I have heard about it, and especially in case 1: 1. Ideas from the book “Fooled by Randomness.” There are many ideas that boil down to the fact that we often mistake randomness for a pattern.
This is something I keep repeating. Patterns are human constructs that we plot to understand random series of events, and they are patterns that get shattered as we get more data from the series. I know some of his words, but number 1 certainly resonates with me on a personal level.
I often get fooled by certain events that happened in succession with the same outcome thinking that all of it was forming a pattern of some sort. This is what I thought of in dice games but little did I know that these are nothing but random events forming similar outcomes. I thought for a second that I could make some money off it, and when it happened for 3 times, I was certain that the next roll would be in my favor (high). I went all in and bam, I just lost all my bankroll because it rolled low.
In order for this not to happen to you, apart from understanding about patterns you should understand about mathematical expectation. If there is any “pattern” there it is that you were having too much luck, to put it in colloquial terms, not that you were on a streak that could continue. |

Do you by chance consider these features when assessing and selecting which casinos to join and play on?
No, I don't consider it and in terms of poker they are not usually the best. 2plus2 is much better than the Pokerstars forum, for example. I imagine that the houses do it to cover the social component but if you want to look for the best information you better do it outside the house. |

Converting 33.3 BTC to a dust, 1 satoshi, is crazy.
That's what I don't understand. Aren't small amounts like this, considered as dust can't be sent in a valid transaction? Regardless of this, paying that much seems like bullshit to me, and the assumption is that the one paying is because he expects that fucking satoshi to be worth more in the future. |

Hey dkbit98, on the other forum you say the only positive they had was mine. I don't know if it's a matter of your custom trust list but julerz12 is on DT2 and had also left positive feedback for them. Maybe someone should let him know about this too.

It is not whether it is necessary or not. Good inflation indicates economic growth but what we have today is high inflation due to the devaluation of the currency and the indebtedness of the states. For example, the same wouldn't happen if we used gold as a currency instead.
This is false. Already since Roman times the rulers found a way to devalue the currency by introducing copper alloys and other metals, but people soon realized it and prices went up. |

What is clear to me is that if Samourai wallet were to somehow become able to operate it was not going to be able to have an Ann thread on Bitcointalk, nor a signature campaign either. For sig campaigns there are only exchanges and casinos. And let's hope they don't go after them in the future as well.

There is one other thing I saw in the DoJ report that you don't cite, that they were bragging about working for “grey and black markets”, so they were acknowledging working for illegal activities. If you simply defend privacy and work for it, surely you can defend yourself better when you are accused of money laundering, at least with that of plausible deniability, saying that you offer privacy and you don't know if any of your many honest customers is a criminal.

If you knew that gambling sites were just a place to spend your free time, you wouldn't think of having any other purpose than just having fun. After all, we gamble for fun and not to make money. If your goal is to get money from gambling, it doesn't seem right because it's not easy to get money from gambling.
That's not the point, it's precisely the possibility of winning money that makes gambling fun. The problem is not so much getting money from it as being aware that the odds are against you and that, although in some sessions you may end up positive, in the long run you are going to lose money. Nobody should sell you a system to beat the house, such as Martingale, because they are bullshit. |

The OP does not understand basic economic issues, such as that a product cannot cost the same in a country where the product is easily and abundantly produced as it does in a country that does not produce it and has to import it. Nor in a country where it is in high demand than in a country where it is not.

I don't know the specific case of Canada but I'm sure it happens like in most of the world: the moment you use bitcoin to buy something else, be it cryto, gold or whatever is a taxable event. It does not happen like in investment funds in some countries that you can make transfers without paying taxes until you convert the funds to money.

I don't think so, some investors may have been attracted by the halving, but after it I think interest in Bitcoin will continue to grow. There are many reasons to invest in Bitcoin and especially retail investors will come with the price rise we are already half experiencing from the bull market. |

This because it's an anonymous forum and most people reading the OP's post already have Bitcoin but it's not very smart to go recommending things like that out there. People let them make their economic decisions and stay out of it. Just relax, Bitcoin is good enough that demand will continue to rise over time, and whoever doesn't buy it, that's up to them.

Well I think the biggest mistake is to start betting on a site because they have seen the advertising without having checked the reputation of the same, and that is a site like 1xBit, which will end up scammed their money. The bad thing is that their advertising is everywhere and if one does not check the opinions and accusations of scam before depositing, as happens many times, ends up falling for the trap.

The same as when I win. Keep playing the same, what matters are the long term results, not having won or lost a single day. What does happen is that after many negative sessions in a row, what is known as a bad streak can affect you psychologically and you can start to make worse decisions because of it. If so it is better to play less and study the game more.
