I have had these since 1994 and they have travelled with me throughout all my house moves and
have been stored in a light proof box since. They are all in v.good condition, minimal handling marks
but some have some edge wear.

Looking to sell these as one lot for Bitcoin - 0.0015 [postage extra]

If you want any more info let me know.

3762  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Rugby] Union / League / Super / Sixes Sevens Pro14 / Cups & Tours / Olympics on: September 25, 2021, 06:01:30 AM
And I Timelord have never watched so much League (highlights) since coming to this thread
and while I missed the first few rounds have been betting on all rounds.

I have both the Panthers and Storm to win the final so hopefully either can beat the Rabbitohs.

Are you up after your betting on RL do you think?

union

Two of the Irish sides were in action last night in the United Championship, Connacht and Ulster,
Connacht were beaten by Cardiff playing at home. Ulster though had a good night beating
the Glasgow warriors. I broke my own rule and had a bet on Ulster as they were and are
tipped for good things this season.

Leinster and Munster the other 2 sides will be playing today. Leinster who have owned this
tournament winning 8 times in the competitions different formats. They have an unknown
competitor to overcome tonight, The Bulls from South Africa are in town.

The 4 SA sides are the same sides who competed in the Super Rugby Competition with
teams from Australia, New Zealand, Argentina and Japan I think.

Ill be betting on Leinster.

.:EDIT:.

Also @Timelord2067 dont forget Australia are playing Argentina in the Rugby Championship tonight.

I put a bet on The Sea Eagles to win when I woke up this morning and lying in bed,
and I was a bit miffed that the Rabbitohs won...until I checked on Sportsbet, I actually
placed my bet on the Rabbitohs in error ( a bit of luck there )

Tomorrows match should be a cracker, probably a low scoring affair and close. I'm
not betting on it.

Anyone going to be following the Laver Cup?

The second game is being played now, Berrettini v Felix AA, and he looks like he will
take that first set.

Its 1-0 to Team Europe after Ruud beat Opelka in 2 sets.

Team World should really fancy their chances this year with the Big 3 missing for
Team Europe although we have a very strong team with, Medvedev, Tsitsipas, Rublev,
Zverev, Ruud, Berrettini and Lopez.

Interesting test, a few of the general fiat based financial questions caught me out,
the ones I just didnt know but anyway I learned a bit more from the test.

3767  Economy / Speculation / Re: I have become cautious on the market on: September 24, 2021, 06:30:40 AM
Nothing has changed, we are still going to north of $100,000 this year. Q4 in a bull year is usually explosive, sit back & enjoy the show. Sell some in November & December though.

Yup last quarter is where the action will be and September has rarely been a good
month for the Bitcoin markets.

When Evergrande first came into the news a few days ago I knew the Crypto markets
would be affected, its too big not to and the markets are intertwined with traditional ones anyway.

This Evergrande saga has not gone away though so expect more news.

There are certainly people on YT with a lot of followers and a good bit of infleuence
who can create FUD at these times and unfortunately there will be innocent people
to take advantage of.

Why would Tether hold the Evergrande Commercial paper?
What is a commercial paper anyway?
3768  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The difficulty of explaining Bitcoin to people is massive on: September 23, 2021, 08:35:07 PM
We have to realise that the majority of people are computer illiterate, they can
switch it on and use the apps but when something simple  goes wrong they are in trouble.

So Bitcoin can be completely alien to a lot of people, its explanation stretches across
computing, cryptography, finances and trust.

I dont think there is an easy way to explain Bitcoin, if you make it too simple there will
be questions which will bring them deeper and deeper into the workings of it.

If you want to visit my site I have a very basic explanation of it there.
3769  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Tennis League All Thread on: September 23, 2021, 07:20:14 PM
in most GS, all rounds to semi-finals were not that interesting, since you know that tournament has three secured spots in semi-final, and just one player could join these three [...]
men tennis is not that interesting at the moment, because you already know winners

Yes, I agree completely. The men's side of the US Open I didn't really pay any attention to, it was inevitable that Djokovic would get to the final. Even when he was a set down in a lot of matches, there was never any doubt. Even if he went two sets down, I wouldn't have any doubt that he would reach the final. The only real surprise is that he lost the final, which I think is due largely to the pressure he felt at being on the brink of winning all four slams in the same year.

