Back in late 2013 when Litecoin was skyrocketing from $2 to $48, there was a time when the Litecoin clan was convinced that LTC would soon find it's rightful STABLE place at 1/4 of btc price. Absolutely convinced. It eventually fell all the way back to $1.30. Let that sink in for a min. |

We can occasionally talk about alts, but we have a long standing disgust and disdain for XRP (aka CentralizedPreminedBankerCoin) here that goes back years and years. IMO out of all the shitcoins, Ripple might be the worst. And it just won't die.

Any theories as to why they've been out front for so long? They're just a bunch of people. I don't understand why no one else in the world has caught up already.
TBH, I don't either. They should be able to clone the hardware, so I assume it's the start up costs associated with tooling and production of Bitcoin miners. But you would think that by now we would start to see some commodification emerging in that area, as well as some innovations and efficiencies. |

Because the only people who can do that are Bitmain, and they're busy spamming Bitcoin. Non Bitmain BTC miners are too busy collecting vast fees. Exactly. But one day, mining hardware competition will come. Mining pool competition will come. I'm not worried. In the early 1990's, there were only a few companies that made reliable modems. The only onramp people had to the WWW. And these companies enjoyed a monopoly.... for a while. That's why I'm not worried about Bitmain. Their day of reckoning will come. |

And then they touted that lack of SegWit was a feature that they supported all along! This is how I know their supporters are full of shit. They're not behind anything at all. They are just "anti-Bitcoin" trolls that want to see Bitcoin centralized and controlled. BCash was literally propped up so that Bitcoin could have a fake enemy. Otherwise it would have none. |

I cannot believe coinbase + cnbc + ver can pull all of this through in the broadest daylight, everyone watching their coordinated attack. remember how long it took btc to go from zero over $4k? fucking 8 years. hard years. blood, sweat, tears... and this b-shitcoin is "used" by so many people that it did the same in a few months? lol.
The most insidious part about it? The pumpers don't give two shits about BCash. It's everyone's bitcoin that they really want. Futures markets cannot be moved without more bitcoin supply. Bitcoin ETFs cannot be launched and grow without more bitcoin supply. It's bitcoin they really want, and they don't want to pay market rates for it. They don't want to have to buy it on the open exchange market. So they use BCash to shake the tree, and short. Don't give it to them. |

Looks like BTC is recovering good after the BCH pump. I think we will definatly be between $20000 - $22000 by the end of the year.

It doesn't matter what the price will be at the end of this year. We had a awesome run in 2017 and lots of amazing stuff is going to happen in 2018. Big money is coming in, pretty great features are to get implemented, more users probably gonna entering this space. Lets work on the fundamentals, improve the technology, educate the newbies. Then we can think about what price may be. However as long as we will work on the 3 things I've mentioned, the price is rising will be a no brainer. Far beyond $20k!! This. Also, I predict 2018 will be the rise of the Bitcoin ETFs. For better or worse. But at least it will mean a hella more money coming into the space. Also we should have a workable Lightning Network up and running by the end of 2018. |

A lot of people don't understand exactly what happened on GDAX with BCash, and why the price went so high. But the reason for this is not what most people would think. They think that people were piling into to feverishly buy BCash because they so desperately want it.
That's not why or what happened. Let me explain.
BCash is very very thinly traded, and traded on very few exchanges. Bithumb being the biggest exchange by volume. That's because the float there is really thin and tightly controlled by the Bitmain/Ver/Wu whale cartel. And that is also the reason why as I speak, the price of BCash is $800 higher on Bithumb versus everywhere else. With control of the float, you can set the market price.
So what happened on GDAX is that whale traders knew that buy rushing in and buying up all available BCash (as well as bidding up the price, esp with the 'Sell' button disabled), they could gain control of the extremely thin, meager float that exists on GDAX. And with control of the float, even temporarily, they can control the price. And with control of the price, they can ask for whatever price for BCash that suits them. They can screw over so many newb traders by fooling them into paying for BCash way WAY over the average exchange price of what the market supports (like the avg. exchange price is even real and reflective of actual BCash user demand anyway). And once the price is bid up to the moon, they can then turn around dump and short the shit out of it right into the ground.
So many people, esp newb traders, would have been destroyed by this if Coinbase hadn't halted trading of BCash.
