3781  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Another side of Sports betting you may not know about on: May 11, 2023, 06:38:08 AM
Quote
Congress has long-recognized the potential harms posed by sports betting to the integrity of sporting contests and the public confidence in these events.

This topic stems from the suspension of Jameson Williams for 6 games because he violated the gambling policy. I dug a little and found out the reason for the policy. My understanding of this is that there are two sides to sports betting, the gambler's side and then sports contest games. But this is the first time I am reading that sports betting can affect the game negatively and results in reduced public confidence. Does this apply to the NFL only? What about soccer and other sports? Are they exempted? Let's talk about this.

It doesn't apply to only the NFL, we can see this happening in soccer as well. It mightn't happen to the professional league but the minor league get affected easily since things can be done in those league and be gotten away with like match fixing and other illegal officiating.

I think anyone who's caught for match fixing in any of the sports should be punished severely so others can learn. Match fixing takes out the integrity of the game and also reduced fans attendance which makes the clubs lose money.

This is also the reason it's prohibited for those involved with sports to place bets. Imagine if a coach bets on his side to lose and the payout would be big. He'll intentionally sabotage the game with wrong tactics so it goes in his favor and he wins.
3782  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: About football betting on: May 11, 2023, 05:56:45 AM
Sport betting has nothing to do with the casino as they don't have any influence on the game. If you know your sport very well then you can always have an advantage over any casino platform that you use to gamble and make lots of money from them.
Well, this is also a wrong analogy. I will take an example, if someone who has a lot of knowledge about football, be it players, strategies, formations, systems, coaches, or whatever, there is no guarantee that they will get an absolute win in every betting session. In football, we don't only talk about data and statistics, every result will be determined when the match is running or finished. however, I agree, that sports betting is unlike any other type of casino gaming, which is almost entirely based on luck.

How do you agree and disagree with me at the same time, sport betting doesn't rely totally on luck as I have said, to win bets you have to be well informed. An uninformed gambler might pick a small team to win the bigger team and be lucky but it rarely happens.

Most times the bigger team will always win but the form of both teams also matters as an informed Brighton would beat an out of form Chelsea so it's not always a matter of which team is bigger but inform as well which is why I said sport betting is more about be informed.

Still when betting on sport games, you need luck as you won't win without it doesn't matter if you have all the right information as wrong officiating, injuries on the field can lose you your bet. You have to be lucky for everything to go smoothly and the game ends in your favor.
3783  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How Big is the online gambling industry today? on: May 10, 2023, 07:09:23 AM
I think its undeniably big nowadays because we can observe big sponsorships happening around between online gambling platforms and many sports teams and athletes. 10-15 years ago people would be surprised to see these kind of things happening. Anyways it's pretty normal. When you can gamble from your home or workplace or even a park, why wouldn't you? When you lift these invisible borders it was obvious online gambling getting bigger. I think it didn't even reach its peak. Smart phones will make it more and more popular.

In addition, we now have crypto sportsbook joining the already growing industry and with the force they're coming with, they are already dominating  as most of the big money sponsorship in sports are now crypto related gambling sites and it will keep growing.

Crypto casinos are having a competition with in each other as they're looking for which site can have the most impact and get the customer to gamble using their site. Crypto casino aren't regulated so they can be started more easily compared to the others.

Cryptocurrency has also help the industry as it has made deposit and withdrawal almost instant and these are the things that make people want to use crypto gambling sites over the others and they're contributing to how big the industry is becoming.
3784  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: About football betting on: May 10, 2023, 06:58:44 AM
Regardless of what kind of sports you are betting into, always make sure that you have enough knowledge about it so that your chances of winning will be higher. If you will impulsively bet on whatever team there is, then expect an unpleasant result because when it comes to sports, every factual information is crucial.

Sport betting is more about how educated you're are and informed about the sport you're betting on. If you don't have enough knowledge about soccer then don't bet as you'll make the wrong picks. For example yesterday champions league game I saw many choosing Manchester city.

But they almost lost the game and that's not because they played didn't play well but it's Real Madrid they were playing against that has a very strong history in the champions league and they were at home so how then did people think Manchester city can beat Real Madrid.

Sport betting has nothing to do with the casino as they don't have any influence on the game. If you know your sport very well then you can always have an advantage over any casino platform that you use to gamble and make lots of money from them.
3785  Economy / Gambling / Re: Which are best stake alternatives on: May 10, 2023, 06:43:54 AM
There are plenty of casinos here and I hope op can search some threads here to see which one he would like to use since there are even links available for him to go through and check the site if he likes to bet on any of the platform. Most of the answers for this question are available on the internet if op will like to take some bold steps to search there.

We also have fake casino here as well so the op need to be careful so he doesn't use a fake casino that'll scam him. 1xbit one of the fake casino as you will be scammed when you make use of them. They have lots of scam accusations against them and they don't care.

