Any new news regarding the return of LeBron James?
I read in some sites that he is expected to return to play in approximately 3 weeks!

I hope this is true, LeBron was absent, the Lakers missed him, because LJ makes a huge difference in the team
Initially, I expected that James needs less time to recover, but his recovery is prolonged, considering that he is already inactive for more than three weeks. It looks like he will need approximately another three weeks to recover after the injury. By the way, Davis will probably return to play in the next 10 to 14 days.
Rumors Smiley

Yes, 2-3 weeks to be on the safe side. Since Davis is out, 25 games the team are 12-13, and then without Lebron 11 games 5-6, at least they are still holding up without the 2 super stars and Drummond providing the points for the team.

They will be facing a dangerous New York Knicks, who just won against the Raptors. But they are on a back to back, as the Lakers is rested. So it's going to be a good match, Drummond and Randle going at each other in the middle.
3762  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Ancajas vs Rodriguez - April 10th on: April 11, 2021, 10:16:21 AM
Good win but it was not very easy, and I would say that there is ring rust for Anjas. Nevertheless, he dig deeper and I would say that it will be a difficult fight if ever he fights Chocolatito or Estrada as those are volume punchers and doesn't seems to be tired.

But anyway, congrats to Filipinos again for this win, they still have a world champion and to Mark Magsayo as well who knock out Pablo Cruz in the fourth round. Double win for Filipinos.
3763  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tips on how to place sports bets on: April 11, 2021, 09:51:44 AM
Sports betting? Maybe if I can odd, know the teams that you are betting, specially before the game.

You have to check the line up if they are complete or someone gets injured and doubtful to start specially star players. This could really spell from winning and losing your bet. If you do pre game betting and base your bet that the team is fully healthy and the star players are going to play. But during the start of the game, for unknown reasons the star players gets injured or decided to rest and not play.

Maybe the odds will chance at the last minute, just saying.
3764  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2021 NBA Season on: April 11, 2021, 09:24:02 AM
The Lakers without AD and James won the Nets by 25 points. It looks like Drummond turned out to be very useful for the Lakers, considering that he has made two double-doubles in a row after injury. Did someone bet on the Lakers? What were the odds?

I thought of betting on Nets but I changed my mind. I'm very happy to do that now.  Grin

Lebron and Davis both were absent in this game but still Lakers did a great job by defeating Nets. Durant and Irving were in the game but they couldn't prevent the loss. But they didn't play for a very long time in this.

I'm one of those who think that Nets will win by double digits, bet (-10.5) at 1.93. Never thought that it will be the other way around as the Lakers really covered and win by a whopping 25 points. Good for those who bet on the Lakers.

Nevertheless, we can't get away that Nets is still the favourite to win the championship this season. But this game proved that other teams players very good, then defense and then the big 3 having an off night, they are beatable. For sure Nets, has learned their lessons for this Lakers defeat.
3765  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Joe Smith Jr. vs Maxim Vlasov WBO Light Heavyweight Title on: April 10, 2021, 10:04:43 AM
^^ Nice odds for Maxim Vlasov, huge underdog but he can upset Smith Jr here.

As I have said, not familiar with any of them, so the only choice for me is to go for the underdog because of the attractive odds.  Smiley

All Russians for the next LHW title fight? that will be awesome, but Beterbiev will have the advantage if the two fought.

Very interesting news from the tennis world: ''Toni Nadal, the uncle and former coach of 20-time Grand Slam champion Rafael Nadal, has joined the coaching team of Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime.''
''Uncle Toni'' has practically coached Nadal from the very beginning of his tennis career until 2017 and I'm really surprised that he will now be coaching another tennis player.
Can he create a new tennis champion?

Source: https://www.bbc.com/sport/tennis/56681542

I think Felix Auger-Aliassime really needs a good coach as this point of his career. He is somewhat on the borderline, he could be a good tennis player but it seems he lack something. So I would a agree that getting an experience coach like Toni Nadal will help him a lot if he wanted to go on the next level.

And I'm pretty sure though that Nadal has given the blessing for Uncle Toni to move and coach other tennis player. As far as whether he can create a new tennis champion? We will see, I'm sure he will give tons of advise based on his experience with Rafa here. So let's just hope for the best for Felix Auger-Aliassime moving forward.
3767  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2021 NBA Season on: April 10, 2021, 08:57:07 AM
How about Zion’s play tonight! That kid is becoming the superstar everyone knew he could be. A career high in rebounds tonight to go along with a win over the 76ers and thirty-seven points. Only the second player in NBA history to go 35-15-5 by that age...

Yeah, this kid is no more hype I would say, when he enter the league there's a lot of hype around him, then injury sets in. But once he goes back, he slowly adjusted to the tough NBA games, and I would say that the hype is for real as he is blossoming into a true star. It's a huge win for them, specially beating one of the top teams in the East. True Shaq numbers, I do hope that he will continue to be this dominant and see him getting into his prime.
3768  Economy / Speculation / Re: It's not the end, $60k again on: April 10, 2021, 08:25:19 AM
After reaching ~$62000, BTC had a pullback and now again it got backed to $61k again. Many have shorted at this price, I had too (long ago). But it doesn’t seem stopping anytime soon. If I can remember, @100trillion twitter account posted few times that we are very early stage of the bullrun. We may see a huge bull of another few more months, very likely this whole year. If he is true (till now, he is very true), I think we will soon see the $100k mark.