Of course there were some good matches, and some exciting new players coming through... but when you know that Djokovic will beat everyone he plays, it does take away some of the interest.

I don't really agree. I still like Men's tennis more than the Women just because of the pace, the shots they can play, ... Even if you know that somebody of the big 3 will win, I still like to watch it as it is entertaining (most of the times).

What keeps me watching is to see how far the next gen players get and if they can overcome the
top 3, like Medvedev did in the U.S open, thats interesting.

I also like the womens side too, its very open with a lot of contenders for titles.
Look at the U.S open this year, 2 names which made the womens side very exciting
playing a really entertaining brand of tennis, Raducanu and Fernandez.

More positivity towards Bitcoin and the Lightrning network from Twitter and Jack Dorsey.
As long as he is at the helm of Twitter we can expect further Bitcoin developments
because everyone knows he is a Bitcoin MAXimalist.

Its all good!

I wonder how long some of the other social media sites are going to leave it before
integrating Bitcoin in some way?
3771  Economy / Speculation / Re: El Salvador run or survive? on: September 23, 2021, 01:37:42 PM
Also remember Bitcoin wasnt introduced to replace the Dollar, its purely optional to use
by each and every citizen. The people who are going to use it should surely be aware
of its "volatility".

Anyone who understands this should be able to "zoom out" and look at the bigger picture.

Also the people who embrace this will do so to their own advantage.

Union - Provincial

A new Pro14 rebranded competition starts tomorrow, THE UNITED RUGBY CHAMPIONSHIP.

16 teams compete from 5 countries, South Africa, Italy, wales, Scotland and Ireland.
Last year in the Pro14 there were 2 teams from SA, this year there are 4, The Bulls,
Stormers, Sharks and Lions.

I think for this first round im keeping my powder dry apart from my home team Connacht
against Cardiff.

3773  Economy / Speculation / Re: Today's crypto dip - what does a Chinese real estate corp have to do with it? on: September 22, 2021, 07:51:54 PM
Yes for good or bad crypto is now intertwined in the portfolios of traditional investors
with traditional FIAT based investments and they treat Crypto he same, so when they
need to act with their investments like this current [i call it a potential black swan event]
they have to move and sell and trade.

Also there is the ripple or domino effect in the crypto markets when something like Evergrande
comes along where leveraged trades [long positions in this case] get liquidated which drives
the price down which liquidates more long positions and so on and so on. This also leads to
some people reacting with FUD and selling unnecessarily.

As you probably noticed, BTC dipped from $45K to $42K today, and ETH dipped from $3.5K to $2.9K. Other popular cryptos are also down by larger amounts.

Have you noticed yesterday we dipped below $40k ! a lot of long positions got rekt
3774  Economy / Speculation / Re: Always have an exit strategy on: September 22, 2021, 01:21:44 PM
Hah, mate— knowing the economic situation of the world right now that a lot of people are taking really lightly, Bitcoin is my exit strategy.

Yes me also mk4, my exit strategy from the mundane daily work slog, something
the FIAT system was never going to give me and didnt come close prior to Bitcoin.

I cant imagine liquidating everything back into FIAT TBH, jumping back into
the very system Bitcoin strives to counter.

Andy Murray has still got some zest left in him. He has fallen down to 116 in ranking after his surgery. But I think he is quite fit now and ready to take another tournament in his bag. He has won 3 grand slams and he should do pretty good in this one. I am a huge fan of this guy from the beginning. My wishes are with him.

I am also a fan of Murray and it's nice that he keeps on going and going, but I doubt he will ever win a tournament again. He can complete at a high level for 3-4 matches and that's about it; much more his body can't handle anymore.

Totally agree, while he might be fit he lacks the same level of speed and flexibility
that the top players have. He will certainly win matches but progressing to the latter
stages not to mention winning a major tournament is beyond his current capabilities.
He has done remarkably well to even compete ate the level he does after major surgery.

Yep. I think the 3-4 matches part is key. The reason he won't be likely to progress to the latter parts of a tournament is not so much that he can't compete against the best, it's more the toll it takes on his body having a succession of long matches in a short space of time. For example, to win a men's slam you need to win seven 5-set matches in a fortnight. Murray might be able to beat a top 10 player in a one-off game, but put him in a situation where he has to win 7x3=21 sets in two weeks, and it wouldn't be possible, even if every opponent was ranked outside the top 50.

