3782  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is Bitcoin bounce back to 60k in this year? on: March 15, 2022, 06:29:27 AM
After long time of suspension of BTC price between 32k to 40k is we think it's bounce backed to 60k this year?

Obviously, no one knows for sure what will happen, otherwise it would be very easy to get rich.

Going more specifically to what you are asking, I would not be surprised if we return to these levels, what I am quite skeptical about is that we will beat the previous ATH of $69K, I would like to but as the scenario is I doubt that it will happen. The world political instability that is not going to calm down in a couple of months is going to make that at the minimum that the price goes up, it will go back down due to the irrationality of the markets.

It is clear to me that Bitcoin will be a clear winner in the long term, but I am quite skeptical about 2022.
3783  Economy / Economics / Re: Coming economic problems all world how to profit on: March 15, 2022, 06:24:57 AM
My way of investing does not change because of the situation in the world. It is a simple way: save, invest by doing DCA and forget about the macroeconomic situation. It is a strategy that has been working for many decades, and, although this does not guarantee that the same thing will happen in the future, I have no rational argument to think otherwise. The OP is looking for some strategy similar to playing roulette and winning, I'll pass on that.

3784  Other / Meta / Re: Let's change the perspective and stop plagiarism. on: March 15, 2022, 06:17:02 AM
I fail to understand the purpose of this thread..

What's this thread for?

It is a long topic but in my opinion, it is unnecessary because there are abundant topics on plagiarism.

Etc.

He is just trying to fish some merit. This type of post is always looking for the same thing, although they are more common in the B&H section, what surprises me is that no one has fallen for it and has given it merit.

3785  Other / Archival / Re: Bitcoin at $1 000 000 by 2030 on: March 14, 2022, 08:41:08 AM
I think that the full 4-year cycle of bitcoin has ended and $69 000 is the new ATH that we will aim for in the same way as it was with ATH at $20 000 at one time (but I will be happy to be wrong). Even so, we have two full-fledged cycles ahead of us, and if in each cycle Bitcoin rises at least 4 times from its previous ATH, then over these 8 years we may well reach the $1 million mark.

Just a point. If in this cycle the ATH was $69K, it would not be fulfilled that the price rises at least 4 times, in this case it would be 3.5 approximately. And if this is the case, I doubt if the spectacular returns for Bitcoin would be over by now. At the time I created a thread about it. If we think that the higher the price and market cap, the more difficult it is to move the price and that the natural tendency would be for the ATH of each cycle to decrease, it would be normal to think that in the next cycles it will not rise at least 4 times the ATH of the previous cycle, but at most 3.5.

All this is pure speculation and we do not know if a given event could catapult the price up or down. If, for example, Amazon announced in this cycle that it supports Bitcoin payments and buys Bitcoin for its reserves, I think we would easily beat $69K, but I am pretty sure the returns in percentage terms are going to go lower as time goes by.
3786  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Elon Musk Wont Sell his Bitcoin on: March 14, 2022, 08:21:06 AM
Elon Musk won't sell his bitcoins, he tweeted this and we see no big movement in the market. There was a time when his tweets had big effects on the market. This guy is losing his value by promoting Dogecoin.

Yeah, he won't sell his Bitcoin or his shitcoins, who cares. I think that in this forum we don't really care what he says, although it must be recognized that he has a short-term influence on the markets.
3787  Other / Archival / Re: Bitcoin at $1 000 000 by 2030 on: March 14, 2022, 08:14:05 AM
At the beginning of the year, ARK Invest released a large report on the future of the crypto industry. And this report says that the $1 million price of bitcoin will be a reality by 2030.

Well, that's been said for a long time, I the first one I remember hearing was McAffe and his famous "I will eat my dick" if it didn't reach $1M in 2020, which he later lowered $0.5M. I think those of us who own Bitcoin expect it to reach that figure, the question is when. If the predictions for last year had come true, and especially if some like the supercycle theory had come true, we would be thinking that maybe in one more cycle we could reach that figure. But if we stay at $69K as a maximum for this cycle, it may take much longer.

