386  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Two 0.5 BTC Casascius Coins for Sale on: December 31, 2020, 02:22:14 AM
Yeah I do see the honeycomb now. Thanks. Any reason not to sweep the funds off that one at this point? It does seem unwise to trust a compromised coin.

I don't see any reason not to sweep them if the funds are still there. You mentioned you have two coins, is the second one also peeled?

Regardless, redeemed Casascius coins still have some value so you can still sell them once you have sweeped them.
387  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Two 0.5 BTC Casascius Coins for Sale on: December 31, 2020, 02:02:52 AM
I don't think they've been peeled, are you sure? I don't actually know what they look like after peeling. I'll get a photo of the front of the other one.

The one in the picture is definitely peeled as can be seen from the honeycomb pattern. The address first bits also don't seem very visible.

You can put the address first bits on this website and see if the funds have been moved yet.

Like digicoinuser mentioned, even if the funds haven't moved yet, no serious buyer would buy it because of the risk associated.
388  Economy / Collectibles / Re: TESTING- Submersing paper wallets printed on water proof papers on: December 31, 2020, 12:41:49 AM
If I were to write down on these papers with a ballpoint pen or sharpie how would that behave under water? I am wondering if I should get a couple of these to write down my seed phrases.

No other takers? Time to get yourself a chance to get this as BTC departs for the moon!
390  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Recreate private key based on very short but forgotten password on: December 30, 2020, 10:58:49 PM
It is not realistic to get a private key from a public key. Your best bet would be to brute force the passphrase using a tool such as this one:

https://github.com/glv2/bruteforce-wallet

Edit: Please disregard whatever I wrote. I read it as you still having "wallet.dat" but it being encrypted with a passphrase. You have no recourse. Sorry bud.

but domain names are also used as collateral

No. Domains are usually worthless and/or easy to reclaim by the lender, so they're no good for collateral. And it doesn't matter how much it's worth to you. The actual price the lender could get for it if you default - that's what matters.

so what are you people suggesting here? if I cant get a loan for this website then let someone buy cause someone needs my support someone in a critical situation

Domains are not worthwhile collateral. '.xyz' domains are what, 1 buck? Add 5 bucks a month for hosting. Problem is, you are asking to borrow ~$550 worth of BTC against $10 collateral. No one will lend you that.

Do you have any other form of collateral that you can offer?
