i downloaded the client and it has been out of sync for like 5 mins with no updates. What's the deal?

It's crazy to think the reward for the first block I mined was 54.26 YAC and the last block I just mined is only 28.86 YAC. I wonder what it will be like tomorrow

First of all thank you for your help.. I had not installed <git> yet, that made a difference. I input the make -f makefile.unix command- and received this error afterwards fatal error: miniupnpc/miniwget.h: No such file or directory compilation terminated. make: *** [obj/net.o] Error 1 sudo apt-get install miniupnpc

I guess you can't use a vm... it's true that AVX is not working right in VirtualBox.
~/yacoin/yacoin$ ~/.yacoin/yacoind gethashespersec 24939
^ i7 3770 *in a vm*
I kinda wanna try installing it natively on this system but unfortunately I need it for work.

spend the half day mining these coin and still get nothing =( adicted my second pc X4 940 to my wallet ...still no luck....looks like the train is off for solo miners =(
actually, solo miners are the only ones mining. support the network instead of screaming that you don't get anything +1

Miner shows some pretty strange numbers occasionally so you would need to do that command multiple time during some longer period to find out what the hash really could be.
Number hovers around 350-425 KH/s As I said above, all I did was compile with those flags in Linux Trying this now. I'm still downloading the blockchain in ubuntu so I'm assuming that my gethashespersec of 0 will change once that is done?

[2013-05-09 16:28:30] thread 0: 28332 hashes, 5.64 khash/s [2013-05-09 16:28:30] thread 1: 28604 hashes, 5.73 khash/s [2013-05-09 16:28:30] thread 3: 28120 hashes, 5.61 khash/s [2013-05-09 16:28:31] thread 2: 25720 hashes, 5.23 khash/s
is my 3570k broken? 3600MHz stock
why so low ?
I think the difference is the 64bit AVX and XOP instructions. This binary is 32bit and can't use them. I'm working on a 64bit binary now. Awesome. I am also seeing 5.xx khash/s rates with my i7 3770 3.9 stock. Once this is done I will toss you a block's worth of YAC

Duno whats the all fuzz, yacoin-qt on windows 7, 2500K atm 1 block per hour, had more earlier...so far in 5h ~800YAC
2.5 MHashes? Are you using Deep Blue supercomputer? 2500K is an Intel i5 CPU. Well it seems AMD and Win are fucked somewhere. All people mining shitload of YAC use Intel and Linux. AMD under linux is fine IMO. I have a few boxes with Phenom II x4 965 or whatevers and they worked like champs earlier on. Not as good as the Xeons though, of course. finally got it compiled, but I'm having issues running it: .yacoin$ YaCoin server starting
************************ EXCEPTION: St13runtime_error CDB() : can't open database file blkindex.dat, error 22 yacoin in AppInit()
terminate called after throwing an instance of 'std::runtime_error' what(): CDB() : can't open database file blkindex.dat, error 22

how can we tell what our hashrate is?
I feel like this has been asked before... yeah, all they have to do is go back through 116 pages of the thread all you need to do is open the yacoin client's console through the help->debug window menu and then type gethashespersec and hit enter.

Just got another block, but it was only 49.57 YAC instead of 54.25 YAC this time. I guess the reward is going down?
Yes, that's the idea of this coin. Reward started at 100 I think. Then it hits some sort of N++ event, at which point, difficulty will decrease, and block value will increase, if I understand correctly Yah, that's the part I didn't understand. The block size will go up as the difficulty goes up on the N++ event and at that point (if pools happen) I would assume pool-hoppers will come over and get a larger reward for the same difficulty for a while, until the amount of miners gets high enough to increase the diff. Does this make sense to anyone else?

I have a cable 10M/s connection, 3 Xeon´s and 2 AMD FX-8, 6 hour mining and guess what … not a single block. This sucks. Let me guess, you are running the windows client from megaupload? for those of us who are noobs, can anybody post compilation instructions using msys/g++ on a windows machine?

EDIT: Anyone selling lists of IPs of nodes to add? Working on setting up a public node with maxconnections=1024 that is non-mining (for better responsiveness) & ssd for faster I/O. When I succeed I'll post with IP for another -addnode those firewall-restricted people can use :-) Nice! that'll help a lot of people. Ok, node is up at 92.205.43.118 . Just add another -addnode 92.205.43.118 to your start parameters. Node is up to date with block chain and I have ~1024kbit upstream & low pings. I suggest connecting only once you are up to date with block chain to keep my uplink free for faster responsiveness for those already connected. Thanks! I just hooked up one of the machines to it, we'll see how it goes.

18 threads, 2 i7 cpu's, 2 blocks found, 8 orphans in about 2 hours.

after 2 hours of mining on 2 8 core i7's I finally got my first block. It has 48 confirmations, with 472 left before it's mature. I hope it actually works...
