3781  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Gerald Davis aka DeathAndTaxes of BitSimple and Tangible Cryptography on: March 21, 2015, 08:25:05 AM
Probably fake or a mistake.

Gerald Davis a.k.a. DeathAndTaxes of BitSimple (BitSimple.com) and Tangible Cryptography (tangiblecryptography.com) sought out and accepted $600,000 in fiat and bitcoin from investors in January 2014. These funds were acquired by selling stock in Tangible Cryptography and were to be invested in BitSimple.com.

Tangible Cryptography has announced the completion of a $600,000 seed round investment funded completely in bitcoin.

Gerald Davis a.k.a. These funds were acquired by selling stock in Tangible Cryptography and were to be invested in BitSimple.com.

BitSimple.com shut down bank transfer operations in May 2014. The investors were not informed until August 2014. Mr. Davis was asked to consider dissolving the company in August 2014 after he reported a theft of around $25,000 and no banking accounts. Gerald Davis did not respond and failed to communicate to shareholders from August 2014 to January 2015. During this time a six figure amount of US dollars was redirected to Mr. Davis and members of his family.

In February 2015 Gerald asked us to vote for a company dissolution and scheduled the fist company meeting. The shareholders refused to vote for dissolution because promised finical reports were not delivered.

Gerald Davis then asked for more time due to personal reasons and this was granted. However at this time Gerald Davis is no longer communicating or responding to investors. Because of this we felt it was time to inform the community of this very unfortunate and confused situation. We hope that it will be resolved soon.

The best way to resolve this in a civilized way would be for Gerland Davis to provide the legally mandated finical reports and access to the police report that was filed when the funds went missing.

3783  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Vanitygen: Vanity bitcoin address generator/miner [v0.22] on: March 21, 2015, 08:01:13 AM
I'm having issues using my GTX 660 to assist in generating a vanity address. I marked -d 1:0 (already determined correct device) and all it does is show me the commands for vanitygen. I'm using version .20 if that makes a difference.

Command I'm using:
>vanitygen64 -v -d 1:0 -X 115 oMagicmann

Can you try this?

Code:
vanitygen64 -v -D 1:0 -X 115 oMagicmann
3784  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Display summary data from different crypto currency wallets on a Win7 pc. on: March 21, 2015, 07:10:26 AM
You could check out Cryptonator on Google Play (assuming you've got an Android phone)

[ img]https://lh6.ggpht.com/7l4RtNCV-Y4H60eMmLEaK5J16cBbW4WwRN0O_ss5mywhwFdSUVCdYTLYtcx15JfGiA=h310[/img]

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.aev.cryptonator

Question is "only" how safe is that one. I don't trust to any wallet that comes up.

It isn't a wallet, it is a monitoring app. You don't want to share private key with it and I think no need of address too. Looking at their description, it says we have to type how many coins of an asset is owned.
3785  Economy / Auctions / Re: Bitcointalk Member Account - Auction on: March 21, 2015, 06:55:53 AM
I thought a member is worth at least BTC0.05...

Good luck OP.

I sold member account similar to the one which matches his description for ~0.08BTC+. He maybe selling for cheap or is new to the market.

@OP: Do you have signed message?
3786  Other / Meta / Re: Madness - Banned once again on: March 21, 2015, 06:47:06 AM
Depending how much the fees were to be it could go towards maintaining the forum. I agree it would create threads where people are complaining, but meta currently has many active posters responding to these types of threads. I think if people have trusted moderators judgement up to this point, adding a fee wouldn't change it. Besides, it would show who actually wanted to get back to the forum, and provide incentive not to spam. I'm unsure what the other 75 users you banned the last few weeks did or how many people don't create new accounts when they are banned or wait out their bans.