It is also expected that in the future bitcoin will increasingly be recognized as legal tender and its share among global assets will continue to grow. There will also be an increase in the number of bitcoin holders who accumulate their coins in the long term.

Well, that depends on the "expert" you ask, just yesterday I responded in a thread where the expert predicted the opposite.

3788  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: So will the Tailand Baht symbol ฿ not be confused with the Bitcoin symbol ? on: March 14, 2022, 05:58:06 AM
Interesting. I didn't know about that. I just googled it and they indeed look very similar. I think the only difference is that it has one vertical bar instead of two and that it goes through the B, as opposed to Bitcoin, where only the top and bottom parts of the two bars are visible.

Can someone from Thailand give us some first hand experience with how they are dealing with the similarity of these symbols in their country? It must be very difficult to differentiate between the two symbols, especially if the font is smaller?

Looking forward to it as well.
3789  Other / Politics & Society / Re: We are at the door step of world war 3? on: March 14, 2022, 05:53:04 AM
It's been going on for years. After all the biggest ballistic missile attack in history against US that destroyed two of the biggest US bases housing 6000 troops happened during the previous senile president.

I seem to remember that you live in that part of the world.

Yes, the issue with Iran goes back a long way, as well as that of China with Taiwan and Russia with Ukraine. Nor was Biden around when Russia annexed Crimea. Those tensions go way back and having someone who is perceived as weak in what is considered the world's leading power since the end of WWII doesn't help.

Morevore, many bad things can be said about the previous president. I didn't like the way he was so cocky that it seemed that rather than being President of the Government, he was back on the show The Apprentice, to give you an example.

And he was not a young man either, but I think it is clear that he did not show symptoms of a cognitive decline like Biden.

3790  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Remind yourself that 50% of all purchases in the United States are under $25. on: March 14, 2022, 05:37:23 AM
1.Bitcoin is failing as a "safe heaven against inflation" right now.BTC isn't a safe heaven and BTC doesn't provide any protection against inflation.Prove me wrong.

You make too categorical a statement to put the burden of proof on the other. I don't know if you are referring to the last few months. If we take into account the trajectory of Bitcoin since it was created it is clear that it is the best safe haven against inflation. Look at how any financial asset has performed relative to inflation since 2009 and look at how Bitcoin has performed. There you have the proof.

Consumer spending accounts for 70% of the US economy, with half of all consumer expenditures falling beneath the $25 threshold. We are still a long way from the typical individual purchasing homes and automobiles with bitcoin, but that is great. A cup of coffee or a tank of petrol are examples of the microtransactions that comprise the majority of the US economy. Even a tiny fraction of these transactions will be conducted in bitcoin, which will have a significant impact.

In your argument which is more wishful thinking than anything else you are obviating the legislative problem. The way Bitcoin is regulated no one will use it to pay for coffee and small day to day payments because they will have to declare each payment and pay capital gains tax.
3791  Other / Politics & Society / Re: We are at the door step of world war 3? on: March 14, 2022, 03:41:00 AM

I would say that has more to do with having a US president who shows clear symptoms of senile dementia and who made a fool of himself with the withdrawal from Afghanistan. They are simply testing how far they can go.

But no, although you never know if something will ultimately happen that will trigger a full-scale conflict, none of the politicians in charge of these countries are so stupid as to want to destroy the world. They enjoy their power too much and have delusions of grandeur, wanting to be remembered in history. If they start WWIII there will be nothing to remember.
3792  Economy / Economics / Re: The economy is important for a family! on: March 13, 2022, 07:16:01 PM
As we know, the economy is very important for families, of course, to support daily life and plan for the future. In addition to working we also need a savings or investment and this is the responsibility of parents. But if something happens that we don't want, such as death. By leaving a little treasure to our children, do we need to provide crypto investment education to our children? is it necessary?

