bitcoin is not just to gain/earn profits in a very short period of time, we just all be more greedy to earn bitcoin in a very short period of time because of the huge pump of bitcoin last year, but before, year 2015-2016 we are all contented on how bitcoin really works in pump and dump moment by moment and we all dont care when this bitcoin pump more because we are all expected/predicted that bitcoin will pump/grow in the year 2020 but it all happened early as expected at last quarter of the year 2017, and now we are all have a greed mind to earn more profits in just very short period like we all experienced recently.

best altcoin? to be the best, I cannot say which one has to be on top above all altcoins but to have a potential to grow more in this year (2018), I think ETN and IDH, these two rookie altcoin has a potential to grow more further this year and hoping to be on top 10 altcoins before year end. and ofcourse ethereum, hoping to pump this altcoin again this year.

for me, the only reasons why bitcoin price goes down is because of some FUD news. FUD news can create a massive dump on some newbie investors that not really know how bitcoin really works. then the correction of this price from the previous sells last years. all in all normally bitcoin price is totally crash but it is just for now. sooner or later i am very sure that bitcoin will pump after this correction.

bitcoin is decentralized, meaning there are no one managing/manipulate bitcoin. even the creator of bitcoin has no access to manage this bitcoin and implement some taxes inside this program. the only possible things to implement taxes is from the outside of blockchain which is you exchange sites, and local bitcoin exchange outlets.

like what you said OP "it simply FUD leading to a wide-spread panic selling" because 5% of bitcoin holders/investors are newbie in this industry so it is very normal that this newbie sell all of their bitcoin when they see that they are losing money by the dip which is not recommend to do as a trader. and in addition, bitcoin investors are switching to altcoin just to make more profits after a massive effect of bitcoin dip to altcoins. this is just all my opinion.

it is more convenience for me to use electronic money, less hustle, no hard time and no waste of time. if all people use this e-money as a regular activity daily, more of us are ease from such problem mentioning above. it is more secure than to carry fiat money to spend, but to replace fiat by this e-money, it is impossible to implement yet. because 70% people around the world has a high usage of fiat than digital money/e-money, so meaning the world of e-money community is very far to happened.

NO! i would really not going to sell my altcoin as long as it didnt hit my goals. if the value of my altcoins decreasing, i telling my self that this is indicates of pumping soon, and i still waiting to reached the amount that i set up. meaning i cannot get enough profits if i sell my coins into the row that didnt know what will happen next.

now these days all altcoins are getting back to itself. so meaning red days are almost done. reds indicates to buy/purchase/invest on that coin not just to create your self into panic and sell all your coins in the dark. for me even theres a lot of reds and even i see this reds everyday and every moment, ive choose to hold and not to sell, i have a faith on my altcoins and not in the chart.

of course yes. we really need an alternative coins for more better options. even though there are so many option to choose who fix us up. having an alt coin is reliable to have. for example if the altcoin we really been choose before as a chosen one, got has any problem/issue in the future, how can you fix it up if even the DEVs cant find any solution for it, or just they run away. altcoin is an another ways to earn profits.