Spammers spam. If the amount is high than the bonus from referral link spam, spammers may go but putting such a high price will also scare away people with good intention if they don't have enough money to cover this. I don't like "ban fee" because it destroys the use of ban IMHO. Patience will make them better than earlier.
3787  Other / Meta / Re: What is Bitcoin-Forums.net? on: March 21, 2015, 05:51:53 AM
Looks like the mirror is about an hour or two behind too. This thread hasn't shown up yet for example but posts made just a few hours ago are there.

It is now. They may have heard you! Wink

P.S. My post shown up when I looked just after I posted here. Are you sure it wasn't there?

Edit: Or the fetching of threads will take a little time but once it is fetched, posts will be synced fastly?

I hope you didn't use your real username/password.

No, I tried to login with an account I used early 2014(newbie).
3788  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: 10percentbtc.com - Bitcoin Cloud Mining on: March 21, 2015, 05:48:40 AM
The negative feedback left by Cyrus may cause problem.

Another ponzi? Can you post pics of your cloud mining datacenter? Can you show us mining earnings? From which address are you going to pay investors?
3789  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: [ANN] FaucetBOX.com - API & faucet script, create your own crypto faucet on: March 21, 2015, 05:44:53 AM
Oh thats the matter Smiley . I don't use that already

Can you check if my Adblocker is active and blocking users to claim on my faucet having adblocker enabled

You mean anti-adblocker, right? I suggest you to use every scripts and plugins to test it.

3790  Other / Meta / Re: What is Bitcoin-Forums.net? on: March 21, 2015, 05:30:24 AM
Nothing works there. I tried to login, search and password reset, all I got is "Not Found!" So it is most probably a phishing site, I might be wrong though.

Edit: Their sites load faster than this forum. It is also possible they cloned this, blocked all features and save all the threads/posts.

Edit-2: They ain't saving posts like Bitcointa.lk, my deleted post wasn't showing in that site and also, you are right! All links which contain "bitcointalk.org" are replaced with "bitcoin-forums.net".
3791  Other / Meta / Re: Activity & new membergroup limits on: March 21, 2015, 05:19:10 AM
How can I find out the acitivty needed for legendary for a certain account?

AFAIK, you can't. Just somewhere between 775 and 1030 activity.
That makes it sound like once you reach 1031 activity, if you've been overlooked for some reason, you are no longer eligible for Legendary status. Cheesy

lol but of course you won't be overlooked, it's not approved manually by Theymos Cheesy The worst case, you'll be Legendary on 1030 activity.

Most probably on 1036. Roll Eyes

if you have it I suggest to take it off and use your regular hosting.

Can't understand what you say, please explain this.
And should i use it because i haven't use that in my Faucet ??

He said not to use CloudFlare for faucets. Sometimes multiple users can have same IP and sometimes same user may have different IPs which will make them to claim multiple times before the cool down.
3793  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why do islam hates people? on: March 21, 2015, 03:06:42 AM
Thought it was pretty known? I own a copy of the Qur'an and have read some, he married a 12 year old iirc?

You maybe referring to A'isha. Do you know that woman become pubescent from the age 9? And also as long as the spouses have no problem of the marraige(after reaching puberty), there is no problem. There is an English country which allows marriage if the woman is atleast 13 years old but I forgot the name and don't know if the law is same. Different countries set different age rules.

P.S. You should check the meaning of "rape" first. Smiley And, is the copy of Qur'an in Arabic or English(meaning)? Can you please tell me who translated? Be careful, there are some copies which mistranslated by people. Buy only the ones which are translated by known people.

I think it's cool that Jesus is mentioned more than Mohammed, news for me!

Huh

The following is from Alan Korwin, the publisher of Gunlaws.com, from his "Page Nine blog," except that the quote, below, may not be posted on the blog yet. Give him a couple of days. Better yet, go there - http://gunlaws.com/PageNineIndex.htm - and look at a lot of other interesting things.

Quote
=snip=

FYI: Some people quote others words out of context. I am not saying what he said is right or wrong because I can't judge on it as I haven't heard it yet.

other words, the various militant parts of Islam, including Islamic nations, want mass Jihad, especially of Israel. Does this sound like a religion of peace to you?