Just because a casino is listed on the forum or been allowed to advertise here doesn't mean that those casino are good to use. The forum allow all kinds of scam as they don't supervise it but always look at the trust ratings as scam casino are always marked red.

Stake is a good casino but we have other alternative and you can search for them on the forum. Coinslotty is one of my favorites and that's not because I'm promoting it. It has no negative rating from its customer and they're active on the forum.
3786  Economy / Gambling / Re: What is a web3 casino for you? on: May 10, 2023, 06:32:55 AM
Lately we have seen a lot of online casinos that are considering themselves as Web3.0 but in reality it’s just a name, they don’t over a real Decentralized experience for players.
So i want to know from you what’s are all the features an online casino should have to be considered as web3.0 casino?

Web3 has to be decentralized so if a casino is claiming to be a web3 project then it has to have all of the features of decentralized projects. The casino should be accessable with my metamask wallet that I won't have to deposit but can connect my wallet directly.

There should be no restrictions of which location can access the casino. If there's a restrictions then that means the casino is not decentralized as they claim but centralized just disguising so they can gain audiences from those who are interested in decentralization.

There are so many feature that should make a casino decentralized, the games has to be P2P. The casino shouldn't be involved as two or three members can host a betting game with in themselves although the casino will have their commission but not interfere.
3787  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What kind of rewards/bonuses do you prefer? on: May 09, 2023, 07:57:20 PM
For reward and bonus, I like deposit bonus. Free spins and cashbacks are great but I love when I get bonuses on my deposit. It motivate me to deposit more and keep on gambling. Deposit bonus make me deposit not minding if I have money on the casino already.
But then, there is something you are not realizing, or should I say you are forgetting, deposit bonus doesn't come free remember?
Deposit bonus on most casino come with a wager requirement, which simply means that, (depending on what the wager requirement is) aside the bonus received, you must gamble with a greater part of your main deposit before you can be able to withdraw, without meeting the requirements, you won't be able to withdraw, I believe this requirement is put in place to prevent abuse, without it, gamblers will just deposit, claim the bonus, then withdraw their deposit and only gamble with the bonus.

This is an issue for non gamblers that try to cheat, as for gamblers we don't care about the wagers that much because we still would had gambled the money we just deposit, with or without the wagers been present. We funded our accounts to gamble so no difference there.

What make this type of bonus very interesting to me is because I get to use my initial capital to gamble as I would have done but with the bonuses I get rewarded with more capital to use to gamble which increase my profits since I get more chances.

For example if I had $100 and I wanted to pay slots games and one spin is $1 that means I only get 100 spins but since I'll be getting a reward of 100% on my deposit. That means I now have $200 for the bet which increase my spins to 200 instead of 100.
3788  Economy / Gambling / Re: Enough to consider a casino scam? on: May 09, 2023, 07:38:54 PM
Also, imagine you get attracted to an online casino because of the bonuses they offer and you open an account and make your first deposit then you didn't receive the promised bonus, is this an act of scam or not?

I am trying to solve such an issue for someone very close to me and that the complaint he gave, I have no answer than maybe the bonus was canceled already before he made the deposit or there was a minimum deposit requirement.

If the bonus was cancelled then he shouldn't have seen it when he registered on the casino sites. Many casinos are very dishonest. I think the casino is a scam if all this things happened on the same casinos. These are all signs that the casino isn't not genuine.

What does he want before believe it's a scam casino he wants to wait for  the casino to close or is he waiting until they refuse to let him have access to his money on the casino before he can confirm the casino to be a scam. We have many casino, try another one

Casinos requesting for KYC isn't a symptoms of scam casino but those cancelling a promotion they use to get customers, in the middle of the campaign is very dishonest and they can just closed without warning their customers.
3789  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What kind of rewards/bonuses do you prefer? on: May 09, 2023, 07:26:49 PM
Hi we are changing the reward system and we would like to have some feedback before launch the new system

What kind of rewards/bonuses do you like ?

It's good we have casinos trying to improve their site by asking for suggestions from their customers. Not many casinos sites do this and that's because they don't care about their customers feedback but just do as they feel like doing.

For reward and bonus, I like deposit bonus. Free spins and cashbacks are great but I love when I get bonuses on my deposit. It motivate me to deposit more and keep on gambling. Deposit bonus make me deposit not minding if I have money on the casino already.

Obviously I try not to over gamble so I don't get addicted and some times I end up mostly using the bonuses given for depositing to gamble with just few of my deposit money used for a bet unless I'm feeling too lucky to risk more of personal money.
3790  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How's your gambling experience right now? on: May 09, 2023, 07:11:06 PM
Is anyone still playing today with this high fee? I think those gamblers that leave funds in the casino are very happy that they didn't need to experience this fee drama.