The best thing is to provide education in a broad sense, within which there is financial education, and within financial education, educate about Bitcoin.

I hope you have taken precautions if you have your private keys just in case. If you die, your house, your bank accounts etc. will be inherited by your children, but if only you know you have crypto in a hardware wallet, you have to have a plan.

There have been some threads on the forum about this:

What happens to my bitcoin if I die today?

What happens to your Bitcoin when you Die?
3793  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Who will lose in Ukraine? on: March 13, 2022, 07:07:06 PM
We will all lose. Well, not all, there are always those who benefit from wars, but they are usually a minority. Obviously, the most affected will be those who lose their lives, their families and those who have to move to avoid bombs falling on them.

For the rest you say, I try to keep an open mind and I have been researching the origin of the conflict:

Russia is the only culprit here?

The answer is no. NATO is also responsible for this situation.

I would point out that the responsible for the dead is the one who kills them and the one who orders to kill them, but if we stick to the origin of the conflict, it is true that NATO is partly to blame for expanding eastward. The thing is that until now they had done it with several countries and nothing had happened.

3794  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2022-03-11]The legendary investor spoke about the future of bitcoin on: March 13, 2022, 05:53:39 PM
I didn't read the article, I'm not an economist, much less a market analyst, but even I know that the US dollar will always exist...

I'm not so sure about that. I'm sure it will exist for the next 5, 10, 20 years maybe, but I'm not so sure it will exist 100 years from now. And I would tell you that I am pretty sure that there will be no dollar or pound or euro in 500 years.

There are lots of currencies that were used in different countries that have disappeared. Also those that were the most valuable of the time, such as the denarius argentum of the Romans.

With the speed of change with technology I find it hard to believe that the dollar and the other major currencies will last long in historical time.

Despite knowing him for less than a year, I've noticed most of his so-called predictions are either pure nonsense or things that are bound to happen [nothing special about them].

I already knew him a long time ago, and I take his opinions as others, he may be right about something but I don't give special importance to what he says.

Regarding what he says about governments not allowing Bitcoin being an alternative, I don't think he knows what he's talking about. He has stuck with the whitepaper and the P2P electronic cash system and has not realized that if Bitcoin has been allowed in most countries in the world and has been regulated is because governments have some control with regulated exchanges and AML and KYC policies.

Those who use Bitcoin with maximum privacy are in the minority.

He'd better do more research about it, but I think that he speaks to an audience that does not know much about the subject.
3795  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin VS Oil VS Russia VS Ukraine on: March 13, 2022, 06:39:15 AM
The current event taking place in Ukraine have lead to scarcity of oil and inflation o commodities that needed oil...

I will point out. It has not led to a shortage of oil, more than there was, it has led to a reduction of purchasable energy in certain markets. There is approximately the same amount of oil and gas in the world as there was before the outbreak of the war a few weeks ago; it is another thing if you do not want to buy from Russia. And it should be noted that the EU, for example, continues to buy gas from Russia, although it plans to greatly reduce the amount of gas it buys from Russia.

In addition, inflation and the rise in energy prices was already there, and the war has only exacerbated it.

But how does this events affects the price of bitcoin and crypto currencies in general since now Ukraine and people in Russia use crypto?

Well, that's an unknown and if someone knew for sure what was going to happen he would easily become a millionaire.

Are the government going to also sanction exchanges and wallet owners?

Please I need you guys views on this

Another unknown. Apart from the blocking of accounts of some Russian citizens in exchanges, I think everything will remain more or less the same. The only thing I hope is that more and more people will learn "not your keys, not your Bitcoin" for what it's worth.
3796  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Upliftment of Crypto Ban of Nigerian Banks on: March 13, 2022, 06:30:53 AM
I am personally not hopeful that the federal government would renege on its decision to ban banks from getting involved in crypto transactions, beyond articles like these, the benefits of bitcoin to the citizens are evident, and one of them which sticks out a lot is the freedom it gives to users, and not every country wants the people to have that kind of freedom, especially as controlling the financial system is one way countries control the people.