Majority of these "experts" predictors really see $100k at the end of the year or at least this is doable. The current lowest low is around $56k this month, and then after that we have been trading sideways, or a period of accumulation. So that's a sign that we might see the price really reaching all time high for this month. Probably $70k for this month.

What do you think? Is it still a good time to get in?

Probably is, but for majority the price is too expensive, might as well be just stacking sats through DCA.
3769  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are There Drug Options for Gamblers' Disorderlyness? on: April 09, 2021, 11:35:51 AM
I'm not really sure if there is a direct link between gambling addiction and a certain drug to cure it.

However, I might be thinking that addicts in the beginning of their gambling withdrawal should be given like a drug for depression because for sure they will go on this bout. I'm not a doctor though, so it's better to really visit and talk to a medical professional, best of luck to you and your friend.
3770  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bloomberg predicting BTC reaching $400K in 2021 on: April 09, 2021, 09:59:06 AM
This demonstrates how public opinion is generally improving.
No, this only shows that yet again the media is printing anything that could get people to go to their website and read it, aka click-baits. And since we are in a bull market printing articles about how price is going to be [blank] where [blank] is any arbitrary high number is getting the most attention. They do the exact opposite in bear market!

Hah, it's 2017 all over again, crypto media at its worst again, recycling old news for click-bait, win-win for them. So let's see how this prediction will go, $100k is the top most predictions by most so called "experts". But what if it burst sooner and this predictions was a bust.

For sure there will be a lot specially newbies blaming everyone but themselves. Bloomberg though might have filled their bags with BTC already.  Smiley

It would be interesting what is currently going on with Dominic Thiem, he has also canceled Monte Carlo and does not feel really fit. The 4th placed in the ranking list has a mixed year so far and is not really getting going forward.

I think he has a foot injury that keeps bothering him and maybe that's the reason why he cancelled entering the Monte Carlo tournament. He also mentioned that it is nothing serious, so I speculated that he just needed some rest to heal the injury.

Just hoping that the French Open will continue as plan, calendar days this year for tennis tournaments have been delayed already.

Dominik also cancelled after Monte Carlo also Barcelona, i hope he is 100% fit for the French Open. About French open, it's officially the French open are postponed a week later.

https://nationalpost.com/pmn/health-pmn/tennis-french-open-postponed-to-may-30-amid-covid-19-crisis-3

But I'm not sure, a week is sufficient?

If I remember correctly, Australian Open was postponed for two weeks because the organisers really need to assure that everything is in place as far as safety protocols in concern.

But with the French Open, I personally think it will not be suffice for a postponement of 1 week unless they can the people to help them out. This could come from the government or maybe some volunteers or private individuals. Two weeks could be a safe bet (like the Australian Open), again establish everything and make certain that everyone will be safe inside and outside of tennis arena.

I also think that a week is not enough. If I remember correctly, France, especially Paris, was sent to another strict lockdown with no prospect of when it would be resolved again. Also with the arrival there will probably be difficulties at the moment, whether this will be solved in 3 or 4 weeks?

Thanks, two weeks or even three will be enough I think for the organisers to have a good plan to have the French Open ready because of the health concerns. Specially if they will allow fans to watch the games live, there should be in total control of everything.

So let's see how it will pan out, players and fans are eagerly awaiting.

@Juggy777 - they really need to balance financial gains and the success (and failure) of the tournament to push as schedule.
3772  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2021 NBA Season on: April 09, 2021, 08:56:18 AM
Bubble is different from the current season of the NBA, it will never happen again, and this season, I did not see the Heat will advance in the NBA Finals. Honestly, I believe that they have not improve their line up but Nets and other teams have already improve.

Sorry for Heat fans, I'm also a fan before but trying to be honest with my opinion on their real chance this season.
That chance got lower.
Victor Oladipo right knee is hurt again. There's no update yet with their medical team but it was the same knee that made him miss a the 2019-2020 season.
They are still at number 6, all they is need is maintain that rank.
Coach Spoelstra is making changes and it can be seen in minutes per game. More for Herro less for Dragic.
Dragic is not helping much anymore, 0/4 at 3point and 5 turnovers which is the highest in the team.
Give the kid more experience and he will make buckets.  Grin

That's bad news for Miami, but in any case, they have been a solid team without Oladipo though, as long as the core is healthy like Bam and Butler. Dragic was contributing more in the playoffs, maybe coach Spo is just giving Herro his time and exposure to gain experience. But I do agree that somewhat Dragic game has fallen sharply. Maybe something is bothering him.

And if ever Herro gain that experience, it's hard to stop this kind once his outside shooting clicks. He just need to learn not to commit useless fouls though, as I have observed that he is making a lot. Specially fouling someone going into the basket and giving 2 free throws.