I'm still gambling and that's because I have some funds left in my account, I don't mind keeping them there because they help in situations like what we're experiencing now. I believe this will be over very soon though as it isn't the first time it happened.

When keeping money on casino wallets, you don't have to keep everything you made as profit but just some few amount so you can have money for quick bets. Also when choosing a casino to use always comfirm if they have other deposit options.

Casino that has USDT deposit option will be functioning properly. This high fees isn't just affecting only casino but also exchanges and any service that rely on Bitcoin blockchain to receive coins since Bitcoin is one of the most used cryptocurency.
3791  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The madness of gambling addicts. on: May 06, 2023, 06:59:23 AM
Generally those elder people will act more responsible in their life but there is exception in everything and this poor guy tried something probably inspired from a story somewhere and try to replicate the same but at the end it backfired. Since you mentioned there is not much enough details reported by news so we can't really conclude that is the reality or not but at the end of the day the person committed violence is paying back now in prison probably for the rest of his life.

The story looks very odd as grandparents are those who look after their grandchildren more and not kidnapping them. Maybe they don't give the man money and he has problem he needs to solved with money then saw this as the only way out.

Then after he was caught, he used the gambling story to cover up as kidnapping your own child just to get ransom to gamble doesn't sound realistic. Why don't he just take the ransom and use for himself instead if gambling again.

I know gambling addict are very unpredictable as they can do anything to keep on gambling but this stories doesn't sound like something a grandfather will do. Maybe if the relationship wasn't very close like a cousin or someone else I'll believe the story.
3792  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How Big is the online gambling industry today? on: May 06, 2023, 06:52:44 AM
And in this community alone, we have seen a boom as well with gambling related signature campaigns that even OG bookies like Stake still doing their promotions here. And the numbers might continue to grow as well in the next 5 years or so. So you don't need to go out and enter a traditional base casinos', you can just play at the comfort of your living room like everyday.

The pandemic made everything explode and with the level of the new marketing strategies been use by the newly launched casino, if you don't keep up by doing the exact marketing or similar marketing, you'll be left out of customers as they'll go for the new casino.

Online casino now spend millions just for marketing and giving their casino some celebrity endorsements. Stakes has drake adverting for them each time he plays a game and upload on his social media and the ads on billboards and other ads places.

So much is now been put into marketing, making apps and the site very user friendly and all this started during the lockdown period as more people started making use of online casinos as they couldn't go out or felt bored indoors.
3793  Economy / Gambling / Re: Can we trust 3rd party Slot providers? on: May 05, 2023, 05:02:45 AM
Trust is what makes us still play in the casino. The only time we can’t trust this 3rd party slot provider is when they show irregularities but being doubtful to them without any valid reason will just make our gambling experience full of doubts.
Like what Stake did. The only thing we can do is trust the casino that accepts this 3rd party slot provider since they are the one who review and audit this games to ensure the safety of their customer. For me I can still trust some of the slot provider that has good track of record for providing a quality slot game.

You're very correct, we have to trust the casino we're using and believe they won't scam us. If they believe that a 3rd party slot providers are the best option then we have to trust them and make use of the site that way.

If the slots 3rd party provider doesn't scam anyone then we have to trust them. All that matters are my profits that I'm making, I don't really care how the casino is been operated, since I'm not getting scammed.

Also provided I'm not getting any discomfort and so are the other customers of the casino aren't getting any discomfort as well then we have to make use of the casino platform as it is. In the future if things change we stop using the casino.
3794  Economy / Gambling / Re: Without money, does it still qualify as gambling? on: May 05, 2023, 04:53:00 AM
Placing a bet can be free or paid, depending on the site; betting without money is a type of gambling, while betting with real money is an active type of gambling which most gamblers anticipated. I enjoyed betting on English Premier League soccer games because I am familiar with the game's style and the dominance of the clubs. Football betting is more simpler and easy to predict than cricket, IPL, and BPL betting. Our top goals should be to implement tactics that will help us win bets. Betting is a daily goal for gamblers, who place bets on major sports with favorable odds.

Betting can be done with or without money, there's so many things that can be used in place of money and your time can also be used. Sites that allow you to bet without money is just doing a marketing strategy that'll benefit them as they gain more traffic.

When a site has more traffic regularly, they can convince their potential clients to use their sites for promotion and they get paid from that or they register for Google adsense which they can use to generate revenue for that site to use in maintaining it.

Gambling is anything that's done depending on just luck and a little skills involvement. Gambling isn't only done in sport or slot games. You can also gamble in  investment as those investors that just buy a coin and hope for the best profits are gamblers as well.
3795  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gamble Responsibly on: May 04, 2023, 11:10:27 PM
Casinos always win. We can't deny it because that's where their business is, and casinos try to win even if they win easily. While gamblers have to try hard first to win, only a few can even be counted on the fingers of anyone who wins. The others had to return home defeated.

