37881  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [BitAffNet] How we're the #1 Bitcoin Mining Pool In The World (proof inside) on: April 25, 2015, 01:17:36 AM
yeah I figure this is a case of dead man walking.

So i will just post a screen shot of my unpaid nmc and doge coins.  I no longer mine here and no one else should unless they simply do not care about being paid.

This type of none payment is  a classic I am going to fail pool symptom

to all just stop mining here move on.

Economics is kicking in. Only what data centres do affects the difficulty. You've got a low price and a lot of large mines that are filled with gear from last summer. Gear is dying and not being replaced and some mines are shutting down completely because they can't pay the bills. Until the next technological leap (which is probably only 3 to 6 months away) or the price goes up, we won't see 50 billion difficulty.

I have to agree to a large extent with that analysis. Many avalon 4.1 owners along with many spondoolies owners   May down clock for power per gh savings.

But all the bitmaintech gear gets the same watts per gh whether at    20% overclock or 20 % underclock.

That bitmaintech gear keeps the diff growth very stable.

Or put it this way if all current gear gear did .52 watts a gh under over or normal rate  growth would be super flat.

The flex we get can happen due to the spondoolies and avalon 4.1 clocks.
37884  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Electrical Upgrade Q on: April 24, 2015, 08:24:02 PM
philipma1957,

You ruined your nice GE load center by putting in a cheap Square D breaker  Tongue

I don't know why some have a hate for Square D.  In my newest subpanal it is a mix of GE and Square D.  Neither brand ever has problems.  I think both work great.

But that could just be me.

Nothing wrong with Square D, they make good stuff.

If laws in the US are anything like in Canada, you might have an insurance problem if there's a fire. You should only use GE breakers in a GE panel, even if a different brand fits. Insurance companies will do their best to find a reason not to pay, and using the wrong breaker is a golden ticket for them.

My main panel in my house is a Cuttler-Hammer, and my panel in my detached garage is Seimens. Both brands of breakers are interchangeable, and I've done it in a pinch, but you need to be aware of possible insurance problems if there's a fire.

In the US as long as the type of breaker is for the panel, and you didn't "mod" any of the tandem breakers to go in a full sized slot you are okay with insurance.

The big no no in the US is AL wiring in the home, that will really piss off your insurance if there is a fire.
yep  which is why my 1970 home needed 100% of my wires replaced with copper.

if you want I can send you a working rasp pi with a working sdcard with a working power brick to help you troubleshoot.  but I am usa so are you usa?

I also did rasp pi   early model b

with a full sized sdcard pretty much flawless for me.

37888  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: S4 PSU replacement alternative on: April 24, 2015, 07:30:32 PM
Thank you for the info share with pictures.  EVGA 1600w can also do the trick and a few other 1500W or stronger PSU!

This PSU costs the same as an EVGA 1600W (or maybe less?), and can power 2x S4's, making it much more cost effective.  I would also hate to have to cut the pretty connectors off a brand new EVGA. Smiley

J4bber, let's keep this thread going.  When you're done with that board design and have a setup to fit, post it in here, or if you send me one for fitment I'll do the same.

all studs all cost over 300 usd.  what is your break out board + psu + wires?  much less correct?

but   of course you need 220 volt and you are loud.

So this is not a next to your tv miner.
Maybe more like an in your garage miner
37889  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Newest Diff thread April 19th to May 1st-NoW open for pick until block 1000 on: April 24, 2015, 07:24:56 PM
Can I take -1.76 to -2.00%? If trend goes like yesterday maybe I have a chance.

And bitcoin price this week seems pretty stable. Lets wait and see next week...

Bitwisdom does seem to keep going back and forth it is down a little more as of this second:

Bitcoin Difficulty:    47,610,564,513
Estimated Next Difficulty:    47,051,261,576 (-1.17%)
Adjust time:    After 1289 Blocks, About 8.9 days

I don't see us being so lucky to get 2 negatives in a row.  But I would be happily wrong if it happens.

I no longer know what to think about this adjustment. We had good solid plus marks.  on this link all upward and onward until the 23rd

http://btc.blockr.io/charts

145  Apr 19th  half old adjustment
155  Apr  20th
157  Apr   21st
149  Apr   22nd
131  Apr   23rd

so now if the number for the 24th is low  say 130 and we pop a few like that we will be negative.

I would have been certain to guess a + for this adjustment.

we are  727 blocks gone about 273 blocks to shutoff of 1000 for picks.