Smiley

I told earlier don't mix people with religion and also the meaning of Jihad. You are obviously trying to spread FUD or you are mistaken. If you what you saying is possible, I can say "US are bad people, do you think this is a country of peace?". I can say this because US has done many such things, one of the worst was on Japan(Hiroshima & Nagasaki). Sad

I heard Jesus is named as a prophet in the Quran more than Muhammed, is it true.. Googled fast but it doesn't say anything about Mohammed.

Quote
The most mentioned prophet in the Qur'an is Moses (commonly transliterated as Musa; موسى‎, pronounced “Mūsā”), as he is mentioned 136 times. Jesus, whose name is commonly transliterated as Isa (but also known as Al-Masih, the Messiah;

Not Jesus, Isa. I know you call Isa as Jesus but as there wasn't crucifixion, instead, crucifiction was happened. To call the execution a crucifixion, the victim(here Jesus) must die but Jesus didn't die. So it is crucifiction not crucifixion.

Yes, you are right. There are names of 24 prophets mentioned in Qur'an and Musa and Isa is most mentioned because there is many history in Qur'an about 'em.

Mohammed raped kids and women to left and right, it's a nice prophet eh?

Can you tell me when this happened? Can you give some source? It is either misunderstanding or misinterpretation or slander(spreading lies).

@eurekamazda, do you mean desktop wallet? An offline wallet is only for a cold storage (never connected on internet). =snip=

There is some problem here. People use "offline" wallet for two things.

1) A wallet which is never connected to internet aka cold storage.
2) A wallet which is in desktop used by the user, i.e. not on a *server*.(most used)

Most of them doesn't know terms such as *desktop* wallet and *hot* wallet. We will have to guess it by checking which definition from above two matches his/her question(s).

thx for the feedback.

You are welcome!

the part with the firmware is a big hassle and i deleted it.

Which wallet review did you delete? I still can see eWallet.

before you buy some of these devices, make a proper background check.

I think it is better to add this as a note to OP. Something like, "Before you buy a device, make a proper background check. You should make your own due diligence".

blockchain is best and official and its also very lite it works with full speed even if you gave slow internet its also trusted amoung all

Spam! Sad Have you took a time to read OP or atleast look the title/subject?

He asked offline wallet and Blockchain.info never fits in that category, it is an online wallet.

SMF has no merge features* and honestly, there wasn't need of this post as there was already one. This should be either moved to Trashcan or Archival.

wasnt aware that there is no merge option here
 =snip=
No merge feature? Badbear merged my threads once, so there must be a merge feature. Maybe merging is only available to admins?

It isn't available in SMF. AFAIK it can be done by moving certain posts to other threads but it can't be done in a *click*.

Sadly, SMF has no merging features. I understand what they are going through, and their posts are constructive and not something that the moderators want to delete, however the thread creation is spam, so we have started locking/merging his threads linking through a single thread's OP.

EDIT : it seems like ndnhc is moving it to TC's thread and will be locking this

Nope, not going to. I will wait till it either gets to 10 pages or this thread is inactive for 2 days, I will move this to Auction probably and anyway, lock it forever.

Moving this to the auction board does not help if your account is compromised. You can move it to somewhere else -> edit -> move it back. I do think that the forum needs to provide a special thread for this very thing though...that can only be edited by admins.

Sending a PM to DefaultTrust is enough for recovering but it can only be seen by Admins.

Personally, I think both threads are useless due to the ability to edit.

I PMed my bitcoin address to DefaultTrust some time ago.  That is all Theymos needs to verify it's me.

=snip= do you know how to find it? =snip=

Found that we can get message ID by going to 'Outbox' and then clicking/copying a message link from the list. What if the user doesn't save PMs sent in 'Outbox'? Is there any alternative to the method I said?
