it's clear from the behavior that he knows he's doing something questionable, and is trying to hide it.
3778  Other / Meta / Re: Mods are not around or things has changed in terms of report handling on: March 17, 2022, 05:56:32 PM
I do not report a lot but I don't think anything has changed regarding moderation. I reported some posts this week and they were handled but the thing is, some reports can remain unhandled forever, and that doesn't mean moderators are not around or anything.
3779  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: 1$ per day crypto investment plan any good ? on: March 17, 2022, 01:48:49 PM
Is 1$ investment in crypto every day enough? I'm making up to 10$ per day and I don't want something that will tie me down financially since I have other things I'm using the money for aka responsibilities so all I can afford is 1$ per day, also is BTC the best option with this 1$ per day?

My friend, there are many things you are not telling us, and we cannot give you a proper answer without you giving more details. I understand that maybe you don't want to give too many details for privacy, but an adequate answer to your question depends on:

1) Your age.
2) Your current and projected future salary.
3) Where you live.
4) Savings/investments to date.
5) Debts.
6) Subtracting 5) from 4) will give you your net worth.

So, the question of whether a $1 investment is ideal is not going to have the same answer for someone who has an annual salary of $100K and a net worth of $500K as it would for someone who has an annual salary of $15K and barely makes ends meet.

Going to your specific case, from what little you say, it seems that this is the maximum you can invest. So, the question is: do you have an emergency fund for contingencies? If the answer is no, allocate that money to save at least one month's expenses and after that invest 1$ daily or $30 monthly.

It would be necessary to see if you also have debts, but well, if you want to give us more details and we will advise you.
3780  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: March 17, 2022, 01:38:59 PM
Having survived numerous lockdowns and self-isolations over the last couple of years and now not being able to travel or work anymore having shunned the vaccine, I can sympathize with him.  If not vaccinated against covid, I would be unable to board my private jet, train or yacht.  As much of the "free" world has discovered recently, freedom has a way of routing one out and embracing them wherever they may reside. So glad I live in the free world.
Unfortunately, Bitcoin and a Binance card doesn't fix this.  I guess I should be thankful that I can still travel to those parts of my country which are accessible by car.

Hey man, you can travel to many countries, especially in Europe, without having been vaccinated. The only thing you will have to present is either a negative PCR or an antigen test, also negative, but you can travel without vaccination.

But I get the idea, in many countries vaccination was not obligatory but so many restrictions were placed on the unvaccinated that it was almost like an obligation.

La revedere, prietene.
