3761  Economy / Exchanges / Re: What is with Bitmex???? on: December 01, 2020, 09:02:18 AM
There have been a slew of ambulance chasing lawsuits filed against the unregulated exchanges like Bitmex and Bitfinex.

Dude, you're honestly putting Bitmex and Bitfinex in the same bucket here? Have you ever actually conducted a trade before? Bitmex isn't an exchange. You're not actually exchanging anything for anything. Try it. I dare you. Like I said earlier in this thread, you're just buying fun tokens at an arcade, hoping to win the big prize so you can cash it out for as much or more than you put in. But mainly you're just paying for the experience of "fun" as you can't deposit or withdraw anything other than BTC.

It's all well and good that they can stick another Young Old guy in there, and now this one has legit stock market industry cred, but this isn't gonna solve their problems of breaking a shitload of laws.

https://www.coindesk.com/bitmex-risks-for-defi

Quote
The government alleges BitMEX’s “maze” of offshore entities was meant to obscure its significant contacts with the U.S. Despite being registered in the Seychelles, BitMEX allegedly has no physical presence there, but does have many subsidiaries and affiliates in the U.S.  The CFTC also points out:

- Approximately half of BitMEX’s workforce is based in the U.S.
- It developed and runs its website in the U.S.
- One founder allegedly lived in the U.S.
- Another founder, while residing abroad, owns his interest through a Delaware LLC and has a U.S. bank account
- BitMEX actively solicited and marketed to U.S. residents through participation in industry events and the development of a bounty program for U.S. users

thats not me niggas, what all of you stupid weirdos are talking
Not really my type of music, but I find it very appropriate for this Smiley

Shaggy -  It Wasn't Me

To understand Rambotnic, you just need to reverse everything that he says, and then you will see what the truth actually is.

"That's me caucasians, what all of you smart squares are talking"

He does so much projecting, I wouldn't be surprised if he's actually some fat gay kid from Russia as that is what he used to accuse everybody of being before he decided to become black. (American urban black or East London black? He kind of muddles the lingo of the two cultures together.)
3763  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: PayPal is sending the wrong message on: December 01, 2020, 05:37:15 AM
I'll state a somewhat controversial view: Forcing everyone who's *only* interest in Bitcoin is number-may-go-up to do the whole self-custody thing is bad for Bitcoin.

Not everyone needs, realizes they need, or is ready for what Bitcoin provides.  Yet they still may not want to get left behind on the price action.  If you force someone who doesn't want to use Bitcoin to use it they will likely have a bad experience just like anyone forced to do anything else-- they'll do it poorly, they'll lose their coins, they'll blame bitcoin, and they'll demand changes to the ecosystem that bend bitcoin to the need of price-action-only-use to the detriment of other uses.

I hadn't considered this, and it does make sense -- these are probably the same types of people who would be buying a few shares of a Bitcoin ETF if it existed, along with a much bigger demographic of younger people who are only tangentially interested in Bitcoin.

I'm pretty sure PayPal said their end goal was to eventually roll out full-fledged crypto support, including send/receive and as a method of payment. They're just doing things one step at a time. This is similar to how etoro rolled out crypto support... for the longest time you could just trade it and eventually they added a withdrawal option (though its still not incredibly easy).
3764  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Loan Default - asu u=519783 on: December 01, 2020, 05:16:53 AM

Great, this is wholly off-topic. Start your own thread about it.

Edit: we already had this exact same thing happen already except replace asu with TheYoungMillionaire. Here's a place for Timelord to carry out his investigation:

Timelord2067's Investigation (TYM's Scandal)
3765  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Loan Default - asu u=519783 on: December 01, 2020, 04:45:47 AM
Beware of finaleshot2016 people - they're engaging in Default Trust abuse:

Same goes for cabalism13's DT Trust abuse:

"How is that trust abuse?" he asked, fully believing he would get some sort of reasonable reply. The thread banter was amounting to off-topicness, but surely an answer to his question was not unwarranted.