There's always a large percentage of people losing then winning and that's how the casino stay in business. Without this happening this way then the casino would had ran out of money to payout to their winners since we have people winning daily.

But because, when you compare the percentage of those winning to losing, there losers are always higher and that's because people don't gamble responsibly, people still gamble for revenge or use their emotion which are very wrong ways to gamble.

Gambling irresponsibly gets you addicted and when you get addicted then it becomes an issue to win bets as you'll always lose. To gamble responsibly, then you have to know your limit and set a standard that you'll following to prevent irresponsible decisions like over betting.

1: If a online casino claims to be a decentralized platform does this mean that their games are fully decentralized too?

2: Do you guys know that some casinos regulates their own slots machines themselves, can you gamble with ease of mind on such casinos?

3: If slots games is all you are good at, are you really good at it or you are just lucky? Can you use the word 'good at it' with slots game?

4: What is the most convenient games you play on gambling platforms?

Just to make it more convenient for me to respond to your questions and also make it easier to understand which question my response are for, I edited your original post and added some numbering, I hope you'll be okay with that. Below are my answers.

1: An online casino can't be fully decentralized, there has to be a central control unit, controlling all the affair of the casion so it can't be fully decentralized but we can have decentralized games were two players play and bets without any other involvement just only a smart contract.

2: If a casino get exposed for any fowl behaviors, I won't be comfortable gambling on that casino again because they can't be trusted. 3: Been good at slots games just means you're lucky and has nothing to do with your skills or experience, it's just pure luck.

4: The most convenient game I play is sport betting, whenever I'm playing a game on sports like soccer, basketball etc I'm very confident as winning in this bets requires your knowledge on the sport and experience from previous games which I have.
3798  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I am only trying to stay safe by gambling less on: May 03, 2023, 05:49:22 AM
Gambling is very addictive, gambling less can only help you if you are not putting it to heart which I not possible but I must say that once you are into gambling it will be almost impossible for you not gamble more unless you are just a beginner that just want to give it a benefit of doubt but once you win a bet generally you will gradually see yourself graduating into a full gambler.

You can be a full time gambler yet you're not suffering from addiction, the full time gambling only means you're gambling as a job because that's what gives you income to take care of your personal needs as such it has to be done frequently like a normal job.

While been in this situation, you still have control over yourself as you won't go beyond your budget or steal to gamble but an addict can do all that while still not making any profits from the bets they placed, they just want to gamble because of how it makes them feel.

Addiction is a deadly sickness and it can happen in all areas of work, you can get addicted to music, movies etc you can gambling frequently but just make sure you're not excessing your budgie not gambling as a form of revenge as all those only leads you to losses.
3799  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you blame someone for your gambling losses? on: May 01, 2023, 03:02:50 AM
Nothing good can be expected from an addicted gambler. Moreover, if a minor is addicted to gambling, it may be due to the carelessness of his parents. But only KYC cannot provide any solution in this regard. Because nowadays many people can complete KYC with their parents' documents. Here, in case of minor, father and mother should take adequate care. And if he is an adult then if he does not try to protect himself from that addiction then it is not possible to bring that gambler back to the right path by others.

An addict must be willing to stop gambling himself or to reduce his gambling time by himself before any external body can step in to help him get his desire goals. Going to force those goals on a gambler that's addicted without his approving is a waste if time.

First he has to subconsciously agree and then everything will move smoothly, addicts are very depress and can do unthinkable things just to get what they want. They can buy KYC from online to get access to the gambling sites, we don't have to blame their parents.

As a parent, you just have to do the best they can do in training their children and it's left for the children to choose the path that they'll follow. As a parents you can't do it all which is why you need the help of others to help with your children training.
3800  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I am only trying to stay safe by gambling less on: May 01, 2023, 02:51:02 AM
One sentence in your comment that I really like is that gambling is totally about luck. If luck favors you will get profit and if luck doesn't favor you will face loss. But Bitcoin investment is completely different because if you save the digits by investing in Bitcoin, it will give you huge profits in the future but you may not face losses.

Gambling and Bitcoin investment aren't the same the same thing so it's surprising to see the two get compared together, gambling is all about luck as you have said and I think that's an established fact that anybody gambling is just relying on his luck to win.

No gambler can say he has a verified way of playing that whenever he palys that way, he'll wins and if another person was to play exactly as he does that the person will win too. Gambling is just luck and each gamblers has a day when they'll be very lucky.

Gambling isn't a bad thing to do but as you gamble, don't get addicted. It's when you get addicted that it becomes a bad thing since addiction can make you do unthinkable things and also never use money that was meant for something else to gamble.