0.00 looks better then 5.76 to 6.00  and 0.00 has not been picked unless I am mistaken.

We are doing a .2 payoff since we had no winner last time.

To those that have not picked we do have quite a bit of negative numbers left and we are trending negative.

I will get back on this I am busy with another task.

Edit

Went back to old code as instructed to do and my  numbers are fixed.  Thanks.

The bot didn't know that someone else was going to use the new code too.

Notlist3d  has it and it works. I'll make it work for you now.

Okay you fixed the missing btc for the posts  >>>>>>>>>>>>>> plus for you thanks
I think a copied it correctly this time it looks good
I will check the auto bot post tracker now.

Auto-bot reads correctly for the new week pretty nice fix by you and your developers plus for you thanks again

0.31 watts  a ch deserves the f bomb.   I can see the future of home mining as a large amount of lotto players.

a set of 3 sticks = 60 bucks.  16 gh mining at westhash kano nicehash  and 8gh at a solo pool.

that setup will allow for a free shot at a block for over a years time.  (rough in my head estimate)

actual estimate is after 465 days  you paid for all your power and you paid the sticks down to 56 dollars.

plus you had a 465 day shot at the solo pool with 8gh.  and you still possess the 3 sticks.  Most all the years of usb sticks they were not that good of a deal.

Bring the mining back to the people!

That is one of our primary goals, always has been. Slow starting on account of we won't take in investor, speculation or dev-preorder money out of principle, but hopefully we can get rolling here soon. First thing in the morning Novak and I need to give the Compac PCB a once-over, and if it checks out we'll be ordering prototypes. With any luck, two weeks from now we'll have sample units in a few hands for testing and review.

Considering the damage BFL has done, you might want to replace a 2 week estimate with something more like 3, even if 2 is more accurate. While this is obviously hugely more transparent than BFL, I am afraid they may have ruined the phrase "Just two more weeks".    Smiley

two week wait time shall be replaced by "about one fortnight's waiting period" . Wink

That would be great! I am the same way.  Although this weekend if all goes as planned my new mining area will keep me busy setting it up.  Have networking ran to it.  Now just need to run a 9 electrical cables.

pictures please post them in your fans thread   https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1020826.0

@ sidehack It has been a pleasure reading this thread and watching this grow.  Thanks for giving me something to look forward to in mining gear.

Edit

Went back to old code as instructed to do and my  numbers are fixed.  Thanks.

I'm guessing you hit the snag I did on code.  I cannot explain why this method works, but it does work.  Copying it from bottom right in code box to top left did not work for me.

To get it to work get the  https://shrib.com address.  On this download the text file, open it within notepad.  Right click select all or through menu.  Then copy it.   After doing this paste it within the signature now, and if it is like mine it worked and code would show properly.

I am mostly using mac.  So I will fuck with it in the morning.  I think I will try to get it on my second account just to see if it looks good.

I have a windows 7 pc that I don't use much since gpu mining days. I will work on it when I am a bit more rested.

It appears to be going back up I cannot understand whats happening.  Anyone know what coins are being mined or what's causing all the rentals?

It was down to 2 percent I went to normal pools and now its up, I just dont get it.

a lot of action is on the lotto tickets see screen shot I have a 15TH ticket lasts 1 day the block is mine if I hit it.

but price is 0.0127 for the fixed number.  while true number is around 0.0106 so anyone playing the lotto acts as a price driver somewhat not totally. I think the pool limits how many lotto tickets not sure.  Here is my  ticket along with others.

Looks like the party at Westhash/Nicehash is completely over. The payout value is now .0104. It's now down to less than 1500TH, compared to well over 4000TH earlier in the week. My lone SP20 has given up on Westhash.

Maybe a new party is starting. Nicehash/Westhash is showing rentals at 30% over straight BTC at the moment.

Kind of too bad because I was looking forward to a nice relaxing stint over at slush's pool. Oh well.

philipma1957's conspiracy theory is starting to look pretty good...

Unless of course the real conspiracy is that the rental sites are behind all the new sha256 alt intros ;-)

No idea what coin they are renting the rigs for? I haven't seen any new SHA256 coins.

Has anyone figured this out?  I went back to original firmware with it being 2 percent... and now it's back up at plus 30 on westhash.  I just want to know what is being mined or what is causing it.

i think it could be  they are selling btc-solo-mine tickets.  let me find a link
a very smart promo very good for nicehash