3774  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin had its best Q1 performance this year since 2013 on: April 08, 2021, 09:17:37 AM
Bitcoin is not a stock, so quarterly performance measurements are pretty pointless, there's no fundamental connection between times of the year and Bitcoin's price. No one should use this as any sort of indicator for their trading.

Yea, but they can use this to see how far bitcoin can get, just by HODLing.

And I can't say that we are going to be bullish like 2013, different time frames, different set of investors, numbers are quite few, less exchanges, etc. etc. Mentality of traders and speculators has also matured this year, I think less is FOMO, and most probably just buying the dip, and then put it in their wallet. No more putting large amounts of bitcoin in an exchange, not a good practice in this bull run.

Let's hope that this bull cycle will continue up to the end of the year, and we can smell $100k.
3775  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2021 NBA Season on: April 08, 2021, 08:56:09 AM
Everyone from the rotation scores! A much dangerous Nets after KD's comeback!

Expect that handicap to soar high, very tough to bet against this team if they continue playing like this, with almost all can take you outside and those who penetrate are also got a high chance of making and1.
Welcome back KD then next Harden and Jordan, Ohh Wow! That's the expectations!
No one can complain about their performance here.
All the negativity before just fades away after this game.
I have the assumption that it will not work because of lack of chemistry. Nets had been adding new players in their roster and that doesn't work most of the times.
But for this team, it did work.
Ball rotation is there, they are not selfish and trust the other guy to contribute for their offense.
Assists stats 37 Nets against 23 Pelicans. What more if Harden is playing?  Shocked

We can also praise coach Nash for doing a beautiful job so far. I guess being a player himself, he can relate to all of this high caliber players and bring team to a common goal, which is to win the NBA championship this year.

It is still a long way to go, yes they will be the favourite now, but for sure other teams will want to beat team and prove that they are not invincible even with that celebrated line up of 3 superstar + a lot of good  caliber players.
3776  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Haney vs Linares - May 29 on: April 08, 2021, 08:23:09 AM
This is a most watch match, we have waited for this for so long linares age not withstanding he will battle to remain the world light weight champion.  young Haney have brought the challenge I believe he is prepared for this fight.

It will be hard pressed for Linares to capture the belt again, there are a lot of young blood in that division. I agree that this might be the biggest test for Haney at this point of his career, as Jorge Linares has the experience. But his age could be the biggest factor here. He has to fight a young Haney who I think is about in the peak while he is on the downside.

Odds will be good for Linares here, but it's hard to see how he can win against a young Haney who wants to prove that he should be considered among the best in the pretty much stack up lighweight division.
3777  Economy / Speculation / Re: Altcoins pumping like crazy - is the BTC Bullcycle ending? on: April 07, 2021, 10:55:08 AM
I actually think because of altcoin index and my experience with old bull runs I believe altcoin bull run will start corrections and another bitcoin bull run will start next month or 2. I still hold onto my altcoins which I preferred to buy. I even increased my bitcoin stash a day ago. I don't mind it.

I guess to each his own, I agree that some altcoins are having a good pump and bitcoin's dominance has been affected. But if you are really that experience, you know that this kind of altcoin pumps are not going to stay even for a month or two specially that bitcoin is in the middle of a bull cycle.

So we are still in the middle of things, not yet the bubble that we are expecting, we are still far from 6 digits because that is a good indication that we might be seeing the top, $100k-$200k might be the all high for this bull run, and we barely half of it.
3778  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Joe Smith Jr. vs Maxim Vlasov WBO Light Heavyweight Title on: April 07, 2021, 10:02:30 AM
Not familiar with the two fighters, probably heard though of Joe Smith Jr. This is for the vacant WBO LH right? So for sure this two will let it out in the ring to get that title. I check Maxim's record, 40++ fights so I would say that he is the more experienced of the two. But Joe Smith Jr could have tougher opponents and he has one good win in his resume, against BHop, but I guess he caught BHop at the tail end of his career.
3779  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2021 NBA Season on: April 07, 2021, 09:31:45 AM
A good win by GSW, I thought that they are really out of the game, the lead balloon to 10 points, 5-6 minutes in the game. But then they step it up, Oubre hitting three's and the winning 2 free throws. Then Steph also hitting as well. Just a different GSW when Steph as the leader in playing in the game. He was rested in the first half of the 4th quarter, but the team keep it at a distance and keeps fighting.

It's really a team effort, definitely, when Curry and Green play, the team is very confident to win the game. I like their young core also doing their job, playing good defense. Bucks is without Giannis though, but Middleton is the one who keep them in the game. It's that Golden State wanted this victory to keep their hopes a live.

For Sixers, Joel just pick where he left off, another MVP performance.
3780  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: April 07, 2021, 08:36:37 AM
Not only that but I'm sure the players would prefer to have the tournament run as scheduled
with quarantine and restrictions in order for it not to be rescheduled until after Wimbledon.

Of course, players would love the French Open to be on scheduled so that they will have rest in between.

Even if the French Open was delayed by 1 week, it would be still possible to run it before Wimbledon.

A week or two won't hurt, they've learn their lessons on AO, but this time though it will be different as the cases of covid-19 infection are rising not only in France but in other EU countries as well. This could be taken with extra precautions, more than the AO organisers did.