Timelord had a habit of hurling accusations at various members of the forum who had very little - if anything - to do with subject of the topic he was responding in. Nutildah wasn't sure what compelled Timelord to do this, but he'd seen a lot of odd behavior over the years, so nothing was too surprising anymore.
3766  Other / Archival / Re: OldSamurai is an alt of scammer/fake escrow impersonator Boombl4 + Rambotnic on: December 01, 2020, 03:51:42 AM
He's just scammed again, this time as ParleFrance:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5295180.0

If I would tagged him a few days earlier I coulda prevented this person from being scammed... don't know what I was thinking by giving him a chance even for just a few days.

So long as this douchebag keeps finding new people to scam, he'll keep coming back here. I don't know why people would ever just trust some entirely anonymous person with no reputation whatsoever with their bitcoin. Either way, I wish he'd find people to teach a lesson to elsewhere.
3767  Economy / Reputation / Re: Abusing The Bitcointalk Trust System For Personal And Selfish Interests on: December 01, 2020, 03:27:54 AM
It's a great style for a bump post, they appreciate art and aesthetics (topics far beyond your paygrade I know  Wink ), they must have liked it, so they copied it,

for a while we were working together on a few things, so they were asking me for lots of advice on style and writing, etc.

It is a bit weird, though, how they copied your profile ID and Telegram as well... wouldn't you say? They didn't think to at least substitute those bits of information for their own?

Also "they" must have taken English lessons from you because Bounty Detective sounds like Vispilio e.g. here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5289777

Vispilio does have good English but Bounty Detective doesn't really have enough written material to make an apt comparison between the two. I'd say Bounty Detective using Vispilio's telegram and profile ID is weird enough by itself.
3768  Economy / Reputation / Re: Abusing The Bitcointalk Trust System For Personal And Selfish Interests on: November 30, 2020, 09:17:47 PM
Can someone stop this bored housewife from stalking me across the forum, it's getting just a little bit obsessive, and you know, totally insane...

Imagine you are a new crypto enthusiast reading the forum, and you see one of the most popular and active members, with an artificial green trust sheet and gigantic amount of cycled merits,

spew so much toxic hatred and false accusations day in day out, how would you feel about including yourself in such a forum ?

For the wellness of Bitcointalk, administration should put a check on the likes of ~suchmoon and similar cultists...

Are you Bounty Detective?

If so, not only have you been sending merits to yourself and trusting yourself, but you've apparently enrolled yourself in your own campaign. I guess that's not entirely unethical if you were up front about it from the start. But after all it is the HEX campaign and I don't really care what happens to Richard Heart's money.
3769  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Loan Default - asu u=519783 on: November 30, 2020, 03:27:16 AM
That sucks bro, sorry to hear that happened. Maybe there's a chance he'll still find a way to repay you, as its of course the right thing to do. Looking at the address he uses for sig campaigns its a Coins.ph address and its been seeing some transactions recently, so it would appear he's avoiding you.

Edit: like the guy above says, its a Coins.ph address, and he sent coins directly there from his 1Asu address, so there's a chance they can help you out...
3770  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The American Football Discussion Thread 🏈🏈 on: November 29, 2020, 09:24:12 PM
Man, what a blowout in the LV / Atlanta game. Carr wasn't playing very well and gave up some turnovers... Way too many penalties by the Raiders D. Just overall a shit game to watch all the way until now (its still going). My other two games won but this will teach me to include the Raiders in a parlay.

I like this one, its weird.

reminds me of this:

3772  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🏈🏈 The American Football Discussion Thread 🏈🏈 on: November 28, 2020, 04:52:22 AM
But there is still a home advantage imo, because it's not all the about crowd, which we were discussing here. Playing at home - even without spectators - you still have the advantage of not having to travel, staying in your usual environment, being familiar with the facilities; in general the feeling of being at home basically.

Word. This is a good point actually and I was glossing over the details in my assessment. When I see teams with even just 1/5 full stadiums I have a positive psychological response because its just a trace of normality that lets me enjoy the game w/o thinking about covid. Perhaps its not cost effective for some stadiums to run at 1/5 capacity, and there's not much more that people can do right now to change that besides try hard not to get covid, lol.

Anyway.