Although I agree with you, I would put it the other way around. There is virtually no country on earth today that wants its citizens to have that kind of freedom. They want us dependent on the state and the monetary system.

This has led to the fact that with the emergence of cryptocurrencies, states have reacted and come up with CBDCs as an alternative to cash, which are the dream of every state controller, because unlike cash, with CBDCs the controllers are going to know what you spend all your money on, and they can do things like:

1) Program it to expire, to stimulate consumption.
2) Punish you for behavior that is not considered correct. For example: if you use a combustion car, or have not had certain vaccinations, apply a negative interest rate to what you have on account.
3) Reward you for behaviors that are considered correct.
4) Instantly block your money. If you have cash saved at home, they can't do this.

Anyway, I don't know the Nigerian situation specifically, but I don't think so either.

3797  Other / Meta / Re: Curiosity about being merited for a comment on a 4-months old locked thread. on: March 13, 2022, 05:46:18 AM
I doubt if there is any way to find poorly merited quality posts among someone's post history in a quick way.
You can bookmark [self-moderated] Report unmerited good posts to Merit Source and take some reported unmerited posts by forum members[/url]. It saves your time but sure not all good unmerited posts are reported there.

You see, I was aware of that thread, and in the past used it myself to report posts by other members that I thought were worthy of merit, but it had not occurred to me that someone had dug into my post history (and that of others) to report several of my posts as deserving more merit:

Hi LoyceV,

I see those users are lacking of merit (<50 merits) to achieve the next rank, there also some users is still lacking of activity too, but I think isn't wrong to gave them merit since their post are high quality and deserved.

That member, Despairo, must have spent a lot of time diving through the post histories of several of us and received quite a bit of merits for it.
3798  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: This Odd Job Would Have Put Thousands of Dollars in BTC in My Wallet on: March 13, 2022, 04:42:30 AM
Not to doubt what you say, I just tend to doubt the stories I read on the forums. To give it more credibility you better post some pictures as Yogee has explained to you.

Assuming it is true, congratulations for doing the right thing, I guess you have a clear conscience. The bad thing is that, as has been said, someone else will have agreed to do the job, especially if the payment is a significant amount for that person.
3799  Other / Meta / Curiosity about being merited for a comment on a 4-months old locked thread. on: March 13, 2022, 04:36:19 AM
I wasn't sure where to open this thread, I guess meta is the most appropriate place.

Recently I have been given merits for a comment in a thread that I locked 4 months ago.

Some were given to me when I was just a few merits short of 1000, and I see the point that there are forum members who try to help you when you are just a few merits short of the merits needed to get to the next level. Thanks for that to those who gave me merits. But it's just that today I saw that Welsh also gave me merits for this and another old post when I had already reached the requirement.

As I say it's just a curiosity, but how did you get to that comment? Diving through all the posts?  I doubt if there is any way to find poorly merited quality posts among someone's post history in a quick way.

I remember that when I wrote it I was a few days without receiving any merit for it.

Congratulations to all, especially Russia Smiley
"Venezuela will sell oil to the United States."
The world is not such an idiot as Russia and the Kremlin underfunded. The world wants to live and develop and not degrade and close.
Caracas intends to increase oil production in 2022 to 2-3 million barrels per day and sell it in the United States.
"Venezuela is open to investment, oil and gas production, oil and gas stability around the world, including the United States. We are ready to sell US oil and gas, we must not politicize economic issues," said Petroleos de Venezuela (PDVSA). President Nicolas Maduro.
Nothing personal, just business Smiley

Great move by Biden, what a strategist. Changing the energy he buys from Putin to beg to buy it from Venezuela, Iran and Saudi Arabia, when he could produce it himself. I guess when they burn the gas and oil bought by the US to those countries, the smoke will be ecological smoke, or so he pretends to make us believe.