Yeah, so he is one step already, after winning today, Murray will be facing Pospisil in the round of 16. So let's hope to see another good performance from him and win. It might be difficult as he progresses because of the tougher opponents. But this tournament is good to measure himself against the latter part of the tennis rankings. Hubert Hurkacz is the top seed followed by Carreno-Busta.

Yes this is the case, its obvious though that as Murray progresses the matches
will be tougher, his talent will carry him, he played some magic shots yesterday,
I said on a few occasions "oh yea, he still has it".

I have Carreno Busta and Sonego who is 5th seed against Rune.

Absolutely, I never questioned his ability, after all he is a former #1 but his fitness
regarding stamina and being pain free or being able to maintain his manouvreability
due to his double hip operation.

Anyway, he won today against Humbert after losing the 1st set. The last set though
was a little more difficult eventhough he won 6 - 2. His service games were lasting longer
so I would say that if it was a 5 set match the 4th set would have been too much . . .
possibly

So, good win for him today.

If one has the capability to invest now then grab it, The current situation is an opportunity. Though, don't forget to DYOR before engaging in something. The market is a bit interesting now, one of the best times to play in and explore. A lot of opportunities have opened up, to be honest.

Despite the huge movement, please don't panic and just be patient. Just keep your ground, trust your data and somehow your instinct. HODL as much as you can for now, better day is ahead  Smiley

I don't know why but I'm not bothered or worried about the market decline that started on Sunday. I think it might most likely be because the overall market trend at the moment is bullish ~ I mean, El Salvador keeps buying more bitcoin and adding to their portfolio. Microstrategy isn't selling and most big traders I know aren't taking out their positions yet. Goes to show that everyone still believes that we aren't done yet in this cycle. At the moment, I'm just DCA-ing. First at $43K earlier today. I would buy if it goes any lower than this though.

The latest correction in price is as a result of a possible default in loan repayments
by Chinas second largest development company, Evergrande.

The stock exchanges are spooked which spills over into the Crypto markets. This
is a great time to buy but who knows if we have hit the bottom resulting from this news.

Quote
The Chinese property giant owes $300 billion and is on the hook for as many as 1.6 million apartments.

Quote
Once China’s most prolific property developer, Evergrande has become the country’s most indebted company. It owes money to lenders, suppliers and foreign investors. It owes unfinished apartments to home buyers and has racked up more than $300 billion in unpaid bills. Evergrande faces lawsuits from creditors and has seen its shares lose more than 80 percent of their value this year.

3780  Economy / Economics / Re: Are Renewable Energy sources the future? on: September 21, 2021, 06:00:07 AM
A complete switch from fossil fuels to renewable is highly unlikely within 2050, zero emissions may sound ideal but I'm not sure on how it can be achieved. I hope I'm proved wrong, but the time period looks quite small for something so large.

In my opinion, it'll be a success even if fossil fuel usage is reduced by 50%. Renewable sources sound like a panacea, but I'm not exactly sure on how easy and efficient the transition can be.

For electricity generation, now many forms of renewable energy are more cost-effective when compared to the non-renewable sources. Cost of generating solar power and wind power has gone down by 20x or more during the last two decades. But the main issue is not with electricity, but with automobile fuel. This is the problematic area. The conversion of gasoline driven vehicles to EVs are not happening in a big way, because the EVs have a limited range, and they are much more expensive when compared to the gasoline driven vehicles.

Agree to this and there are only few charging station of it and really you cant drive really really long distance. Regarding renewable energy there are a lot of people now a days in their homes buying a solar power light since it could save energy and also lets say that it could make the environment better. I think the future in renewable energy in terms of electricity is really great, but the gasoline powered vehicle is the next problem tho

So when we are driving around in our new electric powered cars carbon
emissions and global warming will be neutralised and the planet will begin to heal
itself?

With more EV's produced the need for electricity  increases, surprise, surprise.
So we produce more solar panels, more turbines, we block more rivers and burn more
trees and gas.

For example Solar panels are made from Quartz and Coal, extracted and transported by
Diesel and melted together in furnaces.

It doesnt make sense, we are consuming more and more of the earths resources in
order to produce renewable clean energy.

The agenda is to sell us more products.

Best thing we can all do is buy land and plant trees (as a start.)