I have a few semi-confident to confident picks this week, gonna put the ML for each team in at a parlay, but I also like the lines for these games, going by each team's overall ATS % wins:

Cleveland -7
Miami -7
Las Vegas -3

The one I feel least confident about is Miami because it comes down to whether Tagovailoa is starting QB or not. As of now he's listed as questionable with a thumb injury, but I'm thinking that he's gonna start.

This was posted in the Bitcointalk Community Awards thread. This has to be a bot, right?

I think ANN will grow stronger and be known by many people around the world, wish ANN a great success

ANN Coin... The utility token of the Altcoin Announcements section of the forum. You don't get to post in or update ANNs without paying a few ANNs.

Edit: this is actually a pretty good idea, somebody get theymos in here.
3774  Economy / Reputation / Re: you forgot to reserve the 2nd and 3rd spots, nullius is a wee bit of a cunt on: November 27, 2020, 11:12:27 PM
Wtf happened to that nice young man anyway?  Did he get hit by the Biden bus or something? Asking for a friend....

He disappeared back in July or August I think. If I was a really snarky cunt I would observe that this coincided with the end of his signature campaign but I'm obviously above such pettiness so I assume he found more important things in life than wasting time on this forum.

You're actually more optimistic than me here. He never struck me as the kinda guy who would just give up his account and walk away entirely. He had pretty high blood pressure after all... maybe he was in the middle of angrily pounding out a response to somebody about Ukraine and Hunter Biden and he had an aneurysm or something.
3775  Other / Meta / Re: Is it possible to unblock an account? on: November 27, 2020, 11:18:19 AM
Wow, that was pretty unexpected! Well I hope this guy goes on to develop the next... whatever... and makes the best use of his revival from the dead.
3776  Economy / Speculation / Re: Calling top at $16500 (Even Newer!: $2483 bottom 19 Feb 2021 MtGox said so!) on: November 27, 2020, 11:13:26 AM

Dear sgbett,

For some parts (you'll have to do your best to determine what goes where): Hmm... I see... OK... Well I see what you're saying, and now that I think about it I don't like it when people are dicks to me in my threads either, so I apologize for being abrasive.

Other parts: My honest opinion is you've fallen down some sorts of conspiracy rabbitholes after rabbitholes and I acknowledge there's not much I can say to change your mind, so Imma bow out and let you have at it.

Let's agree to disagree as the kids say, and peace out.

I can't believe the cowboys got annialated at home by Washington.

I can. Dallas is simply awful this year. I mean their quarterback is Andy Dalton, who was fired from the NFL's worst team of my lifetime. Also, home field advantage is negligible this year for teams with empty stadiums (Ty pointed that out before the season started if memory serves). I was kind of rooting for Washington anyway. Hopefully they'll find a new name for next year's season!
3779  Other / Archival / Re: OldSamurai is an alt of scammer/fake escrow impersonator Boombl4 + Rambotnic on: November 27, 2020, 04:48:35 AM
Somehow I found this guy as well: antikonti

After 5 minutes of research I'm about 80% sure this is also Rambotnic! He's been inactive for a few years but why not add it to his list of known alts.

i don't see how chernakotka11 or this gmail is connected with me ?
funny how the guy requested monbux then talking about email escrowing consider its noted that it should be used only via PM, now he claim that im the one requesting anything over email.
consider he posted his email public, EVERYONE can send him pm claiming to be me, or monbox.
Not sure why and how he connect me with those guys who clearly trying to scam him which is not my fault.
The version is a variant of the hypothesis, and without valid proof, any hypothesis are just imaginary story based on no proofs.

Jesus Christ. I think this guy pretended to be Monbux more often than Monbux was actually an escrow. This guy has been doing this forever! It's a bit irresponsible of Monbux for leaving his escrow thread open all these years even though he's no longer an active escrow.
3780  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: IOTA on: November 27, 2020, 01:07:10 AM
I have a serious question: does IOTA actually do anything in the real world as of now or is it all about what it supposedly can do? I tried really hard to get what its all about and I still don't... I don't see or understand how they are offering improvements on any pre-existing system or technology.
